<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series could be among the first smartphones to ship with Bluetooth 6.1, thanks to a newly certified Exynos chip. A fresh Bluetooth SIG listing suggests the company’s next flagship will deliver faster, smarter, and more secure wireless connections — potentially improving how Galaxy devices connect to earbuds, wearables, and smart home gear.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="507" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-709111" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3-768x433.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Ultra-CAD-Render-3-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<p>The new Exynos S6568 chip — not to be confused with the Exynos 2600 — is described as a connectivity module that handles Bluetooth and Wi-Fi alongside an Exynos application processor. According to the listing, the “S6568 is to be used together with a compatible Exynos Application Processor to build a full BT + Wi-Fi solution supporting Bluetooth 6.1.”</p>

<p>That wording makes it unclear whether, or how, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/23/galaxy-s26-ultra-may-go-snapdragon-only-as-exynos-2600-faces-yield-issues/">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 variants</a> of the S26 series will benefit from this development. For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 supports Bluetooth 6.0, not 6.1.</p>

<p>The listing’s timing fits neatly into Samsung’s schedule. The Galaxy S26 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/18/samsung-galaxy-s26-series-launch-delay/">reportedly delayed to March</a> 2026, is expected to feature the Exynos 2600 in most regions, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will power units in the US and China.</p>

<p>Bluetooth 6.1, officially introduced in May 2025, improves on version 6.0 with several practical upgrades. Privacy gets a boost through Randomized Resolvable Private Address (RPA) updates — which automatically change a device’s Bluetooth identity to prevent unwanted tracking in public spaces. Power efficiency is also improved, as address management now runs on the controller instead of the main CPU.</p>

<p>While Bluetooth 6.0 introduced ultra-precise Channel Sounding for centimeter-level location accuracy, version 6.1 focuses on tightening privacy, stability, and energy use. If Samsung integrates it into the S26, the series could become the first major smartphone line to ship with the new standard.</p>

<p>There are already plenty rumors going around regarding the various upgrades in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a>&#8216;s upcoming Galaxy S26 series of flagship smartphones. But all of this might come at a cost (literally). A recent leak has revealed that many of the changes could come with a heftier price tag.</p>

<h2>Brace for a Price Jump on the Samsung Galaxy S26</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/22/mediateks-dimensity-9500-goes-official/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MediaTek just unveiled its flagship Dimensity 9500</a> SoC, which is based on TSMC&#8217;s third-generation 3nm process node (N3P). Similarly, even Qualcomm is using the same line from TSMC for its next gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. A large chunk of these new chips will be dedicated to Samsung&#8217;s Galaxy S26 series, bringing a more power efficient chip despite offering performance gains. However, this will be one of the major reasons for the Galaxy S26 series&#8217; price hike.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="924" height="569" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705467" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2.jpg 924w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2-300x185.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2-768x473.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2-696x429.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2-682x420.jpg 682w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/galaxy-s26-edge-render-leak-2-356x220.jpg 356w" sizes="(max-width: 924px) 100vw, 924px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to a China Times report, Qualcomm and MediaTek are paying around 24 percent and 16 percent higher rates (respectively) to TSMC for the new chips. So the brands receiving the latest processors will likely have the customers bear the cost of these pricier components. Apart from this, the various new upgrades will also cause the Galaxy S26 models to become more expensive. </p>

<p>In our recent report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could finally use Samsung&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/22/galaxy-s26-ultra-may-finally-use-samsungs-m14-oled-panel-alongside-coe-display-tech/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">M14 OLED panel alongside the CoE display tech</a>. These devices might also be getting new cameras for an improved photography experience. That&#8217;s not all, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Pro models might feature the new Exynos 2600 SoC, which is expected to be based on Samsung Foundry&#8217;s cutting edge 2nm process.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s Galaxy S26 series is set to launch next January, but early leaks are already giving us a clearer idea of what the lineup could look like. This time it’s not CAD renders or early prototypes with experimental designs—it’s accessories. Protective cases and glass films have surfaced, and they strongly suggest Samsung isn’t sticking to the S25’s design language.</p>

