Rumors around the launch price of Grand Theft Auto 6 have resurfaced after a retailer webpage showed a possible price for the upcoming game. Although Rockstar Games has not confirmed any pricing details, the listing has triggered discussions among gamers about whether the next GTA could arrive with a higher-than-usual cost.

GTA 6 price surfaces via online listing

A product page spotted on the online retailer Loaded (via) showed Grand Theft Auto 6 listed at approximately $124.19 for the Xbox Series X and Series S version. The same page also shows a separate PC listing priced around $84.19, even though Rockstar has not officially confirmed a PC launch alongside console platforms. Both versions are currently marked with a notify option rather than an active purchase button, suggesting that these prices may be placeholders rather than final retail figures.

Retailers sometimes upload estimated pricing early to prepare their systems for preorders or to monitor consumer interest before official announcements are made. Since Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive have not revealed any pricing details so far, these numbers should be treated cautiously. The presence of a PC listing is also notable, as the developer has not officially committed to releasing the game on that platform at launch.

Speculation about a higher price largely stems from the growing cost of developing large-scale games. Modern open-world titles demand advanced graphics technology, complex AI systems, and ongoing online support, all of which increase production expenses. As industry pricing trends gradually shift upward, some analysts believe Grand Theft Auto 6 could set a new benchmark for standard edition pricing.

However, Rockstar’s previous blockbuster titles launched at traditional AAA price points and generated additional revenue through online modes and extended content support. Until the company confirms details, the reported $99.99 figure remains unverified. For now, the safest assumption is that pricing discussions are based on speculation rather than confirmed information.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was supposed to launch in May this year. However, an update released by the brand a couple of months ago revealed it will go official in November 2026.

Sony-Rockstar collab to make GTA 6 run at 60fps on the PS5 Pro

According to tipster Detective Seeds on X, a PlayStation engineer has revealed that Sony is working with Rockstar for a marketing deal. This is related to GTA 6 running on Sony’s PS5 Pro at 60fps. The source claims that the game will have multiple graphical settings (likely presets), but there’s no special performance mode. Rather, the game will run at 60fps on every single setting.

To achieve this, Sony has engineers working with Rockstar while also prepping an update for its console, which may go live in May 2026, the same month when GTA 6 debuts. It seems like GTA 6 will only run on the PS5 Pro and not the base PS5, despite the two not having a groundbreaking difference in performance. Additionally, the collaboration will also include special PlayStation bundles and other games that will drop on the platform in the future.

To recall, the popular second trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 was captured on the base PS5, with the game running at 30fps. Previous Rockstar titles have also been released at 30fps, but the PS5 Pro could run GTA V on 1440p at 60fps. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment, so take this news with a grain of salt for now.

While many fans had hoped to get their hands on the game sooner, this marks the first time we’ve received a concrete release date from the studio. In the official statement, Rockstar seems aware of the fan disappointment stating “We are very sorry that this is later than you expected.”

The developer also expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest and support from the community, calling it “truly humbling”. “With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations,” the message reads. And in true Rockstar fashion, the studio is prioritizing quality over speed, promising a game that meets the high bar fans have come to expect.

Rockstar emphasized that the delay is necessary to ensure GTA 6 lives up to the towering expectations placed on it. This delay might sting, but the silver lining is clear. Rockstar Games is working on what could possibly be the most hyped video game of all time. The studio’s Grand Theft Auto 6 had its first trailer drop at the end of 2023 and broke a bunch of new world records. However, the official launch date of the GTA 6 is still unknown. But a fresh leak might have just leaked the release date for the upcoming AAA game.

GTA 6: When does it drop?

The only official information available regarding the GTA 6 release was an Autumn 2025 launch window. But this is a broad timeline. However, a new leak has hinted at the possible launch timeline now. While Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s Parent Company) is also working on the Mafia: The Old Country, it had its launch date was leaked via Steam (a popular online gaming library).

Mafia: The Old Country may debut on 8th August 2025. AAA games usually avoid launching their games in close proximity to avoid cannibalizing sales. In September 2025, the highly anticipated Borderlands 4 and NBA 2K26 are set to debut. So the remaining launch windows include October and November since August and September are seemingly crowded.

Considering how the official launch is said to be in Autumn 2025, which runs from September to November, the latter is likely when the GTA 6 may finally debut. This would have the game lead the holiday season and have enough time to be a consideration for The Game Awards, which is typically held in December. Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 (Or GTA 6) is easily one of the most hyped video games of all time. Just like Cyberpunk 2077, it already has a core fan base dedicated to finding every piece of information regarding the next gen GTA title. So now, here’s a quick roundup of every major detail that has been leaked or revealed so far.

