The Galaxy XCover 5 is expected to be Samsung’s next rugged smartphone. This device is in the news for quite a while now. This handset’s last leak revealed its entire specifications along with price. Almost two weeks later, we now get to see its front design for the very first time.

The front render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 was shared by popular leaker Evan Blass. As per the image, the handset will feature no notch or punch-hole like modern smartphones. Instead, it will come with a huge forehead and a chin.

Further, the render also reveals this forthcoming phone to sport the useful red-accented programmable XCover key on the left side. Whereas, the usual power and volume keys will be located on the right side. Lastly, the front-facing camera will be housed at the top centre.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy XCover 5 will flaunt a 5.3-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+). The device will be powered by Exynos 850 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

For photography and videography, the phone will feature a single 16MP sensor with an F/1.8 aperture lens on the back and a 5MP sensor on the front with an f/2.2 aperture lens. Further, this 4G-only smartphone will run One UI 3.x based on Android 11 and sport features like a MicroSD card slot, 3,000mAh battery, 15W fast charging, NFC, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Knox.

Last but not least, the MIL-STD-810G and IP68-certified Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 rugged smartphone for durability as well as dust and water resistance will retail for €300 in Europe. Initially, it will be only available for businesses.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy XCover 5 very soon. This rugged smartphone from the company is in the news since November 2020. Now, ahead of its official launch, its entire specs have leaked.

The Galaxy XCover 5 specifications leak comes from Roland Quandt of WinFuture. He just leaked the entire spec sheet and press renders of Galaxy A72 4G in the weekend and is already back again with another Samsung handset.

According to him, this upcoming phone will sport a 5.3-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+). But don’t expect it to be a compact device as it should have large bezels like most rugged smartphones.

Further, it will be powered by Exynos 850 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. For those unaware, this chipset is meant for budget smartphones and is found inside the recently announced Galaxy M12.

As for optics, it will feature a single 16MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens. Other features of this handset will include a microSD card slot, NFC, Samsung Pay, Samsung Knox, and Android 11 with One UI 3.x interface on top of it.

Being a rugged phone, it will be MIL-STD-810G-certified for durability, IP68-certified for dust and water resistance, and will be backed by a removable 3,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

Last but not least, the Galaxy Xcover 5 will be only sold for businesses initially and will cost under €300 in Europe.

Back in November 2020, it was reported that Samsung was working on its next-gen rugged smartphone called Galaxy XCover 5. Now, two months later, this handset has popped up on Geekbench but with a twist.

The previous report on the Galaxy XCover 5 by GalaxyClub said it to come with model number SM-G501B. But now, the same publication reveals that it will be not the case.

According to this device’s Geekbench listing, it will bear the model number SM-G525F. Above all, it will come with 4G and not 5G as expected earlier. As of now, it is not sure if there is a 5G variant. If it exists, we can expect it to sport the model number SM-G526B.

That said, the new rugged smartphone from Samsung will be powered by the company’s own Exynos 850 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. This chipset has scored 182 points and 1148 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests respectively. Whereas, for software, the phone will run Android 11.

Nothing else is known about this handset apart from the above-mentioned parameters. But we expect to learn more about it before it goes official sometime in the near future.

Lastly, as far as the device with model number SM-G501B is concerned, GalaxyClub suggests that it could be the Galaxy S21. Because Samsung is known for faking the Galaxy S series phones with different model numbers while benchmarking them.