<p>The S26 family is expected to arrive in three versions: the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/12/galaxy-s26-pros-pro-status-questioned-in-new-leak/">S26 Pro</a>, the S26 Ultra, and the S26 Edge (possibly marketed as the S26 Air). Renders shared earlier in the year suggested that the Pro and Ultra would carry forward Samsung’s familiar clean design with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/11/galaxy-s26-pro-renders-reveal-design-element-borrowed-from-samsungs-foldables/">separate camera lenses</a> housed <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/06/galaxy-s26-ultra-with-more-rounded-corners-shifting-away-from-the-ultra/">within a pill-shaped island</a>, while the Edge would take a more experimental route. The new accessories back that up.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706777" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0xaxOIXIAElv2W.jpg 1876w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Images of camera protective films posted by leaker Ice Universe show the S26 Edge with a &#8220;camera bar&#8221; stretching right across the back—something Samsung hasn’t done before in the Galaxy S line. In contrast, the Pro and Ultra stick with more conventional modules. Case leaks add another wrinkle: the Edge model is shown with built-in magnetic rings, which makes alignment of wireless charging coils inside the phone and accessories much easier.</p>

<p>It suggests Samsung is finally adding support for magnetic accessories, a move that would mirror Google’s recent Pixel 10 approach. That said, it will be interesting to see whether the Ultra, with its built-in S Pen, will also support the feature.</p>

<p>Hopes for other upgrades, such as faster charging and an improved 3x telephoto, were recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/12/no-60w-charging-for-galaxy-s26-ultra-certification-confirms/">dashed</a> by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/12/no-60w-charging-for-galaxy-s26-ultra-certification-confirms/">certification listings</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/11/galaxy-s26-ultras-3x-telephoto-camera-may-face-a-downgrade-leak-claims/">leaks</a>. Even so, the appearance of these accessories suggests Samsung has finalized the basics of the design, even if branding details remain under wraps.</p>

<p>If accurate, Samsung is preparing a more diverse Galaxy S26 lineup than usual. A bold Edge variant could appeal to those who want something different, while the Pro and Ultra keep the formula familiar.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s Galaxy S26 family is shaping up to be one of its most ambitious launches in years, and the company’s next in-house processor looks to be at the center of it. According to a report from FN News, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/03/samsung-exynos-2600-2nm-mass-production/">Exynos 2600</a> has wrapped up development and is scheduled to enter mass production by the end of September 2025.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706441" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/s26-pro-render-3.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Galaxy S26 Pro CAD render</figcaption></figure>

<p>The Galaxy S26 lineup—likely consisting of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/15/galaxy-s26-series-accessories-leak-points-to-varied-camera-layouts/">S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra</a>—is tipped to use a split-chip strategy. The Pro and Edge are expected to run on Samsung’s new 2nm silicon, while the Ultra will stick with TSMC’s 3nm-based <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/11/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-surfaces-with-record-breaking-antutu-scores/">Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>. Region-based variations may still apply, but the Exynos 2600 seems ready for prime time across more markets than before.</p>

<p>Built on Samsung Foundry’s 2nm process, the chip is said to deliver big efficiency and thermal improvements over the Exynos 2500. A key feature is Heat Pass Block (HPB) technology, designed to keep temperatures in check during sustained performance. Early benchmark listings suggest it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/12/snapdragon-8-elite-2-geekbench-galaxy-s26-edge-news/">goes head-to-head</a> with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/15/a19-pro-benchmarks-suggest-apple-still-has-edge-over-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5/">Apple’s A19 Pro</a> in both single-core and multi-core scores—an area where Exynos has often struggled.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="960" height="720" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600.jpg?x44794" alt="Exynos 2600" class="wp-image-697005" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600.jpg 960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/samsung-exynos-2600-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px" /><figcaption>Exynos 2600 </figcaption></figure>

<p>For Samsung, pulling off 2nm production is about more than just phones. Success here could help the company rebuild confidence in its foundry business, which has faced setbacks in recent years.</p>

<p>If these early claims hold true, the Exynos 2600 could finally give Samsung’s own chips a stronger reputation and make the Galaxy S26 series a more competitive alternative worldwide. With the launch window pointing to early 2026, all eyes will be on whether the new Exynos can live up to the hype.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="609" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-1024x609.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-1024x609.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-300x178.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-768x457.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-1536x914.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-696x414.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-1068x635.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-1920x1142.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1-706x420.jpg 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pT8akAAAWf1.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 16 (left), Galaxy S26 (right)</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to reports from Korean outlets, Samsung will ditch the familiar S+ branding and release three models next January: the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra. But well-known tipster Ice Universe isn’t buying into the Pro hype. </p>

