<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim </a>has already been spotted in various rumors and reports. But while the official announcement is still a while away, a new report has confirmed the regional availability of this upcoming ultra thin flagship smartphone.</p>

<h2>Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Availability</h2>

<p>According to a <em><a href="https://www.phonearena.com/news/exclusive-the-galaxy-s25-slim-may-land-only-in-these-locations_id166780" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">PhoneArena </a></em>report, the South Korean tech giant will only launch the Galaxy S25 Slim in specific countries. The report lists 39 markets in total. But funnily enough, the Galaxy S25 Slim does not include the US or Canada. Although it does cover most major markets apart from these. This includes regions like India, which is one of the biggest markets for smartphones. Other markets that will be getting the Galaxy S25 Slim include:</p>

<ul><li>Afghanistan</li><li>Australia</li><li>Austria</li><li>Brazil</li><li>Caucasus</li><li>Croatia</li><li>Egypt</li><li>France</li><li>Iraq</li><li>Ireland</li><li>Israel</li><li>Kazakhstan</li><li>Kenya</li><li>Libya</li><li>Malaysia</li><li>Mexico</li><li>Morocco</li><li>Nigeria</li><li>Pakistan</li><li>Philippines</li><li>Poland</li><li>Portugal</li><li>Russia</li><li>Saudi Arabia</li><li>Senegal</li><li>Serbia/Montenegro</li><li>Singapore</li><li>Slovenia</li><li>South Africa</li><li>Srilanka</li><li>Switzerland</li><li>Thailand</li><li>Tunisia</li><li>Turkey</li><li>UAE</li><li>United Kingdom</li><li>Uzbekistan</li><li>Vietnam</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="728" height="409" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-4.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668847" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-4.png 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-4-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-4-696x391.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Leaked CAD Renders</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Unfortunately, that is all the information that was revealed regarding this new device. But based on what we know so far, the Galaxy S25 Slim may pack <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/20/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7-cutdown-snapdragon-8-elite/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Qualcomm&#8217;s 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite</a>. Initial rumors had even hinted at an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/20/the-galaxy-s25-slim-may-launch-exclusively-in-south-korea-like-the-galaxy-z-fold-se-heres-why/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exclusive South Korean release</a> as well. While the official launch date is still unclear, the rumors hint at a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/14/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-may-launch-in-may/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">May 2025 announcement</a>.</p>

<p>The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim had its design revealed via leaked <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/16/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-design-revealed-via-cad-renders-thin-profile-may-impact-battery-life/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CAD renders that showcased its thin profile</a>. While this could impact its battery capacity and battery life, the smartphone might be the first from the company to feature silicon carbon batteries. To recall, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-13/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus 13</a> and other latest Chinese flagship also offer this battery technology.</p>

So here&#8217;s what we know.</p>

<h2>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 &amp; Galaxy S25 Slim May Pack 7-Core Variant Snapdragon 8 Elite</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="500" height="500" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7" class="wp-image-666541" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7.png 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>To recall, Qualcomm announced a new version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite with an SM8750-3-AB model number. This processor is basically being developed for either next gen foldable or upcoming ultra slim smartphones. The only major difference with the original version is that the new AP has one less CPU core. So instead of eight cores, the binned versions pack seven cores.</p>

<p>Out of these 2 are prime cores that run at a 4.32GHz clock speed, while the rest are five high performance cores that run at 3.53GHz frequency. This means that the seven core chipset won&#8217;t cost as much as the octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite. In other words, the brands would likely opt for this Snapdragon 8 Elite variant for budget flagship phones or new foldable devices. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Slim would likely pack this new chipset. Another variant that could feature this processor is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 SE.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="Snapdragon-8-Elite" class="wp-image-658047" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Snapdragon-8-Elite.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Snapdragon 8 Elite</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>For those unaware, this is a binned version of this chip so you can expect it to have slightly weaker performance than the standard variant. But this also means that the 7 core Snapdragon 8 Elite would offer better thermals, which could be key for foldable or super thin phones. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/20/oppo-find-n5-geekbench-listing-reveals-7-core-snapdragon-8-elite-chip/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo Find N5 was recently spotted on GeekBench </a>with this chipset. Its performance was quite similar to the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite. So you likely aren&#8217;t missing out on much either.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup is one of the most anticipated launches of the year, but there’s a catch—one of its rumored models, the Galaxy S25 Slim, might not even make it to the US. Industry insider Evan Blass just dropped this bombshell on his private X account, and it’s leaving fans scratching their heads.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="728" height="409" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-3.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668846" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-3.png 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-3-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-3-696x391.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></figure>

<h2>Samsung may follow a similar strategy to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition</h2>

<p>So far, we’ve heard that the Galaxy S25 Slim wasn’t going to launch alongside its siblings on January 22. Instead, it was reportedly <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/14/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-may-launch-in-may/">delayed until May</a>. But now, Blass claims US carriers won’t even be selling the phone. That’s right: the Slim may not be available in the US at all.</p>

<p>And that’s not all. Blass suggests that the name “Galaxy S25 Slim” might not even stick, which makes things even more confusing. He also hinted that the phone could land between the Galaxy S25 Plus and Ultra in terms of price and marketing—at least in the markets where it does launch.</p>

<p>This situation isn’t entirely new for Samsung. Take the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/21/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-6-special-edition-launched/">Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition</a>, for example—a thinner, lighter foldable that’s only available in South Korea. Could the Galaxy S25 Slim meet a similar fate, restricted to select markets like Samsung’s home turf? It’s certainly possible.</p>

