Google launched the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro smartphones in India in October last year. Both were available in a sole RAM and storage configuration priced at Rs 59,999 and Rs 84,999 respectively. If you’re a fan of the search giant’s flagship Pixel offerings, now might be the best time to purchase the latest-generation phones in the country. 

Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro Discounted Prices

E-commerce platform Flipkart is conducting Big Saving Days Sale starting May 4th. As a part of the curtain raiser deals till May 3rd, the Google Pixel 7 duo are up at discounted prices. Both the standard and pro variants are expected to be available at a cheaper price during the sale. This is also the first time the Google Pixel 7 series are getting a discounted price since launch. 

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is available at its lowest price to date. It is listed with a price tag of Rs 69,999 which is a massive Rs 15,000 price drop from its launch price of Rs 84,999. SBI Bank credit cardholders can avail up to Rs 1,250 instant discount on the purchase whereas there is Rs 1,000 off for Axis Bank, American Express, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank debit and credit card transactions. Flipkart is also throwing in an additional exchange discount of Rs 2,000 above the base value of old smartphone in exchange offer. 

On the other hand, the Pixel 7 has received a discount of Rs 10,000 making it available for Rs 49,999 instead of Rs 59,999. There is Rs 3,000 special discount when an exchange offer is availed while purchasing the device. The Pixel 7 also gets the same bank offers as the Pixel 7 Pro. 

The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro have the same design with IP68-certification, a Tensor G2 SoC, 30W wired charging and wireless charging support. The regular variant has a 6.3-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate whereas the Pro model features a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a 50MP OIS-enabled main camera with 12MP ultra-wide angle lens on both phones. The Pixel 7 Pro also sports an additional 48MP telephoto unit.

Some reports on Reddit suggest that a specific YouTube video is causing some Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users’ devices to reboot unexpectedly. The video in question is a 4K HDR movie clip, and the issue seems to be limited to the Pixel 7 series, though some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a users have also reported experiencing the problem. You can watch the YouTube video that caused the reboot problem below.

Users who have attempted to open the video using the YouTube app have reported spontaneous reboots. Some Pixel 7/7 Pro users have also lost cellular connectivity after their device has rebooted. However, restarting the phone appears to resolve this issue.

While some Reddit users have compared this to the infamous wallpaper crash that affected Samsung and Google phones in 2020, others think that there may be an issue with HDR processing on the Pixel 7 series. There are reports that some people are already using the video as a prank by sending it to Pixel 7 users. Google has not yet issued an official response to the problem.

It is worth noting that this issue appears to be limited to a particular YouTube video, and not all Pixel 7 devices are affected. Until Google issues an official statement, it is unclear whether the problem lies with the device itself or the YouTube app.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro was one of the best smartphone to launch in 2022, with many buyers and reviewers shelling out high praises for this device. But it seems that Samsung also had a role to play in their success since around half of the phone’s components were made by the rival company.

A new report talked about how much it costs to manufacture one single unit of the Search Engine giant’s top end flagship model. For a simple answer, Google spends around 413 US Dollars for a single unit. This figure was calculated based on the pricing of components and other costs. However, this report also uncovered a very interesting detail. The 128GB variant of the Pixel 7 Pro has around half of its components being made by the South Korean tech giant, Samsung.

The company was the one who manufactured its tall 6.7 inch AMOLED display, which has a 2K resolution. This panel alone accounts for 20 percent of the Pixel 7 Pro’s total cost. But the screen isn’t the only major component sourced from Samsung. Google’s proprietary chipset on the Pixel 7 Pro, the Tensor G2 SoC, was developed in cooperation with Samsung, which adds another 7 percent in terms of cost.

Google’s new flagship has won the hearts of many for camera performance, and lo and behold, Samsung is also one of the suppliers for its rear cameras. The South Korean brand’s ISOCELL GN1 sensor can be found on both the Pixel 6 Pro and the Pixel 7 Pro. This isn’t the only sensor from Samsung, since its 5x telephoto lens and selfie camera is also made by the company.

Google Pixel 7 series users are reporting poor video call quality when using apps such as Google Meet, Telegram, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The specific issue being described as producing a very blurry and smeared image using both the front and rear cameras. The issue was initially thought to be caused by video quality limitations within Google Meet, but it has also been reported to affect other apps.

To corroborate the observation, a Redditor produced three screen captures from a Google Meet call, one from a Pixel 7, one from an iPad Pro 2018, and one from a Pixel 3XL, and the comparison showed that even the dated Pixel 3XL produced a much better picture quality than this year’s Pixel 7.

It is widely speculated that certain apps do optimize video for certain phone models, however, this doesn’t seem to be the same issue as it is more noticeable in Google Meet, an app created by Google, that if anything should be optimized to work better with Pixel phones. This issue has been reported since October, and it is hoped that Google will address it in a future software update. In the meantime, Google Pixel 7 series users may want to consider using alternative video call apps or devices to ensure better video call quality.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture. It is composed of a Cortex X3 performance core running at 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 cores running at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A710 cores running at 2.8 GHz, and three Cortex A510 cores running at 2 GHz. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. Unfortunately, the Google Pixel 7 Pro has an inferior chipset: we are talking about the Tensor G2, nothing more than a rebrand of the latest Exynos. The memory configuration is the same. Both phones ship with Android 13, but the Pixel will get more updates and for a longer time.

On the paper, the Xiaomi 13 Pro looks to have a superior camera department, with three 50 MP cameras co-engineered with Leica. Almost a month after its official launch, the Google Pixel 7 Pro has made it to popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything’s chopping block for a durability test. And spoiler alert: the device has some serious structural problems.

