<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google </a>has revealed May 14th as the date for this year&#8217;s I/O developer conference. In a weird twist, Google required participants to solve a logic puzzle before announcing the date. Here&#8217;s what it looks like:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="511" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-1024x511.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-611346" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-1024x511.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-300x150.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-768x383.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-1536x766.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-696x347.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-1068x533.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94-842x420.png 842w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-94.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Users have to lay down a path to make the marble reach the destination. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, you have to do it 15 times in order to see the date of the event for yourself. While this was pretty playful on Google&#8217;s part, 15 levels seems a bit too much. You can simply click the &#8220;Save the Date&#8221; Button on the top right of the UI to see the date. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="495" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-1024x495.png?x10805" alt="Google I/O 2024" class="wp-image-611348" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-1024x495.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-300x145.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-768x371.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-696x336.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-1068x516.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96-869x420.png 869w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/image-96.png 1479w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Originally conceived in 2008 as a platform for Google to connect with and encourage its developer community, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google-io">Google I/O</a> has transformed into a highly anticipated annual event. It&#8217;s become a stage for Google to unveil its latest innovations and advancements across various technological sectors. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/pixel">Pixel </a>phone enthusiasts eagerly await announcements about new features and upcoming models. Developers working on the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android </a>operating system flock to I/O for technical deep dives and insights into the future of the platform. The conference also serves as a window into Google&#8217;s progress with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/artificial-intelligence">artificial intelligence</a>, which the company does better than most others on the planet. However, Apple just <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/15/apple-darwinai-artificial-intelligence/">recently acquired DarwinAI</a>. Maybe the competition could be more serious in the not-so-distant future.</p>

Now, the search engine giant confirmed its upcoming Pixel Tablet at the Google I/O 2022.</p>
<p>During the hardware presentation at Google I/O, the company teased a new product named Google Pixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tablet">Tablet</a>, which is a premium Android-powered device and is set to get launched sometime next year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-459935 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Google Pixel Tablet" width="1633" height="1041" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1.jpg 1633w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-1024x653.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-696x444.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-1068x681.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-Tablet-1-659x420.jpg 659w" sizes="(max-width: 1633px) 100vw, 1633px" /></p>
<p>Rick Osterloh, Senior Vice President of Devices and Services at Google, said that the upcoming Pixel Tablet is a premium device that will come powered by the company&#8217;s custom <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-tensor">Tensor chips</a>, similar to the latest Pixel series smartphones.</p>
<p>It appears that the company is making this new device as a consumer-focused gadget, especially for entertainment and consumption, rather than focusing on work. Apart from that, nothing is known about the upcoming tablet, not even details about the screen size, memory configuration,<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera"> camera sensor</a>, or software features.</p>
<p>But the renders have revealed what we should expect in terms of design. Based on the renders of the upcoming Pixel Tablet showcased by the company, it looks like the display is taken off from Google&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-nest-hub">Nest Hub</a>.</p>
<p>In the software department, the Pixel Tablet will be running the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> operating system out-of-the-box but a special version built for larger screens. The company has also promised to rebuild more than 20 of its own apps for large-screen devices, and some major third-party apps like Facebook, TikTok, Zoom and others will also be optimized.</p>
<p>Given that the Pixel Tablet is still far away from getting launched officially, it&#8217;s too early to get details about the product. But we expect to see leaks related to the tablet surface online in the coming months.</p>

<p>It <a href="https://twitter.com/Google/status/1524459690582847490">revealed</a> that the Google Pixel 7 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-pixel-7-pro">Pixel 7 Pro</a> smartphones would be officially getting launched later this fall. Apart from that, the search engine giant has also shared some of the key details and features of the devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-459930 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1.jpeg?x10805" alt="Google Pixel 7 Series Flagship Smartphones" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1.jpeg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-1-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Google confirmed that the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/flagship-smartphone">flagship smartphones</a> would come powered by the company&#8217;s own next-generation Tensor chipset. The set of sensors remains the same in the camera department as its precessors, and so does the horizontal camera bar on the back.</p>
<p>But the camera bar on the phone&#8217;s back panel has been updated and is now made of aluminum and runs across the side rails. In the software department, the devices will come running the latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-13">Android 13</a> operating system out-of-the-box.</p>
<p>It also appears that the company has ditched the two-tone color design on the back panel for the upcoming Pixel 7 series smartphones. Apart from this information, the company has not revealed much about the devices.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-459931 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro" width="2000" height="1125" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2.jpg 2000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-Pixel-7-Series-2-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px" /></p>
<p>Based on the rumors and leaks so far, the Google Pixel 7 Pro smartphone could feature a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch curved <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED display</a> with an LTPO panel and have a QHD+ screen resolution (1440p) with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.</p>
<p>Despite the current-generation models facing issues, it is also expected to continue offering an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to be powered by the second-generation <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-tensor">Google Tensor chipset</a> and offer up to 512GB of internal storage.</p>
<p>Some reports have revealed that the Google Pixel 7 series is expected to come in Stormy Black, Sorta SeaFoam, and Cloudy White shades. While the smartphones are expected to launch after autumn this year, the technology giant has not yet shared more information, including pricing and availability.</p>