<h2>The slim form factor has at least one obvious limitation, as of now</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="728" height="409" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-2.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim CAD renders 2" class="wp-image-668845" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-2.png 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-2-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-Slim-CAD-renders-2-696x391.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim CAD renders </figcaption></figure>

<p>If you’re hoping the Galaxy S25 Slim will be worth the wait, temper your expectations. Early rumors painted a picture of a super-thin phone (around 5-6mm) with a sleek design. But that thinness likely means compromises—most notably in battery size. Unlike the upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup, which is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/17/galaxy-s26-series-rumored-to-adopt-silicon-carbon-battery-tech/">rumored</a> to feature silicon-carbon anode batteries, the Slim will probably stick to traditional Li-ion battery tech.</p>

<p>This means a smaller battery capacity, which could be a dealbreaker for many. And let’s face it: do we really need phones that are paper-thin if it means sacrificing battery life and durability? Probably not.</p>

<p>To make things more interesting, Blass’s post casts doubt on whether the Slim would even rival Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air. If it’s restricted to select markets, the competition may not matter much.</p>

<p>At this point, it’s looking less and less likely that we’ll see the Galaxy S25 Slim at Samsung’s Unpacked event next week. Of course, surprises aren’t off the table, but for now, all we can do is wait and see what Samsung officially announces.</p>

<p>Smartphone makers have always been in a race to achieve something remarkable—be it better cameras, powerful chipsets, or slimmer designs. But when it comes to slimness, battery life appears as the price to pay. Rumors suggest that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/apple/">Apple</a>’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s Galaxy S25 Slim will feature ultra-thin designs.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="iPhone 17 Air" class="wp-image-662010" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/iPhone-17-Air.jpg 1312w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to renowned Weibo tipster DCS, both devices are rumored to be <strong>around 5.x mm to 6.x mm thick</strong>, significantly slimmer than their predecessors—the Galaxy S24 and iPhone 16—both of which measure over 7.5mm in thickness.</p>

<h2>Slimmer designs, smaller batteries</h2>

<p>The iPhone 17 Air is rumored to go all-in on its slim profile, possibly trading off features like a multi-camera setup for a single rear camera. And now, leaks suggest that it’ll also pack a battery somewhere between <strong>3,000mAh and 4,000mAh</strong>. Although it seems like a decent number for an iPhone, consider the fact that the 7.8mm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-16/">iPhone 16</a> carries a battery with only 3561 mAh capacity.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="904" height="342" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/iPhonr-17-Air-Galaxy-S25-Slim-battery-thickness-DCS.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668997" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/iPhonr-17-Air-Galaxy-S25-Slim-battery-thickness-DCS.jpg 904w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/iPhonr-17-Air-Galaxy-S25-Slim-battery-thickness-DCS-300x113.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/iPhonr-17-Air-Galaxy-S25-Slim-battery-thickness-DCS-768x291.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/iPhonr-17-Air-Galaxy-S25-Slim-battery-thickness-DCS-696x263.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 904px) 100vw, 904px" /></figure>

<p>But Apple isn’t the only one cutting down. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Slim, another ultra-slim contender, might also land in the same boat. Despite an earlier claim of a 5,000mAh battery (matching the much bulkier <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-ultra/">Galaxy S25 Ultra</a>), tipster Digital Chat Station reports that the Galaxy S25 Slim (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/16/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-design-revealed-via-cad-renders-thin-profile-may-impact-battery-life/">CAD renders</a>) will also feature a capacity somewhere between 3000mAh to 4,000mAh.</p>

<p>The idea of squeezing larger batteries into such thin frames isn’t impossible—high-density silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery tech could help—but neither Apple nor Samsung seems ready to adopt it yet.</p>

<h2>What does it mean for the two devices?</h2>

<p>The rumored battery capacities are underwhelming, especially in a market where even mid-range Chinese phones are gearing up to launch with 7,500mAh batteries. Without high-capacity cells, Apple and Samsung will have to rely heavily on limiting the peak performance to extend battery life.</p>

<p>In fact, the Galaxy S25 Slim was recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/10/galaxy-s25-slim-appears-on-geekbench-with-the-lowest-scores-among-all-s25-models/">spotted on Geekbench</a> with the lowest scores of all the Galaxy S25 models, despite using the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This suggests potential performance throttling to save battery and prevent overheating in such a slim form factor. This is a tradeoff that may even affect some regular use cases like high-resolution video recording.</p>

<p>According to the tipster, Chinese brands are also working on similar slim models but with at least 5,000mAh batteries.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> is stepping up its creativity game with the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. One of the coolest upgrades coming with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/06/top-new-features-samsung-one-ui-7/#:~:text=One%20UI%207%20marks%20a,an%20advanced%20writing%20assist%20tool.">One UI 7</a> is an enhanced Sketch to Image feature. If you love to draw or have ever wished you could bring your imagination to life with just a few scribbles, this might just blow your mind. Samsung is adding multimodal capabilities, which means you can now combine sketches with text prompts to bring your imagination to reality better than ever.</p>

