The same tablet has appeared on HTML5 benchmarks to reveal the aspect ratio it will be supporting.

The Galaxy Tab S3 that was launched last year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 supports an aspect ratio of 4:3. It features a 9.7-inch screen that supports resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. The HTML5 benchmarks of the forthcoming Samsung SM-T385 reveals that it offers a resolution of 800 x 1200 pixels.

The GFXBench listing of the Galaxy Tab S4 had revealed that the device supports 2560 x 1600 pixels on its 10.5-inch display. The HTML5 benchmarks confirm that the device will be offering an aspect ratio of 16:10. The original Galaxy Tab S had also featured the same aspect ratio. The Galaxy Tab S2 and its successor had arrived with 4:3 aspect ratio display. The Galaxy Tab S4 with 16:10 aspect ratio will deliver a good viewing experience while watching movies on it.

The Galaxy Tab S4 is also seen running on Android 8.0 Oreo in HTML5 benchmarks. This is an indication that the company may release it in the first half of the year. The Samsung devices such as Galaxy Note 9 arriving in the second half of the year are pegged to feature Android 8.1 Oreo. Other rumored specs include Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and native storage of 64 GB. Like the Galaxy Tab S3, it may carry support for S Pen stylus and keyboard.

There is no information on whether Samsung will be debutingt the Galaxy Tab S4 at MWC 2018 in the next week. It goes without saying that the launch of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be one of the major attractions of the MWC 2018

A new Samsung tablet with model number SM-T835 has appeared on GFXBench. Since the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S3 has a model number of SM-T825, it is likely that the SM-T835 that has surfaced on the benchmarking platform could be the Galaxy Tab S4.

The Samsung SM-T835’s GFXBench listing shows that the slate features 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display that will be supporting resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. An octa-core chipset featuring a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor and Adreno 540 graphics powers the tablet. This indicates that the tablet will be fueled by Snapdragon 835.

The SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and it will be arriving with a native storage of 64 GB. For photography, it is likely to arrive with a rear-mounted camera of 12-megapixel. Its front-facing camera is of 8-megapixel. It will be arriving preloaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. The leaked specs suggest that the Galaxy Tab S4 could be the most powerful tablet from the company.

Like the predecessor model, it may also arrive in a Wi-Fi only model. It is also expected to carry support for AKG tuned speakers, S Pen stylus and keyboard. There is no information available on its pricing and availability.

Last year, Samsung chose to skip the MWC launch for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. The tech trade platform was used to unveil the Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy Book 2-in-1 hybrid. However, this year the major attraction of the MWC 2018 will be unveiling the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. Hence, there is no confirmation on whether the South Korean company will be using the same platform to debut the Galaxy Tab S4.

Samsung has been launching its Galaxy S series smartphones a day before Mobile World Congress event since the past few years. However, this year it used the pre-MWC 2017 press conference to announce devices like Galaxy Tab S3, 10.6-inch and 12-inch Galaxy Book. The Galaxy S8 was not unleashed at the event.

The discontinuation of Galaxy Note 7 has allegedly resulted in the pushing back of the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch date. At the Galaxy Tab S3 launch event, the company also revealed a new teaser of the Galaxy to reveal its launch date. The teaser has revealed that the Galaxy S8 Unpacked event will be held on March 29. The launch event will be held at New York.

Here is the official teaser of Galaxy S8 launch event:

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and its larger sibling the Galaxy S8+ would be the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 835 chipset. Recent rumors have stated that Qualcomm has allotted the first batch of SD 835 chipsets to Samsung to power the Galaxy S8 and S8+ units. Hence, smartphones from other brands running on Snapdragon 835 are expected to hit the market only after the release of Galaxy S8.

In the past week, Korean media had revealed that the Galaxy S8 would go on sale by April 21 across the world. Previous rumors had stated that the Galaxy S8 would be launching in South Korea on April 14. However, newer information suggests that factors like size of supplies has resulted in the pushing back of the Galaxy S8 release date to April 21 in the home country.

The LG G6, one of the major rivals of the Galaxy S8 was announced earlier today. The company did not reveal any information on its pricing, but it is expected to sell with a pricing of around $649 to $699. Its pre-orders will run from March 2 to 9 and its shipping will start from March 10.

However, its debut was pushed to the first quarter of 2017. Finally, the Galaxy Tab S3 release date is finally close at hand as the tablet is slated to get announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. A leaked render of the tablet suggests it may be equipped with a dual-edge curved display present on the Galaxy S7.

The Galaxy Tab S2 from August 2016 will be replaced by the newer tablet as it has been already certified by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The drawing of the Tab S3 that was sent to FCC by Samsung has revealed the design of the back panel.

The schematic of the rear panel of the Galaxy Tab S2 for FCC and the design of the real device shows are very similar. Comparing the FCC drawing of the back panel of Tab S3 to that of the real Tab S2 shows that the newer model may be arriving with a slightly refreshed design. Even though the schematics sent to FCC are not 100 percent accurate, but considering the details provided by the Seoul-based company in the past to the certification body, it can be guessed the drawing for Tab S3 is accurate.

Galaxy Tab S3 Renders

Coming to the most interesting part of this report, the front side of the Galaxy Tab S3 is also expected to sport a refreshed design. By looking at the following render it can be guessed that Samsung would be raising the competition bar higher by releasing the Galaxy Tab S3 with a dual-edge curved display like the one present on Galaxy S7 Edge.

It means the tablet may not feature a flat screen. Also, the appearance of the tablet indicates that its industrial design may be very similar to Galaxy S7 Edge and the upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones. However, the authenticity of the image cannot be confirmed.

Galaxy Tab S3 Specifications

The Tab S3 would be equipped with an AMOLED screen of 9.6 inches that will produce a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels. It will provide an aspect ratio of 4:3.

The tablet is expected to be running on Snapdragon 820 and 4 GB of RAM. Previous rumors have stated that an Exynos 7420 chipset with 4 GB of RAM is slated to arrive in select markets. It is expected to come in 32 GB and 128 GB native storage choices.

Its other specs include 12-megapixel rear camera with single LED flash, a 5-megapixel selfie camera, Android 7.1 Nougat OS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C. The tablet is rumored to be powered by 5,870 mAh battery. It is expected to be available in Wi-Fi only and LTE + Wi-Fi variants.

The South Korean company has also confirmed that it won’t be launching the much-awaited Galaxy S8 smartphone at MWC 2017. However, speculations indicate that in order to build more hype around the Galaxy S8, the company may run its teaser at the press meet.

Samsung’s invitation for its Feb. 26 press meet at Barcelona, Spain contains an outline of a tablet. Rumors have it that the company would probably announce the Galaxy Tab S3 tablet at the event. The Korean media are also reporting that Samsung may run a one-minute preview video of Galaxy S8 at its upcoming press conference.

It is likely that the company may tease some features of the Galaxy S8 through the teaser video. Recent rumors have stated that it may unveil the flagship phone on March 29 and make it available for purchase by mid-April.