While we are still waiting for the official announcement of the latest android version at Google I/O 2022, Google Pixel 6 Pro with Android 13 has appeared on Geekbench. It’s not surprising because Pixel devices are the first to get the taste of the latest android versions.</p>
<p>The Android 13 beta version has already been rolled out for the Pixel smartphones. Now the Geekbench listing suggests that the <a href="http://Gizmochina.com/tag/pixel-6-pro/">Pixel 6 Pro</a> will in fact be one of the first smartphones to get the latest Android Operating system.</p>
<p>As seen in the Geekbench listing, the phone has managed to score 1018 in the single-core round and 2627 in the multi-core round. The listing does not reveal any new details, the specifications are the same as the Android 12 model.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-459694 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-pixel-6-pro-geekbench-android-13.jpg?x10805" alt="Google pixel 6 pro geekbench android 13" width="641" height="816" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-pixel-6-pro-geekbench-android-13.jpg 641w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-pixel-6-pro-geekbench-android-13-236x300.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Google-pixel-6-pro-geekbench-android-13-330x420.jpg 330w" sizes="(max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px" /></p>

Now, the technology giant is gearing up to launch the Pixel 6a smartphones in the market.</p>
<p>While the company has not yet confirmed the launch date for the upcoming Pixel A-series smartphone, new reports indicate that the Google <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-pixel-6a">Pixel 6a</a> could be officially announced sometime in the month of May this year.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_426322" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-426322" style="width: 1024px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-426322" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render.jpg?x10805" alt="Google Pixel 6a CAD renders by 91mobiles/Steve Hemmerstoffer" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Google-Pixel-6a-_CAD-render-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-426322" class="wp-caption-text">Google Pixel 6a CAD renders by 91mobiles/Steve Hemmerstoffer</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>The phone has also been <a href="https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&amp;RequestTimeout=500&amp;calledFromFrame=Y&amp;application_id=bV3YrITVpmfHdmwsfJHpVQ%3D%3D&amp;fcc_id=A4RGX7AS">spotted on the FCC website</a> and the documents from the listing reveal some features that will be available on the Pixel 6a, which has been listed with multiple models. From the listing, it appears that at least one model of the Pixel 6a will come with support for mmWave <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> which is also known as high-band 5G.</p>
<p>It is being speculated that the device will be released at the company&#8217;s annual developer conference named Google I/O, which is scheduled to start on 11th May. Last year, the Pixel 5a passed through FCC in July, just a month before it got launched. If we have to go by that timing, then the Pixel 6a, which passed thorugh FCC this month, should get launched next month, i.e. May 2022.</p>
<p>Unlike the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/google-pixel-5a/">Pixel 5a smartphone</a>, which was available only in the United States and Japan, the upcoming Google Pixel 6a is expected to get launched in multiple countries.</p>
<p>If the previous reports are to be believed, then the Pixel 6a will have a 6.2-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED display</a> and will come with an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to keep the same camera configuration as its predecessor but will come powered by Google&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google-tensor">Tensor mobile processor</a> along with the AI-powered features.</p>

<p>Google I/O, the technology giant&#8217;s annual developers conference, has been canceled this year because of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. <p>The company will be hosting a launch event on 3rd June for the Android 11 Beta which will be live-streamed. The event&#8217;s live stream will start at 15:00 PM UTC (08:30 PM IST) and will last for about an hour.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-319144 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo.jpg?x10805" alt="Android 11 Developer Preview Logo" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Android-11-Developer-Preview-Logo-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>For those who are unaware, Google was supposed to release the Android 11 Beta version this month but it pushed the update to 1st June and instead <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/07/google-releases-android-11-developer-preview-4/">released the Android 11 Developer Preview 4</a> (DP4) version.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/24/google-io-2020-dates/">search engine giant had announced</a> the I/O 2020 conference in January this year but the process for the ticket application and ticket draw just last month. It was to be held at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California which is situated right next to the Googleplex. This would have marked the fifth year for the company to host its annual developer conference at the Shoreline Amphitheater.</p>
<p>As per the data from Johns Hopkins University, coronavirus has been spread to more than 50 countries around the globe, with roughly 91,300 confirmed cases and at least 3,110 deaths so far.</p>