<p>In a post on X, he argued that the S26 Pro doesn’t offer enough to justify the “Pro” title, pointing out that only two changes stand out—a new primary camera (with the same sensor size) and a switch to what he called a “useless” 50MP ultra-wide sensor, replacing the older 12MP, 1/2.55-inch unit from the S25. The criticism likely refers to the tiny sensor area, which is only marginally larger than before. For context, packing more pixels onto a small sensor often leads to higher noise and bigger file sizes, with little to no improvement in real-world image quality.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="346" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-11-175957.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706387" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-11-175957.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-11-175957-300x135.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-11-175957-696x314.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure></div>

<p>Other elements, such as the 10MP telephoto lens and Full HD+ display, are said to remain unchanged, fueling criticism that the device is more of a refresh than a true step forward. Still, leaks suggest the S26 Pro won’t be entirely without merit. Under the hood, it’s expected to carry Qualcomm’s upcoming &#8220;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/11/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-surfaces-with-record-breaking-antutu-scores/">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>&#8221; or Samsung’s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/03/samsung-exynos-2600-2nm-mass-production/">Exynos 2600</a> (depending on the region), along with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/31/both-galaxy-s26-pro-and-s26-edge-to-boast-bigger-batteries-unlike-s26-ultra/">slightly larger battery</a>.</p>

<p>While Ice Universe downplays these tweaks, the phone could still pack enough flagship-grade hardware to appeal to Galaxy fans looking for an upgrade. The lack of a periscope telephoto lens remains a clear dividing line between the “Pro” and Ultra model, keeping the latter as Samsung’s photography showcase. Unfortunately, Ice Universe also recently revealed that the 3x periscope telephoto on the Ultra will face <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/11/galaxy-s26-ultras-3x-telephoto-camera-may-face-a-downgrade-leak-claims/">a downgrade instead of an upgrade</a>, after remaining unchanged for a few years.</p>

<p>With launch day only a few months away, the debate around the Galaxy S26 Pro highlights the tricky balance Samsung faces: making its mid-tier flagship distinct without watering down the “Pro” name.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s Galaxy S26 series is still months away, but the first leaks are already sparking debate among fans. While most expect charging speeds to improve, a new report claims the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge will stick with the same limitations as their predecessors.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="690" height="452" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/006bWoNYly1i535qfypecj32bc334e811.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706421" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/006bWoNYly1i535qfypecj32bc334e811.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/006bWoNYly1i535qfypecj32bc334e811-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/006bWoNYly1i535qfypecj32bc334e811-641x420.jpg 641w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></figure></div>

<p>The information comes from Ice Universe, a tipster with a solid track record, who posted on X that both the S26 Pro and Edge will once again be limited to 25 W wired charging. That figure hasn’t changed in years, despite a steady increase in battery capacities across its lineup.</p>

<p>According to previous leaks, the Galaxy S26 Pro will feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/31/both-galaxy-s26-pro-and-s26-edge-to-boast-bigger-batteries-unlike-s26-ultra/">4,300 mAh</a> battery, up from 4,000 mAh on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/">S25</a>. The S26 Edge is tipped to include a 4,200 mAh cell, up from 3,900 mAh on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge/">S25 Edge</a>. These larger capacities may extend runtime, but they also mean longer downtime, since charging speeds remain unchanged.</p>

<p>With much of the Galaxy S26 Pro’s design reportedly unchanged from last year, an upgraded heat dissipation system also seems unlikely. This suggests the phone won’t be able to draw more power from the 25W adapter than the S25, as doing so would raise battery temperatures to unsafe levels.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="463" height="609" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-003422.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706422" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-003422.png 463w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-003422-228x300.png 228w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-003422-319x420.png 319w" sizes="(max-width: 463px) 100vw, 463px" /></figure></div>

<p>Apple’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/09/apple-iphone-17-launched-specs-price/">iPhone 17</a> series reportedly supports 40 W wired charging, and even the lighter iPhone Air model is said to offer 27 W. Chinese competitors, meanwhile, often push speeds well <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/02/oneplus-15-tuv-certified/">beyond 100 W</a>. In this context, Samsung’s decision to hold back on faster charging feels conservative.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/09/heres-how-fast-s26-ultra-charges-with-its-upgraded-60w-brick/">may break away from this pattern</a>. The flagship model is rumored to jump from 45 W to 60 W charging, creating a sharper gap between the Ultra and the other models.</p>

