Gionee recently unleashed a poster which revealed it would be holding a press conference on November 26 where it intends to release an avalanche of smartphone models. The conference which would hold in Shenzhen, China will see the launch of eight smartphones including some models with the full-view display screen. Among the models expected to be launched is the full-screen Gionee F205 and Gionee F6 smartphones along with the Gionee M7 Plus, S11, S11S and Steel 3.

A new poster has now emerged, released on Gionee’s official Weibo page, showing that the Chinese company will also offer more colour variants for the full-screen Gionee M7 on November 26. The M7 which was first announced in September is already available in colours like the traditional black, Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, and Champagne Gold. The poster shows that colours like Maple Leaf Red and Amber Gold will be joining the pack.

Just in case you don’t remember, Gionee M7 is the first full-screen model in the company’s arsenal. The success of the model may have spurred the feast of full-screen smartphones we are about seeing from the company on November 26. The device sports a 6.01-inch FullView display with FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The M7 features a 16MP + 8MP dual camera setup at the rear while at the front, there is an 8MP selfie sensor. The device also packs a massive 4000mAh battery under its slim body.

Several smartphone manufacturers have launched full screen design smartphones this year. Gionee too has launched the Gionee M7 and M7 Power (aka Steel 2 Plus in other markets) smartphones with full screen design in September. Recent reports have revealed that the company is working on a couple of smartphones like F6L and F205. Rumors are rife that these phones may arrive with full screen design as the company has confirmed to debut 8 bezel-less smartphones on Nov. 26.

The launch invitation for Gionee’s Nov. 26 has been shared on Weibo. It reveals that the unveil event is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen, China. The company has also confirmed that the event will be livestreamed on Shenzhen Satellite TV in the country. The Weibo post also confirms that the company would be unveiling 8 full screen design phones at the launch event.

Well-known leakster Evan Blass has recently revealed that the Gionee M7 Plus is the flagship phone from the company. Blass did not reveal any details on the specifications of the phone, but has shared the following images to reveal its design.

The Gionee F6L had appeared on TENAA in the previous week. It had revealed that the phone would be featuring a 5.7-inch HD+ display that will support an aspect ratio of 18:9. It may be driven by Snapdragon 430/435 chipset and may come in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options.

The Gionee F205 was recently spotted on GFXBench with 5-inch HD+ display that produces an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be fueled by MediaTek MT6739 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. The Gionee S11 and S11 Plus that have respectively appeared on GFXBench and TENAA are also coming with 18:9 display. These smartphones are going to be respectively powered by MediaTek MT6763 and Helio P25 chipsets.

The  Gionee M2018 is also speculated to deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9. By launching 8 smartphones with full screen design, Gionee will have the most number of 18:9 aspect ratio supporting phones. We expect that the rumor mill will reveal more information on the upcoming 18:9 phones from Gionee in the coming weeks.

The Gionee M7 is  now official. The new phone brings a bunch of exciting features, key ones being the 18:9 FullView display and the new Helio P30 processor.

Gionee M7 Design

The Gionee M7, as revealed in an early leak features a brushed metal back with concentric circles that originate from the fingerprint scanner. Dual rear cameras are positioned horizontally at the top left corner and are slightly raised.

The front is where the action is. The bezels have been greatly reduced to allow for the massive 6.01-inch FullView display. The top bezel still holds the selfie camera, a sensor, and the earpiece; while the bottom bezel has the Gionee logo. Gionee finishes the design with sandblasted sides.

Gionee M7 Specs

The Gionee M7 has a 6.01 FHD+ AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1080 resolution and an 18:9 screen ratio. The screen accounts for 85% of the front of the phone thanks to the smaller bezels.

The Gionee M7 is the first smartphone to come with the Helio P30 processor announced last month. The 2.3GHz 16nm octa-core chip is paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Gionee says there are also two security chips in the phone – one for mobile payment and the other for data protection.

Just like the Gionee S10, the M7 features dual rear cameras. One is a 16MP  f/1.8 sensor and the other is an 8MP sensor for capturing depth of field information for portrait images. The rear camera can also take 3D images and has improved multi-frame noise reduction. The selfie camera is also an 8MP sensor.

The Gionee M7 doesn’t end there. For the big screen, Gionee has managed to squeeze in a 4000mAh battery into the 7.2mm body. Users will be able to get up to 43 hours of call usage, 21 hours of video playback, and 123 hours of music playback. The phone also supports 9V/2A fast charge so you can refill the battery in the shortest time possible.

