The stock for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-5/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 5</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-4a-5g/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 4a 5G</a> had been running low for the last couple of weeks, and now, the company has officially <a href="https://fi.google.com/about/phones/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">delisted</a> both models from its store.</p>
<p>According to a <a href="https://9to5google.com/2021/07/27/google-fi-pixel-5-4a-5g/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>9To5Google</em></a> report, the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 were initially listed as &#8220;out of stock&#8221; at the beginning of this month. But now, both smartphone models from the search engine giant have been officially delisted. In other words, the company has removed the description and specifications for both devices, with the Pixel 4a being the only 2020 model being available for purchase as of right now on the official store.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-364218 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White.jpeg?x44794" alt="Google Pixel 4a 5G Clearly White" width="1200" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White.jpeg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-1068x712.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Pixel4a-5g-White-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The brand&#8217;s official US Google Store also marks the Pixel 4a 5G as out of stock, similar to the unlocked and Verizon variant of the Pixel 5. Back in 2020, the Pixel 4 series had also sold out prior to the launch of its newer models. So, the company might be following a same pattern again this time around. The Pixel 6 is expected to launch sometime in October later this year. So stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates if any notable rumors or reports surfaces regarding this device.</p>

<p>The search engine giant has just launched the &#8220;Pixel for Business&#8217; website that basically states that &#8220;The Google phone” is &#8220;Built for business.&#8221; The company even added three reasons for this with the first being &#8220;Safe and secure, all by design.” In this, the company essentially highlights its custom built Titan M chip, which was first seen in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 3</a> back in 2018. For those unaware, the chip secures the bootloader that prevents OS rollbacks to protect the data within the device and is even tied to the biometric security system.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Google also added that one can &#8220;Manage devices simple and seamlessly,&#8221; with zero touch enrollment that does not require one to manually setup the device, while also offering management configuration APIs, and also arrives with Android Enterprise Recommended status. The company even offers the Work profile to separate personal information from business related data, while even aiding in managing Google Play that lets a company&#8217;s IT determine which apps can be allowed.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-354289 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01.jpg?x44794" alt="Google Pixel 4a Barely Blue 01" width="2560" height="1866" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-300x219.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-768x560.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-1024x746.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-324x235.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-696x507.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-1068x778.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-576x420.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Google-Pixel-4a-Barely-Blue-01-1920x1400.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>Lastly, the firm said that the devices can &#8220;Help when and where you need it.&#8221; Through this, the company advertises its consumer-centricness. It showcased its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-assistant/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Google Assistant</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/gmail/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Gmail</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-docs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Docs</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-duo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Duo</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-meet/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Meet</a> as being &#8220;integrated right in.&#8221; In the &#8220;Google Phones&#8221; tab on the new website, four handset models can be observed, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-4a/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 4a</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-4a-5g/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 4a 5G</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-5/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pixel 5</a> as well, with a brochure for each of these models.</p>

But now, it seems that a bug is scaring Pixel 5 users as a new issue is causing the system volume to behave erratically.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-346235 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render.jpg?x44794" alt="Google" width="1800" height="1287" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render.jpg 1800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-300x215.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-768x549.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-1024x732.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-696x498.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-1068x764.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Google-Pixel-5-Mint-Green-render-587x420.jpg 587w" sizes="(max-width: 1800px) 100vw, 1800px" /></p>
<p>While the latest Google flagship Pixel has already seen a few issues in the past, which includes a battery indicator bug and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/20/google-pixel-5-gap-between-display-frame/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a screen gap</a> that has since been declared as a non issue, the recent problem has yet to be acknowledged by the search engine giant. Users have taken to the official Google Pixel support forums to complain about issues with the Pixel 5&#8217;s volume controls, as reported by <a href="https://www.androidcentral.com/google-pixel-5-systems-sounds-are-too-loud" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AndroidCentral</em></a>.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/17/nvidia-rtx-3060-ti-launch-soon-images-surface-online/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti may launch soon as images of the GPU surface online</a></strong></h6>
<p>The problem seems to surface in one of either two ways. Firstly, the volume controls either have the audio levels drop randomly while watching a video, which can be quite annoying. However, the other way the bug appears is even more of an issue, as some Pixel 5 units are randomly pushing the audio levels to an uncomfortably loud levels even if the user had originally set it to the lowest settings.</p>

<p>This issue seems to also affect other aspects like the dial tone, camera shutter button, and taking screenshots, and more. Furthermore, the volume slider doesn&#8217;t seem to work either in this situation. In other words, no matter how the volume slider is adjusted, the system sounds will remain elevated unless the system is set to vibrate or silent. At the moment, a fix has yet to be released by Google, but a representative has acknowledged the issue, albeit in a rather vague and unhelpful manner. We&#8217;ll provide more updates when additional information is available, so stay tuned.</p>

However, the feature hasn&#8217;t gained much traction and the phone&#8217;s sales are quite low.</p>
<p>So, as per the reports, because of the failure of this <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motion-sense">Motion Sense</a> feature, the company will be ditching this feature altogether in the next iteration, i.e. Google Pixel 5 series which should get launched this fall.</p>
<figure id="attachment_283070" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-283070" style="width: 855px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-283070 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured.png?x44794" alt="Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL featured" width="855" height="583" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured.png 855w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured-300x205.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured-768x524.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured-218x150.png 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured-696x475.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Pixel-4-and-Pixel-4-XL-featured-616x420.png 616w" sizes="(max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-283070" class="wp-caption-text">Google Pixel 4 XL</figcaption></figure>
<p>Motion Sense feature which makes use of the Project Soli radar chip, enables users to make use of gesture-based control system for hands-free experience. While many smartphone brands have offered gesture-based navigation features, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a>&#8216;s is the first one to be dependent on a Soli radar chip hardware.</p>
<p>One of the reasons for the low sales of Google Pixel 4 series, apart from the older design and not-so-important premium features, could be the lack of availability in some regions. Because of the presence of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/soli">soli radar chip</a> which uses certain frequency range, the company needs to obtain permission for frequency usage from the company where it plans to sell the devices. Thus, the smartphone series never made it to countries like India, Japan, China, among others.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/18/ex-meizu-exec-li-nan-chinese-companies-should-take-a-gamble-recalls-blue-charm-metal-without-qualcomm-google/">Ex-Meizu Executive Li Nan: Chinese companies should take a gamble, Recalls Blue Charm Metal without Qualcomm and Google</a></strong></h6>
<p>It makes total sense for the company to ditch this Motion Sense feature which is restricting itself from selling the smartphones to two of the world&#8217;s leading markets. Also, why should Google include a premium feature that no one really wants to use?</p>
<p>As for the upcoming Google Pixel 5 series, the company is expected to ditch the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and could instead adopt the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/05/chip-battle-huaweis-kirin-820-5g-vs-qualcomms-snapdragon-765g/">Snapdragon 765G</a> chipset which is aimed at premium mid-range devices. The reason behind this could be to keep the phone&#8217;s pricing on the lower side as the SD865 is quite expensive compared to its predecessors in the same lineup.</p>
<p>Getting rid of the Motion Sensor will also enable Google to offer a full-screen smartphone experience. The Pixel 5 series is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/14/first-google-pixel-5-render-is-here-it-has-an-ugly-camera-bump/">expected to come with a triple-camera setup</a> on the back and this time, the company is said to include a wide-angle sensor as well. We expect more rumours, leaks, and details regarding Pixel 5 lineup to surface in the coming weeks.</p>