The setting for GTA 6

One of the biggest reveal regarding GTA 6 was its setting in the fictional state of Leonida. An imaginary state isn’t uncommon in games but the most anticipated aspect was the return of an iconic town, which is Vice City. The coastal region isn’t the only highlight of the setting as the game will include a bunch of other new locations and is said to be the biggest and most immersive game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

The narrative will reportedly include both North and South America, bringing in different geographies. Rockstar might make the world dynamic and update the game with new locations or more cities later down the road as well. Another notable aspect of the entire setting is that it isn’t a modern GTA title like GTA 5. Rather, we are going back to the 1980s with this one.

What’s the plot?

Based on the first trailer of GTA 6, there appear to be two playable characters that are also a couple like Bonnie and Clyde. Lucia is the first character, who was also spotted in some of the earliest leaks. The two are a criminal duo that are pursuing greater scores. There might be a section of the game that involves one of the playable characters getting incarcerated but details are still sketchy. Very little is actually known about the story, but it could involve these Lucia and her partner growing from street level thugs to some kind of mafia bosses.

Gameplay

Rockstar is likely bringing back the third person perspective and many of the mechanics from its previous entry. However, we can expect to see refinements in certain aspects like shooting, switching to first person, and much more. The Grand Theft Auto series from inception has also revolved around stealing cars, planes, and different vehicles and driving them, so there might be more depth added to that aspect as well.

GTA 6 Launch Date

GTA 6 is set to make its official debut on the Xbox Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5 series in the fall of 2025. While an official launch date is still unclear, the H2 2025 release has been announced. Unfortunately, the launch date for the PC port has yet to be revealed and it won’t be arriving on the platform at launch.

The GTA 6 trailer shattered multiple records when it dropped

It’s been five months since the first trailer for GTA 6 shattered YouTube records. The sequel takes players back to the vibrant city of Vice City, set in the fictional state of Leonida (based on Florida). The trailer showcased stunning graphics, a sprawling open world, and the game’s two protagonists, Lucia and Jason.

Here’s what’s fueling the rumor mill:

• Rockstar Games’ API Update: A dedicated fan-made Twitter bot keeps tabs on Rockstar’s API for GTA 6 news. Recently, the bot discovered four new links hinting at potential content: new game screenshots and possibly key art/cover art. Clicking these links currently leads to a dead end (404 error). What does that mean? That the content isn’t uploaded yet.
• Rockstar’s Social Media Cleanup: IT House points out that Rockstar recently cleared most of their Instagram content, leaving only posts related to the latest GTA Online DLC, GTA+, music labels, and minor posts. Interestingly, this is pretty similar to their actions before the first trailer’s release.

Combined with Rockstar‘s parent company Take-Two having an earnings call on May 16th, all signs point towards an imminent GTA 6 reveal. Leaks suggest new screenshots and cover art could surface within the next week.

While the official release is set for 2025, fans can be at least thankful to some extent that there is a possibility of getting a closer look at GTA 6 very soon.

Rockstar Games took the world by storm with the release of a video trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6). The trailer broke the internet as the YouTube video was bombarded with views and comments from tens of millions of people. A number of new records were broken as well. So let’s have a look.

GTA 6 Trailers Breaks Multiple Records in a Single Day

For those unaware, the trailer for GTA 6 was first released on 5th December 2023. The video exploded on YouTube, raking in over 90 million views in just the first 24 hours. Unfortunately, this trailer didn’t beat the record for the highest number of views in a single day. It is the third fastest most viewed video in 24 hours, falling just behind two records held by BTS songs, which includes ‘Butter’ that received 108 million views in 24 hours. However, there are a bunch of new world records that the game achieved even before its actual release.

As of right now, the trailer sits at an impressive 117 million+ views on YouTube, beating out the 12-year old trailer for its predecessor, GTA V, in just 12 hours. The Guinness Book of World Records stated that the GTA 6 trailer has managed to become the most viewed video game reveal of all time in just 24 hours. That is not all, the video has also achieved the title of the most viewed non-music YouTube video on the first day, beating out the previous record of 59.4 million views that was held by MrBeast.

The GTA 6 trailer also became the most-liked YouTube video in 24 hours, garnering over 8.9 million views. At the moment, this figure now sits at nearly 10 million likes. Keep in mind that this is just the first trailer for the Grand Theft Auto 6, with more to come soon. Furthermore, these records were for YouTube and do not account for the millions of views that were received on other platforms like X (formerly Twitter). Notably, the trailer helped Rockstar Games gain millions of subscribers on YouTube, making them just 90,000 short of the 10 million subscriber milestone.