The Pixel 7 Pro is entirely constructed out of recycled aluminum, as demonstrated in the JerryRigEverything video. The phone looks classy and gorgeous because the side frame is made of metal and not plastic. However, the video does point out that the bump on the rear camera is a concern.

Google Pixel 7 Pro durability test

The display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, served as the starting point for the durability test of the Pixel 7 Pro. We find scratches at level 6, similar to the majority of phones, and deeper markings at level 7. This confirms the phone does indeed have scratch-resistant glass, which is often expected from a flagship product these days.

The second portion of the video demonstrates the Pixel 7 Pro’s metal frame, which also houses the power and volume rocker controls. The back camera bump is also constructed of metal but has been painted to give it a distinctive dual-color tone design. However, the core issue is that the bump quickly scratches even after a very brief contact with keys, coins, or any other pocket things. Particularly after paying a premium fee, this looks terrible.

The glass on the back panel is also prone to scratches, and they are very noticeable. The burn test is the next step. Under a flame from a regular lighter, the pixels of the OLED panel burn at the 20-second mark and don’t return to normal. The display is still operational, though.

The bend test comes next in the video. Even though the phone doesn’t bend and split in half, we can hear fractures near the camera bump, and the antenna line flexes somewhat, leaving a permanent bend on the Pixel 7 Pro. This means it’s best to use the phone with a case because the phone’s frame around the camera isn’t very sturdy.

Currently, the most advanced flagship by the smartphone market leader is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, if we exclude the foldable phones. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.8 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3088 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader. The Google Pixel 7 Pro has an AMOLED display as well with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, the LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. Both phones come with stereo speakers, but the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has an important advantage: the support of an S Pen for handwriting and drawing. Its display works like an active digitizer allowing handwriting and drawing with 4,096 pressure levels with the S Pen.

The Tensor G2 processor, which is equipped with a Titan M2 security chip, drives the Pixel 7 series of devices. These two devices each include 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM (in India). Android 13.0 is preinstalled on the Pixel 7 Series devices.

The Pixel 7 includes a dual-rear camera configuration with a 50MP primary camera (with OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 114° field of view. The Pixel 7 Pro comes with a 48MP telephoto lens with OIS and a 4.8x optical zoom. These cameras support Cinematic Blue, 10-bit HDR recording, and numerous other features. Soon after the Google Pixel 6 series launch, reports had flooded the internet regarding a number of bugs and issues that the smartphone lineup faced. But with the Pixel 7 series launch, it appeared that the company had a more stable release this year. However, it appears that the new phones aren’t completely immune to bugs.

Apparently, the Pixel 7 series have been facing issues with its support for the Pixel Stand dock. A Reddit user who owns the Pixel 7 Pro took to the online platform to share the issues with the Pixel Stand that his flagship smartphone suffered from. He stated that “When putting my phone on it, it begins the setup process, but when it gets to the part where I can pick my Home control devices, the app crashes and returns to the home screen. Every so often I then get a prompt to set up the stand, I go through the process of setting it up, only to be prompted again 10 minutes later or so. On top of this, the phone is not charging.”

Notably, he claimed that his Pixel 6 Pro faced no such issues with the second gen Pixel Stand, and even performing a factory reset did not help the bug plaguing the Pixel 7 Pro. This user is not alone as other Pixel 7 series owners have come forward to share their experience with the Pixel Stand online. Another user alleged that his Pixel 7 device turned black while on the dock, while another claimed that he couldn’t unlock his phone once he took it off the stand.

Apparently, this issue was more common with more than one user complaining about the under display fingerprint sensor becoming unavailable on their phones after being taken off the dock. As of right now, there is no fix to this issue but we can expect Google to release a software update to address the bug.

Specs & Software

These two handsets are not so different in terms of hardware and performance. The Google Pixel 7 Pro sports the new Google Tensor G2 chipset built with a 5 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture including two Cortex X2 CPUs running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz, two Cortex A78 CPUs running at 2.35 GHz, three Cortex A55 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, and a Mali G710 MC10 GPU. The chipset is paired with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The iPhone 14 Plus has a proprietary Apple A15 Bionic chipset built with the same production process and with the same octa-core architecture, but sporting two Avalance CPUs running at a max frequency of 3.23 GHz, four Blizzard CPUs running at 1.82 GHz, and an Apple 5-core GPU. This SoC is paired with 6 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. Given that the Pixel runs Android 13 and iPhone 14 Plus runs iOS 16, the latter has better software optimization, so having just 6 GB of RAM is not a disadvantage.

Camera

The Google Pixel 7 Pro beats the iPhone 14 Plus when it comes to the cameras. On the rear side, it has three sensors: a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 48 MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide camera. The iPhone 14 Plus has just two 12 MP sensors: the main camera and an ultrawide lens, and it lacks a telephoto camera. There is definitely no challenge.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro has a bigger 5000 mAh battery on board, but despite that, the iPhone 14 Plus is able to last more in a lot of scenarios thanks to the better optimization of the iOS operating system.

While last year Big G came up with its first flagship after a lot of time not releasing any, this year the new flagship is even more outstanding and it retains a very affordable price if compared to flagships from the other brands, even though it remains a top-tier phone. But with that price, is it really able to compete with the iPhone 14 Pro? Is it worth spending more for the Apple flagship or you can save a lot of money by purchasing the Pixel while still getting a very high quality? This is a comparison between the main specifications of the iPhone 14 Pro and the Google Pixel 7 Pro which will hopefully help you find out. Note that the opinions in this comparison are also valid for the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the exception of the dimensions, the display diagonal, and the battery capacity, which are bigger on the Pro Max variant.

