Rumors that were doing rounds before its announcement had claimed that it would be launching as a Zero series of smartphones. While the concept phone may never release in the market, the company does seem to have plans to launch new Zero branded smartphones as a new handset called Zero X Neo has emerged at the Google Play Console.</p>
<p>The Infinix Zero X Neo was seen at the Bluetooth SIG authority in June. Now, it has been spotted with its X6810 model number at the Play Console. The listing has revealed that the device will be powered by the MediaTek <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/helio-g90">Helio G90</a> chipset and 8 GB of RAM.</p>
<p>The listing further states that the Zero M is equipped with a Full HD+ display that offers a 480ppi pixel density. It will come preinstalled with Android 11 OS.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-404419" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Infinix-ZERO-X-NEO-Google-Play-Console.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="659" height="796" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Infinix-ZERO-X-NEO-Google-Play-Console.jpg 659w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Infinix-ZERO-X-NEO-Google-Play-Console-248x300.jpg 248w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Infinix-ZERO-X-NEO-Google-Play-Console-348x420.jpg 348w" sizes="(max-width: 659px) 100vw, 659px" /></p>
<p>The X6810 Infinix phone was also spotted at the Malaysian SIRIM certification site in June. Interestingly, the listing revealed that it may debut in Malaysia with the Infinix Zero M moniker. Moreover, its Geekbench appearance revealed that it is equipped with specs like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/helio-g95">Helio G95</a> chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS.</p>
<p>Hopefully, newer reports will clear out the confusion regarding the moniker and specs of the X6810 Infinix phone. The Play Console listing is a good indicator that it may break cover as soon as this month. It is speculated that the next generation Zero lineup includes two other phones called <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/23/infinix-zero-x-will-be-accompanied-by-zero-x-pro-and-zero-x-neo/">the Zero X and Zero X Pro.</a></p>

The two phones in the series are the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro, and from what we already know, both phones pack some pretty interesting features including displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and four rear cameras each.</p>
<p>However, both phones will differ with respect to the processor inside them. The Realme 6 will have a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/mediatek-announces-helio-g90-and-g90t-g-is-for-gaming/">MediaTek Helio G90 processor</a> whilethe Realme 6 Pro will have a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/21/qualcomm-unveils-snapdragon-720g-snapdragon-662-and-snapdragon-460-mobile-platforms/">Snapdragon 720G</a> chipset made by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a>. The two processors are actually quite similar and are both designed for gaming, so they should be able to handle any modern mobile game thrown at them.</p>

The news arrived after Yenchi Lee (Senior Director in MediaTek) stated in an interview that the upcoming processors will be placed below the G90 series chipsets for both power and performance.</p>
<p>MediaTek&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/mediatek-announces-helio-g90-and-g90t-g-is-for-gaming/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Helio G90</a> series was one of the first smartphone chipset produced with mobile gaming as a focus. Following this line, the new entries will target the same audience but will be featured in more affordable smartphones. Although unconfirmed, the new chip series could be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/18/redmi-9-with-helio-g70-arriving-in-early-2020-claims-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Helio G70 series that is expected to power the Redmi 9 smartphones</a>.</p>

<p>As of right now, the senior executive from MediaTek has only given out a vague estimate. So, an official release date is still unknown. Furthermore, finer details like specifications of the upcoming low-end gaming SoC is also unknown. However, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/24/configuration-for-unreleased-helio-g70-leaks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a leak has suggested</a> that the chipset would be an octa core processor with two Cortex A-75 and six Cortex-A55 cores coupled with Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.</p>

<p>Notably, current flagship processors arrive with a tri-cluster or triple power domain CPUs. In other words, they feature a big, medium and little core, unlike MediaTek&#8217;s dual cluster. Even the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/26/mediatek-dimensity-1000-5g-high-end-chip-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dimensity 1000</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/08/mediatek-dimensity-800-with-integrated-5g-modem-for-low-priced-phones-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dimensity 800</a> chipsets did not feature this architecture while <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon SoC&#8217;s</a> have been for a while now. According to Yenchi Lee, the company is looking into this technology for the future and these chipsets would start shipping soon.</p>

<p>The Helio G90T processor will be powering the smartphone. Recent reports have revealed that the phone will be equipped with features like NFC and IR blaster. It may come with a 5,000mAh battery that will carry support for 18W fast charging. For heat dissipation, the Note 8 Pro will be coming with liquid cooling technology.</p>
<p>As far as the Redmi Note 8 is concerned, it will be also featuring a quad camera setup. It is speculated to come equipped with a 48-megapixel primary lens and it could be fueled by Helio G90. It could be housing a 4,000mAh battery. The other details of the Redmi Note 8 series are currently under the wraps. Probably, the Note 8 and Note 8 Pro phones could be equipped with the same 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with dot notch like the predecessor models.</p>