<h2>What&#8217;s Sketch to Image and what&#8217;s new in it?</h2>

<p>Sketch to Image isn’t exactly new—it debuted last year with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-6/">Galaxy Z Fold 6</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-6/">Z Flip 6</a>, and it’s already a handy tool. The idea is simple: you sketch something (even if you’re not much of an artist), and AI steps in to refine your drawing, turning it into a polished piece of art. For example, a few lines to represent a house could transform into a beautifully detailed sketch of a home, complete with style options.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-1024x682.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung multimodal Sketch to Image" class="wp-image-668859" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-768x511.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-696x463.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-1068x711.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image-631x420.jpg 631w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-multimodal-Sketch-to-Image.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>But with the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung is taking it to a whole new level. Now, you can sketch something and add a text prompt to totally transform it. For instance, draw a quick outline of a cat, type &#8220;spacesuit,&#8221; and voila! You’ve got a picture of a cat in a spacesuit. </p>

<p>Or maybe you’re imagining your dream home—just sketch a facade, then add prompts like &#8220;by the beach&#8221; or &#8220;in the mountains&#8221; to see how it would look in different settings.</p>

<p>Here’s the fun part: you’re not limited to just typing. The updated tool also supports voice prompts, so you can literally tell it what to do. Plus, it works with both the S Pen and your fingers, so you’re not stuck needing extra accessories.</p>

<h2>What else to expect from the Galaxy S25 series?</h2>

<p>Besides cool features like this, the Galaxy S25 series is shaping up to be a powerhouse. All models will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, meaning blazing-fast performance no matter where you live (yes, even outside the US and China).</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="575" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-1024x575.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image" class="wp-image-668711" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-768x431.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image-748x420.jpg 748w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-promo-image.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>There’s also buzz about the Galaxy S25 Slim (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/16/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-design-revealed-via-cad-renders-thin-profile-may-impact-battery-life/">CAD renders</a>), a smaller and sleeker version of the flagship, which is rumored to launch in May. With the S25 series, it seems like Samsung isn’t just giving us new phones—it’s redefining what smartphones can do.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> is reportedly gearing up to launch its highly anticipated <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S25 Slim</a> in May 2025. According to tipster Instant Digital, the launch may coincide with China’s 618 Shopping Festival, offering a strategic market entry during the high-demand period. Adding to the excitement, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely be available for pre-orders immediately after the official event, with deliveries starting post-Lunar New Year.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/10/galaxy-s25-slim-appears-on-geekbench-with-the-lowest-scores-among-all-s25-models/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">surfaced on GeekBench</a>, showcasing impressive hardware capabilities. Listed under the model number &#8220;SM-937U,&#8221; the device achieved an impressive single-core score of 3005 and a multi-core score of 6945. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and 12GB RAM, running One UI 7 on Android 15, debuting with the S25 series.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="811" height="179" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-75.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim leak" class="wp-image-668668" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-75.png 811w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-75-300x66.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-75-768x170.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/image-75-696x154.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 811px) 100vw, 811px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim will offer a thinner, lighter alternative to the S25 series, featuring a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is rumored to include Samsung&#8217;s ALoP camera technology with a 200MP HP5 primary sensor, 50MP JN5 3.5x telephoto lens, 50MP JN5 ultra-wide camera, and 12MP front camera.</p>

<p>Despite its ultra-slim 6.6mm profile, making it thinner than both the S25 and S25 Plus, the Galaxy S25 Slim could house a 4700mAh to 5000mAh battery. Rumors suggest it might be teased during this month’s Galaxy Unpacked event, following Samsung’s approach with the Galaxy Ring last year.</p>

<p>Talking about the Galaxy S25 series, which is set to launch on January 22, includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S25</a>, S25+, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">S25 Ultra</a>. The S25 and S25+ are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12GB+ RAM, triple rear cameras, and 120Hz displays ranging from 6.36 to 6.7 inches.</p>

<p>The flagship S25 Ultra features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 200MP quad-camera system, a titanium build, and a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired and Qi2 wireless charging.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim has appeared on Geekbench, and it is raising speculations that this smartphone might be presented at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>‘s Galaxy Unpacked event <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/07/samsung-officially-announces-launch-date-for-galaxy-s25-s25-plus-and-s25-ultra/">scheduled</a> on January 22. Again, the South Korean tech giant has its lips sealed tight on this matter. Still, the benchmark listing gives some interesting cues about what it could bring to the table.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="892" height="511" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668193" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1.png 892w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1-300x172.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1-768x440.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1-696x399.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1-733x420.png 733w" sizes="(max-width: 892px) 100vw, 892px" /></figure></div>

<h2>Galaxy S25 Slim scores nearly 7000 in Geekbench multi-core test</h2>

<p>The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim (model number SM-S937U) has surfaced on Geekbench and features some interesting hardware. The motherboard, which goes by the code name ‘sun,’ makes one suspect a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite in this device. The other three models are already pretty much confirmed to use the same chip.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="821" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-821x1024.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668194" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-821x1024.png 821w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-241x300.png 241w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-768x958.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-696x868.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-1068x1332.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1-337x420.png 337w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Slim-Geekbench-1.png 1232w" sizes="(max-width: 821px) 100vw, 821px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to the listing, the chipset provides a six-core setup at a speed of 3.53 GHz and two performance cores at a crazy high speed of 4.47 GHz. Equipped with 12GB RAM, the device scores 3,005 points in single-core and 6,945 in multi-core tests respectively.</p>