<p>If the leak proves accurate, Samsung seems to be prioritizing battery size and longevity over raw charging speed. That might appeal to some users, but others will see it as a missed opportunity—especially when rivals continue to push the limits. The real test will come in January 2026, when the S26 series is expected to make its debut.</p>

<p>The most noticeable design change is a new pill-shaped camera island that houses three separate lenses while still keeping the familiar Samsung look. If it looks familiar, that’s because recent <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/10/how-samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7-improved-over-its-predecessors/">Galaxy Z Fold models</a> also adopted this type of camera island. In fact, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/06/galaxy-s26-ultra-with-more-rounded-corners-shifting-away-from-the-ultra/">leaked renders</a> of the Ultra model show the same redesign.</p>

<p>From the front and sides, however, the S26 Pro appears almost indistinguishable from its predecessor, as you can see in the image below.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="547" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-1024x547.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-706438" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-1024x547.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-768x410.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-696x372.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-1068x571.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926-786x420.png 786w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Screenshot-2025-09-12-035926.png 1263w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Galaxy S25 (left) vs Galaxy S26 Pro (right)</figcaption></figure>

<p>It is said to feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, up from 6.2 inches on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/">S25</a>. The dimensions reportedly come in at 149.3 x 71.4 x 6.96 mm (down from 7.2 mm on the S25), making the phone a bit taller, wider, and slimmer, with a 10.23 mm camera bump.</p>

<p>Other details suggest the S26 Pro will be powered by either the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/29/oneplus-15-snapdragon-8-elite-2-benchmark/">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a> (also referred to as 8 Elite Gen 5) or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/03/samsung-exynos-2600-2nm-mass-production/">Exynos 2600</a>, depending on the region. The battery is also set to grow slightly to 4,300 mAh, while the ultrawide camera moves to a new 50 MP sensor. Wireless charging with built-in magnets, similar to what Google’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/30/what-is-pixelsnap-googles-magnetic-tech/">Pixel 10 series</a> offers, is also expected.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S26 Pro may not be a radical departure from its predecessor, but the larger display, higher RAM ceiling, and improved camera setup point to a more polished flagship. With Samsung aiming to balance performance and design tweaks, the S26 Pro could be a strong contender as it faces off against Apple’s iPhone 17 and Xiaomi’s 2026 flagships.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> is heading toward the launch of its Galaxy S26 series, but not everyone is impressed with what’s been shown so far. Well-known leaker Ice Universe has been critical of Samsung’s designs in the past, and now he’s calling out the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/17/galaxy-s26-pro-leak-points-to-bigger-screen-and-slight-battery-bump/">Galaxy S26 Pro</a>’s bezels—drawing comparisons with Xiaomi’s upcoming 16 Pro.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-1024x640.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705850" width="857" height="535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-300x188.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-768x480.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-1536x960.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-696x435.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-1068x668.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_-672x420.jpg 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pQ9bsAEWcM_.jpg 1878w" sizes="(max-width: 857px) 100vw, 857px" /><figcaption>Xiaomi 16 Pro (left) vs Galaxy S26 Pro (right) </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Pro doesn’t show much progress in trimming its bezels, while Xiaomi’s 16 Pro is taking a clear lead thanks to its use of &#8220;the most advanced technology in the industry&#8221;. The renders he posted show the Xiaomi 16 Pro with slimmer bezels and significantly more rounded corners, while the Galaxy S26 Pro appears almost identical to its predecessor. The leaker even suggested Samsung might be intentionally aligning with Apple’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/04/24/iphone-17-lineups-realistic-looking-dummies-spotted-in-black-and-white/">iPhone 17 Pro look</a> rather than chasing maximum screen-to-body ratio. This leak even reaffirms the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/06/galaxy-s26-ultra-with-more-rounded-corners-shifting-away-from-the-ultra/">previous rumor</a> that Samsung is ditching the Note series’ signature boxy design, starting with the S26 Ultra.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="725" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-1024x725.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705851" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-1024x725.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-300x212.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-768x544.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-1536x1088.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-696x493.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-1068x756.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-1920x1359.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-593x420.jpg 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/G0T_pYsbEAAbQOC.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>He goes further, saying the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/xiaomi-16-pro.html">Xiaomi 16 Pro</a> could end up being the best-selling non-Ultra Android flagship, potentially putting real pressure on Samsung. That’s partly because Xiaomi seems to be going bigger on hardware as well: the 16 Pro is tipped to feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/06/xiaomi-16-series-battery-sizes-tipped-again-up-to-7500mah-on-a-flagship/">6,300 mAh battery</a>, compared to the Galaxy S26’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/31/both-galaxy-s26-pro-and-s26-edge-to-boast-bigger-batteries-unlike-s26-ultra/">modest 4,300 mAh pack</a>. </p>

