Almost everyone was expecting Samsung to kick off the One UI 7.0 rollout this week, but the latest information spoils the excitement and brings more disappointment to Galaxy fans. Reliable Samsung tipster Ice Universe has revealed that the Galaxy S24 series will get its fourth One UI 7 beta to address the screen color calibration problem.

The third One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 models has an issue with the screen color calibration that makes the display look more yellow than ideal colors. Samsung has fixed the issue, which is included in the fourth beta. It should roll out very soon to existing beta users.

Samsung hasn’t announced when it will release the fourth One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series or revealed the stable release date. However, the brand typically takes about a week to roll out the stable version after the final beta goes live. So, even if the fourth beta arrives this week, Galaxy S24 owners may have to wait at least another week for the stable One UI 7 update.

With this update, Samsung also introduces a split notification center and Quick Settings panel, which is already a thing in many Chinese smartphones. Now, you can swipe from the right to access Quick Settings and from the left for the notification center.

Other changes include a redesigned battery indicator, new icons for native apps, and more adaptive charging options, like limiting charging to 80%. Samsung has also added fresh widgets and enhanced Galaxy AI features.

So as of right now, the One UI 7 beta is exclusive to the high end smartphones and excludes the Galaxy S24 FE.

Registrations to join the beta program open at midnight, although it is only rolling out in Germany at the moment. So the beta is also limited to Samsung’s German customers. The brand will likely release the One UI 7 beta in other regions in the coming weeks. This is a major software update that brings massive changes to the UI. This update not only brings the new Android 15 OS, it also brings a visual overhaul and revamped animations. These changes in the UI can be best seen in the control center.

You also get a refreshed design on the new media player. Known tipster Ice Universe also shared a short video of him using the One UI 7 on a Galaxy S24 series model. Samsung is finally rolling out the Android 14 OS based One UI 6.1.1 update in more countries. The company released the latest software update for the Galaxy S24 series in its home market of South Korea. And now, it is seeing a wider release, finally arriving in more regions.

Galaxy S24 One UI 6.1.1 Update: Where is it available?

To recall, Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 was first announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. So the latest update is bringing a bunch of features from the latest flagship foldable smartphones. While the initial release was in South Korea, the Galaxy S24 owners in the US and China are also getting the update. The Galaxy S24 series in Europe are also set to get the update soon.

The update comes with the firmware version S9280ZHU3AXH7 in China and S928USQU3AXH7 in the US. One UI 6.1.1 also arrives with the August 2024 security patch. It is a major update with a download size of over 2.8GB. To check if you’ve received the update, head to ‘Settings’ then the ‘Software update’ menu, and hit the Download and Install option. As of right now, this is still a limited release so we can expect other countries to get the update in the coming days.

The idea for the Eco-Friends products comes from Samsung’s Future Generation Lab. They focus on making products that are good for the environment. The cases and straps are made from recycled plastic and vegan leather, ensuring that at least 40% of the material used has been recycled.

Since it started in 2022, the Eco-Friends line has grown to include designs with famous characters and symbols from around the world, like Sanrio’s Hello Kitty, and pop culture icons such as The Rolling Stones. There’s also a special partnership with the K-pop group Stray Kids, which lets fans access exclusive content through NFC cards included with the cases.

The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy S24 lineup infographic was shared on X (formerly Twitter) via WigettaGaming. In the specs sheet, we can see that the Galaxy series will feature the Exynos 2400 for the global markets. Although, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are said to ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for the US and Canada. In other words, it is going to back to its usual cycle again of launching its devices with Snapdragon processors in the US while the rest of the world gets the Exynos variants.

Apart from this, the infographic confirms that the entire lineup will launch with the AMOLED LTPO display that has a variable refresh rate ranging from 1-120Hz. The Galaxy S24 sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ panel, while the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra arrive with 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch QHD+ panels respectively. Galaxy Club, a Dutch website, has found a number of other applications in several countries, one of which reveals that the Galaxy S24 will be launched as an AI phone. But these alleged dummy pictures hint at the design of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ retain the flat back and rounded corners, while the top end Ultra model retains a more boxy design.

