A fresh round of accessory leaks from case maker Thinborne may have given us an early look at Samsung‘s next foldables, including the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

The case for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks fairly unsurprising. Based on the leaked renders, Samsung doesn’t appear to be making any major changes to the overall design.

The Fold lineup is where things start to get more interesting.

We have been seeing renders and dummy units of the wider Fold model for some time now, but the leaked cases add another piece of evidence pointing in the same direction.

The fact that accessory makers are already producing cases based on these dimensions also lends some credibility to the rumors. Case manufacturers typically work from supply chain information and early device measurements, which suggests the wider aspect ratio and revised camera layout we’ve been seeing in leaks may be reasonably close to the final product.

Samsung’s tall and narrow Fold design has its fans, but several competing foldables have already moved toward wider displays, and the response has generally been positive.

The wider form factor may also give Samsung more room to differentiate an “Ultra” model without completely reworking the formula.

According to current rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could be slightly slimmer than the Fold 7 while packing a larger 5,000mAh battery, a notable jump from the 4,400mAh capacity Samsung has used for several generations.

The Fold 8 Ultra case image doesn’t reveal much on its own, but it does support the idea that Samsung is focusing on refinement rather than a dramatic redesign.

One detail that stood out, however, is the mention of Samsung’s Carbon Standing Case. It has a built-in stand makes a lot of sense on a large foldable, particularly for watching videos, video calls, or using the device at a desk.

Taken together, the leaks suggest Samsung is continuing to expand its foldable strategy rather than simply releasing yearly upgrades.

Samsung is expected to unveil the new foldables during its next Galaxy Unpacked event next month.

Samsung‘s next foldable may finally address one of the most common complaints about the Galaxy Z Fold series.

According to Ice Universe, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature a 5,000mAh battery paired with 45W wired charging. If accurate, that would be a noticeable step up from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which shipped with a 4,400mAh battery and 25W charging.

Samsung has kept the Fold series at 4,400mAh for several generations, even as competitors like the Oppo Find N6 and the Honor Magic V5 have reached the 6,000mAh mark. A jump to 5,000mAh would not suddenly make the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra a battery monster, but it would certainly narrow the gap.

What’s particularly interesting is that the larger battery reportedly comes without any penalty in size or weight. Ice Universe claims the Fold 8 Ultra will remain around 215g while measuring roughly 4.1mm unfolded and 8.9mm folded.

Current rumors point to two different Fold models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to retain the familiar tall-and-narrow form factor Samsung has used for years. Meanwhile, the wider Fold variant, which earlier leaks referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, is rumored to adopt a shorter and noticeably wider design. Recent reports suggest Samsung may ultimately market that device simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The wider model is also rumored to receive battery and charging upgrades of its own. Some reports point to a 4,800mAh battery combined with the same 45W charging support.

The battery upgrade may end up being one of the biggest changes in the Fold 8 lineup. Bigger batteries benefit users every single day, long after the excitement surrounding new designs and specifications wears off.

The publication claims that multiple model numbers linked to the device have appeared in certification records, pointing to availability through several major Japanese mobile operators as well as an unlocked version.

As can be seen in the image above, the reported model numbers include:

–  SC-56G for NTT Docomo

– SCG39 for Au

– SM-F976C for Rakuten Mobile

– SM-F976Q for the SIM-free variant

– SM-F976Z for SoftBank

If accurate, this would mean Samsung plans to make the device available through all major carrier channels in Japan. However, we were unable to locate the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra listing on the Bluetooth SIG database independently, so this report should be taken with a pinch of salt until further confirmation emerges.

One of the most notable aspects of the leak is the use of the “Ultra” branding. Samsung’s Fold series has traditionally followed a simpler naming strategy, making this the first time an Ultra-branded Fold model has been linked to the lineup.

Previous rumors have suggested that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could retain a design philosophy similar to earlier Fold models, while a separate Galaxy Z Fold 8 variant may adopt a wider display format. Samsung’s next foldables may arrive with simpler names than previously expected. According to a new leak from Ice Universe, the company could be dropping the confusing “Wide” and “Large” branding that had been floating around recent rumors for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup.

Instead, the device previously rumored as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide may launch simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the higher-end model could reportedly debut as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

If accurate, the change would make Samsung’s foldable lineup much easier to understand. Names like “Z Fold 8 Wide” and “Galaxy Z Wide Fold” have appeared in leaks over the past few months, but many people felt the branding sounded awkward and unnecessarily complicated.

The rumored Ultra model is expected to sit above the standard Fold 8 with a few notable hardware upgrades. Current reports suggest it could feature a larger 5000mAh battery along with a more advanced triple-camera setup that includes a dedicated telephoto lens. Meanwhile, the regular Fold 8 is tipped to use a slightly smaller 4800mAh battery and a simpler dual-camera system.

Both devices are still expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and refined foldable displays, although the standard model may adopt a more compact aspect ratio compared to the Ultra variant.