<p>Meanwhile, Samsung has been criticized for sticking with older camera hardware across multiple generations, while the Xiaomi 16 Pro is rumored to bring notable upgrades — including a larger main sensor — you can check out its leaked <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/08/xiaomi-16-pro-primary-camera-details-leaked">camera specifications</a> here.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S26 series is expected in January 2026, while the Xiaomi 16 lineup is rumored to arrive in September 2025.</p>

<p>The first look at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Samsung</a>’s upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/30/galaxy-s26-pro-edge-and-ultra-thickness-revealed-all-slimmer-than-their-predecessors/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S26 series </a>may have just leaked, and it&#8217;s becoming a conversation starter. Reliable tipster <em>Sonny Dickson</em> shared an image of the dummy units that reportedly show the upcoming models.</p>

<p>The largest of the three is easy to identify as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s26-ultra/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Galaxy S26 Ultra</a>. The other two are less clear, but the one on the left appears to be the standard Galaxy S26 (or the Galaxy S26 Pro, as rumors say), while the middle model could be the Galaxy S26 Edge.</p>

<h2><strong>S26 Edge could have a design similar to iPhone 17 Air</strong></h2>

<p>As you can tell, design-wise, the most noticeable change is on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/30/galaxy-s26-edges-3c-certification-reveals-something-disappointing/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">S26 Edge</a>. Instead of Samsung’s usual separate camera lenses, the device has a horizontal camera bar that spans across the back of the phone. Interestingly, that’s a look Apple is rumored to be adopting for the iPhone 17 Air and Pro.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="832" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705252" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy.jpg 832w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy-300x216.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy-768x554.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy-696x502.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy-582x420.jpg 582w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-series-dummy-324x235.jpg 324w" sizes="(max-width: 832px) 100vw, 832px" /></figure></div>

<p>The lenses themselves are still arranged in a vertical stack, alongside an LED flash in the same spot as before. According to leaker <em><a href="https://x.com/UniverseIce/status/1963582847249211631" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ice Universe</a></em>, the camera bar could house internal components, which in turn will make room for a larger 4,200mAh battery (up from 3,900mAh) and allow Samsung to slim the thickness down from 5.8mm to 5.5mm.</p>

<p>All three dummy units also show slightly squared-off edges on the corners and a circular indentation on the back. That indentation could be a hint for upcoming Qi2 wireless charging support with magnetic alignment. Google already brought the feature to the Pixel 10 lineup, so it looks like Samsung may be preparing to follow suit.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S26 lineup isn’t expected to arrive until early next year, which means Samsung still has time to tweak the design. So for now, it’s best to treat these details with a dose of caution.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s next flagship lineup could be the thinnest Galaxy phones yet, if new leaks are anything to go by. The Galaxy S26 series — expected to arrive in early 2026 — is said to be pushing slimmer designs across all models without cutting down on battery life or durability.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1024x682.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung-Galaxy-S25" class="wp-image-696410" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to a report, the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra are all getting noticeable reductions in thickness compared to this year’s S25 models. The S26 Pro, which replaces the base model, reportedly comes in at just 6.7mm thick (down from 7.2mm). The S26 Edge could slim down even further to 5.5mm, compared to the S25 Edge’s 5.8mm. Despite that, it’s said to pack a larger 4,200mAh battery — a bump from 3,900mAh.</p>

<p>The S26 Ultra, meanwhile, is tipped to measure 7.8mm, compared to 8.2mm on the S25 Ultra. That reduction is more modest, as the Ultra still <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/28/galaxy-s26-ultras-magsafe-like-charging-could-mean-more-compromises-on-existing-features-than-convenience/">houses the S Pen</a>, which limits how thin the design can get unless Samsung rethinks the stylus entirely.</p>

<p>These figures are based on internal prototypes, so the final numbers could shift slightly before launch. Still, Samsung seems to be positioning the lineup against rivals like Apple’s rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/05/could-iphone-17-air-kick-off-new-trend/">iPhone 17 Air</a>, which may come in at just 5.5mm.</p>