<p>It is to be noted that the performance figures aren’t that impressive for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, possibly due to a conservative approach toward performance. To be fair, other Galaxy S25 models have already popped up several times on the benchmarking platform. The base Galaxy S25 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/02/samsung-galaxy-s25-12gb-ram-geekbench/">hit 9,355 points</a> in the multi-core test and a similar single-core score of 2,986 points. The Ultra model <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/05/galaxy-s25-ultra-resurfaces-on-geekbench-with-significantly-improved-performance/">performed even better</a>, with 3,148 points in the single-core and a whopping 10,236 points in the multi-core test.</p>

<p>As per the listing, the Galaxy S25 Slim will ship with Android 15 right out of the box, which will likely include the One UI 7 skin on top. While the Geekbench listing doesn’t tell much else, the specs seem to indicate that the Galaxy S25 Slim won’t skimp on performance despite its focus on being a thinner, sleeker alternative.</p>

<h2>Will it launch alongside the other models?</h2>

<p>For months, the Galaxy S25 Slim has been marred by rumors and leaks. The new Galaxy Unpacked event invite just added to the hype, with four corners showing on the image. Many now think that perhaps the S25 Slim will also make an unexpected debut along with the standard, Plus, and Ultra models.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="384" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Unpacked-2025-768x384-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-668195" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Unpacked-2025-768x384-2.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Unpacked-2025-768x384-2-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Samsung-Galaxy-Unpacked-2025-768x384-2-696x348.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p>Interestingly, earlier reports had indicated that the Galaxy S25 Slim would be launched in Q2 2025, so an announcement this month would be ahead of schedule. Samsung appears to be positioning the S25 Slim as a direct competitor to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air, which is also focused on delivering a slim and lightweight design. You can check out some of the rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/23/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-leak-reveals-battery-display-size-launch-timeframe/">specifications of the Slim model here</a>.</p>

<p>Samsung’s Galaxy S series has long been the benchmark for Android flagship smartphones, and the upcoming Galaxy S25 series is shaping up to be no exception. We’re still a few weeks away from the launch, but most of the details are already out, thanks to leaks, which kept coming despite<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/24/samsung-strict-measures-galaxy-s25-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Samsung taking strict actions to stop them</a>, including firing a bunch of its employees.</p>

<p>There will be hardware upgrades, like a new chipset, camera sensor, and more. But the software will also play a crucial part, as it’s undergoing significant improvements, probably the biggest in recent years. While we wait for the official unveiling, let’s look at what’s already known about the Galaxy S25 series so far.</p>

<h2>Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Roundup: Everything You Need to Know</h2>

<p>According to a leaked Galaxy Unpacked banner, the event may take place on January 22nd, where the much-anticipated Galaxy S25 series will be uncovered. One UI 7 will also be announced at the event, which will come preinstalled on the newest Galaxy flagships.</p>

<h3>1. Rounded Corners, More Comfort</h3>

<p>Samsung has been consistent with its design language for the Galaxy S series, and the S25 series will be no different. That means no major design changes. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/08/galaxy-s25-ultra-closeup-renders-showcase-the-new-design-and-reveal-color-options/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leaked renders</a> from reputed sources verify the same. However, there are notable upgrades to improve the look and feel.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-1024x683.png?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-1024x683.png?x44794" alt="Galaxy S25 Ultra vs S24 Ultra design" class="wp-image-667337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-vs-S24-Ultra-design.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></a></div>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Ultra may have rounded corners, not the sharp edges you see on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">S24 Ultra</a>. While sharp corners give the S24 Ultra a stylish look, they tend to dig into the palm, making it uncomfortable to hold for a longer duration. The<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/08/27/galaxy-s25-ultra-rendering-shows-major-shift-in-design/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> rounded design of the S25 Ultra</a> gives it a refined look while also making it comfortable to hold.</p>

<p>The Ultra will get the titanium backing, again, while other models will have to satisfy themselves with an aluminum frame. We also expect an S Pen slot at the bottom for the Ultra model, just like its predecessors.</p>

<h3>2. Bigger and Brighter Screen</h3>

<p>The Galaxy S25 series, at least the Ultra model, is getting display upgrades. According to prolific tipster Ice Universe, the S25 Ultra’s screen measures 6.86 inches, slightly bigger than the S24 Ultra’s 6.8 inches.</p>

<p>Notably, the new smartphone will be 77.6mm wide (less than S24 Ultra’s 79mm), but Samsung has somehow managed to shrink the bezels to 2.3mm to achieve a bigger display. So, the S25 Ultra will have a higher screen-to-body ratio that will certainly improve the visual experience. The base Galaxy S25 might also have a slightly bigger 6.36-inch screen that matches iPhone 16 Pro’s.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel.jpg?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="676" height="680" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-646543" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel.jpg 676w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel-298x300.jpg 298w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Galaxy-S24-Ultra-vs-S25-Ultra-display-size-and-bezel-418x420.jpg 418w" sizes="(max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px" /></figure></div></a></div>

<p>Smartphone brands are emphasizing on screen brightness as a key feature to attract customers, and Samsung wants to leave no stone unturned. The S25 Ultra will reportedly match Pixel 9 Pro’s 3000 nits peak brightness while handsomely beating the iPhone 16 Pro’s 2000 nits offering.</p>

<p>In addition to a bigger screen, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly feature a more powerful<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/27/galaxy-s25-ultra-to-exclusively-offer-2nd-gen-gorilla-armor-glass-stronger-with-anti-reflective-coating/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> second-generation Corning Gorilla Armor Glass</a> with anti-reflective properties. The rest of the display specs will largely remain the same: an LTPO panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1440p resolution.</p>

