Ugreen has recently launched its new 160W Nexode Pro Gallium Nitride (GaN) charger, a highly efficient and compact device designed to cater to the fast-paced charging needs of modern electronics. This latest model from Ugreen is a significant step up from its predecessor, the 140W charger, as it brings a slew of enhanced features and capabilities.

The Nexode Pro charger features an advanced GaNInfinity Gallium Nitride chip at its core. This chip offers several advantages, including a reduction in core component size and notable improvements in temperature control and energy efficiency, achieving an impressive efficiency rating of 95%.

The charger sports a 3C1A four-port design, which includes three USB-C ports and one USB-A port. This design allows for versatile and simultaneous charging of multiple devices. The first USB-C port supports a formidable 140W of fast charging, while the second can deliver up to 100W. HTC has quietly launched a new version of its 65W Gallium Nitride charger in China. It features two USB Type-C interfaces and one USB Type-A interface, enabling simultaneous charging of up to three devices. Let’s learn more about it in detail here.

HTC 65W Gallium Nitride (GaN) Charger Overview

HTC’s new 65W GaN charger is available in black and white and features a foldable pin mechanism for convenient portability.

It boasts two USB Type-C and one USB Type-A port for charging multiple devices simultaneously. The dual USB Type-C ports can deliver a combined power output of 45W and 20W, while all three ports together can output 45W, 7.5W, and 7.5W simultaneously.

Specifically, the Type-C port offers five different charging voltages: 55V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 12V/3A (36W), 15V/3A (45W), and 20V/3.25A (65W).

Meanwhile, the USB Type-A interface offers six levels: 4.5V/5A (22.5W), 5V/4.5A (22.5W), 9V/3A (27W), 12V/3A (36W), 15V/3A (45W), and 20V/3A (60W), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices.

Moreover, the charger boasts compatibility with a wide range of charging protocols, including PD3.0, PD2.0, PPS, QC3.0, QC2.0, ACF, SCP, and MTK.

Measuring 68 x 41 x 31mm and weighing only 116.23 grams, the charger is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry and store.

Direct charging for laptops: Lenovo’s new 65W power strip

One of the standout features of this power strip is its use of third-generation gallium nitride material, which allows it to deliver a maximum output of 65W per port. This means that not only can it charge multiple devices simultaneously, but it can also fast charge laptops directly, eliminating the need for bulky brick-like adapters.

Dell launches its first-ever 90W Gallium Nitride(GaN) USB-C PD 3.0 Charger

Dell has launched its first 90W GaN PD charger in China. Locally, it is second to Lenovo that already has a similar charger but with 65W in the market. Listed at 739 yuan($110.44), the charger is already available for purchase on Dell’s Chinese website.

Dell’s USB-C GaN Power Adapter is the first of its kind(via ITHome) from the company. Despite packing so much, it doesn’t look that bulkier compared to other chargers which have less Power(eg. 30,45,65W). It comes along with a 1.8m long USB-C cable and a three-pin Power Chord that gets China’s 3C, and a few other certifications.

Dell 90W GaN Charger Specifications

The output C cable supports 90W PD(Power Delivery) charging. Besides, the charger brick has a USB-C PD 3.0 standard and a USB-A(10W) simultaneous output on one end, and a plum plug on the other. It dons a matte finish made of PC flame-resistant material and has a semi-circular arc design. Measuring 21.89mm thick, the charging brick weighs around 375g. The power output is as follows:

USB-C port : 90W(20V, 4.5A), 45W(15V, 3A), 18W(9V, 3A), 15W(5V, 3A)
USB-A port: 10W(5V, 2A).

Dell 90W GaN Charger Features

The Dell 90W GaN Charger reportedly has an APFC(Active Power Factor Correction) boost circuit inside along with other voltage control techniques. It is also protected by copper heat sinks inside to avoid overheating. The highlight is the Nanomicro Semiconductor NV6117 GaN power chip that is used for APFC boost and switching techniques. This semiconductor GaN IC can withstand 650V and has 120mΩ resistance.
