GIGABYTE AORUS 17 & AORUS 15 2024 laptops unveiled with Intel Core Ultra 7 CPUs

Intel recently unveiled its Core Ultra mobile processor lineup, also known as Intel Meteor Lake. OEMs have started announcing laptops featuring these new chips with GIGABYTE being the latest of the bunch.

GIGABYTE has debuted the refreshed AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 laptops for 2023, featuring NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs and the new Intel Core Ultra 7 processors.

The AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 laptops are great for gaming and creative tasks as they come with expandable DDR5 memory. They use Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, known as “Meteor Lake,” which have the Intel AI Boost Engine to make the battery last longer. The AORUS 17 has NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs for powerful graphics, and it uses NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology to switch between graphics processors for better performance and battery life.

These laptops have WINDFORCE Infinity cooling technology to manage temperature effectively. The design includes thin thermal fins that increase the cooling area while keeping the laptop compact.

The display is high-quality with a QHD resolution and a fast 240Hz refresh rate, perfect for gamers. The TÜV Rheinland certification ensures less eye discomfort, and Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos enhance the visual and auditory experience.

GIGABYTE has a new AI Nexus app that improves the computing experience. It uses Microsoft Azure AI to adjust CPU/GPU and fan settings based on detected game profiles with a feature called AI Boost. The AI Generator uses edge AI computing power for Stable Diffusion, offering generative AI experiences. There’s also an upcoming feature called AI Power Gear that is expected to optimize power consumption, making the battery last longer and increasing the overall lifespan of the device.

Last month, Gigabyte unveiled the AORUS 15 and AORUS 17 gaming laptops as the latest addition to its premium lineup. The launches came a month after the company debuted the top-end AORUS 17X and 15X models. Now, the non-X variants are finally hitting store shelves. So let’s take a look at their specs, features, and pricing.

Gigabyte AORUS 15 & 17 specs

The AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 models boast powerful components, including the Intel 13th-gen Core i7-13700H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU with access to a maximum 140W TGP through Dynamic Boost technology.

The laptops also feature an upgraded WINDFORCE Infinity cooling system that can handle up to 160W TDP and offer a 240Hz refresh rate at 1440p resolution, with the 15-inch model additionally offering a 360Hz display option. The 15-inch model is also offered with a QHD panel that has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage.

The design features an aluminum alloy cover and RGB Light Bar for a sleek gaming appearance, while the WINDFORCE Infinity cooling system allows for more I/O ports on the back, including a Thunderbolt 4 source of 100W, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a mini DisplayPort 1.4. Additionally, both laptops can be equipped with up to 65GB RAM, providing ample power for demanding gaming and creative tasks such as video editing.

Pricing

Amazon now offers four new Gigabyte AORUS gaming laptops featuring the powerful Core i7-13700H processor and RTX 4070 graphics card, but with a slightly lower 165Hz display, priced at US$1,749. Alternatively, the AORUS 17 with a 100% sRGB 240Hz display, which is identical in terms of specs, starts at US$1,849.

At CES 2023, Gigabyte unveiled the AORUS 17X and 15X premium gaming laptops with the latest and greatest specifications. These monster laptops boast QHD 240Hz screens with up to a 13th-generation Intel Core i9 HX and 16GB GDDR5 RTX4090 GPU under the hood.

Now, the brand has introduced the AORUS 15 and 17 as the latest addition to the premium lineup. Both AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 are equipped with up to Intel 13th-gen Core i7-13700H processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPUs with full access to max 140W TGP with Dynamic Boost technology.

They feature the improved WINDFORCE Infinity cooling system that can handle up to 160W TDP, and offer 240Hz refresh rates at 1440p resolution. There is also a 360Hz display option, however, it is only available for the 15-inch model.

The design includes a mysterious spatial design and RGB Light Bar for a sophisticated gaming aesthetic. As mentioned above, the laptops feature an improved WINDFORCE Infinity cooling system that allows the laptops to have more I/O ports on the back. These ports include a single Thunderbolt 4 source of 100W, one HDMI 2.1 port, and one mini DisplayPort 1.4.

Both of these laptops are offered with up to 65GB RAM, which is more than enough to handle any modern gaming title and also creative tasks like video editing. The pricing of these gaming machines has not been announced yet, however, we expect them to start around $3,699.