<p>Alongside slimmer builds, Samsung is keeping headline specs like a 200MP camera and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/09/heres-how-fast-s26-ultra-charges-with-its-upgraded-60w-brick/">upgraded charging</a> on the Ultra. The Galaxy S26 family is slated for a January 2026 launch, with prices expected to mirror this year’s lineup — $799 for the Pro, $1,099 for the Edge, and $1,299 for the Ultra. Still, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/25/galaxy-s25-ultra-costs-more-to-make-than-s24-ultra-and-s23-ultra-even-with-lower-camera-and-display-costs/">a bump wouldn’t be out of the question</a>, given Samsung’s history, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/30/galaxy-s26-pro-seemingly-confirmed-by-gsma-database/">new ‘Pro’ branding</a>, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/28/galaxy-s26-ultra-could-finally-offer-a-revamped-zoom-setup-hints-new-camera-island-leak/">rumored redesign</a>.</p>

<p>According to South Korean media cited by SamMobile, Samsung plans to equip at least two models in the S26 family — likely the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/17/galaxy-s26-pro-leak-points-to-bigger-screen-and-slight-battery-bump/">Galaxy S26 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/14/samsung-replace-galaxy-s26-plus-s26-edge-news/">S26 Edge</a> (or S26 Air) — with the new 2nm Exynos 2600. The top-tier S26 Ultra, however, is still expected to use Qualcomm’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/30/snapdragon-8-elite-2-specs-benchmarks-and-release-date/">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a>.</p>

<p>The move comes as Samsung faces higher component expenses. In the first half of 2025, chipset procurement costs for its DX division reportedly rose 29.2%, largely due to pricier Snapdragon 8 Elite chips used in the Galaxy S25 series and the popular Galaxy Z Fold 7. Qualcomm’s rising prices, combined with TSMC’s higher production costs for 3nm chips, have put extra pressure on Samsung’s margins. By relying more on its own 2nm Exynos, built at Samsung’s foundry, the company could cut costs significantly while still offering competitive performance thanks to a 10-core CPU design and improved power efficiency.</p>

<p>This wouldn’t be Samsung’s first step back toward Exynos. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 shipped earlier this year with the Exynos 2500, marking the first foldable to move away from Snapdragon. That said, Samsung still faces challenges with chip yields — currently around 40%, compared to TSMC’s 60% — along with concerns around efficiency and thermals.</p>

<p>If those hurdles are addressed, the Exynos 2600 could power most of the S26 range. Mass production of the Exynos 2600 is reportedly scheduled for November 2025. For Samsung, adopting its own chip in the S26 is about more than cost savings — it’s also a way to strengthen its semiconductor business and reduce reliance on external suppliers. Whether the Exynos 2600 can match Snapdragon in real-world performance will be key to how this strategy plays out when the Galaxy S26 launches in early 2026.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s next flagship lineup is still months away, but leaks are already hinting at what to expect from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/29/galaxy-s26-pro-edge-kill-samsung-base-models/">Galaxy S26 Pro</a>. The phone is tipped to launch in early 2026 alongside the S26 Ultra and S26 Edge, and fresh details highlight changes to the display and battery.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="682" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1024x682.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung-Galaxy-S25" class="wp-image-696410" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S25.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the Galaxy S26 Pro (SM-S9420) will feature a 6.27-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, up slightly from the 6.2-inch panel on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25/">Galaxy S25</a>. The difference may come down to slimmer bezels rather than a wider frame, but users can still expect the usual Samsung upgrades in brightness and color accuracy. The panel could also share similarities with the next-gen screen that’s rumored for the S26 Ultra.</p>

<p>Battery life is also set for a minor boost. The S26 Pro is listed with a 4,175mAh cell, which will likely be marketed as 4,300mAh — 300mAh more than last year’s model. While the upgrade is welcome, it still trails rivals like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-13t/">OnePlus 13T</a> (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/04/29/oneplus-13t-full-review-small-size-big-battery-so-what-else/">our review</a>), which packs a 6,260mAh silicon-carbon battery. Charging details for the Pro aren’t clear yet, but the Ultra’s rumored jump from 45W to 60W suggests the standard model could also move up from its 25W rating — especially given that Samsung’s Galaxy A56 already supports 45W, outpacing the flagship S25.</p>

<p>Other leaked specs include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 or Samsung’s in-house 2nm Exynos 2600 chip and 12GB base RAM. Qi2 wireless charging and an extra NFC antenna are also said to be on board.</p>