Design

Which design should you prefer? It is mostly a matter of taste. I personally prefer the iPhone 14 Pro for several reasons. First of all, it is way more compact, thanks to the presence of a smaller display. Further, it is built with better materials including glass for the back protected by Ceramic Shield and stainless steel for the frame. It even offers better water resistance with the IP68 certification allowing you to put it underwater up to 6 meters deep. Further, it comes with the iconic Dynamic Island, not liked by everyone but is a very futuristic feature. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 7 Pro offers a very original design including a horizontal bar for the rear cameras made of recycled material. It is built with a glass back and an aluminum frame, and it is waterproof with the IP68 certification allowing you to put it underwater up to 1.5 meters deep for a max time of 30 minutes.

Display

Here is a very hard fight since both phones come with outstanding flagship-class displays. Here, I would primarily choose by basing on the display diagonal: the iPhone 14 Pro has a compact 6.1-inch panel, while the Google Pixel 7 Pro has a big 6.7-inch panel: if you want a new phone for productivity, then the latter is a better choice in terms of display. For the rest, they both offer amazing displays, even though the iPhone 14 Pro should be slightly better. The Pixel has an AMOLED panel with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, the LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, an in-display fingerprint reader, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The iPhone 14 Pro has a Super Retina XDR OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1179 x 2556 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, HDR10 certification, Dolby Vision support, as well as Ceramic Shield protection. Google unveiled the new Pixel 7 and 7 Pro yesterday at an event in New York. The new phones are powered by the Tensor G2 SoC and bring some exclusive features that set them apart from the rest of the Android pack. However, a new report claims the search giant will be bringing some of these features to the Pixel 6 series and older devices via the upcoming Feature Drop.

With Google’s quarterly Feature Drops, Pixel phones gain exciting new features and enhancements. According to PhoneArena, the company’s next Feature Drop will take place in December and will bring some of the exclusive features seen on the newly launched Pixel 7 smartphones. The majority of the new features will arrive only to Tensor-powered smartphones, meaning the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6a. However, the non-tensor phones will not be totally left out, they will also be receiving some interesting stuff.

As per the publication, the Pixel 6 series will get Clear Calling in the upcoming Feature Drop. For the uninitiated, the Clear Calling feature reduces background noises during phone calls. In addition, the Pixel 6 lineup will also get a new quick phrase, which will enable users to stop an incoming call by saying “silence.”

Furthermore, the Pixel 6 devices will get the Guided Frame accessibility feature, which was announced with the Pixel 7 lineup. This feature allows people with poor vision to take selfies using voice commands while positioning the phone.

Google’s Real Tone enhancements will also be available for last year’s models. With this feature, you are able to take photos with more accurate skin tones on your Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 devices. The new pair of smartphones come with some improvements in their camera setup and are powered by the second-gen Tensor G2 processor, an improvement over last year’s Tensor chip. Both smartphones will receive at least three OS updates and 5 years of security patches.

The Pixel 7 is the smaller model and less expensive. It is slightly bigger than the Pixel 6a and has a 6.3-inch display. It has a flat AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 7 has 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. It comes with a 4,355mAh battery with the Extreme Battery Saver Mode giving up to 72 hours of activity. Power efficiency is great with the Pixel 7 as its battery can last up to 31 hours on normal usage.

The flagship Pixel 7 Pro comes with a 6.71-inch AMOLED screen with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The Pixel 7 Pro sports a distinctive image and offers several security features. It is also expected that the Google Pixel 7 Pro will enjoy extended software support. Its camera setup consists of 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 48MP telephoto modules. The ultra-wide sensor comes with autofocus for macro.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro retains the same CPU as its predecessor but with marginal improvements in clock speed. The new Tensor G2 chipset uses Samsung’s 4nm process, which is a little improvement over the 5nm node. The GPU is a Mali-G710 MC10 that offers a 35% performance boost over the G78 in machine learning tasks. A new Tensor core and modem are also part of the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 7 series of smartphones in a few hours. The company will debut two devices today – the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. Ahead of the launch, the pricing of both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro base variants has already leaked for the US and European regions.

Hours ahead of the launch, tipster SnoopyTech has revealed the Pixel 7 Pro 256GB model’s European pricing. According to the tipster, the device will come with a price of €999. The report also mentions that the 128GB model of the Pixel 7 Pro will come for €899 and the Pixel 7 base model will retail for €649.

Additionally, SnoopyTech also reveals that the Pixel Watch will retail for €379 and the Pixel Watch LTE version will retail for €429.

Google Pixel 7 series specs

The Pixel 7 Pro will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The standard model, on the other hand, will have a 6.3-inch Full HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

On the back of the standard model will be a dual-camera system. The Pixel 7 series will include a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The 7 Pro will get a 48MP telephoto camera with up to 5x optical zoom. The Pro model will include features such as movie motion blur, true tone, and up to 30x zoom compatibility. The basic model will not support macro focus, and its high-resolution zoom will be limited to an 8x magnification. A 10.8MP front camera with 4K video recording will be available for selfies.

The phones will be powered by a Tensor G2 SoC. There will also be a Titan M2 security chip and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Both phones will have storage capacities of 128GB or 256GB. The Pixel 7 will have 8GB of RAM as standard, while the Pixel 7 Pro will have 12GB of RAM as standard.