This year was no exception, with the Google I/O 2017 kicking off with some interesting product announcements and updates. Many of the new tech revealed at the event affect us in our day to day life which means it&#8217;s worth checking out what&#8217;s new from the company. The company seems to have heavily worked on visual recognition and features in 2017 and we can clearly see the advancement in this department in the tech mentioned below.</p>
<p>So, here are some of the key Google I/O 2017 Highlights:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>1. Smarter Machine Vision</strong></h3>
<p>Google&#8217;s Computer Vision AI has become smarter and the camera app itself could get some really cool features such as removing obstacles from the pictures captured on the screen. Using the additional information, the AI can do a lot of things, like automatically make a dull and noisy low-light image clearer. The teaser shown at the event revealed the AI removing the entire fence from the frame to keep the girl playing baseball intact in the image.</p>
<p>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-before.png?x10805'><img width="696" height="392" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-before-1024x576.png?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="google vision ai baseball girl with fence before" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-before.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-before-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-before-768x432.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-after.png?x10805'><img width="696" height="392" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-after-1024x576.png?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="google vision ai baseball girl with fence after" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-after.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-after-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-vision-ai-baseball-girl-with-fence-after-768x432.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a>
</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>2. Google Lens</strong></h3>
<p>Google Lens seems to be the next big thing in machine-based visual recognition. Google&#8217;s visual recognition tech has improved to such a great level that you can get a ton of features by just using the phone&#8217;s camera. All you have to do is just point at an object and the phone&#8217;s powerful AI will show you relevant content right inside the camera interface. For example, if you point at a restaurant, the Google Lens app will display its ratings right on the camera screen.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Google-Lens-feature.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131962" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Google-Lens-feature.png?x10805" alt="Google-Lens-featured" width="640" height="301" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Google-Lens-feature.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Google-Lens-feature-300x141.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>If you remember, this app kind of reminds me of the HERE City Lens app that we had on the earlier Nokia Lumia smartphones. It sure was cool back then and with the new tech, the Google Lens app will take things to a whole new level.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131963" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-2.jpg?x10805" alt="google lens app feature 2" width="782" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-2.jpg 782w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-2-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 782px) 100vw, 782px" /></a></p>
<p>The Lens app can do a lot more, like connecting to the Wi-Fi network just by scanning the preset Wi-Fi settings on the router, or identifying a flower just by pointing the camera at it.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131964" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature.png?x10805" alt="google lens app feature" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-300x225.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-768x576.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-lens-app-feature-160x120.png 160w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Well, get ready to see a lot of people pointing their smartphones at random objects on the road soon.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>3. Google Assitant For iPhones</strong></h3>
<p>Move over Siri, Google Assistant is here to make you insecure. In just a year after launching the company&#8217;s personal assistant for Android phones, the Google Assistant is available to the iPhones via an app on the store. It brings familiar features as the Android version, but it&#8217;s not directly baked into the OS, which gives Siri a natural advantage.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-assistant-iphone.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131959" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-assistant-iphone.jpg?x10805" alt="google-assistant-iphone" width="1024" height="522" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-assistant-iphone.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-assistant-iphone-300x153.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/google-assistant-iphone-768x392.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Note that Google Assistant for iPhones isn&#8217;t a big deal as the assistant is now expanding to a lot more smart home products. Just watch out for the logo (yellow red green and blue dots) on the product to see if it has Google Assistant inside.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>4. Android O Enters Beta</strong></h3>
<p>Yes, after announcing the developer preview version back in April, the Android O Beta build is now available to beta testers. Unfortunately, you can become a beta tester only if you own a recent Nexus or Pixel device.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-o.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131961" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-o.jpg?x10805" alt="android o" width="800" height="354" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-o.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-o-300x133.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-o-768x340.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Battery life has always been the focus on new Android versions and the same applies to Android O. The new version aims to preserve device battery by limiting resource consumption by each app in the background. There are a lot of smart stuff being tailored in order for the background apps to reduce as much power consumption as possible.</p>
<p>Apart from improving the OS speed, what&#8217;s significantly improved is the boot time. For example, the Google Pixel with Android O would take less than half as much time as an Android Nougat running unit. Also, there are new things like picture-in-picture, notification dots etc to improve the user experience.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>5. Android Go aka Android Lite</strong></h3>
<p>For a lot of current Android users, Android Go may not matter much, but for the billions of users that are still to jump onto Google&#8217;s mobile platform, especially from the developing markets where mobile phone specs are entry level to keep the price low, Android Go is a game changer.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-go-ss.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131960" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-go-ss.png?x10805" alt="android go ss" width="761" height="453" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-go-ss.png 761w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/android-go-ss-300x179.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px" /></a></p>
<p>It&#8217;s a slimmed down version of Android specifically targeted at super low-end smartphones. While I understand that the specifications of entry-level smartphones, even the ones that cost less than $100 have improved significantly, Android Go would probably benefit phones that are even cheaper! We are talking phones with less than 1GB of RAM and a super entry level chip. For them, Android Go would make sense since it uses less data, supports multiple languages and makes Android bearable for low-end hardware. Get ready for a set of Android Go supported Google apps to be highlighted on the play store. Each app is said to be under 10Mb.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Overall, the Google I/O had some really interesting tech announcements yesterday. What do you think?</p>

The news about the existence of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was first proposed by Android Police. They say that Google update with build number JWR23B is a continuation of the use of the name Jelly Bean, in which the two initial letters on behalf of the update show updates given name.</p>
<p>This update is said to have been spotted in server log and re-tracked after apparently coming from Google employees. Additionally the update also appeared in a commentary on the Chromium bug tracker by one developer.</p>
<p>Of course this news has not received confirmation directly from the Google. And, they will officially announce what Android version will be launched at the Google I/O that will be held this year. It could be Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie or Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. So what do you think?</p>
