<p>Samsung in a press release <a href="https://www.samsungmobilepress.com/pressreleases/samsung-one-ui-3-1-update-brings-select-powerful-features-from-the-galaxy-s21-to-the-galaxy-s20-galaxy-note20-and-galaxy-z-series">announced</a> that it will bring the latest One UI 3.1 update to various flagship and mid-range series of devices. You can take a look at the list below:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20">Samsung Galaxy S20</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-plus">Samsung Galaxy S20+</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra">Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe">Samsung Galaxy S20 FE</a>*</li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20">Samsung Galaxy Note20</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra">Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>*-The Galaxy S20 FE started receiving it a  few days ago but Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/13/samsung-pulls-galaxy-s20-fe-one-ui-3-1-update/">had to pull it back</a> reportedly due to various issues.</p>
<p>Samsung launched the One UI 3.1 back when it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/14/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-launched-as-the-first-s-series-phone-with-s-pen-support/">announced</a> the Galaxy S21 series of devices in January. These devices are the first ones to carry the UI out of the box. It then started updating the older devices by pushing the UI update via OTA(Over-The-Air).</p>
<p>Anyway, the latest update is rolling out to various regions in the UK, Europe(like Austria, Germany), and South Korea. If you are someone living in these regions, you can try out the new features by navigating to Software Update in Settings.</p>
<p>The One UI 3.1 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/10/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-5g-gets-one-ui-3-1-update/">brings features</a> like Improved performance, Private Share, GPS location data removal on Images, more Lock screen widgets, Background Video Calling, Google Discover on Home Screen, Zoom Lock(in camera), and more.</p>
<p>That said, a report by Sammobile <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/psa-one-ui-3-1-update-no-google-discover/">says</a> that Samsung hasn&#8217;t brought the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-discover">Google Discover</a>, Google Messages to the devices with this update. This means it is still exclusive to the Galaxy S21 devices for now.</p>
<p>Users in other regions need not panic as Samsung will eventually roll out the update soon in the coming days. Also, in the news, Samsung has mentioned devices like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a90">Galaxy A90</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a70">Galaxy A70</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a80">Galaxy A80</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a51">Galaxy A51</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a71">A71</a>. We will have to wait for a few days to know when Samsung starts their rollout.</p>

<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.tizenhelp.com/galaxy-s10-z-flip-fold-2-one-ui-3-0-beta-update-postponed/">Tizenhelp</a>(via <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-delays-one-ui-3-0-beta-for-galaxy-s10-and-more">Sammobile</a>), a Beta Operation Manager has informed the new decision on Samsung&#8217;s South Korean community forums. As per the post, the manager says they are working to stabilize the errors since the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-3">One UI 3.0</a> beta update for Galaxy <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10">Note 10</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10-plus">Note 10+</a> rolled out. Further, he mentions that the postponement will last till the stabilization work is done to some extent. Henceforth, we can expect the update cycle to resume for Galaxy S10 models and beyond.</p>
<p>That said, as per the report, the prime issue is the battery drain on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10">Galaxy Note 10</a> series devices. Additionally, few other users also faced app crashes. Besides, the report also says Samsung rolled out the One UI 3.0 update for <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g">Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a> yesterday. But quickly pulled it back and now the community page shows the UI update for the device as &#8216;coming soon&#8217;.  This is probably to avoid the above issues extending to other devices.</p>
<p>Samsung confirmed the OneUI 3.0 based on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> back at the event on August 5. The beta program began after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/06/samsung-announces-android-11-based-one-ui-3-developer-beta-for-galaxy-s20-series/">initial developer build</a>. And was already on course with Beta Program and a vision to bring it close to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/10/rumor-samsung-to-update-90-devices-to-one-ui-3-0-android-11/">90 devices</a>. Anyway, the public final version will reportedly roll out before 2020 ends. We hope that Samsung finds a fix soon so that it can continue the earlier pace and stick to the plan.</p>

<p>As reported on the official <a href="https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/all/your-phone-app-apps-feature-multiple-mobile-apps/abc743ed-9a99-4f8a-be58-18311f692ecb?auth=1">website</a>(via <a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/11/06/a-whole-bunch-of-samsung-phones-can-now-stream-multiple-apps-to-windows-pcs/">Android Police</a>), the new feature enables running multiple android apps simultaneously. However, it is currently available only for a few Samsung devices. For PC, the feature is currently available for the Windows Insider community who are in Developer, Beta, or Release Preview channels. The list of Samsung devices with &#8220;Link to Windows Integration&#8221; that supports the Multiple App streaming features is as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note20-ultra-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2-5g/">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>The update also extends to devices running One UI 3.0 beta currently based on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11">Android 11</a> as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-plus-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 5G</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra-5g/">Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>So multiple-app streaming requires Windows May 2020 update or Later. And a minimum of Android 10. Plus, to enable it, make sure you have the following apps updated to the versions as below:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your Phone on PC- <span class="">1.20102.132.0 or</span> higher.</li>
<li>Your Phone Companion App- <span class="">1.20102.133.0</span> or higher.</li>
<li>Link to Windows Service version- 2.1.05.2 or newer. You can update this <a href="https://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.microsoft.appmanager">here</a>. If you aren&#8217;t signed up for the beta, you can <a href="http://go.androidpolice.com/?id=85009X1537243&amp;isjs=1&amp;jv=14.4.0-stackpath&amp;sref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.androidpolice.com%2F2020%2F11%2F06%2Fa-whole-bunch-of-samsung-phones-can-now-stream-multiple-apps-to-windows-pcs%2F&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fapps.samsung.com%2Fbetastore%2FopenAppDetail.as%3FappId%3Dcom.samsung.android.mdx&amp;xguid=01EK07XZRTX158TXTVAGXA4AW1&amp;xs=1&amp;xtz=-330&amp;xuuid=a18be164fee9ed7d42484855b0898332&amp;abp=1&amp;xjsf=other_click__auxclick%20%5B2%5D">apply</a> for that too.</li>
</ul>
<p>That said, Microsoft says this is an early preview, and hence will gradually roll out to all users. Also, the update has limitations like Sound Sync between PC and Mobile, Mouse Input not recognized by Apps, and more. You can take a look at them below:</p>

