<p>Samsung in a press release <a href="https://www.samsungmobilepress.com/pressreleases/samsung-one-ui-3-1-update-brings-select-powerful-features-from-the-galaxy-s21-to-the-galaxy-s20-galaxy-note20-and-galaxy-z-series">announced</a> that it will bring the latest One UI 3.1 update to various flagship and mid-range series of devices. You can take a look at the list below:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20">Samsung Galaxy S20</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-plus">Samsung Galaxy S20+</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra">Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe">Samsung Galaxy S20 FE</a>*</li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20">Samsung Galaxy Note20</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra">Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2">Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g">Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G</a></li>
</ul>
<p>*-The Galaxy S20 FE started receiving it a  few days ago but Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/13/samsung-pulls-galaxy-s20-fe-one-ui-3-1-update/">had to pull it back</a> reportedly due to various issues.</p>
<p>Samsung launched the One UI 3.1 back when it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/14/samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-launched-as-the-first-s-series-phone-with-s-pen-support/">announced</a> the Galaxy S21 series of devices in January. These devices are the first ones to carry the UI out of the box. It then started updating the older devices by pushing the UI update via OTA(Over-The-Air).</p>
<p>Anyway, the latest update is rolling out to various regions in the UK, Europe(like Austria, Germany), and South Korea. If you are someone living in these regions, you can try out the new features by navigating to Software Update in Settings.</p>
<p>The One UI 3.1 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/10/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-5g-gets-one-ui-3-1-update/">brings features</a> like Improved performance, Private Share, GPS location data removal on Images, more Lock screen widgets, Background Video Calling, Google Discover on Home Screen, Zoom Lock(in camera), and more.</p>
<p>That said, a report by Sammobile <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/psa-one-ui-3-1-update-no-google-discover/">says</a> that Samsung hasn&#8217;t brought the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-discover">Google Discover</a>, Google Messages to the devices with this update. This means it is still exclusive to the Galaxy S21 devices for now.</p>
<p>Users in other regions need not panic as Samsung will eventually roll out the update soon in the coming days. Also, in the news, Samsung has mentioned devices like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a90">Galaxy A90</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a70">Galaxy A70</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a80">Galaxy A80</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a51">Galaxy A51</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-a71">A71</a>. We will have to wait for a few days to know when Samsung starts their rollout.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/next-gen-galaxy-z-fold-3-rumored-cost-the-same-fold-2/">Sammobile</a>, a Twitter user <em>@MauriQHD</em> hints that the price of Galaxy Z Fold3 could cost the same as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2-5g/">Galaxy Z Fold2</a>. Now, he has just tweeted &#8220;Z Fold3, same price atm(at the moment)&#8221;. Although he hasn&#8217;t mentioned it explicitly, it&#8217;s quite obvious that he is referring to the predecessor here(Z Fold2). If this happens, Samsung would school the other foldables that are lined up for 2021.</p>
<p>This is because, if you aren&#8217;t aware, Galaxy Z Fold2 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/11/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2-launch-india-%e2%82%b9149999-2039/">launched</a> at a very cheaper price tag($2,039) in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/11/samsung-galaxy-z-fold2-launch-india-%e2%82%b9149999-2039/">India</a> compared to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/28/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-2-price-revealed-1799/">UK</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/09/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-2-launched-in-china-starts-at-%c2%a516999-2483/">China</a>. And at that price, it offers quite a bit of features with reliability compared to the competition. It&#8217;s a no-brainer that Samsung has been leading the foldable market. Forecasts already say that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/16/dscc-samsung-will-lead-the-foldable-smartphone-market-with-over-80-share-by-year-end/">Galaxy Z Flip will be the best-selling foldable</a> for 2020.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Fold 3</p>
<p>same price atm <a href="https://t.co/7z0tgfDdqr">pic.twitter.com/7z0tgfDdqr</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Mauri QHD (@MauriQHD) <a href="https://twitter.com/MauriQHD/status/1331906331364626439?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 26, 2020</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>And it is already in plans to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/30/samsung-expand-foldable-phone-portfolio-2021/">expand more</a> for the next year. So just like this year, if Samsung manages to price Z Fold3 same as Z Fold2, it would be one of the popular devices in 2021. This is because reports say it is going to bring <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/06/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-3-with-under-display-camera-likely-to-offer-full-screen-experience/">significant upgrades</a> over the predecessor. Precisely, the device will feature an under-display(<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/19/samsung-to-pioneer-its-own-ud-camera-tech-on-the-galaxy-z-fold-3/">UD</a>) camera, improved UTG glass with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/23/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-3-to-adopter-aes-digitizer-thicker-utg-for-s-pen-support/">AES digitizer</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/30/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-3-with-an-s-pen-report/">S-Pen support</a>, and more.</p>