The M7 has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back that supports mobile banking payments and bus payments. It has dual SIM support with full Netcom. There is a 3.5mm jack at the bottom and a USB Type-C port too.

Gionee M7 Price and Availability

The Gionee M7 will sell for ¥2799 (~$423). That price includes a one year screen insurance, a pair of Edifier W800BT Bluetooth headphones, a film protector and a flip case. It comes in champagne gold, black, star blue, gem blue and maple red. It will go on sale tomorrow at 10:00 AM on JD.com. Buyers will also be eligible to enter a draw where the winner gets a ¥4999 (~$755) travel voucher.

The Gionee M7 is another full-screen display set for release this month. The Chinese smartphone company released an official poster a few days ago announcing that the near bezel-less device will launch on September 25.

While we already know what the front panel will look like, a new image which appears to be an official render has leaked showing us the rear of the Gionee M7.

The M7 does look like a well made device. It has a brushed metal back and the blue paint job combined with the gray antenna lines give it a premium look. As previously reported, the Gionee M7 has dual rear cameras that are slightly raised. On the right side of the cameras sits a secondary microphone and LED flash.

Due to the phone being near bezel-less, the M7 has its fingerprint scanner on the back. Volume rocker and power button can be seen on the right side, so its safe to assume the SIM tray is on the left. If you look closely at the bottom, you should see the speaker grille, USB port and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Gionee M7 is expected to launch with a 6-inch display and 6GB of RAM. It will also come with the new Helio P30 chipset from MediaTek and run Android 7.1.1 out of the box.

The Helio P30 is marketed as a chipset that brings premium wide-angle and telephoto dual camera photography to smartphones. So we expect the Gionee M7 to take advantage of the new Visual Processing Unit of the chip to provide an impressive camera performance.

The 16nm octa-core chip has 4 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and the other 4 cores at 1.5GHz. Its GPU is the Mali-G71 MP2 clocked at 950MHz. It also comes with a 4G LTE WorldMode modem which means it should work with every network in the world, including CDMAs.

Gionee has officially confirmed via its Weibo page that its near bezel-less Gionee M7 will be launched on September 25 at 3PM (UTC+8). The company released a teaser poster to that effect which not only discloses the launch date but also that the device will first go official in China. Recall that Gionee had earlier released a poster which shows they would be launching an equally near bezel-less M7 and M7 Power in Thailand on September 28.

The Gionee M7 has featured in a couple of leaks so, it is pretty obvious it would pack a full-screen display with ultra-thin bezels at the sides and reduced bezels at the top and bottom. The display panel for the M7 leaked recently revealing in details how it would look like. This would be Gionee’s first device with such small bezels.

The Gionee M7 is expected to sport a 6.0-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080pixels giving it an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P30 chip backed by 6GB of RAM and there is 64Gb of storage onboard. Talking about the cameras, Gionee has put a 16MP rear camera as well as an 8MP front camera n the M7. Providing the interface will be Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Gionee has released four teaser posters announcing the launch of its upcoming smartphone the M7 Power. The teasers show the outline of a phone with a display similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 (and S8+). However, Gionee calls its own a FullView Display.

There was an unconfirmed report weeks ago that Gionee and a bunch of other Chinese manufacturers were going to release smartphones with an 18:9 display ratio. Last week, we saw a Gionee SW17W08 on GFXbench with a 6-inch display and a 1440 x 720 resolution. This is the same resolution as that of the Micromax Canvas Infinity which also has an 18:9 full vision display but smaller at 5.77-inches.

The similar display resolution was a sort of confirmation that Gionee would indeed announce a phone with an 18:9 display. However, the teaser shows that the Gionee M7 Power will be different from the Micromax Canvas Infinity as it is nearly bezel-less on the sides. The top and bottom bezels are more or less the same thickness as that of the Galaxy S8 which means the M7 Power will not have a home button/fingerprint scanner like in the Gionee S10.

Apart from the teasers released today by Gionee, Beijing-based bike-sharing startup, Ofo, also released a poster for a Gionee M7 yesterday. The phone in the teaser has the same outline as the phone in Gionee’s posters but also has two bicycle wheels. The guess is that the wheels hint at the phone having dual cameras.

If the Gionee M7 Power is indeed the phone that was seen on GFXBench, then it will launch with a 6-inch display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and a MT6757CD octa-core processor. One of the cameras will also be a 5MP sensor.

The Gionee M7 Power will be launched in Thailand on September 28.