According to leaks, the Pixel 7 will have a 4700mAh battery, while the 7 Pro will have a 5000mAh battery. Both phones will support 30W wired fast charging and wireless charging. Google is unlikely to include a charger in the box. Finally, both devices will be IP68 certified.

The Google Pixel 7 series is scheduled to be unveiled in a few hours at the “Made by Google” event (here’s how to watch it live). The event will also see the launch of two smartphones in the Pixel lineup, namely the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Both of these devices have already appeared on Geekbench, giving us an idea of their performance. Now, a new leak has surfaced that shows the Pixel 7 Pro device running the AnTuTu benchmark.

Google Pixel 7 Pro AnTuTu

The Pixel 7 Pro, powered by the new Tensor G2 chipset, managed to score 801116 points in the Antutu benchmark. This is quite a lackluster performance and doesn’t come anywhere near the performance of recent flagships with the latest chipsets like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the Dimensity 9000. The score is more on par with the Snapdragon 888/888+ chipsets.

Compared to the Pixel 6 Pro, the upcoming flagship scores around 85,000 points higher, which could be seen as a decent generational leap. We already expected the device to not break any records in benchmarks. As we have reported earlier, the main improvements coming to the new chipset will be in the form of improvements to ISP (image signal processing) and the performance of the SoC’s machine-learning and AI abilities. The GPU is also expected to have a significant jump in performance. However, independent testing would be required to get an idea of the real-world performance.

Google is all set to launch its next-generation Pixel 7 series flagship smartphones and the brand’s first smartwatch under the Pixel brand, dubbed as Pixel Watch.

The company has already confirmed that the launch event for these new products will be hosted on 6th October. Google’s Fall Launch Event will be live streamed by the company on its official YouTube channel.

The launch event is scheduled to take place on 6th October at 07:00 AM PT, which converts to 10:00 AM ET and 07:30 PM IST. The recorded version of the launch event will also be available for the users to watch.

At the event, Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones will get launched. Based on the leaks and reports, the Pixel 7 Pro will be powered by the yet unannounced Google Tensor G2 processor with improved GPU and NPU.

In the camera department, the phone will have a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto lens. On the front side, there’s an 11MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The device will be powered by a 5,000mAh capacity battery and have support for 30W fast charging. In the software department, the phone will run the latest Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box.

On the other hand, the Google Pixel Watch, which has a circular dial, will be running the Wear OS technology, which is a merger product of Google’s Wear OS and Samsung’s Tizen OS, which the company was using for wearables.

While the Mountain View-based company has already showcased the Pixel 7 series phones and the Pixel Watch in a recent teaser, Google hasn’t revealed everything. To know the detailed specifications and features, as well as the pricing and availability information, we will have to wait for a day more for the official launch event.

Google will launch the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones at the “Made by Google” event scheduled for tomorrow (October 6). Through various reports, almost all the specifications and features of these devices have already leaked.

Now, tipster Evan Blass has shared some new images of the Pixel 7 series smartphones that appear to be from official manuals. They claim to demonstrate where the buttons, speakers, and seemingly unchanged 50MP primary and 12MP ultra-wide rear cameras will remain on both phones.

Additionally, according to the schematics, Google will ship all models of the 7 series with physical card readers, which could be an indication that the OEM does not plan to follow Apple in promoting eSIM adoption just yet. However, the most interesting part of these manual pictures is the mention of “MICROSD TRAY”, which is quite a surprise in the premium segment in this day and age. This could most likely be an error, considering that Google has not offered microSD card support for any of its Pixel devices to date.

So far, leaked hardware specs of the Pixel 7 series have revealed some improvements in the battery department, along with a Tensor G2 chip, which is expected to give better GPU and AI performance. Other than that, the device is mostly expected to be the same as the Pixel 6 series, with more polished software and design. It remains to be seen if Google includes any new Pixel-exclusive features on the new devices.

Ahead of the October 7 Made by Google event, a tipster has leaked two ads for the upcoming Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. Tipster Snoopy Tech released a pair of 30 seconds ads via Twitter and the videos show some innovations in the two models.

As per the leaked videos, the Pixel 7 Pro comes with a new Macro Focus feature that allows for snap close-ups. The Super Res zoom in the Pixel 7 Pro is much improved from its predecessor, the Pixel 6 Pro. We now have 6x optical zoom and 30x hybrid zoom. The new Macro Focus feature is however lacking in the Pixel 7. Both models feature Cinematic Blur, similar to the iPhone’s Cinematic Mode. The Cinematic Blur functionality allows the camera to shift between two objects while keeping one sharply focused and the other image blurred in the background.

The Extreme Battery Mode of the new models allows for up to 72 hours of activity on a single charge. However, most of the apps are disabled although the user can choose the apps that can be running under this mode. You can choose the apps that you want to run under the mode by assessing the settings menu and navigating through the Extreme Battery Saver option.

Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 7 series smartphones along with other products at its Made By Google event on October 6th. The series will consist of two devices – Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Ahead of the launch, multiple leaks and rumors have revealed almost all of the major details about the upcoming smartphones. So, we bring you a roundup of everything you can expect from the Pixel 7 series.

Pixel 7 series design & display

The Pixel 7 series will not deviate from the design language of the Pixel 6 series, as seen in the official teasers and renders. However, the device has received some polish to the design, especially the camera visor and the camera setup. The visor this time around is made of polished metal, giving the phone a more premium look, and the camera’s placement has also been adjusted to look more pleasing.

