Samsung has recently released the latest security update for its Galaxy S21 series. The update, which includes the July 2023 security patch, is now available in select Latin American countries and will soon expand to other regions. Both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 devices have already started receiving this update.

What’s new in this update?

The firmware version G99xBXXS9EWF3 brings the July 2023 security patch to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. This update addresses more than 90 security vulnerabilities that were present in the previous software version. Notably, this update focuses solely on security enhancements and does not introduce any new features or performance improvements. Currently, it is accessible in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay.

The security bulletin released by Samsung highlights that the July 2023 security patch resolves a total of 90 security flaws across various Galaxy phones and tablets. Among these fixes, 52 have been provided by Google, while Samsung has developed 38 security vulnerability fixes. Three critical flaws have been addressed, alongside 56 high-priority issues. The remaining vulnerabilities are considered moderate risks. It is worth mentioning that Google has now incorporated three fixes already included in the June 2023 patch by Samsung in the July update.

Some of the security vulnerabilities addressed by Samsung (SVEs) relate to manual package installation through ADB command, improper audio system access control, UWB chipset identifier, broadcast SMS configuration, Galaxy Themes Service, and more. Improper access control problems were also present in Settings, and certain internal testing functions suffered from out-of-bounds write issues, potentially allowing unauthorized code execution.

Most of the flaws detected are found in devices running Android 11, Android 12, Android 12L, and Android 13, with some issues specifically related to Qualcomm chips and components, Mali and PowerVR GPUs, and memory management.

If you reside in any of the aforementioned countries and own a Galaxy S21 series phone, you can promptly download the new update. To install it, navigate to Settings, select Software Update, and tap Download and Install.

The Galaxy S21 series was launched by Samsung in early 2021 with Android 11 as the pre-installed operating system. Subsequently, the devices received the Android 12 update in late 2021 and the Android 13 update in late 2022. Later this year, Samsung is expected to release the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series.

Additionally, several users in the comments section of the complaint post stated that around 80% of users are experiencing similar display issues. This indicates a potential software or hardware problem associated with these devices.

This is not the first time such complaints have arisen. Previously, Galaxy S21 Ultra users reported the appearance of green vertical lines following a software update. These recurring issues strongly suggest a correlation between the software updates and the occurrence of pink or green lines on the display.

Similar problems were encountered by users of the S20 series in the past. After numerous complaints, Samsung offered free screen replacements to affected users. It is possible that the company will once again prioritize addressing the complaints regarding the Galaxy S21 Ultra and provide a free screen replacement or a suitable solution for these display issues.

Overall, the reported display problems on the Galaxy S21 Ultra after the May 2023 update highlight the need for Samsung to investigate and resolve these issues to ensure a satisfactory user experience.

Samsung has been beta testing One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 for its devices for months. Some of them even started receiving the stable update in November. However, the rollout did not go as expected due to issues. Now, over a month later, the South Korean tech giant has finally fixed those problems and has begun seeding the stable update once again.

The stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 was first made available for the Galaxy S21 series comprising of Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The update was later rolled out for the Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Galaxy Z Fold3.

As mentioned earlier, the update rollout for the aforementioned handsets was halted due to bugs. Samsung seeded out yet another stable release but unfortunately, that also had issues.

It turns out that the compatibility between Google Play System and One UI 4.0 was responsible for the reported issues. The world’s largest smartphone brand has now fixed (via XDA Developers) this problem with the help of a patch from Google.

Hence, the company has now kicked off the One UI 4.0 stable update rollout for the above-mentioned phones with the fix. The update arrives with December 2021 security patches and the following firmware numbers.

Samsung has finally kickstarted One UI 4.0 Beta program based on Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series. The initiative was first teased at the end of July. Previously, it was said to be made available in August itself. But unfortunately, that did not happen. Anyway, the company is still a month ahead of last year.

According to the official announcement, Android 12-based One UI 4.0 brings new and improved customization and privacy capabilities. Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communications Business, says that the company’s new software helps users create their own optimized mobile experience. Like the previous iterations of One UI, the latest version is also said to be developed with feedback from users.

The One UI 4.0 Beta program for the Galaxy S21 devices, namely Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra will be available in the following regions.

• India
• Germany
• Poland
• South Korea
• UK
• US

However, it is worth noting that the release date may vary from country to country. Further, in order to enroll in the initiative, users will have to use the Samsung Members app.

Most importantly, not all features will be available in the beta builds. Also, these software builds could be buggy. Hence, the beta program is not recommended for everyone.