<h3>3. No Exynos Chip This Time</h3>

<p>Yes, you read that right. All S25 models, including the vanilla and Plus, are tipped to get the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/15/tipster-reiterates-entire-galaxy-s25-series-will-adopt-snapdragon-8-elite-and-heres-why/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for all markets</a>, including India. While Samsung has not confirmed it, South Korean media reports believe the company has production issues with the Exynos 2500 chip, leaving Samsung no choice but to go for Snapdragon.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-1024x512.jpg?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="512" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-1024x512.jpg?x44794" alt="Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1" class="wp-image-656122" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-1068x534.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Qualcomm-Snapdragon-8-Elite-launched-specs-1.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></a></div>

<p>The Snapdragon 8 Elite is a powerful chip with strong CPU and GPU capabilities. It beats Apple’s fastest A18 Pro Bionic on popular benchmarking platforms, narrowing the performance gap between Android and iPhones.</p>

<p>Samsung is reportedly ditching the 8GB RAM version for the entire S25 lineup. All of them are likely to ship with<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/20/galaxy-s25-leak-small-phone-gets-faster/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> 12GB RAM as standard</a>, which would be a significant upgrade over the Galaxy S24.</p>

<h3>4. Batter Cameras</h3>

<p>Cameras are going to be better on the Galaxy S25 series as anyone would expect. According to a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/31/samsung-galaxy-s25-ultra-complete-camera-specs-revealed-a-new-ultrawide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> recent leak</a>, the S25 Ultra would use the same 200MP sensor. The 12MP (with 3x optical zoom) and 50MP (5x optical zoom) are also identical to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2.jpg?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="686" height="386" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2" class="wp-image-661661" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2.jpg 686w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Ultra-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 686px) 100vw, 686px" /></figure></div></a></div>

<p>The only notable camera upgrade on the spec sheet is the new 50MP ultrawide sensor, a jump from the 12MP on the S24 Ultra. The sensor size looks to have increased as well, which would allow more light to pass through it, resulting in better images.</p>

<p>There are not enough details about the S25 and S25+ cameras. However, if leaks are to be believed, they will not receive significant camera upgrades.</p>

<h3>5. Battery and Charging</h3>

<p>Samsung will reportedly make no changes to the battery capacity and charging speed for the S25 series, not even for the Ultra model. So, we’re likely going to see the same (4000mAh, 25W) on the S25, (4900mAh, 45W) on the S25+, and (5000mAh, 45W) on the S25 Ultra.</p>

<div><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-1024x751.jpg?x44794" class="td-modal-image"><div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="751" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-1024x751.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy-S25-Qi2" class="wp-image-663806" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-1024x751.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-300x220.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-768x563.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-696x511.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-1068x783.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-573x420.jpg 573w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Galaxy-S25-Qi2.jpg 1227w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div></a></div>

<p>There’s one big change, though. The Galaxy S25 models will reportedly support the Qi2 wireless charging standard, which is lacking in the S24 series. Tipster @chunvn888 revealed that the phones will support the EPP Qi2 (without magnet) profile with up to 25W wireless charging speeds, which is a considerable upgrade over the 15W limit on the S24 series.</p>

<p>Samsung is also said to be working on a new <strong>Battery AI</strong> feature that can extend the battery life by limiting the processor and the 5G modem.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>5. A Slim Model on the Way</h3>

<p>Samsung might unveil four Galaxy S25 models at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The fourth one is not the S25 FE but the Galaxy S24 Slim. While we’re still waiting for an official confirmation on this, industry experts believe that a Galaxy S25 Slim might be in the pipeline to compete with the yet-to-be-announced<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/27/apple-iphone-17-air-explained/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> iPhone 17 Air</a>.</p>

<p>If you look closely at the leaked Galaxy Unpacked banner, it shows four Galaxy smartphones, which further leads to believe that there might be a Slim model as well.</p>

<h3>6. Launch Date and Pricing</h3>

<p>Samsung has not announced the launch date for the Galaxy S25 series. However, a recently leaked banner suggests that the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 might happen on January 22nd. This is when new Galaxy flagships might be announced. They might go on sale starting February 7th.</p>

<p>While there are no concrete details around pricing, some reports suggest a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/20/galaxy-s25-ultra-to-cost-over-100-more-than-s24-ultra-here-are-the-reasons-behind-the-price-hike/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> price hike</a> as Qualcomm is<a href="https://www.phonearena.com/news/the-galaxy-s25-series-faces-a-big-price-hike_id166244" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> reportedly</a> charging up to $190 for each Snapdragon 8 Elite application processor (AP).</p>

Now, fresh reports have more details regarding the software support of the original three models and the release timeline of this brand new model as well.</p>

<h2>Samsung Galaxy S25 with seamless update &amp; S25 Slim launch timeline tipped</h2>

<p>The South Korean tech giant is reportedly bringing seamless software updates to the upcoming premium smartphone lineup. To recall, this feature was introduced by Samsung with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a55/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy A55</a>, but it is finally arriving on flagship models now. <a href="https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s25-series-seamless-updates-3511605/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>Android Authority</em></a> found some leaked files from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which confirmed support for seamless A/B updates. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1024x802.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy S25 Slim" class="wp-image-660901" width="614" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1024x802.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-300x235.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-768x602.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-696x545.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1068x837.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-536x420.jpg 536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 614px) 100vw, 614px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>This feature will likely ship in the base Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ as well. For those unaware, seamless updates allow users to update their devices in the background. So you can get the latest software version while still using your phone and just apply the update with a simple reboot. This helps save time during an update and lets you still have the functionality of your device without being stuck on the update installation screen.</p>