On the front, the Pixel 7 Pro will feature a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the vanilla Pixel 7 will get a 6.3-inch flat Full HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Specs & features

Spec-wise, both devices will feature the Tensor G2 chip that will utilize the same combination of two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores. It will feature a new Mali-G710 GPU, which is expected to significantly improve gaming performance compared to the last generation. Other than that, the phone will have a new NPU, improved modems, and a Titan M2 security chip.

Both phones will offer 128GB or 256GB storage options. The Pixel 7 will have 8GB of RAM, whereas the Pro model will have 12GB of RAM as standard. The phones will support both wired and wireless fast charging and will have a battery life of more than 24 hours. The extreme battery saver feature on the devices is said to extend the battery life up to 72 hours. The Pixel 7 has a 4700mAh battery, while the Pixel 7 Pro has a 5000mAh battery. Both smartphones will offer 30W fast charging. Google probably won’t include the charger in the box. The devices will also be on par with modern flagships when it comes to waterproofing, with an IP68 rating.

Android 13 will be available out of the box for both devices. It will offer the same Pixel-exclusive features like live translation and magic eraser. Both devices will offer face unlock and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Cameras

The Pixel 7 will have a dual-camera system on the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The 7 Pro will receive a 48MP telephoto camera with up to 5x optical zoom in addition to the two cameras on the Pixel 7. The Pro model will support cinematic blur, true tone, macro focus, and up to 30x high-resolution zoom. The basic model will not support macro focus, and its high-resolution zoom will be limited to 8x magnification. A 10.8MP front-facing camera with 4K video recording will be available for selfies.

Expected pricing & availability

The vanilla Pixel 7 listing leaked last week, all but confirming the rumors that the device will have a starting price of $599. EU customers can expect the price tag of the base Pixel 7 to be around €650.

On the other hand, the Pixel 7 Pro model is rumored to have a starting price of $899. The Pixel 7 will have three color options – Snow, Obsidian, and Lemongrass. Whereas, the 7 Pro will get Obsidian, Hazel, and Snow.

Google will launch the Pixel 7 series smartphones at its October 6th “Made by Google” event. The company will launch two devices in the series – Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Ahead of the launch, many leaks have revealed the specifications and pricing of the devices.

Now, leakster Yogesh Brar has shared the full spec sheet of both the Pixel 7 devices, so let’s take a look.

Google Pixel 7 series specs

Starting with the Pixel 7 Pro, the device will feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Contrarily, the standard model will sport a 6.3-inch Full HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

The standard model will include a dual-camera system on the back. A 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera will be featured in the Pixel 7 series. A 48MP telephoto camera with up to 5x optical zoom will be added to the 7 Pro. The Pro model will have capabilities including movie motion blur, true tone, and up to 30x zoom compatibility. The macro focus will not be supported by the basic model, and its high-res zoom will be limited to an 8x magnification. For selfies, there will be a 10.8MP front camera with support for 4K video recording.

Future Google phones will be powered by an internal Tensor G2 SoC. A Titan M2 security chip and an in-display fingerprint scanner will also be included. Both phones will offer 128GB or 256GB storage options. The Pixel 7 will have 8GB of RAM, whereas the Pro model will have 12GB of RAM as standard.

According to the specification sheet, the phones will enable wired and wireless fast charging and have a battery life of over 24 hours. The Pixel 7 will have a 4700mAh battery, while the 7 Pro will have a 5000mAh battery, according to information that has leaked. Both smartphones will offer 30W fast charging. Design-wise, the device is quite similar to the Pixel 6 Pro, but it features a better-looking camera arrangement on the camera visor and an overall more polished and premium look.

Relatedly, Amazon has jumped the gun on the Pixel 7 series and has listed (now removed) the Pixel 7 device on its website with a $599 price tag. This was first brought to attention by M. Brandon Lee of This is Tech Today. Apparently, the device appeared on the Amazon US website when Lee searched for ‘B0BCQXXRJJ’.

This listing all but confirms that the earlier leaks about the Pixel 7 being priced at $599 were true. Going by this, we can also expect the Pixel 7 Pro to have a price tag of $899. It is worth noting that these are the same prices at which Google debuted the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro last year.

Other than the pricing, the specs of the devices also appear to be quite similar to the last generation devices, with a few improvements here and there. Google is most likely focusing on a more stable software experience this time around, as the constant bugs in the Pixel 6 series were the only drawback of those devices.

Google‘s upcoming Pixel 7 series smartphones are set to be announced on October 6th. Customers will be able to pre-order the device starting October 6th, whereas the shipping is rumored to begin from October 18th.

Ahead of the launch event, a new leak from Artem Russakovskii has revealed the pricing of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. According to the leak, the Pixel 7, which has the codename Panther, will be priced at $599, while the Pixel 7 Pro, codenamed Cheetah, will cost $899. As for the vanilla Pixel 7, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6.4-inch 90Hz OLED display with a 50MP main camera (Samsung GN1) and a 13MP ultrawide camera (Sony IMX38) for photography. It will have the same front camera as the Pro model and will also be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset.

Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 7 series smartphones on October 6 at the Made By Google event. The devices will feature new chipsets called Tensor G2.

Ahead of the launch, the Pixel 7 Pro has appeared on Geekbench, giving us an idea of the new chip’s performance. The chipset has an octa-core processor onboard with a base frequency of 1.80GHz. Two of the cores have a max clock of 2.35GHz and the remaining two can boost up to 2.85GHz.

It looks like the company is using the same combination of two Cortex-X1 cores, two Cortex-A76 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores, with higher clock speeds. The chipset has a new GPU onboard called the Mali-G710, which is expected to offer a 20% bump in performance and 20% increased power efficiency.