As far as stable release is concerned, Samsung says it will happen later this year. Since the South Korean tech giant is a month earlier this time around, the stable rollout may begin as early as November instead of December.

The Galaxy S20 series is known for poor sales. As a result, Samsung not only released the Galaxy S21 series a month earlier but also priced it cheaper. Despite that, the latest Galaxy S series models sales figure is said to be even lower than that of its predecessors.

According to a report by Kiwoom Securities (via Business Post), Samsung only managed to sell 13.5 million units of the Galaxy S21 series during its first six months in the market. The report states that the sales decreased by 20% and a whopping 47% when compared with the Galaxy S20 series and the Galaxy S10 series respectively.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series models are said to be the worst-performing Galaxy S series smartphones in the initial six months post-release. In fact, as per data, the sales of the Galaxy S lineup have been decreasing gradually every year.

Looks like people have lost interest in the iconic Galaxy S series. Unfortunately, that’s not the only bad news for Samsung. Chinese tech giant Xiaomi overtook the South Korean tech giant to become the largest smartphone brand in Europe for the first time in Q2 2021. For those unaware, Xiaomi is also the world’s second-largest smartphone brand at the moment.

Since there will not be a Galaxy Note this year, Samsung will continue promoting the Galaxy S21 series in the second half of the year to boost sales. However, the company will be focussing more on the Galaxy Z series of foldable smartphones.

To overcome this issue, Samsung is expected to use an AMD GPU-equipped Exynos chipset in the next year’s Galaxy S22 series. This SoC is said to be more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895. The company anticipates that this differentiating factor will improve dwindling sales of the Galaxy S series.

Samsung is known to bring improvements to smartphones even after their launch via updates. Recently, it enabled flagship camera features for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G and other older devices. Now, it is bringing more improvements to the entire Samsung Galaxy S21 series.

In a new update that is rolling out to users of India with firmware version G99xxXXU2AUC8, Samsung is bringing camera improvements to the Galaxy S21 series of devices- Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The update weighs over 1GB and it also has performance improvements for the devices.

Notably, the company seems to have finally allowed users to capture portrait shots via the regular lens. Samsung had introduced new camera features like Director’s View, Low-light portraits during the Galaxy S21 launch. However, it had allowed only ultrawide/telephoto lens to capture portraits so far.

With the new update, users can click portrait photos via the regular sensor as reported by Sammobile. Anyway, along with this, the update also brings the latest April 2021 security patch to the entire Galaxy S21 series.

We can expect the update to expand to other regions as well. That said, if you are living in India, you can try out the new feature by updating the device to the latest firmware. To do that you can navigate to  Settings > Software update > Download and install.

A few years back, Samsung was known for a poor update track record when compared to other Android OEMs. But thankfully, that’s not the case anymore. The company has not only promised three generations of Android updates to its flagships and mid-rangers but also at least four years of security updates for almost its entire lineup. Apart from longer support, it is now also faster in rolling out the builds. How fast you may ask? The answer is the firm has already started seeding the March 2021 security update to some of its devices when February is yet to end.

According to SamMobile, the South Korean tech giant has started rolling out the March 2021 security update to a total of four devices. These phones are Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy S21 series (Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra).

For the Galaxy A8 (2018), the latest security update for this handset is currently live in the UAE with firmware version A530FXXSICUC1. Whereas, the same update for the Galaxy S21 series is being seeded in Taiwan with firmware version G99x0ZHU1AUB7 weighing 387MB.

Users of these four handsets in the above-mentioned regions can head over to Settings > Software update > Download and install to check whether their phone has received the OTA release.

Anyway, it is worth noting that though the March 2021 update is live for the mentioned handsets in the respective regions, it may take time to reach every unit as it is being pushed in batches. Similarly, customers in other markets should also get this update in the coming days.

In mid-January, Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S21 series consisting of three models. However, these smartphones hit the shelves only later that month. Now, within a few days, the trio has been already discounted in the US by up to $200 along with the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold2.

For those unaware, Samsung debuted the Galaxy S21 series starting at $799.99 for Galaxy S21, $999.99 for Galaxy S21+, and $1,199.99 for Galaxy S21 Ultra respectively.

The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ come in two storage configurations and hence, customers opting for the higher storage variant have to spend an extra $50. On the other hand, the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes in three variants. Its mid-variant costs an additional $50 extra but the top-most variant is $130 costlier than the previous version.

However, if you want to buy a Galaxy S21 series device right now, you don’t have to spend the handset’s MSRP. That’s because all three phones have been discounted by popular retailers in the US.