<p>With its compact footprint and incremental upgrades, the Galaxy S26 Pro looks like it will follow the same formula as its predecessor — albeit with a &#8220;Pro&#8221; moniker — aiming to be the “small flagship” of the series rather than the spec monster. More details should surface as Samsung gears up for its January launch window.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a>’s upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup is starting to take shape, and early leaks hint at some noteworthy improvements in battery life. As anticipation builds ahead of the expected January 2026 launch, new details about the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/31/galaxy-s26-pro-seemingly-confirmed-by-gsma-database/">Galaxy S26 Pro</a> and S26 Edge suggest Samsung is addressing user concerns around battery performance.</p>

<h2>Bigger batteries for the Pro and Edge</h2>

<p>A report from <em>GalaxyClub</em> claims the Galaxy S26 Pro will pack a 4,300mAh battery — a decent bump from the 4,000mAh unit in last year’s S25. The S26 Edge, which is expected to replace both the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge/">S25 Edge</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s25-plus/">S25 Plus</a>, is said to include a 4,200mAh battery. That’s up from 3,900mAh in the S25 Edge, but still notably smaller than the 4,900mAh battery found in the S25 Plus.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S26 Ultra, meanwhile, is sticking with its tried-and-tested 5,000mAh battery, which is rumored to support 60W fast charging — an upgrade over the 45W on its predecessor. While the capacity gains are modest, they seem targeted — particularly in response to battery life complaints about the S25 Edge. That said, the S26 Edge’s smaller battery compared to the outgoing Plus model is already raising eyebrows.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-699669" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/67d518986e650c59e65b4eb1-1-1024x576-1-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>What makes things even more concerning is Samsung’s chipset choice for the S26 lineup. The S26 Ultra is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/29/galaxy-s26-ultras-firmware-seemingly-confirms-its-chipset/">almost confirmed</a> to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, while Samsung has hinted that the Exynos 2600 will also be part of the lineup. If past trends are any indication, the Edge and Pro models could very well end up with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/25/exynos-2600s-early-geekbench-scores-hint-at-galaxy-s26s-potential/">Exynos 2600</a> — making power efficiency and battery life even more uncertain.</p>

<p>Whether the 2nm process node of the Exynos 2600 (paired with improved resource management) can avoid canceling out the 300mAh battery gain — or if the phone ends up offering better battery life at all — remains to be seen.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung/">Samsung</a> may be planning a major change to its Galaxy S lineup next year, with the biggest surprise possibly being the name of its entry-level flagship. According to a new GSMA listing spotted by <em><a href="https://sammypolice.com/samsung-redesigns-flagship-strategy-galaxy-s26-pro-confirmed-plus-model-dropped-947/">SammyPolice</a></em>, the model previously expected to launch as the Galaxy S26 (SM-S942) is now officially listed as the Galaxy S26 Pro — hinting at a significant rebrand ahead of the series’ expected January 2026 debut.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-1024x683.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy S25" class="wp-image-692924" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Samsung-Galaxy-S25-1.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h2>Galaxy S26 Pro to replace the base model?</h2>

<p>This change isn’t just about a name. Earlier firmware leaks also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/29/galaxy-s26-pro-edge-kill-samsung-base-models/">mentioned an S26 Pro</a>, further reinforcing that this isn’t a typo or placeholder. The current lineup now seems to consist of Galaxy S26 Pro, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/23/samsung-nail-it-with-galaxy-s26-edge/">S26 Edge</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/29/galaxy-s26-ultra-thinner-than-ever-before/">S26 Ultra</a>, with no clear sign of a regular S26 or S26 Plus.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="183" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Pro-listing.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-699481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Pro-listing.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Pro-listing-300x71.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Samsung-Galaxy-S26-Pro-listing-696x166.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>

<p>If true, this could mean Samsung is repositioning its entry-level flagship to better compete with phones like the iPhone 17 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro. It’s still unclear whether the Pro label reflects real upgrades — such as a better display, larger battery, or improved camera — or if it’s simply a marketing move to make the lineup sound more premium. In Samsung’s past lineups, the “Edge” model typically emphasizes design, while “Ultra” goes all-in on hardware. With the Plus model apparently missing, the Pro variant could end up absorbing its place in the hierarchy.</p>

<p>If this rebrand sticks, expect Samsung’s 2026 flagship series to focus more heavily on premium appeal across all models — possibly with a higher starting price, but also potentially more features for the base-tier buyer.</p>