<p>A separate <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s25-slim-not-launch-other-galaxy-s25-models/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">report </a>confirmed (Via <em><a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-launch-timeline-tipped-seamless-updates/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">91Mobiles</a></em>) the launch timeline of the Galaxy S25 Slim. The new flagship model might not be introduced along with the Galaxy S25 series, but rather debut later on. Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 lineup on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/19/leaked-renders-color-options-and-launch-date-appear-to-confirm-galaxy-s25-series-details/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">22nd January 2025</a>. However, the Galaxy S25 Slim may be announced in the second quarter of next year. Since this is still just an unconfirmed rumor at the moment, take this report with a pinch of salt.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> will reportedly release its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 series, on February 7th next year. Packed with cutting-edge specifications and advanced AI capabilities, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to set new standards for flagship devices.</p>

<h2>S25 Slim will reportedly launch alongside the other three models</h2>

<p>According to industry sources, Samsung will host its &#8216;Galaxy Unpacked&#8217; event in the United States at 3 am on January 23rd, Korean time. The event will showcase the Galaxy S25 series for the first time. Following the announcement, pre-orders will commence on January 24th and run until February 3rd. Pre-order customers will gain early access on February 4th, while the official launch in Korea is scheduled for February 7th.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-660902" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-2.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>This timeline deviates slightly from the Galaxy S24 series’ release earlier this year on January 31st, suggesting Samsung’s commitment to refining its product for a compelling launch. The Galaxy S25 series will consist of four models: base, Plus, Ultra, and the newly introduced Galaxy S25 Slim, which emphasizes <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/20/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-thickness-leak/">reduced weight and thickness</a> to cater to growing consumer preferences for sleek, lightweight designs. Surprisingly, a recent rumor claims that the phone could boast <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/23/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-leak-reveals-battery-display-size-launch-timeframe/">the same battery capacity</a> as the larger and heavier Galaxy S24 Ultra.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim marks Samsung’s return to ultra-thin devices, a concept last seen with the Galaxy Alpha in 2014. Although the exact thickness remains undisclosed, it is expected to be slimmer than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/">Galaxy S24</a>’s 7.6mm.</p>

<h2>Rumored specifications:</h2>

<p>The Galaxy S25 series promises significant hardware improvements. While Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/06/exynos-2500-faces-production-setbacks-samsungs-3nm-yield-falls-below-20/#:~:text=Initially%2C%20the%20Exynos%202500%20chip,processors%20like%20MediaTek's%20Dimensity%209400.">faces production challenges</a>, the entire lineup is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, ensuring top-tier performance. The Ultra models will offer up to 16GB of RAM for 512GB and 1TB configurations, making it the first Galaxy S series device since the S21 Ultra to include such high RAM capacity. This expansion is aimed at optimizing on-device AI functions.</p>

<p>Camera upgrades are another highlight, with the ultra-wide-angle lens receiving a significant boost from 12MP to 50MP. Samsung’s next-generation operating system, One UI 7, will debut on the Galaxy S25 series, focusing on enhanced security for generative AI capabilities.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> is preparing to unveil its much-anticipated Galaxy S25 series, and the leaks just keep coming! Among the lineup, a new model—the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim/">Galaxy S25 Slim</a>—is generating buzz for its slick design and impressive specifications. While official confirmation from Samsung is still pending, rumors suggest the company will host its next Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, to debut the Galaxy S25 lineup. However, conflicting reports hint that the Slim model might see a separate launch later in the year.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="802" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1024x802.jpg?x44794" alt="Galaxy S25 Slim" class="wp-image-660901" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1024x802.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-300x235.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-768x602.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-696x545.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-1068x837.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim-536x420.jpg 536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Galaxy-S25-Slim.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2>Galaxy S25 Slim appears in new leak:</h2>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/20/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim-thickness-leak/#:~:text=As%20per%20reliable%20tipster%20Ice,expected%20to%20be%20extremely%20thin.">rumored</a> to measure under 7 mm in thickness, making it one of the thinnest smartphones Samsung has ever produced. For comparison, Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is expected to come in even slimmer <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/27/iphone-17-air-rumored-to-be-just-5-6mm-in-thick/#:~:text=iPhone%2017%20Air%20could%20rival%20the%20iPad%20Pro%2013%20in%20thickness&amp;text=Early%20reports%20suggested%20a%20slim,be%20up%20to%2035%25%20thinner.">at just 5-6 mm</a>. This focus on sleek design could signal a new trend in the smartphone market, with companies prioritizing aesthetics alongside performance.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="598" height="309" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/S25-Slim-display-size-battery-launch-timeframe-leaked.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-665664" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/S25-Slim-display-size-battery-launch-timeframe-leaked.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/S25-Slim-display-size-battery-launch-timeframe-leaked-300x155.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></figure></div>

<p>Despite its thin profile, the Galaxy S25 Slim is said to pack a 4700mAh to 5000mAh battery. This is impressive, especially considering that Samsung’s current Ultra model houses a similar 5000mAh capacity while delivering excellent battery life. The Slim model is also rumored to feature a 6.66-inch display, comparable to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-plus/">Galaxy S24+</a>. Under the hood, it will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, just like the other models in the lineup.</p>

<p>On the camera front, the leak corroborates earlier reports about the device’s triple-lens setup:</p>

