Now, months after this phone’s release, Samsung may stop manufacturing the Exynos 990 variant.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Galaxy S20 FE was one of the best smartphones launched in 2020. But those rave reviews were for the 5G variant with the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Qualcomm/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Qualcomm</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> chipset. Wheres, the 4G version was criticized by both media and users for its poor battery life and performance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Looks like </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Samsung</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is trying to right this decision with its new move. The company recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/31/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-5g-launched-in-india-for-rs-47999-613/">launched the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India</a>. Also, the South Korean tech giant is reported to be working on a new 4G variant with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 instead of Exynos 990, as per </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/24/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-sm-g780g-ds-nbtc-certification/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">multiple certifications</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, according to popular leakster </span><a href="https://twitter.com/UniverseIce/status/1379273367337979907"><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ice Universe</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, Samsung will halt the production of Exynos 990-equipped Galaxy S20 FE. This variant will be replaced by a Snapdragon 865+ model. This means the upcoming new Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780G) could be powered by Snapdragon 865+ SoC and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/29/new-samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-variant-sm-g780g-snapdragon-865/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">not Snapdragon 865</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That said, since this upcoming Galaxy S20 FE has been already listed on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/30/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-4g-with-sd865-could-be-heading-to-uk-malaysia-and-philippines/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">multiple regional Samsung websites</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, we can expect it to go official very soon.</span></p>
