US tech giant Google Tuesday held a launch event that heralded the arrival of the much-anticipated Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. The models have been a long time coming and they did arrive alongside a second-generation model of the Google Pixel Stand.

The Pixel Stand (Second Generation) utilizes the Qi charging standard just like its predecessor. The wireless charger can deliver up to 23W charging to the new Pixel 6 and 6 Pro models. It also supports 15W fast charging to other Qi-compliant devices.

In terms of the design, the second-gen Pixel Stand is manufactured from recycled TPU and polycarbonate material, giving it a lightweight build. It weighs just 71g. Inside the hood, the wireless charger packs a dual coil wireless charging system with one of the coils dedicated to charging wearable devices. The gadget also arrives with an active cooling fan that helps keep it cool while in operation. Google says the fan is near-silent while in operation.

The Pixel Stand isn’t available to buy yet and there is no fixed date for its launch just yet. However, the gadget carries a $79 price tag which is the same as the previous generation model. The device will be shipped with a USB Type-C charging adapter of 30W rating as well as a 1.5m long Type-C cable. It is presently listed on Google’s official online store.

Ahead of the scheduled October 16 unveiling of the Pixel 6 and other Google products, a new leak has further illuminated the design choices inherent in the Pixel 6 Stand. Some additional features in the new Pixel 6 Stand make it stand out from the older models. The Pixel 6 Stand has a fan for cooling and supports faster charging speeds, which we had known previously via some leaks.

A new leak has shown that the Pixel 6 Stand will feature a dual coil wireless charging system with a dedicated coil for wearable devices. Up to 23W charging will be supported on compatible devices, while the active cooling fan maintains some balance and efficiency while in operation. The tipster, M. Brandon Lee provided these details via his YouTube channel including some wallpapers of the Pixel 6 series.

Two charge points are available in the new Pixel 6 Stand and will offer a smart display for the Google Pixel 6 phone. The stand is made up of a substantial part of recycled materials and will thrill sustainability enthusiasts. In addition to the improved software experience using the Google Pixel 6 Stand, it also offers a raft of functions that will make its use as a Pixel 6 accessory an exciting experience.

There are other details also revealed by the tipster including a 1-year limited warranty for and other countries while a 2-year warranty will be available for the EU, China, and the UK. Confirmation of these leaks will come as we inch closer to the October 19 launch date for the Google Pixel 6 Stand.  As per the new leak, the Pixel 6 Stand will cost $79 in the US.
