<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Last week, Google </span><a href="https://blog.chromium.org/2021/03/advanced-memory-management-and-more.html"><span style="font-weight: 400">published</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> a blog detailing the performance improvements in Chrome 89 for Android. In the same post, the search giant mentioned the eligible devices for the latest 64-bit variant of the browser.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">As reported by </span><a href="https://www.androidpolice.com/2021/03/15/these-android-devices-are-eligible-for-64-bit-chrome/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">Android Police</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, Google Chrome for Android 64-bit requires a minimum of 8GB RAM and Android 10. In other words, the better version of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Google-Chrome/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Chrome</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is only available for flagship and premium mid-range smartphones. Hence, millions of mid-range and budget Android users are left out.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Even </span><span style="font-weight: 400">Google</span><span style="font-weight: 400">’s own Pixel smartphones don’t come with 8GB RAM except for the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-5/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Pixel 5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Previously, this amount of RAM was only found in gaming smartphones and select top-end premium flagship smartphones. But now, there are many mid-premium handsets with 8GB RAM. Most of these phones come from Chinese OEMs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Anyway, since Android smartphones let users install applications from external sources, interested users can try installing Chrome 64-bit APK from reliable websites like </span><a href="https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/chrome/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">APKMirror</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">However, it is worth noting that if your device doesn’t match the eligibility criteria, the 64-bit variant of Chrome will be replaced by the 32-bit variant whenever a new Chrome update arrives on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Google/">Google</a> Play Store. Hence, those users will have to manually install the 64-bit variant APK with each new update.</span></p>

Finally, Google is bringing that to the mobile devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-294735" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome.jpg?x23692" alt="" width="1500" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome.jpg 1500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/google-chrome-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></p>
<p>As spotted by <a href="https://9to5google.com/2021/01/28/google-chrome-grid-tab-groups/">9to5Google</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-chrome">Google Chrome</a> on Android now shows the tabs in a Grid View. Before, if you had noticed, the tabs inside the Chrome browser have shown in vertically arranged cards format. This not only blocks the preview of the content of the cards behind but appears but makes scrolling across tabs tougher if you have more of it opened.</p>
<h4><strong>Google Chrome Tab Groups- How to use it</strong></h4>
<p>To see the view, just press the number icon next to the address bar to get to the &#8216;Grid View&#8217;. Here, you can see the tabs appearing as small boxes. If you want to group two or more tabs, just drag them to one tab.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also worth noting that this Tab Grouping is available on Chrome for <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ios">iOS</a> for a while now. Anyway, you can take a look at the images below to get an idea of how to group the tabs on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> inside the browser:</p>

                <style type="text/css">

<p>As usual, the &#8216;New Tab&#8217; icon appears on the top left in a &#8216;+&#8217; sign. Further, the incognito Tabs arrangement is revamped with this update. Before, these tabs will appear separately on the right side. Now, there is a toggle switch at the top to access them which also appears in Grid view.</p>
<p>To close a tab or a group of tabs, you can use the &#8216;x&#8217; symbol on the right or just swipe left/right as always. Do note that you will be closing the group tabs as a whole on doing this so be sure to take out the tabs inside the group if you need anything beforehand.</p>
<h4><strong>How to disable Tab Groups on Chrome</strong></h4>
<p>Also, if for some reason you don&#8217;t like this new Grid View, you can switch back to the old layout. To do this, open a tab, type &#8216;<em>Chrome://flags&#8217; </em>on the address bar, and press enter.</p>
<p>Here, type &#8216;Grid&#8217; on the search bar, and you will see a &#8216;Tab Grid Layout&#8217; option that is enabled by &#8216;default&#8217;. Now click on it &amp; tap &#8216;disable&#8217;. Relaunch Chrome twice to see the change effect.</p>
