Huawei has started rolling out a new software update for the Huawei Pura X Max foldable smartphone. The latest HarmonyOS 6.1.0.125 SP13 update arrives with a package size of around 1.67GB and introduces several new features, including a limited-time camera watermark, theme enhancements, 3D visual effects, and a new single-app volume adjustment tool.

The rollout is being released in phases, which means some users may receive the update later than others.

New Limited-Time Camera Watermark

One of the biggest additions in the update is a new aesthetic-inspired limited-time watermark feature for the camera app. Huawei says the watermark can be applied to photos captured until September 15, 2026 (00:00).

Users can enable or disable the watermark, change its background color, and even customize the text according to their preferences. The feature can be accessed through the Camera settings menu.

Path:
Camera → Swipe Up/Toolbox → Settings → Auto Add Watermark → Limited Time Watermark

Bumper Park Theme Gets New 3D Clock Styles

Huawei has also refreshed the Bumper Park theme with two new 3D clock layouts. The clock color automatically adapts to match the lock screen wallpaper, creating a more personalized appearance.

The new interactive clock can also be tapped directly on the lock screen for a more dynamic user experience.

To use the feature, users need to enable the “Clock and Battery Display as Stickers” option within the Bumper Park theme editor.

New 3D Charging Animations and Headphone Effects

The update adds several visual enhancements, including new 3D charging animations and redesigned headphone pop-up skins. These effects become available after users reapply the updated Bumper Park theme.

Path:
Settings → Desktop & Personalization → More Themes → Bumper Park

These additions are designed to make the device feel more interactive while improving the overall visual experience.

Single-App Volume Adjustment Now Available

Another practical feature included in HarmonyOS 6.1.0.125 is separate volume control for individual applications. Users can now adjust the volume of a specific app without affecting the overall media volume.

To use the feature, simply press a volume button while media is playing, expand the volume panel by swiping left, and adjust the volume slider for the active app.

Path:
Settings → Sound & Vibration → Separate Application Volume Adjustment

System Stability and Performance Improvements

In addition to new features, Huawei says the update optimizes system stability in certain scenarios and improves system extension capabilities. The company also notes that overall functionality and user experience have been enhanced.

Huawei Pura X Max Specifications

The Huawei Pura X Max is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro processor and is the first Huawei foldable smartphone to feature the Xiaoyi Companion AI assistant. It also supports 5A network speeds and was officially launched on April 25, 2026.

Huawei markets the device as the industry’s first horizontally foldable smartphone, combining flagship hardware with advanced AI capabilities.

Huawei Pura X Max Pricing

According to a CNTechPost report, the Chinese tech giant is currently working on improving its hardware and software capabilities, and is seeking to bring HarmonyOS to 100 million additional devices within this year, as per Xu Zhijun, vice chairman of Huawei. Previously, another executive had revealed that the consumer electronics maker had partnered with 20 hardware vendors and 280 application software developing companies that would use its new operating system.

Now, Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei’s consumer business software division, has announced that the company’s conservative target for the number of HarmonyOS equipped devices this year is 300 million units. Some of its partners that will help it reach this goal include brands like Midea and Joyoung. Out of the 300 million units, 100 million devices would arrive with the new OS out of the box. Meaning, the company would be launching various new products that will ship the OS rather than later being upgraded to it.

For those unaware, HarmonyOS is a software built with cross platform integration in mind. In other words, the software is built to unify different devices and is not limited to just smartphones and TVs. The company aims to have it be universal for its product. Unfortunately, the vendor has yet to officially reveal a detailed release roadmap, although, the company has launched Beta versions of the OS for certain smartphone models.

Assuming that the HUAWEI P50 series launches in a couple of months, it should also get it alongside the 2021 foldable first. HUAWEI brought the HarmonyOS ecosystem as a way to evade the tussle with the US and the subsequent ban on Google Mobile Services(GMS).

This new Operating System is also considered as an infrastructure to get deep into the roots of smart IoT devices including Smart TVs. The company Last year upped the ante by bringing the HarmonyOS 2.0.

As mentioned above, it extended the support for IoT devices initially. Following this, it released the SDK and Developer Toolkit for Smartphones in December 2020 and Beta versions from Jan’21.

Now, it has finally found the groove for the Flagships, and hence, expect the stable versions to roll out before H1 2021 ends. We don’t have an exact list of devices that will be getting the update yet. However, it is likely to arrive on the Huawei P, Mate, and Nova devices gradually.

Not just the HarmonyOS, Huawei is working hard to improve the App Gallery market as well. As of 2020, it had up to 500 million monthly active users worldwide and is expanding further.