Simply put, the design of the upcoming Samsung flagship phones is quite similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 lineup. There are some slight design element changes, which include flatter sides. Previous rumors had hinted at the various new colors of the Galaxy S24 lineup. The devices are expected to arrive in multiple variants like Black, Purple, and Gold color options. But the dummy units can be seen in a white color hue only.

The images of the TPU protective covers were leaked by known tipster Ice Universe, who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). Looking at the images, the South Korean tech giant’s next gen flagship phones won’t feature any notable changes in design over its predecessors. In other words, the Galaxy S24 lineup will feature similar design elements as the Galaxy S23 series.

Notably, the TPU covers are also in line with the leaked CAD renders that were shared by another tipster, OnLeaks. The Galaxy S24 Ultra’s rear camera module retains the familiar vertical stacked image sensors. For those unaware, the triple camera setup on the rear features the ISOCELL HP2SX 200-megapixel primary camera, which is paired with an ultra wide angle lens, and a periscopic telephoto shooter.

Although, there will be slight enhancements in design. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature thinner bezels compared to last year’s Galaxy S23 Ultra. In other words, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galayxy S24 Ultra model might arrive with titanium frames. For a bit of context, Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 15 series, with the higher end Pro models offering a titanium frame as well. So it appears that Samsung may also offer a similar choice for its flagship smartphone lineup.

The tipster further added that the brand could source the Titanium frames for the base model from its South Korean factory. However, Samsung might seek its partner companies to supply the titanium on the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra models. Since these devices will feature titanium, we can also expect the upcoming premium phones to be slightly lighter than their previous iterations. Apple’s move to titanium was to lower the weight of the iPhones since steel is much heavier.

Samsung Electronics has confirmed its plans to reintroduce its in-house Exynos chipset to its flagship lineup of smartphones, specifically the Galaxy S series. The announcement was made during the company’s Q1 2023 earnings call by Hyeokman Kwon, Vice President of the DS Division at Samsung LSI, who stated that they are “pushing for the return of Exynos to the flagship of the Galaxy series.”

Exynos SoCs likely to power next Galaxy S flagship lineup

While Kwon did not explicitly mention the Galaxy S24 lineup, it is widely known that Samsung introduces new chipsets to its flagship Galaxy S lineup rather than the Galaxy Z series.

Kwon also did not specify which Exynos chipset Samsung is planning to use, it is believed that the Exynos 2400 chipset is the most likely candidate since it is the only high-end chipset under development by the company. However, there are rumors that Samsung may use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra variants while using the Exynos 2400 only in the standard Galaxy S24 model.

While this may come as a disappointment for Samsung fans in Europe and Asia, who have experienced issues with the Exynos SoC in the past. Samsung’s Exynos chipsets have a mixed reputation in the tech industry. Unlike the Galaxy S22 line released in 2022, the latest Galaxy S23 series is only being sold with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This suggests that Samsung has finally decided not to use Exynos SoCs in its flagship devices. It turns out that this is not the case, as the Korean company is rumored to be working on a new Exynos 2400 processor that may power the next year’s S24 series.

Exynos 2400 has been leaking through the rumor mill a lot recently. And today a Korean publication has claimed the said SoC will be found under the hood of some Galaxy S24 series models. However, there is no news about which regions will get the Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 variants. As per the report, the chipset will start mass production in 2024, but it won’t be manufactured using Samsung’s cutting-edge 3GAP node. Instead, it will use the ‘improved’ 4LPP variant.

Reports suggest, unlike other mobile SoCs that feature an octa-core architecture, the upcoming Exynos platform will have 10 cores. The chipset may have the following cores: one Cortex-X4 (3.1 GHz), two Cortex-A720 cores (2.9 GHz), three Cortex-A720 cores (2.6 GHz) and four Cortex-A520 cores (1.8 GHz). Since Samsung is shifting to deca-core architecture, it’s possible other manufacturers may also follow the lead.

While one may not have high hopes for an Exynos chip, judging from the leaked details, the Exynos 2400 processor looks promising. However, there’s only so much you can learn from dry specs. Currently, it’s not even certain if the Exynos 2400 will actually power the Galaxy S24 series, as Samsung could very well have different plans for the upcoming lineup.