All the storage variants of Galaxy S21 now costs $100 cheaper, whereas those of Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra are discounted by $200.

Similarly, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold2 are also discounted by up to $200. In case you do not know, Samsung’s first 5G clamshell foldable smartphone just received its first-ever permanent price cut in the US last week.

It’s been 10 days since the Galaxy S21 series launched. Among the three devices, the vanilla Galaxy S21 and S21 Ultra have already been torn down to reveal the inside. Now is the turn for the Galaxy S21+ 5G Teardown.

Just like the other versions, the Samsung Galaxy S21+(SM-G996U) 5G’s teardown video also comes from PBKreviews YouTube channel. The video begins by talking about the SIM trays. He says that the Single-SIM variants of the S21+ have the ability to read both SIMs but one of them is disabled and has a plastic SIM tray.

So if you need to access the second one, first you will need a metal dual-SIM tray as shown below. Next is a new firmware that re-enables the second SIM reader to detect the network. Moving on, opening the back Glass Panel, we see the inside is similar to other models. Since this is a sub-6GHz 5G Exynos 2100 Version, it lacks mmWave antennas.

Speaking of the rear panel, it seems the camera layout cover is detachable from the panel itself. It is reportedly fixed to the rest of the rear using an adhesive. After unscrewing the 19 Philips Heads, you see the NFC and Wireless charging coils. Beneath them are ribbon connectors for Speakers, Bottom circuitry, NFC, etc.

Removing all of them, we get to the speaker unit(separate) and Camera layout attached to the mainboard. As you can see below, the first one is a 12MP ultra-wide, next two are OIS-enabled 12MP wide-angle and 64MP Telephoto. Interestingly, apart from the secondary mic and LED flash, a third mic is sorted to the motherboard.

The sound for this travels through the LED diffusers through a pathway inside to get to the mic through a separate hole. As for the processor, the Exynos 2100 is covered inside a Thermal Paste+Graphite Pad combo sitting below a 3D Graphene layer.

Penultimately, after removing the cables on the way and bottom circuitry(Charging port, Speaker, Display Flex connection), we see the EB-BG996ABY 4,800mAh battery.

Just like the S21, S21 Ultra, or any other Samsung, this doesn’t have pull tabs. Hence, you need heat to remove the battery to see the display. Another interesting point here is the flex cable for side volume keys are etched between the display and mid-frame. Hence, you need to pry open the display to repair it if you get it damaged.

Last week, Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Galaxy SmartTag/SmartTag+ at the first-ever Unpacked event of 2021. These phones, in particular, come in a wide variety of colors. Samsung even announced certain custom colors for the Plus and Ultra models. Now, out of nowhere, an unannounced special color of the Galaxy S21+ emerges on Samsung Australia’s official website.

Samsung has begun to take pre-orders for the newly announced Galaxy S21 series worldwide. Interestingly, on the company’s Australian website (FAQ section), it has listed an exclusive color called Phantom Green. This variant of the handset has the following SKU IDs.

• SM-G996BZGAXSA – Galaxy S21+ Phantom Green (8GB + 128GB)
• SM-G996BZGEXSA – Galaxy S21+ Phantom Green (8GB + 256GB)

For those unaware, the custom color variants of Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra are exclusive to Samsung eStore. At the launch event, the South Korean tech giant only revealed two custom colors for the Galaxy S21+, namely Phantom Red and Phantom Gold, in addition to the standard colors – Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Black.

Hence, it is surprising to know the existence of third custom color. But unfortunately, there are no renders of this version. And therefore, LetsGoDigital has published renders of Galaxy S21+ Phantom Green based on Galaxy S20 FE Cloud Mint, in partnership with designer Giuseppe Spinelli.

That said, we expect Samsung to extend the availability of this custom color to more markets in the near future.

Customers can take advantage of no-cost EMI and stand EMI plans to purchase the desired handset.

We are just two days away from the 2021 Galaxy Unpacked event of Samsung. The company will be announcing Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra 5G smartphones as per various reports. Amidst a bucket load of leaks, a new report by WinFuture.de shows how the retail packaging would look like.

As per the report given by Roland Quandt(@rquandt), we see two images of what is claimed to be the retail packaging of Galaxy S21+ 5G, and S21 Ultra 5G. Both the boxes are Black in color. Additionally, the supposed marketing poster for the in-box contents shows what we can expect inside the box. Apparently, it will include a Quick Start Guide, USB-C cable, and a SIM-ejector.