The benchmark shows that the Google Pixel 7 Pro scores 1068 points on the single-core test and 2149 points on the multi-core test of Geekbench 5. Other than that, the listing shows that the device has 12GB RAM and operates on Android 12.

The Search Engine giant took to its official Twitter handle for Japan and shared a tweet. However, this tweet wasn’t a simple announcement post. Rather, the Google Japan Twitter handle shared a link to its website that showed four different colorways that linked to different kinds of potato chip flavors. Looking at these colors, there is an Hazel Onion color for the off green color, Salty Lemon for the lime green option, Obsidian Pepper for the black variant, and Snow Cheese for the white version.

To put things simply, the brand basically revealed the color options for the Pixel 7 Pro in a very unique manner that included potato chips of all things. Notably, Google’s images have also revealed that the base Pixel 7 model will launch in Black and Lime Green option, so it appears that the off green and white color variants might b exclusive to the higher end Pro variant.

Although, this is still not confirmed and these colors may not be locked to just a single model. Furthermore, the tweet while weird isn’t exactly something that Google has pulled for the first time. Google has just recently announced a new launch event set for October 6, where the Pixel 7 series is expected to launch along with the Pixel Watch. However, prior to the official announcement, the company has confirmed the color options and new Tensor chips for the Pixel 7 lineup.

Talking about the new chipset first, the Search Engine giant has confirmed (reference to its name spotted on the updated Pixel 7’s official site) the name of the second generation Tensor chip that will power its flagship Pixel 7 series. The new SoC is dubbed the Tensor G2. While the original Google Tensor featured 8 cores and was based on the 5nm process, the next gen chipset will be based on Samsung’s 4nm based process.

For those unaware, the first gen Tensor chip was made in collaboration with Samsung as well. The 5nm chipset had 8 cores and a Mali G78 MP20 GPU. Through the collaboration, Google designed a smartphone chip that will leverage its machine intelligence. As per official claims, the Tensor G2 will launch with Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro and will bring improvements in the image and video processing as well as security and voice recognition. Furthermore, its also possible that the same chipset will run the Pixel 7a model similar to the last gen Pixel 6a.

Notably, the company has referred to this second gen Tensor chipset as the “GS201” internally. The Tensor G2 will be based on the 4nm LPE process and features 2 x Cortex X1 cores, 2 x Cortex A78 cores, and 4x Cortex A55 cores, with its AnTuTu scores expected to hit around the 800,000 points mark. Based on recent rumors, Google is also working on a new face unlock feature for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Apart from this, the brand also revealed the color options for its upcoming high end smartphones. The company recently updated its online store, which showcased the new Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 in multiple color options. Its higher end Pro model will be available in three options, including Obsidian, Hazel, and Snow. On the other hand, the base variant will also have three colors, namely bsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow.

The brand even had a short description, which read “With the next gen Google Tensor processor, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will bring even more helpful, personalized features to photos, videos, security, and speech recognition.” The Pixel 7 series is expected to be announced on the 6th of October 2022, with the Pixel Watch tagging alongside it. Google Pixel 7 series specs (expected)

The Pixel 7 series will resemble the Pixel 6 series in appearance. The Pixel 7 will be equipped with dual cameras, while the Pixel 7 Pro will be outfitted with triple cameras. The phones are believed to have a 50MP main camera (Samsung GN1) and a 13MP ultrawide camera (Sony IMX38). A 48MP telephoto camera will also be included with the 7 Pro (Samsung GM1). The front camera on both models is expected to have a 10.87MP (Samsung 3J1) sensor.

The Pixel 7 will feature a 6.4-inch 90Hz OLED panel, while the Pixel 7 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display. The two phones will also have the latest Google Tensor processor, which will be revealed soon. In terms of software, we can expect both devices to come with Android 13.0.

The upcoming Pixel Watch on the other hand will run on Wear OS that will support Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other Google services and smart notifications. The device is also expected to be powered by a 300mAh battery pack, which may last for one full day.

Google gave us a sneak peek at its upcoming flagships, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro during the I/O 2022 and since then the devices have been the subject of various leaks and rumors. Recently, we saw a hands-on video with what looked like Pixel 7 prototypes. Now a new video has surfaced on Facebook which shows what appears to be the retail packaging for the Pixel 7 Pro in black.

Gadgetfull BD, an electronics store located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, shared a quick video on Facebook which shows what looks like a retail unit of the Pixel 7 Pro. In the video, a person can be seen taking a device out of a Google-branded retail box and showing off its sleek black rear panel, which features Google’s “G” logo.

The phone in the video looks identical to Google’s official renders. It is having the same visor-like aluminum camera module with two cutouts for the sensors. In addition, the handset even shows Google Pixel’s official animation sequence when it’s booted. We can also see the charging cable and the documentation bundled inside the retail box.

The video does not offer any details regarding the specification of the Pixel 7 Pro. However, previous reports suggest the device will be equipped with Google’s next-gen Tensor processor. On the front, it may feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Further, the device will sport a triple rear camera setup that may include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor. Pixel 7 Pro could draw power from a 5000mAh battery that may support 33W fast charging.

The launch date of the Pixel 7 Pro is yet to be announced. It is expected to debut sometime in October alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch.

At the 2022 Google I/O event, the search giant gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming Google Pixel 7 series. The teaser only revealed the design of the smartphone and nothing else. It is expected to make its debut later this year (around October).

The Pixel 7 series is expected to come with at least two devices. These will likely be the vanilla Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro. Months ahead of the expected launch, the Pixel 7 series has been spotted on the REL Canada certification website. The listing discloses the two phones’ model numbers and verifies their official names.

