Samsung is continuing its streak of updating its devices to Android 11 faster than most manufacturers. The latest device to get the update is the 2020 Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

The update is rolling out to users in France already as software version N770FXXU7DUA8. It has been reported by SamMobile that the update also comes with January 2021’s security patch. It is expected to arrive in the coming weeks in more regions.

Android 11 is the first major OS upgrade for the phone which launched in January 2020 with Android 10 pre-installed. The update includes the new One UI 3.0 which brings a new user interface, new camera features, and a redesigned Quick Settings among others.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is one of the devices that Samsung said will get three Android OS upgrades, so owners of this phone should expect it to get updated to Android 12 and Android 13 in the future.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a 6.7-inch 2400 x 1080 display with a centered punch hole for a 32MP camera. Inside the phone is the 10nm Exynos 9810 processor and it is paired with 6GB of 8GB of RAM. The storage capacity for both variants is 128GB but a MicroSDXC card slot allows for storage expansion.

Samsung has put three 12MP cameras on the back of the phone. One is the main sensor, another is a telephoto camera that has OIS and 2x optical zoom, and the third is the ultrawide camera.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 25W fast wired charging. Samsung has skipped wireless charging and reverse wireless charging support which is available on its siblings, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10 Plus. You do get an audio jack, NFC, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Unfortunately, those looking forward to a successor will most likely not get one as there are multiple reports that Samsung has terminated the Galaxy Note series.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite smartphone has gone official in India. The handset was first announced by Samsung at the beginning of the year along with the Galaxy S10 Lite for the European markets. The smartphone has today landed in India with a starting price of Rs. 38,999 (~$548). With this pricing, the handset will be rivaling with budget-friendly flagship devices like OnePlus 7T and Realme X2 Pro.

The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is priced at Rs. 38,999 (~$548). The higher 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model costs Rs. 40,999 (~$576). The color variants of the Note 10 Lite include Aura Black, Aura Red and Aura Glow. The smartphone can be pre-ordered through Flipkart and Samsung’s online store starting from today. The sales of the phone will kick off from Feb. 3.

As far launch offer is concerned, Samsung is providing a discount of up to Rs. 5,000 for existing owners of Galaxy phones who purchase the new Galaxy Note 10 Lite smartphone.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite wears a massive display of 6.7 inches. The S-AMOLED display has an Infinity-O punch-hole that houses a front camera of 32-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture. The display of the phone supports full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone is equipped with an on-screen fingerprint reader.

The only disappointing thing about the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is that it does not feature a flagship chipset. The rival phones in the same price category are powered by Snapdragon 855+ flagship SoC from last year. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite ships with Exynos 9810. It is a processor that fueled the Galaxy S9 series and Galaxy Note 9 series in 2018. This does not mean that is a sluggish phone. It should be good enough for regular usage. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 10 Lite alongside the Galaxy S10 Lite earlier this month. The company is yet to reveal when the models will launch in India but India blog 91mobiles credits industry sources to have disclosed that reservations for the smartphone will go live on retail and online stores across India from January 21.

The sources are also said to have disclosed that the device will be released in mid-February. This may likely be after the global launch of the Galaxy S20 series on February 11. Also, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite reservations will commence just a few days before the Galaxy S10 Lite’s India launch scheduled to take place on January 23. Pricing is expected to start at Rs 35,990 for the base variant.

As a reminder, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-O display, slightly smaller than the Galaxy Note 10+’s 6.8-inch QHD+ display. The Note 10 Lite is powered by an Exynos 9810 SoC which was used on the Galaxy S9 from 2018. For photography, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite features a triple rear camera setup. At the front, the device packs a 32-megapixel f/2.2 sensor. While its S Pen does have Bluetooth Low-Energy support, it doesn’t have a 6-axis sensor, so you can’t do any of the cool gestures that you can with the Galaxy Note 10/10+’s S Pen. But Samsung did add the Text Export feature which allows users to transfer handwritten notes into text for quick sharing.

