Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series also gets storage upgrade offer

Last week, Samsung started offering storage upgrade promotions for the Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in the US. Up until then, this offer was limited to the Galaxy S series smartphones.

Just a few days later, the same offer is now available for the high-end Galaxy Tab S9 family as well. Buyers can avail of benefits on all three models.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

Samsung has extended the storage upgrade offer to the WiFi variants of the Galaxy Tab S9 series in the US. Thus, consumers can now get the higher storage model for the price of the base model from Samsung.com

This means the 12GB + 256B version of the Galaxy Tab S9 now costs the same as the 8GB + 128GB variant ($799.99) instead of $919.99. The base variant cannot be ordered, at least for the time being.

It is clever of Samsung to upsell the higher variant by discounting it, rather than bringing down the starting price by offering a discount on the base model.

Similarly, the 12GB + 512GB memory configurations of Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra are available for $999.99 and $1199.99, respectively. They would normally cost $1199.99 and $1319.99, respectively.

The only variant that’s not on discount is the top-end 16GB + 1TB version of Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. This one is still listed at its launch price of $1619.99.

On top of the storage upgrade offer, buyers can avail trade-in bonus to further lower the price of these tablets.

That being said, we are not sure how long this offer will be valid. Also, we have no info on if and when this promotion will be made available in other regions.

Samsung recently held its Galaxy Unpacked event where it unveiled a bunch of new anticipated products. One of the announcements included the latest flagship Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets. And now, the Indian pricing for these large-screen devices has been revealed.

The South Korean tech giant’s new tablets arrive in two color options, namely Graphite and Beige. These will also come with no-cost EMI options for up to 18 months. Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series tablets along with the fifth-generation foldable smartphones on July 26th. Ahead of the launch, the renders as well as the specifications of the upcoming tablets have leaked online. Now, a new leak has surfaced with details about the Canadian price points of the tablets.

According to a tweet by well-known tipster SnoopyTech, the 8GB/128GB version of the Galaxy Tab S9 will have a price of around CAD 1,099.99. Similarly, the Galaxy Tab S9+ with 12GB/256GB is speculated to be priced at approximately CAD 1,349.99. The highest-end model, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra with 12GB/256GB, has been mentioned in rumors with a price tag of CAD 1,599.99.

To recall, the pricing details for the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup for Europe have emerged. The base variant of the Galaxy Tab S9, featuring 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, is expected to start at EUR 929. Meanwhile, the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option is anticipated to be priced at EUR 1,049. The Galaxy Tab S9+ with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is rumored to have a price tag of EUR 1,149. Lastly, the top-of-the-line Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, equipped with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is speculated to be priced at EUR 1,369.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series specs

Rumor has it that the entire Galaxy S9 tablet series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy SoC under the hood. This is the same chipset the brand is using in the Galaxy S23 smartphones and it has a higher maximum clock speed of 3.36GHz compared to the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

The Galaxy Tab S9 is said to feature an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a WQXGA resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It may come equipped with a 12 MP front camera and a 13 MP rear camera. Powering the device could be an 8,400 mAh battery, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage to handle multitasking and storage needs. Notable features of the Galaxy Tab S9 include four speakers, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking, and an S-Pen with bilateral charging for seamless creative input.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is rumored to offer a larger 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a WQXGA+ resolution of 2800 x 1782 pixels. It is expected to feature a 12 MP front camera and a rear camera setup comprising of a 13 MP lens along with an 8 MP lens for versatile photography capabilities. The tablet might house a substantial 10,090 mAh battery for extended usage. With 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is likely to provide ample memory and storage capacity for users. Like its smaller counterpart, it is expected to include four speakers, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, and support for the S-Pen with bilateral charging.

The highest-end model in the lineup, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, is rumored to feature an expansive 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a WQXGA+ resolution of 2960 x 1898 pixels. It is speculated to offer a dual front camera setup, combining two 12 MP lenses, while the rear camera setup is rumored to consist of a 13 MP lens and an 8 MP lens. To support its large display and power-intensive tasks, the tablet may be equipped with an 11,200 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ surfaces on NBTC ahead of its late July launch

Samsung is gearing up to launch a bunch of new products later this month, including the new Galaxy Tab S9 series. But prior to the official release, the Galaxy Tab S9+ model was spotted on the NBTC certification website.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ certified in Thailand

The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S9+ was recently spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification website. For those unaware, the company is set to launch the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in the market soon. We have already seen these tablet models get certified in a number of websites already. The latest sighting shows that the new flagship grade tablet carries the SM-X816B model number, which is in line with our previous reports.

