The most common scenario is when Android brands tweet from an iPhone. Similar events have happened with popular phone brands like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> and even <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a>. Now, surprisingly the Chinese tech giant <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> seems to have taken it further with a tweet, praising its rival Samsung&#8217;s S-Pen.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-281334" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-1024x575.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="696" height="391" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/OnePlus-7T-Hands-on-logo-02-featured.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p>You heard it right, OnePlus knowingly or unknowingly tweeted about Samsung&#8217;s S-Pen from its OnePlus India Twitter handle. The tweet goes by &#8220;The enhanced #SPen is my weapon of choice&#8221;, with a short video of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra/">Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra</a> and S-Pen.</p>
<p>Well, OnePlus obviously deleted the tweet, seconds after it was posted but the Twitter leakster, <em>Abhishek Yadav,</em> managed to spot it and share screenshots on the internet.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Oneplus India what is this?<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/OnePlus?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#OnePlus</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Samsung?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Samsung</a> <a href="https://t.co/yAVO8ga4Yp">pic.twitter.com/yAVO8ga4Yp</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) <a href="https://twitter.com/yabhishekhd/status/1413099230021885957?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 8, 2021</a></p></blockquote>

<p>Brands can often make mistakes while promoting an ad campaign but it&#8217;s another story when you promote your rival&#8217;s products. Although it is laugh-worthy (at least from the netizen&#8217;s point of view), this could have happened because of a simple goof-up by the PR company handling the brand account. If you recall, earlier, OnePlus was subjected to similar trolling when it posted about the OnePlus 9 series from an iPhone.</p>
<p>In related news, OnePlus is currently dealing with a controversy where it is said to be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/08/oneplus-confirms-throttling-popular-apps-to-save-battery-on-oneplus-9-series/">throttling the performance of popular apps</a> to save battery on its devices. Consequently, the Geekbench<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/07/oneplus-9-pro-geekbench-database-claims-performance-throttling/"> result of the OnePlus 9 Pro was also shelved off</a>.</p>