                <style type="text/css">

<h4><strong>What is Microsoft Your Phone?</strong></h4>
<p>For the unware, Microsoft&#8217;s Your Phone is the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/03/microsoft-brings-android-mirroring-on-windows-10/">solution to connect Smartphones</a> to the Windows platform. Users running <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/windows-10">Windows 10</a> can download the Your Phone App from Microsoft Store. And use it to access Media, Messages, Calls, and now multiple Apps as well. Previously, in the early update for support of Apps, Microsoft explained how the feature works.</p>
<p>As per the official post, a Wi-Fi connection between PC, and Mobile will allow apps to stream on the PC through Your Phone. Users can browse, Play, Order food, Chat, and do a lot more on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/pc">PC</a> screen. Besides, users can also add the Apps to Favourites, Pin them to Start Menu and Taskbar. And use them side-by-side with other apps on your PC.</p>

<p>The Galaxy Z Flip 5G is a more powerful version of Samsung&#8217;s beloved vertically folding smartphone. Not only does it bring 5G support but it also replaces the Snapdragon 855+ Mobile Platform with the new Snapdragon 865 Plus. It brings these new features for $1449.99 (¥12,499 in China), $70 more than the price of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip/">4G version</a> that launched last year. We don&#8217;t need to tell you which one to buy.</p>
<p>While the rest of the spec sheet remains unchanged, there have been some minor software upgrades. Flex Mode should work better now and the Edge Panel has new features.</p>

<p>The phone comes in Mystic Gray and Mystic Bronze. The phone will go on sale on August 7 and will be sold by AT&amp;T and T-Mobile in the US while unlocked versions can be bought on Samsung&#8217;s own website as well as on Amazon, and Best Buy.</p>

While a few specs and features have been claimed, a new report has revealed the possible pricing as well.</p>
<p><a href="http://english.etnews.com/20200720200002" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ETNews</a> reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will not feature a significant price difference between last gen models. Rather, the pricing might remain the same if not similar, with the <span class="post-body">Galaxy Z Fold 2 </span>being priced at 2.4 million KRW (roughly 1,990 US Dollars) and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G arriving at 1.65 million KRW (roughly 1,370 US Dollars).</p>
<figure id="attachment_330088" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-330088" style="width: 379px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-330088" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-5G.gif?x10805" alt="Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Flip-5G" width="379" height="674" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-330088" class="wp-caption-text">Galaxy Z Flip 5G</figcaption></figure>
<p>Furthermore, the report also claims that the new Galaxy Z Fold 2 will not be bundled with the company&#8217;s truly wireless earbuds in the box. Reportedly, the aforementioned pricing is just temporary and the South Korean tech giant is working internally for the actual pricing and plans on working with telecom operators to finalize other details as well.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/20/redmi-note-9-for-rs-11999-160-brings-5020mah-battery-22-5w-fast-charging-48mp-quad-cameras-and-6-53-inch-display/">Redmi Note 9 for Rs. 11,999 (~$160) brings 5,020mAh battery, 22.5W fast charging, 48MP quad cameras, and 6.53-inch display</a></strong></h6>
<p>Apparently, internal discussion within Samsung had brought up reducing the price for foldable handsets to increase their popularity. Although, the company could not lower the price any further due to the use of advanced processes, expensive components like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/utg/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">UTG</a> (ultra thin glass), and other innovative technologies.</p>
<figure id="attachment_313223" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-313223" style="width: 1280px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-313223 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06.jpeg?x10805" alt="Samsung" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06.jpeg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Galaxy-Fold-2-Concept-Renders-Rumours-Based-06-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-313223" class="wp-caption-text">Galaxy Fold 2 Concept Renders</figcaption></figure>
<p>So while the newer generation would be an improvement over the predecessors, its unlikely that an affordable smartphone will make it into the market this year. Notably, while the upcoming and current lineup of foldable devices is priced at ultra premium segments, the company will launch cheaper models in 2021, when supplies get more stable.</p>

Another South Korean publication has revealed the names of other devices that are expected to go official alongside the above-mentioned devices. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Samsung will be holding an online event to announce its new devices.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20200609000629">The Korea Herald</a>, </em>Samsung will be launching <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g/">Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/08/galaxy-watch-3-branding-confirmed-will-come-in-41mm-and-45mm-sizes/">Galaxy Watch 3</a> along with Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy Fold 2. Even reliable <a href="https://twitter.com/jon_prosser/status/1270331034375200775">tipster <em>Jon Prosser</em></a> tweeted that the company would launch Galaxy Z Flip 5G on Aug. 5. The tipster believes that the Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy Fold 2, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available for purchase from Aug. 20.</p>
<p>The South Korean publication has not revealed any information on the specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Samsung had launched Snapdragon 855 powered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Galaxy Z Flip</a> clamshell phone with foldable display earlier this year. The elegant device did not carry support for 5G connectivity. It is unclear which processor will be driving the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Some rumors have claimed that the upcoming 5G edition will have a base storage of 256 GB and it may come in a new brown color.</p>