<p>Anyway, the tipster asks us to take this info with a pinch of salt although the source has a 100% track record. This is understandable considering the launch is almost a year away now, and Samsung might change anything along the way. Nevertheless, the company will probably <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/18/samsung-likely-working-on-galaxy-z-flip-lite/">democratize foldables</a> with cheaper options like Galaxy Z Flip Lite next year.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The issue, as reported by </span><a href="https://www.tizenhelp.com/galaxy-z-fold-2-one-ui-3-0-beta-released-with-serious-unlocking-bugs/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Tizenhelp</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">(via </span><a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-locked-out-galaxy-z-fold-2-users-with-one-ui-3-0-beta/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Sammobile</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">), popped up on the Samsung Community <a href="https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/%EA%B0%A4%EB%9F%AD%EC%8B%9C-%ED%8F%B4%EB%8D%94%EB%B8%94/z%ED%8F%B4%EB%93%9C2-%EB%B2%A0%ED%83%80%EC%97%85%EB%8D%B0%EC%9D%B4%ED%8A%B8-%ED%95%98%EC%A7%80-%EB%A7%88%EC%84%B8%EC%9A%94/td-p/7857290">forums</a> in South Korea soon after it rolled out. Accordingly, the new One UI 3.0 Beta update for</span><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-z-fold2"><span style="font-weight: 400"> Galaxy Z Fold2</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> with firmware version </span><b>F916NKSU1ZTKB</b><span style="font-weight: 400"> came with a serious bug. After updating, users tried to unlock the device with a password, fingerprint, or other method but it became useless. If you recall, Samsung </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/17/samsung-reportedly-postpones-one-ui-3-0-beta-program-for-galaxy-s10-z-flip-5g-more/"><span style="font-weight: 400">had to postpone</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> the Beta update for other devices following issues with battery and performance on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-10">Galaxy Note 10.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Only a couple of days back, the company </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/23/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-starts-getting-the-one-ui-3-0-beta-update/"><span style="font-weight: 400">had resumed</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> the One UI 3.0 Beta program starting with </span><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-flip"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy Z Flip</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Consequently, it became the first foldable device to get the One UI 3.0 Beta based on Android 11. While we thought Samsung must have fixed the issues on the previous instance, it seems the update for the next foldable device brings different issues.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Samsung confirmed the OneUI 3.0 based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-11"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> back at the event on August 5. The beta program began after the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/06/samsung-announces-android-11-based-one-ui-3-developer-beta-for-galaxy-s20-series/"><span style="font-weight: 400">initial developer build</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. And the company is trying to hit the target right and reportedly has a vision to bring it close to </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/10/rumor-samsung-to-update-90-devices-to-one-ui-3-0-android-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">90 devices</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Anyway, the public final version will likely roll out before 2020 ends.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">That said, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> has reportedly rolled back the update before it affects a large audience. In any case, if you are someone who is living in South Korea and you have accidentally updated it, one way out is “Factory reset”. However, if you haven’t updated your foldable yet, we suggest you to avoid it and wait till Samsung fixes the issue.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">In similar news, the company has reportedly started rolling out the One UI 3.0 Beta update to the yesteryear flagships like </span><span style="font-weight: 400"> </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s10"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy S10</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s10-plus"><span style="font-weight: 400">S10+</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s10e"><span style="font-weight: 400">S10e</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> in countries like India, UK, and South Korea. To try it out, open Samsung Members App and click on the One UI banner. Then, signup for the program and then install it via Settings-&gt;Software Updates-&gt;Download and Install.</span></p>
