<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Samsung</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has been experimenting with plastic back on its smartphones for years. The company introduced the so-called glasstic panel on the Galaxy A series. This glossy polycarbonate back feels cheap as it not only attracts smudges but also scratches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Then, the firm debuted the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy Note20</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> with a matte polycarbonate rear finish. The same material later made its way to the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Galaxy+S20+FE"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy S20 FE</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s21-5g/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy S21</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Even the mid-range </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Galaxy+A52"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A52</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a72/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy A72</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> use a similar finish but of lower quality.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Seems like customers don’t mind the shift from glass to plastic, as much as the tech community. Hence, Samsung is </span><a href="https://blog.naver.com/yeux1122/222398093413"><span style="font-weight: 400">rumored</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> (via </span><a href="https://twitter.com/FrontTron/status/1404414597067538433"><span style="font-weight: 400">@FrontTron</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">) to use polycarbonate back on both the Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ in 2022.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Anyway, this is still not confirmed. Hence, we will have to wait a little further for more information. If it happens to be true, then the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be the only device in the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Galaxy-S22/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy S22</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> series with a rear glass panel.</span></p>