Just like the report says, the poster doesn’t include the Charging Adapter and earphones as an in-box content. Previously, reports have said that Samsung will exclude chargers and earphones in regions like the UK. While we would have expected Samsung to at least include the AKG earphones, sadly looks like that isn’t going to happen either.

Apple began all this with the iPhone 12 series launch. It said that not including Chargers will reduce logistics, transportation cost, saves space, and reduces the overall Carbon footprint. This according to the company would be a headstart for a sustainable environment.

It is also reported to unveil the Galaxy Buds Pro as well as Galaxy SmartTag. Ahead of it, the firm has started taking pre-orders in multiple regions across the world. However, the offer in Thailand is more intriguing than any other.

The Thailand division of Samsung is running an exciting promo called ‘RESERVE THE EPIC’ for the Galaxy S21 series on its official website. According to the description, the first 100 customers who order a pre-defined model, can get the device for only ฿21 ($0.70) by trading-in a digital camera.

Since the page reads ‘pre-defined model’, the exact Galaxy S21 model is a mystery. It can be any of the three but still not bad for less than a dollar and an old working digital camera, which can be either DSLR, DSLR-like, mirrorless, compact, or action. Additionally, these 100 customers, as well as the next 1,000 customers, will get a 1-year Samsung Care+ plan worth ฿2,939 ($98). 

That said, in order to stand a chance to claim this offer, interested customers will have to register on the campaign page before 6:00 PM (local time), January 14. Customers who register will receive a unique code on their email ID. They will have to use that code when pre-ordering the device between  10:00 AM, January 21 – 11:59 PM, January 28.

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones on Jan. 14 through a global launch event. Ahead of the launch, the pricing of the Galaxy S21 trio for European markets has already appeared in recent reports. A fresh report by ET News has revealed the South Korean pricing of the S21 models.

According to the report, the Galaxy S21 will be priced at 1,000,000 KRW (~$916)and the Galaxy S21 Plus will be priced at 1,119,000 KRW (~$1,025). The Galaxy S21 Ultra will carry a price tag of 1,450,000 KRW (~$1,329). In comparison, the predecessor models such as Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra had debuted with costlier price tags. At the launch, these models were priced at 1,248,000 KRW (~$1,148), 1,353,000 KRW (~$1,240), and 1,595,000 KRW, respectively.

After hosting the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, the Galaxy S21 models will be available for reservations in the home market until Jan. 21. Customers who reserved will be allowed to place orders for S21 models between Jan. 22 and Jan. 28. The sales of the Galaxy S21 series will finally begin on Jan. 29 in South Korea.

As compared to the predecessor models, the Galaxy S21 models will be debuting a month earlier and it will be arriving with cheaper price tags. The South Korean publication mentions that the company has taken such a decision to increases sales by reducing consumer burden and to counter the iPhone 12 series, which is the first generation 5G-enabled smartphone from Apple. Samsung also aims to dominate the premium smartphone market at a time when Huawei is currently with the ongoing US sanctions.

In a bid to reduce the price, Samsung is offering only Full HD+ resolution support on the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ models. In comparison, the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 carried support for quad HD+ resolution. Also, the S21 will be sporting a plastic build instead of glass. Recent reports have revealed that Samsung has excluded chargers from the retail packages of the S21 models in some regions to sell them at reduced prices.

Samsung has reportedly allotted 60 precent of the production of the S21 series to its base/standard model. The report mentions that difference between standard and premium (ultra) variants is getting narrower. These days, consumers are averse to pricey models and are opting for cheaper models. People are now more inclined towards base models since they come with premium features at affordable prices.

According to an iFeng report, fake imitations of the South Korean tech giant’s latest high end handset are already out in the market. This arrives just prior to the launch conference for the 2020 Galaxy flagship series from Samsung. The report also featured images of the copycat variants of the Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Looking at these images, it can be observed that both devices resemble previously leaked renders and designs of the Samsung flagship.

In other words, the actual Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra might also feature a similar physical appearance, although, that is just speculation so take it with pinch of salt for now. The Galaxy S21+ features a 6.3 inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a 6.9 inch 2K display.

Under the hood, the entire lineup will likely sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the non Snapdragon variants will house the new Exynos 2100 processor. Recent reports have revealed the pricing of the S21 models for some markets. Reputed tipster Evan Blass has shared a new leak that reiterates the camera specs of the S21 trio.