According to the listing, the Pixel 7 has the model numbers GQML3 and GVU6C. The Pixel 7 Pro, on the other hand, has the model number GE2AE and GP4BC. The listing does not confirm any other details, so let’s take at the information available so far.

The Pixel 7 will have a dual-camera arrangement, while the Pixel 7 Pro will have a triple-camera setup. Months ago, the Search Engine giant had offered us a glimpse of the Pixel 7 series of flagship smartphones. However, it did not reveal any finer details or information regarding its launch date. But recently, it seems that the company might have offered us hints at its possible launch month timeline in a recent post on Twitter. Looking at the tweet, the brand had shared an image in which we can see a couple of different Pixel series smartphones in a math equation.

The image includes (in order) the Pixel 3, Pixel 6, Pixel 3, and the first ever Pixel phone. So taking away the Pixel branding and solely focusing on the number, we get the equation of 3 x 6 – 3 ÷ ⅓ x 1. Solving this simple arithmetic problem, we get the answer of number 9. While the company did not specify what the solution would stand for, it seems highly likely that it is related to the Pixel 7 series. Furthermore, the number 9 could also specify the launch month of the smartphone, with the ninth month of the year being October.

Previously, we had covered another rumor which claimed that the Pixel 7 series will be launching October 9, while its availability will begin around October 13. So, it appears that the official teaser is in line with our older report. Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed speculation as of right now, so take this report with a pinch of salt and stick around for more updates.

Reliable sources have leaked the pre-order and launch date for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. The devices have been on the radar for three months since Google released key details and images about its flagship smartphones. Authoritative tipster Jon Prosser may have unwrapped the launch details of the upcoming models. It is rumored that pre-orders will commence on October 6 while availability starts on October 13.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are both stock Android premium models and Google had been mum on their release details previously. A Google event to unveil the two models is scheduled to hold on October 6 and their official specs and pricing will be unveiled. Actual shipments will commence one week after the official unveiling of the two smartphones. In comparison with their predecessors (the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro), the new models are coming a bit earlier. There are a couple of similarities with the trajectory of previous models. All the particulars point to some likelihood of the said launch date although the traditional two-week availability after launch seems to have been breached.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are being propped to compete with the iPhone. They are tensor-powered models with fluidity and stability mooted by Google. They are expected to benefit from the observed shortcomings of the Pixel 6/ Pixel 6 Pro. There will be significant upgrades in the software aspect of the two flagships. It remains to be seen however how they will compete with the powerhouses in the premium end of the smartphone market.

Google’s next-generation flagship Pixel 7 series is expected to debut in the coming months. We already know the smartphone’s design that was showcased at the annual I/O Developer conference in May. Now tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) has tipped key details about the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro’s camera configuration. 

The Google Pixel 7 series will arrive as the successors to the Pixel 6 series. The upcoming offering’s predecessors i.e. the regular Pixel 7 comes with a 50MP primary lens paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle unit. On the other hand, the Pro model also features an additional 48MP telephoto sensor.

As per the tipster, the Google Pixel 7 will get a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor coupled with a Sony IMX381 ultra-wide angle lens. The latter is said to be an upgrade over the 12.3MP IMX380. As for the Google Pixel 7 Pro, it will reportedly come with a 48MP GM1 telephoto lens while the rest of the sensors are claimed to be the same as the regular variant. Both upcoming flagship smartphones from Google are tipped to come with a 10.87MP Samsung sensor at the front for selfies and video calling. 

The Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are confirmed to come with the search giant’s next-generation Tensor processor. Both devices will feature an upgraded design starting with an aluminium horizontal bridge on the back panel housing dual cameras in a pill-shaped cutout and a third lens paired with LED flash outside. The Pixel 7 duo will come with a dual-tone finish with a premium glass back panel and ship with Android 13 OS out of the box.

Earlier this year, Google teased the Pixel 7 series at the I/O 2022 event. The company had confirmed the fall launch timeline for the upcoming flagship lineup and teased some of its design elements. But now, we have a closer look at a prototype model of the higher end Pixel 7 Pro.

In a bizarre turn of events, a buyer looking to purchase the Pixel 6 Pro placed an order on the Facebook marketplace. However, rather than getting the current gen flagship, he was sent the prototype model for the Pixel 7 Pro instead. Following this, his friend took to Twitter to share the news. The original buyer had waited two months for the Pixel 6 Pro, but might have gotten his hands on a surprising upgrade.

Interestingly, the upcoming Pixel flagship model arrived with a prototpe case that hides most of its design. However, the user did share images of the device without the cover as well to showcase the full design of the rear panel. The unreleased device was also found running on Android 13 OS (Tiramisu) as well. The friend of the original buyer believes that the seller might have been an OEM manufacturer who supplies Pixel 7 series smartphones.

As of right now, the story appears too convenient to be true. On the other hand, Google did send a remote wipe command that cleared the Android 13 update off the device, which is now stuck in the bootloader. The Pixel 7 Pro is the next flagship from the search engine giant, so stay tuned as we will be covering any other leaks or reports regarding this device.

Google’s Pixel 7 series is expected to launch in October. The phones’ prototypes have already been leaked in live images and videos online ahead of the launch. It has also been revealed that forthcoming Pixel phones will sport the same display as their predecessor. Now a developer revealed via Twitter that he has been able to use Pixel 7 Pro’s display drivers on Pixel 6 Pro to access a hidden Android 13 screen resolution setting.