Anticipation for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 is reaching a fever pitch. Now, just days ahead of the official reveal, a new leak has surfaced, revealing the alleged gameplay footage and details of the GTA 6 map.

GTA 6 leak: A glimpse into Vice City

The leaked footage, posted on TikTok by a user named azzarossi, appears to be from a development build of GTA 6. It showcases a metropolis area of Vice City, with the camera moving freely and developer notes visible on the screen.

While the footage doesn’t reveal much in terms of gameplay, it does provide another glimpse into the highly anticipated game. GTA fans have quickly compared the leaked footage to last year’s leaks and found similarities in terms of buildings and landmarks.

Adding to the intrigue surrounding the leak is the identity of the leaker. According to reliable GTA source GTA Base, azzarossi is the son of a Rockstar Games employee. 

In addition to the leaked footage, more details about GTA 6 have also been circulating online. According to these leaks, GTA 6 will feature a map that’s twice the size of GTA V’s Los Santos. The game is also said to include three major cities and four sub-cities, with a large lake in the center of the map.

The leaker claims that 70% of the buildings in GTA 6 will be enterable, and the game is reportedly set for a fall 2024 launch. Pre-orders for the game are expected to go live following the release of the first trailer this week.

GTA Base further clarified that while the evidence linking the leaker to the Rockstar employee is convincing, it’s also possible that the picture used as evidence could be fake or that a third party is impersonating the leaker.

Rockstar Games has yet to comment on the leak, so it’s important to treat the information as a rumor until official confirmation. However, the leak has undoubtedly fueled the excitement for GTA 6, adding another layer of anticipation to the upcoming reveal.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Long Due GTA V Sequel

Grand Theft Auto V celebrated its 10th anniversary in September and is the second best selling video game of all time. But despite being a decade old, there is still no official word regarding its highly anticipated sequel. According to a Bloomberg report, GTA 6 could be announced or confirmed later this week. If this is true, then Rockstar Games could also release a new title for GTA 6 on the studio’s 25th anniversary, which is set in December.

In other words, the first announcement is set for later this week, while the first trailer drops sometime next month. Back in September of last year, we got our first look at the game thanks to a massive leak, which shared gameplay videos of an early GTA 6 build. The title has reportedly been in development for over a decade and could also be the most expensive game.

The total project budget could range somewhere between 1 to 2 billion US Dollars. Interestingly, the GTA 6 leaker managed to hack Rockstar thanks to an Amazon Fire Stick and the Hotel TV. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment, so take this news with a pinch of salt.

In September 2022, the gaming world was rocked by the release of 90 video clips showing unfinished gameplay of the long-awaited triple-A blockbuster title Grand Theft Auto 6. The clips were quickly taken down, but not before they had been seen by millions of people.

The investigation into the leak eventually led to the arrest of an 18-year-old boy Arion Kurtaj in the UK. The boy was a member of the Lapsuss$ hacker group. Lapsus$ is a loosely organized group of hackers who have been linked to a number of high-profile data breaches, including those affecting Microsoft, Nvidia, and Okta.

Before hacking Rockstar, Kurtaj was arrested for the second time after the Nvidia breach of February 2022. He was kept in a Travelodge hotel in Bicester due to safety concerns. The police had strict bail conditions for him, including barring him from using the internet. However, that was not enough to prevent him from continuing his hacks.

GTA 6 Gameplay Leaked via Amazon Fire TV Stick

According to a BBC report, Kurtaj used a simple Amazon Fire TV Stick, a smartphone, a keyboard, and a mouse to infiltrate Rockstar’s cloud services. He accessed the internet through the hotel’s television, despite his bailed conditions that barred him from using the internet. 

He then stole unfinished gameplay clips of Grand Theft Auto VI and messaged Rockstar employees on Slack, claiming to be an attacker and threatening to release the source code if they didn’t contact him on Telegram.

Meanwhile, around 90 clips of the game were later released on the GTA Forums on September 18, 2022. It is not clear if the teenager was the one who leaked the footage since it was posted under the alias “TeaPotUberHacker” on a GTA fan forum. But Kurtaj was arrested again and detained for trial shortly after.

Presumably, the GTA 6 leaker was likely assisted by other members of the hacker group. A 17-year-old accomplice, who operated in England and Brazil, was also put on trial for his involvement in these cyber attacks.

Rockstar Games has not released any official information about GTA 6 yet, but it is expected to be released in 2024. In the meantime, fans can revisit Grand Theft Auto V across multiple platforms.