The Galaxy S21 5G and Galaxy S21 Plus 5G will both feature a 10-megpaixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The rear-facing camera module of the S21 features a 12-megapixel primary with f/2.2 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture. The main and telephoto lenses are expected to arrive with OIS support. The triple cameras are assisted by an LED flash.

The Galaxy S21+ 5G features the same triple camera setup found on the S21. As it is known through past leaks, the S21+ will be coming with a larger display and a bigger battery as compared to the vanilla model.

The rear camera housing of the smartphone features a 108-megapixel main camera (probably, the new HM2 or HM3 lens) with f/1.8 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and another 10-megapixel telephoto snapper with f/4.9 aperture. The two telephoto sensors are expected to offer 3x optical zoom and 10x optical zoom, respectively.

The main sensor and the telephoto lenses of the S21 Ultra are said to be equipped with OIS support. The camera housing of the S21 Ultra also features an LED flash and a laser autofocus unit.

Recent reports have revealed that the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are equipped with 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch, and 6.8-inch S-AMOLED panels with punch-hole design, respectively. The Ultra variant will support QHD+ resolution and the other will offer FHD+ resolution. These phones will also come with 120Hz refresh rate support and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanners. They are expected to house 4,000mAh, 4,800mAh, and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively.

The Galaxy S21 and S21+ will have a 12-megapixel (main) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 64-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera setup. The Ultra model will be equipped with a 108-megapixel (main) + 12-megapixel (ultrawide) + 10-megapixel (telephoto) + 10-megapixel (telephoto) quad camera setup. Both phones feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that offers Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 60 to 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits brightness, ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader, and Gorilla Glass 7 protection. The S21 offers 52pi pixel density, while the S21+ supports only 394ppi. The Galaxy S21 will come with a plastic rear, while the S21+ will have a glass back.

The Galaxy S21 5G has a 4,000mAh battery and it measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 171 grams. On the other side, the Galaxy S21+ 5G has a larger 4,800mAh battery and it has a thickness of 7.8mm and weighs 202 grams. Both phones are preinstalled with One UI 3.1 based Android 11 OS. The retail package of the S21 duo will not feature a charger. These phones carry support for 25W fast charging, and they are also equipped with wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

According to a South Korean YouTube channel called Super Roader (via LetsGoDigital), the entire Galaxy S21 lineup will come equipped with a reinforced polycarbonate back panel just like the Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy S20 FE.

Anyway, this is not the first time we are hearing about Samsung using a plastic back for the Galaxy S21 series. But the previous reports suggested that only the regular Galaxy S21 and Galaxy 21+ will feature this material. On the other hand, the new piece of information says that even the ultra-premium Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with a plastic rear panel.

The YouTuber(Johyun Lee) who shared this detail is an ex-Samsung employee and he has previously revealed some accurate details about unreleased products. Yesterday, a leak from India revealed that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 series on January 14. According to Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru, India, the device will go on sale from January 29 in India as tipped in earlier reports. Now, the same store has confirmed that the Indian variant won’t feature the Snapdragon 888 SoC, along with the colors of the devices.

Samsung’s flagship retail store has reportedly confirmed to Android Authority that the entire Galaxy S21 series will be powered by the Exynos 2100 chipset in India. However, Samsung hasn’t announced it yet, and is likely to do it on December 15. Early benchmarks reveal a stronger multi-core performance against the Qualcomm counterpart.

However, it’s still a mystery if Samsung‘s processor will surpass Qualcomm in real-world tests. Either way, it is sure to turn eyeballs with a 5nm process and 1+3+4 core arrangement. The cores are likely 1xPrime core clocked at 2.91GHz, 3xPerformance and 4xEfficiency cores clocked at 2.81, and 2.21GHz respectively.

In case you don’t know, Samsung will launch three models of the S21 Series- Galaxy S21 5G, S21+ 5G, S21 Ultra 5G. Anyway, the Galaxy S21 Series will have the following color variants in India:

• Galaxy S21– Gray, Pink, Purple, and White.
• Galaxy S21 Plus–  Silver, Black, Pink, and Purple.
• Galaxy S21 Ultra– Black, Silver.

Further, the store has also confirmed the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera specs that have already been leaked. Accordingly, the device will have a 108MP main camera, 2x10MP sensors(one will have 10x Zoom), and most likely a 12MP sensor.

The device is reportedly up for pre-orders in the flagship store. Users will have to pay ₹2,000($27) to pre-book an S21 flagship. And after the official announcement, they can select their preferred model. With all these leaks, I guess the only thing that is left to know is the official pricing.