By using the Pixel 7 Pro's display driver on the Pixel 6 Pro, Android 13's screen resolution setting becomes available, and the resolution can be changed to 1080p.

As you can see in the video, The Pixel 6 Pro‘s screen resolution can be adjusted to 1080p by using the Pixel 7 Pro‘s display driver. This confirms the rumors of the Pixel 7 series using the same display as the Pixel 6 series. Moreover, it implies that the Pixel 7 Pro’s display will be 1440p and that it can also be changed to 1080p. On the contrary, Pixel 6 Pro does not have such a feature but it’s possible that Google may introduce this with the Android 13 Update.

The developer also stated that it’s an actual resolution with specific timings defined in the driver and in addition to 1080p, it also supports 1080p30Hz.

Resolution adjustment can be useful while gaming. Moreover, it takes less CPU/GPU power to render fewer pixels, which extends battery life. The visual difference between 1080p and 1440p is negligible, however, the graphic performance is much better in the 1440p resolution.

We already know that Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be powered by the next-generation Tensor 2 manufactured by Samsung. The Pixel 7 series seems to sport a similar design to the Pixel 6, it will have the same visor-like camera module with the Pixel 7 Pro having a triple camera setup. Both the devices will likely run Android 13 out of the box.

Other hardware specifications of the smartphones are yet to be known. However, given the rate of leaks, we’ll soon know more about both the phones.

Just a few days ago, an alleged Google Pixel 7 prototype showed up on eBay, and it featured photos of the device powered on. Now its companion the Pixel 7 Pro’s prototype has been spotted in live images online. What’s more interesting is someone was using this prototype for about three weeks without even noticing.

The news comes from the Google Pixel subreddit, where a user shared that they have been using the purported Pixel 7 Pro for about three weeks without even realizing that it was an unreleased phone. The user, however, didn’t share any images of the smartphone. The leaked images were spotted on Slashleaks.

The leaked images show the display of the smartphone with the device information page and the bootloader screen. It can be seen in the images that the back of the Pixel 7 Pro is very similar to the Pixel 7, except that the Pro model has an additional camera.

The device can be seen to have a new metal rear camera island that has a similar visor-like look. While on the front, the Pixel 7 Pro seems to have the same curved screen as its predecessor. The images also reveal that the smartphone has 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.

The design and appearance are still fine, however, we don’t quite understand why the Device Info is listing the name as “Cubot Cheetah 2”. It is the name of an old, very old smartphone that was manufactured by the Chinese smartphone maker Cubot.

As per previous reports, the upcoming Google Pixel 7 series could feature the same display as the current Pixel 6 series. However, the upcoming smartphones are going to carry major upgrades in terms of camera, processor, and software. The Pixel 7 series will officially launch in October this year.

Earlier this month, Google introduced the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro alongside the upcoming Pixel 6a, Pixel Watch, and Pixel Buds Pro. This was just a teaser for the upcoming flagship Android phones and we’re still about five months off the launch of the Pixel 7 series. However, a new report is here to reveal some interesting details about the display and other major specs of the smartphone duo. Let’s take a look at it.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will feature the exact same display as their predecessor Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. The publication uncovered this from the Android Open-Source Project, where Google created two new display drivers, one tagged C10 and the other P10. The tags appear to be the abbreviated version of “Cheetah” and “Panther”, the codenames of Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Further digging into the code disclosed that both the devices will sport the same Samsung-made display panels as the Pixel 6 duo, with model numbers S6E3FC3 and S6E3HC3, respectively.

This means that the Pixel 7 will feature a 1080 x 2400 display that is capable of running at up to 90Hz, whereas the Pixel 7 Pro will have a 1440 x 3120 display that can support up to 120Hz refresh rate. If you recall, these are the same specs as the 2021 Pixels.

However, the Pixel 7 is said to be a bit smaller than last year’s Pixel 6, the handset’s display will be 1mm narrower and 2mm shorter. On the contrary, the Pixel 7 Pro’s display is the same as the Pixel 6 Pro but it will have a native 1080p mode, which is likely to improve battery saving in Low Power Mode.

Judging from leaks and rumors, the Pixel 7 series only seems to carry minor upgrades and nothing out of the ordinary. However, there are still 5 months to the launch and Google may surprise us.

Google kicked off its annual developers’ conference and during event, the company revealed information about the upcoming flagship smartphones from the brand.

It revealed that the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones would be officially getting launched later this fall. Apart from that, the search engine giant has also shared some of the key details and features of the devices.

Google confirmed that the upcoming flagship smartphones would come powered by the company’s own next-generation Tensor chipset. The set of sensors remains the same in the camera department as its precessors, and so does the horizontal camera bar on the back.

But the camera bar on the phone’s back panel has been updated and is now made of aluminum and runs across the side rails. In the software department, the devices will come running the latest Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box.

It also appears that the company has ditched the two-tone color design on the back panel for the upcoming Pixel 7 series smartphones. Apart from this information, the company has not revealed much about the devices.

Based on the rumors and leaks so far, the Google Pixel 7 Pro smartphone could feature a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch curved OLED display with an LTPO panel and have a QHD+ screen resolution (1440p) with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

Despite the current-generation models facing issues, it is also expected to continue offering an under-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to be powered by the second-generation Google Tensor chipset and offer up to 512GB of internal storage.

Some reports have revealed that the Google Pixel 7 series is expected to come in Stormy Black, Sorta SeaFoam, and Cloudy White shades. While the smartphones are expected to launch after autumn this year, the technology giant has not yet shared more information, including pricing and availability.