As for the interface, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite runs on Android 10-based One UI 2.0 out of the box. It also has features like Bixby, Samsung Pay, AR Emoji, and facial recognition. There’s a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display as well. Keeping the lights on is a massive 4500mAh battery which is even bigger than the Galaxy Note 10+’s 4,300mAh battery. The battery supports 25W super-fast wired charging.

The device comes in Aura Black, Aura Glow and Aura Red colours.

The back panel of the phone is made out of glass which curves towards the edges. The right side of the phone features a volume rocker and a power button. Galaxy Note 10 Lite Releasing Next Year?

The FCC certification of the S Pen for Galaxy Note 10 Lite reveals that it is a Bluetooth enable device and it features gyroscope. The latter will bring support for Air Actions (air gestures) on the Note 10 Lite. Its dimensions are identical with that of the S Pen that ships with Note 10 Lite as it measures 5.80 x 4.35 x 105.18mm.

The FCC documents of the S Pen has its external photos. Unfortunately, it is withheld until May next year. This could be a hint the Galaxy Note 10 Lite that is speculated to debut in December may actually break cover in the coming year. If it goes official in May 2020, it will be arriving well after the Note 10 series that went in August and around three months after the Galaxy S11 series that will be unveiled in February. Hence, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite seems to be Samsung’s strategy of boosting its sales by mid-2020.

Apart from the specs revealed through Geekbench, very few details are known on the specs of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The smartphone may continue to sport an Infinity-O notch display like the Galaxy Note 10 models, and it may come with a native storage of 128 GB.

Recently, Sammobile had claimed that the South Korean company may rebadge the Galaxy Note 10 Lite as Galaxy A81 in specific markets. For instance, S-series phones have SM-Gxxxx model number, Note-lineup smartphones have SM-Nxxxx model number and A-series phones have SM-Axxxx model number. However, the SM-AN815F seems to be a unique device.

The SM-AN815F model number could be belong to the upcoming Galaxy A81. However, the presence of A and N in the model number hints that the phone could be coming with a S Pen stylus. Recent reports have revealed that the upcoming Galaxy A91 that has a model number of SM-A915F and Galaxy S10 Lite with SM-G770F could be same device even though they belong to different series. Hence, there is a possibility that the Galaxy A81 could be a rebranded version of the Galaxy Note 10 Lite for some markets.

Apart from Note series, no other Samsung phones have featured the S Pen stylus. If the Galaxy A81 really arrives with S Pen, it will be a good attempt from Samsung on bringing stylus support on a cheaper as Note lineup flagship phones have always carried hefty price tags.

Nothing much is known about the Galaxy A81 expect for the rumor that it will be equipped with 128 GB of native storage. Hopefully, more details on the Galaxy A81 phone in the coming weeks.

The swivel camera system of the predecessor Galaxy A80 phone was most striking feature. It remains to be seen whether the Galaxy A81 will retain it. Leaked information that appeared few months ago had revealed it will be equipped with quad rear cameras featuring a 64-megapixel main lens, a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel sensor with 2x or 5x optical zoom and a 3D ToF sensor. The Galaxy A80 was made official in April this year. Hence, there is a possibility that the Galaxy A81 could be made official around the same time next year.

Samsung has been reported to be working on a new Galaxy Note model. The model is expected to bring along affordability in its pricing compared to the high-end Galaxy Note series that usually comes with a premium price tag. A few more details of the Galaxy Note model has emerged and you might want to take a look.

The device is said to bear the moniker Galaxy Note 10 Lite. As a result of it bearing the Galaxy Note 10 name, the device may get released any moment from now, certainly before the release of the Galaxy S11 next year.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is said to bear the model number SM-N770F. The device comes in two different colour options – black and red. If this is true, it will be the third Galaxy Note model this year after the Note 10 and Note 10+ were launched a couple of months earlier. The Galaxy Note 10 starts at $949 and that can’t be said to be affordable. Perhaps, to remove the toga of an elitist model off the Note series, this affordable Note 10 Lite is being introduced.

However, we really can’t say how affordable it will be since there is no clue as to what the tech giant will trim off the Note 10 to qualify it as a Lite version.