We are probably just four to five weeks away from the Galaxy S21 series launch. Samsung is expected to unveil three devices- Galaxy S21 5G, S21+ 5G, S21 Ultra 5G on January 14. Ahead of this, a lot of leaks, including official teasers are appearing online. And now, a tipster says the device will have an improved fingerprint sensor after two years.

Ice Universe, a popular tipster, says that Samsung has improved the Ultrasonic Fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S21. According to him, it will be the first upgrade since the Galaxy S10 from 2019. In case you don’t know, Samsung introduced the Qualcomm’s UltraSonic Fingerprint technology at the launch of the Galaxy S10 series.

Unlike optical scanners, an ultrasonic fingerprint uses a sound-wave to read your fingerprint. Back then, it was integrated within the display and once you touch the scanning area, the pressure of the finger will send an electric pulse. This pulse will nudge the ‘3D Sonic Sensor’ that reads and authenticates the entry. However, as promised, the fingerprint sensor didn’t live up to the expectations.

But it could change now as tipster says the fingerprint sensor on Galaxy S21 will be a 8×8=64mm. Apparently, this is 1.77 times higher than the previous generation. I think he is probably referring to the larger scanning area here but let’s wait for more details. That said, if Ice Universe’s statement is true, users just require a tap on the area as the unlocking speed is going to be doubled.

Anyway, considering fingerprint is a necessary feature, Samsung will mostly include the same fingerprint across models. However, we will have to wait and see the real-world testing to believe these early claims.

Samsung has also teased an event on December 15, where it’s expected to unveil the Exynos 2100 SoC that probably powers the Galaxy S21 series. Out of the three, Galaxy S21, and S21+ will have an identical design but different specs. That is a 6.2-inch FHD+ display and 4,000mAh battery on the former, and a 6.7-inch FHD+ display and 4,800mAh battery on the latter.

The S21 Ultra will have a QHD+ 120Hz display, 108MP main rear camera, 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP 3x, 10MP 10x Telephoto lens, 5,000mAh  battery with S-Pen support. Reports also say that Galaxy S21 series is already up for blind pre-orders and hint a similar price tag as the predecessors.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch in mid-January 2021. The successor to the Galaxy S20 series will include three models consisting of Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The design of all three smartphones has already leaked in the form of renders as well as a live image. Now, new high-quality renders of these phones showcase them in all colors.

LetsGoDigital is well-known for patent and trademark-related stories. The publication also releases concept renders as well as renders based on leaks. But the new Galaxy S21 renders are based on information acquired from sources close to Samsung. Hence, the publication says that these renders are identical to the final products that will be released next month.

Since we have covered all the leaks of the Galaxy S21 series so far, we won’t be going through their entire specs in this article. Instead, we will talk about the new information revealed by this leak along with a few primary specs.

First and foremost, these renders are designed by an Italian designer called Giuseppe Spinelli (Snoreyn) based on details provided by LetsGoDigitial’s industry sources. With that being said, let us talk about some details.

According to these renders, the SIM card slot on the Galaxy S21 series will be located at the bottom, instead of the top. Further, they will come with a distinct camera array design. The regular Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ will feature an identical triple camera setup, whereas the Galaxy S21 Ultra will sport a more advanced quad-camera setup.

Also, interestingly, only the ‘Ultra’ model will flaunt a metal and glass sandwich build since the ‘Plus’ and ‘Standard’ model will come with a plastic and metal build just like the Galaxy Note20.

Similarly, only the expensive model will be equipped with a curved WQHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate as found on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. Interestingly, this panel will also support the S Pen stylus. On the other hand, the other two devices will include a flat FHD+ LTPS AMOLED display with a regular 120Hz refresh rate.

Although all three of them will be powered by the same Snapdragon 888/Exynos 2100 chipsets and run the identical Android 11-based One UI 3.1 operating system, the UWB chip will be limited to the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. As far as colors are concerned, the Galaxy S21 will be available in three colors (Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray, Phantom White), whereas the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra will arrive in three (Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, Phantom Violet), and two colors (Phantom Black, Phantom Silver) respectively.

Last but not least, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series is reported to be cheaper than the Galaxy S20 series.

The Galaxy S21 series will be the next big launch in the smartphone world. The trio is expected to be announced in mid-January. Ahead of it, they have leaked multiple times over the past few days. Now, the first live image of Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra appear along with their camera specs.

The latest leak of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series comes from a YouTube channel called sakitech. The person behind this channel obtained a live picture of Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S21+ side by side from an anonymous source. Apart from showing the image, the YouTuber also details the camera specifications.