Back in June, we had reported on leaked marketing materials that showcased the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup. Similarly, the Galaxy Tab S9+ had even surfaced on the GeekBench benchmarking platform as well in April. Based on what we know so far, the brand will be launching the tablets alongside a number of other gadgets sometime later this month. This launch event could be set within the last week of July, possibly around the 26th or 27th.

Unfortunately, not a lot of information was shared on the online database but we know that the device will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The new tablet lineup will supports 45W fast charging as well and offer 120Hz refresh rate from their OLED displays. According to recent leaks, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected to continue the tradition of 45W fast charging for its high-end tablets. While other smartphone brands have been pushing higher charging speeds, Samsung appears to be sticking with its reliable 45W fast charging technology.

Galaxy Tab S9 series will continue to feature 45W charging

Certification listings from TUV Rheinland, a testing and certification firm, reveal the presence of two models in the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup. Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ appears on Geekbench with Overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC

Samsung is planning to introduce its new range of flagship Android tablets in the second half of 2023. The lineup is expected to feature three tablets: Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus, and Tab S9 Ultra. While the Ultra variant has already had a bunch of leaks, not much is known about the Plus model. Now, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus has made an appearance on Geekbench.

The Tab S9 Plus appeared on Geekbench with the model number SM-X818U. The listing has revealed its performance along with some key specifications. The model number reveals that the device is meant for the US market. It features an octa-core processor with a 1 + 3 + 4 core configuration. The codename “Kamala” reveals that it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

What’s interesting is the peak clock speed, which is more than what the stock Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip comes with. This all but confirms that the chipset inside this tablet is the special Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. The same chip is used in the Galaxy S23 flagship smartphone lineup. The device is expected to come with a whopping 12GB of RAM and will run on the latest Android 13 operating system out of the box.

The Samsung flagship tablet put up an impressive performance during the Geekbench 5 benchmark test, achieving a single-core score of 2049 points and a multi-core score of around 5492 points. While this is a commendable feat, it remains to be seen if the tablet can maintain this level of performance over time. Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus CAD renders emerge to reveal design from all angles

Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Tab S9 series of flagship tablets. Reports have claimed that the Tab S9 family may debut alongside the Galaxy Fold 5 and Flip 5 in August this year. A couple of months before the expected launch, reliable tipster OnLeaks has teamed with Woloftablet to share the CAD renders of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 Plus. The new renders give a good look at the tablet’s design from all angles.

The design of the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is not different from that of its predecessor. One noticeable change is that there are now separate camera units on the back. This is a design style that Samsung used on the Galaxy S23 series and the most recent A-series phones.

The Galaxy Tab S8 Plus has dimensions of 285 x 185 x 5.7mm. The new leak reveals that the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus measures 285.4 x 185.4 x 5.64mm. Hence, the Tab S9+ will not offer a visual improvement in terms of design as compared to its predecessor.

The CAD renders show that the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus has a single camera on the front and is equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The device will continue to feature quad speakers and carry support for the S Pen stylus.

A recent report claimed that the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup will also include two other models, the Galaxy Tab S9 and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. All three models are said to offer IP67-rated water and dust resistance. The Tab S9 series is said to be powered by the custom version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which also powers the Galaxy S23 series.

Samsung is known for its high-quality Android tablets, and it looks like the company is ready to take its game to the next level with the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. According to recent reports, the new lineup will consist of three models, including the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Here are the details…

Samsung readying three Galaxy Tab S9 models, including an Ultra

Specs about the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series are still unknown. However, we do know that they will come with an official IP rating for dust and water resistance. If that’s true, they will be the first waterproof flagship tablets from Samsung, which is a significant improvement from previous models.

The addition of an Ultra model is not surprising, considering that Samsung has been using the Ultra branding for its most powerful devices. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will likely offer top-of-the-line features, although we don’t know what those features will be yet. Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S8 series one and a half years after the Galaxy Tab S7 family. A report from South Korea now says that the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series will be also delayed.

The next-gen premium tablets from the company were originally planned to release in December 2022. But now, it seems that they would be introduced next year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

The information regarding the delayed launch of the Galaxy Tab S9 family of tablets comes from The Elec. As per the report, Samsung’s decision is due to the recent global economic uncertainty.

As the COVID-19 global pandemic has almost ended, the demand for IT products has started dropping worldwide. Samsung planned to produce 33.6 million units of tablets in 2022. But due to poor demand, the company may not be able to fulfill its plan.

DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) predicts that the overall tablet market will decrease by 8% this year. However, the premium tablet category (OLED and Mini LED) is expected to grow by 22%.

Hence, Samsung is said to have a new plan for its next-gen flagship tablets. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will reportedly have three models, just like the Galaxy Tab S8 series.

In other words, there will be a vanilla model, a plus version, and an ultra variant. The latter two will flaunt an OLED panel, while the former will arrive with an LCD screen.
