Rumors are rife that the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will be made official in early August. The series may include two or three devices such as Galaxy Note 20, Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra. Recently, the SM-N986U Samsung phone received approval from Bluetooth SIG authority. While previous reports claimed that the SM-N986U will break cover as Note 20+, the Bluetooth listing revealed that it could be coming to the market as Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The same model number has appeared in the HTML5 Test to reveal some information on its display.

The HTML Test of SM-N986U revealed a test resolution of 1444 x 3096 pixels. It offers a tall aspect ratio of 19.3:9. It will not be as tall as the Galaxy S20 series that carry support for the 20:9 aspect ratio. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 handsets offers a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The Galaxy Note 20 is also expected to offer the same aspect ratio as Note 20+ / Ultra smartphone. The Note 20 Ultra is expected to house a 6.87-inch display and carry a refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen of the Note 20 Ultra will be curved towards the edges.

On the other side, the Note 20 is rumored to support Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The Note 20’s screen will be flat, and it will have a wide frame. The Galaxy Note 20 series will be equipped with top-center positioned punch-hole.

Rumors have it that the Galaxy Note 20 series will go official on Aug. 5. It is said that the Galaxy Fold 2 foldable phone and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be also unveiled through the same event.

Recently, a device named Galaxy Note 20 Ultra had emerged at the database of Bluetooth SIG. At that time, it was speculated that the Note 20+ could be debuting as Note 20 Ultra. Fresh information reveals that the lineup may include three devices such as Note 20, Note 20+, and Note 20 Ultra. The display details of these phones have also appeared.

According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy Note 20 will be arriving with a flat display that supports Full HD+ resolution and a conventional refresh rate of 60Hz. The tipster also claimed that it has a wide frame.

It is effectively a Note 20 ‘lite’ handset and its specs are quite different from the Note 20 Ultra. Th tipster added that the comprehensive specifications of the Note 20 are even lower than the Galaxy Note 10 from last year that came with a curved screen and narrow bezels.

Hence, the Galaxy Note 20 is likely to arrive as the most affordable Note 20 series device. The leakster also revealed that the Note 20+ and Note 20 Ultra will be arriving with 120Hz LTPO displays that will offer Quad HD+ resolution. The CAD renders of the Note 20 series by OnLeaks had revealed that its display features a top-center positioned punch-hole. A recent report had claimed that the Note 20+ will have a triple camera setup with a 108-megapixel main lens along with 50x zoom support.

The Galaxy Note 20 series is expected to go official on Aug. 5. Rumors are rife that the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will also break cover at the same event.

A South Korean publication had recently reported that Samsung may hold the Unpacked unveil event on Aug. 5 to announce Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2. Another South Korean publication has revealed the names of other devices that are expected to go official alongside the above-mentioned devices. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Samsung will be holding an online event to announce its new devices.

According to The Korea Herald, Samsung will be launching Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Watch 3 along with Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2. Even reliable tipster Jon Prosser tweeted that the company would launch Galaxy Z Flip 5G on Aug. 5. The tipster believes that the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available for purchase from Aug. 20.

The South Korean publication has not revealed any information on the specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Samsung had launched Snapdragon 855 powered Galaxy Z Flip clamshell phone with foldable display earlier this year. The elegant device did not carry support for 5G connectivity. It is unclear which processor will be driving the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Some rumors have claimed that the upcoming 5G edition will have a base storage of 256 GB and it may come in a new brown color.

The Galaxy Note 20 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch flat S-AMOLED display whereas the Galaxy Note 20+ will have a curved 6.9-inch S-AMOLED screen. They are expected to come with respective batteries of 4,300mAh and 4,500mAh capacities. The Note 20 Plus is rumored to feature a 108-megapixel main shooter in its rear-mounted triple camera setup. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to come with a larger inner display of 7.7 inches.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 20 series in August as successors for last year’s Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. The rumor mill has been speculating that the upcoming Note 20 models could be called Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20+. The SM-N986U phone had appeared on Geekbench last month. At that time, the rumor mill had dubbed it as Galaxy Note 20+. However, the Bluetooth certification of the SM-N986U device reveals that it could be arriving in the market as Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

The Bluetooth certification of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra only confirms the support for Bluetooth 5.0 and nothing else on its specifications. The Chinese variant of the same phone has SM-N9860 model. The 3C certification of the SM-N9860 had revealed that it could be coming with a 25W fast charger.

Popular tipster Ice Universe is of the view that the Snapdragon 865+ SoC could be powering the device. The reason behind it is that the Geekbench listing showed the processor’s large core frequency as high as 3.09GHz. In comparison, the SD865 offers maximum clocking speeds of 2.84GHz. In some markets, the phone may ship with Exynos 992 chipset. The tipster claimed that the appearance of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra moniker could be an error and it could be called Note 20+. Interestingly, the Bluetooth listing has been taken down.

So far, the rumor mill has revealed that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will have a 6.9-inch 120Hz Infinity-O S-AMOLED display with quad HD+ resolution support. It is likely to feature the same in-display fingerprint scanner that was made available on the S20 series. The phone may come with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of built-in storage.

It could be coming with a 40-megapixel front camera. The back panel of the phone is said to feature a 108-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 13-megapixel periscope lens with 50x hybrid zoom support and a laser autofocus unit.  Some of its other rumored features include improved S-Pen, stereo speakers, and support for sub6 and mmWave 5G bands. In August, the Note 20 series is expected to break cover along with Galaxy Fold 2.

Samsung will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 20 series in the second half of 2020. The long-rumored Galaxy Fold 2 is also expected to debut alongside it. There have been multiple leaks about these two devices over the past few weeks. A new one now suggests the Galaxy Note 20 series to come with 16GB RAM as standard.

As of now, there’s only one Samsung smartphone with 16GB RAM in the market and that is the beefed-up 512GB variant of Galaxy S20 Ultra. But the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 series, on the other hand, could feature 16GB RAM on all models.

This piece of information comes from a recent Q&A session by DSCC CEO Ross Young. The Galaxy Note 20 series is expected to launch in both 4G as well as 5G variants like the Galaxy S20 series. Hence, there is still a confusion if both these versions will have 16GB RAM or only the 5G variant will feature it.

Samsung has already begun the mass production of 16GB LPDDR5 RAM in late February. So it is certain it will be featured in the forthcoming Galaxy Note 20 series and maybe even other high-end devices from different OEMs in the future.