Talking about the design first, the phones in the photo look similar to the 3D CAD renders by OnLeaks and xleaks7. They will arrive with a distinct camera array design, which is an improved version of the camera bump present on the Galaxy Note20 series. 

But unfortunately, both the devices in the photo are in Phantom Black color. Hopefully, we get to see more color options of the Galaxy S21 series before their official announcement.

Now coming to cameras, the larger Galaxy S21 Ultra will sport a quad-camera system, whereas the Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 will come with an identical triple camera system. The former’s camera specs are not only revealed by this video but also by Ice Universe who tweeted a different picture.

Anyway, according to both of them, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with the following camera setup.

• Ultra-wide – 12MP IMX563 sensor, 1.4µm pixel, f1/2.55” lens, Dual-PD AF

The design of this trio has already leaked. However, we have only seen the detailed renders of the base model and the high-end model so far. But not anymore as new high-quality 3D CAD renders of Galaxy S21+ have emerged.

The renders of Galaxy S21+ silver color variant come from the Italian case maker Pigtou in collaboration with a leakster called xleaks7 on Twitter. 

According to the leak, the phone will feature an identical design as the other two models.  It is said to flaunt a 6.8-inch flat display with a centered punch-hole camera. But according to a previous leak, this handset will come equipped with an FHD+ AMOLED panel (LTPS) with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Further, the back of the device, which is yet to be determined (glass or polycarbonate) will house a unique triple camera design. This setup will include a 12MP wide-angle shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide angle snapper, and a 64MP telephoto camera.

As for buttons and ports, the volume rockers and power key will be located on the right side, whereas the USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and primary microphone will be at the bottom. The left side will be empty as the SIM card slot along with the secondary microphone will be at the top.

In addition, a new report by Reuters claims that Samsung is not planning to launch the Galaxy Note 21 next year.

Galaxy S21 series could be available with a hefty price cut

A new rumor from South Korea reveals that the Galaxy S21 could be priced between $849 and $899, the Galaxy S21+ could be costing between $1,049 and $1,1099, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra could be priced between $1,249 and $1,299. It seems that the Galaxy S21 series could be available with a hefty price cut since the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra were priced at $999, $1,199, and $1,399, respectively, at launch.

Samsung has been consistently increasing the prices of its flagship phones every year. There is a possibility that the Galaxy S21 series arriving with better specs than its predecessor could be priced higher. Hence, it is advisable to digest the pricing leak with a grain of salt.

Samsung Galaxy Note line may get discontinued

Reuters reported that there has a sharp decline in the demand for high-end smartphones due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This could be one of the reasons why Samsung may not launch the Galaxy Note 2021 next year. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Samsung does not have plans to develop a Galaxy Note phone for the coming year.

Instead, the highest model of the S21 series (Galaxy S21 Ultra) will be equipped with S Pen support. The S Pen could be available as an optional accessory for S21 Ultra buyers. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 that is expected to debut next year is speculated to carry support for S Pen.

Yesterday, a report by The Elec said that Samsung has postponed the launch of Galaxy Z Flip2 (tentative branding), the successor to the popular Galaxy Z Flip. This is said to help the company to prevent cannibalizing the sales of the Galaxy S21 series.

The same report also revealed some more details of the next-gen Galaxy S series phones. First and foremost, Samsung is said to start manufacturing the Galaxy S21 series next month (December) itself and the initial production batch will only include 6 million units. The firm is expected to produce more units based on demand.

Further, the Galaxy S21 will be available in four colors namely gray, pink, violet, and white. Whereas, the Galaxy S21+ will come in three colors – black, silver & violet. Anyway, Samsung may introduce new colors (limited to certain regions) after the launch of these phones just like every year.

Last but not least, the report also says that Samsung will be manufacturing 1.5 million units of Galaxy Buds 2 (tentative branding) codenamed Attic in December and January respectively. The company’s next-gen TWS will be initially made in Vietnam but the production will be further extended to Brazil in February.

Multiple reports have said that the Galaxy S21 series will be launching early next year. A leaker even revealed that the Galaxy Unpacked event is set for January 14. Now, new info says that Samsung will launch the phone in February just as it did this year.

The report is from Android Headlines and they say got the info from an insider source, one that is trustworthy, which is why they are making it public. The source revealed to them that the launch will hold in February but didn’t reveal the exact date.

This is the first report saying that the Galaxy S21 series will launch in February as practically everyone has reported a January launch date. Nevertheless, we advise our readers to take all info about the launch date with a pinch of salt until there is an official announcement.