<ul><li>200MP HP5 main camera</li><li>50MP JN5 ultra-wide lens</li><li>50MP JN5 3.5x telephoto lens</li></ul>

<p>These specifications suggest Samsung is doubling down on photography and video capabilities, even for its slimmer models.</p>

<p>Beyond the Slim model’s immediate appeal, the leaks suggest it could play a pivotal role in shaping Samsung’s future design philosophy. Rumors indicate that Samsung is employing innovative lens technology to fit larger, high-resolution sensors without significantly increasing the camera bump. This aligns with the Slim’s design goals, offering a sleeker appearance without compromising on functionality.</p>

<h2>The Galaxy S25 Slim could launch separately</h2>

<p>Interestingly, reports suggest the Galaxy S25 Slim might launch separately in Q2 2025 (April–June). This potential staggered release could give Samsung more time to market the device and gauge consumer interest. Moreover, its success is expected to influence the design language of the Galaxy S26 series and beyond.</p>

<p>After several years of routine updates to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a>&#8216;s flagship smartphones, the upcoming Galaxy S25 lineup promises a refreshing change. Rumors indicate that Samsung may introduce the Galaxy S25 Slim next year, with a recent report offering insights into just how thin the device might be.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="634" height="202" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Screenshot-2024-12-20-210540.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-665497" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Screenshot-2024-12-20-210540.png 634w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Screenshot-2024-12-20-210540-300x96.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px" /></figure></div>

<p>As per reliable tipster Ice Universe, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-slim/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S25 Slim</a> could be as thin as 6.X mm, significantly slimmer than the standard S24&#8217;s 7.6 mm. This puts it in competition with Apple&#8217;s rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/12/15/iphone-17-air-enters-new-production-introduction-phase/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone 17 Air</a>, which is also expected to be extremely thin. While details are unclear on how Samsung plans to achieve this slimmer design without affecting hardware, battery life, or cooling, the use of silicon-carbon anode battery technology could be a possibility.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-1024x536.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S25 camera sensor leak" class="wp-image-587636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak-803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-camera-sensor-leak.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>For those unaware, Silicon-carbon anode technology improves smartphone batteries by increasing energy density, enabling longer battery life or slimmer designs. It also offers improved heat management. In addition to that, the device could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which has been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/22/snapdragon-8-elite-battery-gaming-performance-upgrade/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">proven to be quite efficient</a> and runs relatively cooler compared to its predecessors.</p>

<p>Previous <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/07/samsung-prepares-galaxy-s25-slim-with-200mp-camera-and-ultra-thin-design/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reports have claimed</a> that the Galaxy S25 Slim will come with a 200MP main camera using Samsung’s new Isocell HP5 sensor, which is smaller than the HP2 sensor in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24 Ultra</a>. Complementing the primary camera, the device is expected to feature two 1/2.76″ 50MP Isocell JN5 sensors for ultrawide and 3.5x telephoto capabilities, promising sharper zoom performance.</p>

<p>Samsung&#8217;s Advanced Lens on Plastic (ALoP) technology will be utilized to reduce camera assembly thickness without sacrificing optical quality. With Samsung reportedly preparing to launch the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025, we can expect more details to arrive on the Galaxy S25 Slim, and other S25 series devices in the coming days, so stay tuned.</p>

<p>A previous report by the prominent leaker Ice Universe suggested that this new model would feature an &#8220;Ultra&#8221; camera, which was expected to include a 200MP main camera. However, the tipster didn&#8217;t share any further details about the camera system. A new leak from X user @Saaaanjjjuuu has now detailed all three sensors that the rumored Galaxy S25 Slim could feature.</p>

<h2>Camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 Slim</h2>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim is rumored to feature a 200MP primary camera, powered by Samsung’s yet-to-be-announced Isocell HP5 sensor. This sensor measures 1/1.56&#8243;, making it smaller than the 1/1.3&#8243; Isocell HP2 sensor used in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-ultra/">Galaxy S24 Ultra</a>. This compact size aligns with Samsung&#8217;s push for a slimmer design, as it reduces the camera module&#8217;s protrusion and potentially contributes to a thinner overall device profile.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="549" height="474" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-leak.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-660903" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-leak.png 549w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-leak-300x259.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-leak-486x420.png 486w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-leak-534x462.png 534w" sizes="(max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px" /></figure></div>

<p>Complementing the main sensor, the Slim model is expected to include two 1/2.76&#8243; Isocell JN5 sensors, used for ultrawide and 3.5x telephoto purposes. The telephoto lens stands out with its higher resolution (50MP vs 10MP of the current 3x telephoto), and slightly longer zoom. With a 50MP resolution, this telephoto setup also promises sharper digital zoom capabilities, similar to what we have seen with the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 50MP 5x telephoto lens and the Oppo Find X8 Pro’s 6x telephoto lens.</p>

<h2>S25 Slim could debut Samsung&#8217;s ALoP lens technology</h2>

<p>Samsung’s new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/18/samsung-tackles-the-camera-bump-problem-with-revolutionary-alop-technology/">ALoP (Advanced Lens on Plastic) technology</a> reportedly plays a crucial role in the Slim model’s design. This innovation minimizes the thickness of the camera assembly without compromising on optical performance. Additionally, AI-powered enhancements are expected to improve clarity and detail, particularly in zoomed shots, building upon the capabilities introduced with the Galaxy S24 series.</p>