It is possible that the phones were scheduled for a January release date but new developments have caused the date to be pushed back to February.

Qualcomm is yet to announce the Snapdragon 875 processor which will power the Galaxy S21 series in select markets. Samsung is also yet to unveil the Exynos 2100 that will ship with the Exynos variants of the S21 series. There is a Snapdragon summit scheduled for early December and the chipset should be announced there, however, there are concerns that the processor may not be available early enough for it to start appearing in phones in January.

The Galaxy S21 series includes the standard Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21 Plus, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. There will also be a Galaxy S21 FE but that should arrive much later in the year. All phones will support 5G, have displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and run One UI 3 based on Android 11 out of the box. It has also been reported that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will have support for the S Pen, a first for the Galaxy S series. However, the stylus will have to be purchased separately.

The Galaxy S21 series will arrive pretty early next year. As revealed by a leaker, the new phones will be announced on January 14 and will go on sale on January 29. We already know what the phones will look like thanks to CAD renders. Now, the key specifications of the three phones have been revealed along with some interesting details.

The leak confirms that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in two processor variants. In some markets, the phone will come with the Exynos 2100 processor while in others, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 875. The Exynos chipset will be better at power efficiency than its predecessors, so battery life should get an upgrade. It is also said to match or even outperform the Snapdragon 875 with respect to performance

Below are the specs and features for each model as reported by Android Police:

Galaxy S21

The standard Galaxy S21 will have a 6.2-inch LTPS display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is no info on RAM and storage but that should vary from market to market.

On the back of the phone will be three cameras which is the same configuration as that of the Galaxy S20. So you get a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP main sensor, and a 64MP telephoto camera. The selfie camera is not stated but that may also remain unchanged from the 10MP sensor we have on this year’s model.

The cameras will be getting software upgrades such as support for 4K @60fps recording on all cameras, support for 60fps recording in Super Steady Stabilization mode, and the ability to automatically switch between 30fps and 60fps depending on the lighting conditions. Other stated features are 8K video recording at 30fps, support for dual recording (front and rear cameras at the same time), and an improved moon mode.

Samsung is also sticking to the same 4000mAh battery capacity of the S20. The phone will run One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 and will have 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1. It will be available in Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray, and Phantom White. Just like the Galaxy Note 20, the Galaxy S21 will have a plastic back. Apparently, Samsung says the reception of the Galaxy Note 20’s plastic body was better received than it expected.

Galaxy S21 Plus

The Galaxy S21 Plus will come with a bigger 6.7-inch display but the resolution is now FHD+ and not QHD+. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate but it is not adaptive. That feature is exclusive to the Ultra model.

The camera configuration on the back is also 12MP + 12MP + 64MP and you get the same software features as the standard variant. The battery capacity has been increased from 4500mAh in the Galaxy S20 Plus to 4800mAh. It will also run One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 and will be available in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet. There is no confirmation on the material the backplate of the Galaxy S21 Plus will be made of.

Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is said to feature one of the best displays on a smartphone. The 6.8-inch screen has a WQHD+ LTPO display with a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and a peak brightness that reaches 1600 nits. The contrast ratio has also been increased to 3,000,000:1

Its quad-camera setup consists of a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 108MP sensor which is a newer version of the one in the S20 Ultra; a telephoto 10MP sensor with 3x optical zoom, and another 10MP super-telephoto sensor with 10x optical zoom which brings 100X Space Zoom. The two telephoto sensor are said to have 130% larger pixels and dual pixel autofocus. There is also a laser focus system on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Plus and Ultra models are the only two that will have Ultra Wide Band support. The feature will be used for tracking the upcoming SmartThings tags. The source also mentions that the two phones will also have support for digital car keys but this feature may be available in select regions.

The phone will also have Bluetooth 5.1 and will be the only model with Wi-Fi 6E. It will have a 5000mAh battery under the hood. Another feature that has been confirmed is S Pen support but it will be purchased separately along with custom cases that have a slot for storing the stylus.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will come in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver and will have a glass back.

Design and Price

The source confirms that the design of the three phones matches what the CAD renders have shown us. They claim they have also seen press renders but can’t show them so as to protect their insider source.

With respect to price, it is said that the Galaxy S21 series will be cheaper than the Galaxy S20 series due to the recession and pandemic ad also to make them more competitive. Sadly, there is no specific info on how much each model will cost. There is also no confirmation that the phones will not ship with a charger.