<p>The combination of a 200MP primary sensor, the 50MP 3.5x telephoto lens, and cutting-edge AI is likely to offer a substantial improvement over the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/">Galaxy S24</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24-plus/">S24 Plus</a>.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/">Galaxy S25</a> series is rumored to debut in January 2025, with the Slim model possibly arriving later in the year.</p>

<p>Following the release of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-special/">Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition</a> in its home country, Samsung is now reportedly working on the Galaxy S25 Slim, a new flagship device that combines cutting-edge hardware with a focus on a sleeker, slimmer profile.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="501" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-1024x501.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition" class="wp-image-655939" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-1024x501.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-300x147.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-768x375.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-696x340.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-1068x522.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-859x420.png 859w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-324x160.png 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3-533x261.png 533w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-6-Special-Edition-3.png 1256w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition </figcaption></figure>

<p>This addition marks <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s return to the “thin and light” approach it experimented with nearly a decade ago, with devices like the Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy Alpha was just 6.7 mm thick, a stark contrast to the Galaxy S5’s 8.1 mm body. By bringing back a thin model within its flagship lineup, Samsung aims to cater to a segment of users who prioritize a lighter, more compact device without sacrificing flagship-level features.</p>

<h2>Galaxy S25 Slim: what to expect?</h2>

<p>The Galaxy S25 Slim may come equipped with a powerful camera system. The well-known tipster Ice Universe recently suggested on Weibo that the <strong>Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a 200-megapixel main camera</strong>. This camera is reportedly similar to the Ultra-level sensor Samsung already uses in its Ultra flagships, making the upcoming &#8216;Slim&#8217; model a significant upgrade over standard configurations typically offered with thin smartphone models.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="159" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-1024x159.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-658943" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-1024x159.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-300x47.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-768x119.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-696x108.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera-1068x166.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/S25-Slim-camera.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Significant in context, Samsung is already using a 200MP sensor in the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, recently launched in South Korea.</p>

<p>With model number SM-S937, the Galaxy S25 Slim has already been spotted in various regulatory filings, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/07/galaxy-s25-slim-makes-appearance-on-the-certification-authority/">IMEI database</a>. This appearance in regulatory databases is often an indication that a device is in the final stages of testing and approval before hitting the markets.</p>

<p>In terms of size and build, the S25 Slim is expected to fit seamlessly within the S25 lineup, joining the Galaxy S25 (SM-S931), Galaxy S25+ (SM-S936), and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-ultra/">Galaxy S25 Ultra</a> (SM-S938). As of now, the precise dimensions and thickness of the Galaxy S25 Slim remain speculative, though it’s expected to significantly differ from the standard S25 models.</p>

<h2>Apple is reportedly taking a similar approach</h2>

<p>Samsung is not the only major brand exploring ultra-thin designs in their flagship lineup. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/apple/">Apple</a>, one of Samsung’s main competitors, is reportedly developing a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/13/iphone-17-air-roundup-heres-everything-known-about-the-radical-slim-iphone/">“Slim” or “Air” version</a> of the upcoming iPhone 17 series. This device is expected to replace the current iPhone Plus model, offering Apple’s user base a lightweight alternative in the 2025 flagship lineup.</p>

<p>Following rumors of a potential <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/10/13/iphone-17-air-roundup-heres-everything-known-about-the-radical-slim-iphone/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&#8220;Slim&#8221; iPhone 17</a> in 2025, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a> appears to be exploring similar territory with a rumored &#8220;Galaxy S25 Slim&#8221; model.</p>

<p>A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/01/samsung-working-on-a-slim-model-for-galaxy-s25-series/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">report surfaced from South Korea</a> earlier this week, hinting that Samsung&#8217;s slimmer smartphone could arrive in the second quarter of 2025 (April-June), following the launch of the standard Galaxy S25 lineup.</p>

<p>Now, a listing discovered by <em>Smartprix</em> in the GSMA IMEI database adds weight to these rumors. The listing shows a smartphone with the market name &#8220;Galaxy&#8221; and model number SM-S937U. </p>

<h2><strong>A slim phone from Samsung seems plausible</strong></h2>

<p>Although the listing doesn’t explicitly name the device as the Galaxy S25 Slim, the report suggests it belongs to that line. The report also notes that Samsung typically adds devices under internal testing to the database six to seven months before launch. The &#8220;U&#8221; suffix on the model number further indicates a planned US rollout.</p>

<p>Additionally, the model number format matches the naming conventions used for the standard, Plus, and Ultra variants of the Galaxy S series.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="667" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-1024x667.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-612184" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-1024x667.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-300x196.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-768x500.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-696x454.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra-644x420.jpg 644w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/galaxy-ultra-s24-ultra.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Details regarding the Galaxy S25 Slim are still limited, but the Slim label suggests it will be notably thinner than current Galaxy flagships, which might require trade-offs in other areas.</p>

<p>Apple&#8217;s rumored &#8220;Slim&#8221; iPhone 17, according to reports, could debut later in the third quarter and carry a price tag exceeding even the current iPhone Pro Max. This thinner iPhone is also expected to offer a 6.6-inch display with a single rear camera.</p>

<p>Samsung&#8217;s approach with the Galaxy S25 Slim remains to be seen. To achieve a slimmer profile, the company may need to make adjustments to components such as the processor, display, battery, and camera.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the rise of AI features in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s24/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S24</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-16/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iPhone 16</a> might not have been enough for some users to upgrade, 2025 could see the battle for market share shift towards the allure of a truly slim smartphone.</p>