After its announcement, Redmi as well as its General Manager Lu Weibing had revealed <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/31/redmi-phone-with-helio-g90t-gaming-processor-teased-could-it-be-redmi-7-pro/">through Weibo</a> that the company will be releasing Helio G90T powered Redmi phones in future. Since then the rumor mill has been speculating that the Redmi Note 8 or Note 8 Pro could be equipped with the Helio G90T. The official confirmation has come from MediaTek now. It has revealed through Weibo that Helio G90T powered Redmi Note 8 series will be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/21/redmi-note-8-pro-with-64mp-triple-cameras-launching-on-august-29/">debuting on Aug. 29</a>.</p>

<p>The poster released by MediaTek states that the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro will be both powered by Helio G90T. However, there is a possibility that only the Redmi Note 8 Pro could be equipped with Helio G90T processor. The reason behind it that the Redmi Note 8 Pro is expected to come equipped with a 64-megapixel <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/08/20/leaked-redmi-note-8-pro-reveals-quad-rear-camera-setup/">quad camera setup</a>. Among the Helio G90 and Helio G90T processors, only the G90T carries support for 64-megapixel camera.</p>
<p>So, if the 64-megapixel camera sensor will remain exclusive to the Pro model, the Redmi Note 8 could be equipped with a different chipset. Since MediaTek is also endorsing the Redmi Note 8, probably it could be fueled by the Helio G90 that supports 48-megapixel primary lens. Before drawing conclusions, it is advisable to wait for further reports to know exact details on the camera configurations and processors for Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro handsets.</p>

<p>In terms of performance, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/mediatek-helio-g90-also-spotted-on-geekbench/">Geekbench</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/mediatek-g90-antutu-benchmark-score-versus-kirin-810-and-snapdragon-730/">AnTuTu</a> appearance of the 12nm Helio G90 had revealed that its performance is no par with Kirin 810 and 8nm Snapdragon 730 chipset. The Helio G90 includes two Cortex-A76 cores working at 2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores working at 2GHz. It includes ARM Mali G76 graphics that clocks at 700MHz and it carries support 21:9 aspect ratio display, 60Hz refresh rate, HDR10 standard, up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.</p>

<p>The Helio G90 series of chipsets support HyperEngine for improved connectivity between a smartphone and a cellular network. There is Dual Wi-Fi connection support that allows the phone to connect to two Wi-Fi networks at the same time. Its other features include Call and Data Concurrency, Resource Management Engine and a Picture Quality Engine.</p>

The G90 has again appeared on GeekBench reaffirming the superiority of the premium mid-range chipset over Qualcomm&#8217;s latest Snapdragon 730. The chipset was spotted onboard a device with model number alps k85v1_64. This is similar to the device we saw on AnTuTu benchmark earlier on.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-267266" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="727" height="604" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench-300x249.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench-696x578.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-geekbench-506x420.jpg 506w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></a></p>
<p>The GeekBench score which was uploaded on April 15 shows the device having a multi-core performance of 7193 points. This is better than the Snapdragon 730 but since then, there might have been some optimization which might make the score even higher than that. The single-core performance stands at 2410 points.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK:</span> <a title="Xiaomi launches the C+86 Sports Watch with multi-function chronograph dial" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/xiaomi-launches-the-c86-sports-watch-with-multi-function-chronograph-dial/" rel="bookmark">Xiaomi launches the C+86 Sports Watch with multi-function chronograph dial</a></strong></p>
<p>The Helio G90 series is built on the 12nm FinFET node design. They are both octa-core processors with a combination of Arm’s Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores. They come with a clock speed of up to 2.05GHz and a large L3 cache. There is also an Arm Mali-G76 3EEMC4 GPU clocked at up to 800MHz with support for a maximum display resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. The SoC supports up to 10GB of LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-267178" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Helio G90T" width="1000" height="697" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624-300x209.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624-768x535.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624-696x485.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Xiaomi-Helio-G90T-e1564485436624-603x420.jpg 603w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></a></p>
<p>The duo indeed comes with good prospect considering the fact that they will be cheaper than Qualcomm&#8217;s SoC and as it stands, they offer better performances. Xiaomi has already indicated that it would be releasing Redmi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/30/xiaomi-announces-it-will-launch-an-helio-g90t-phone-in-india/">smartphones packing the new G90T chipset in India soon</a>.</p>

It&#8217;s an interesting prospect since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/22/asus-rog-phone-2-arrives-with-a-120hz-display-snapdragon-855-and-a-massive-6000mah-battery/">Snapdragon 855+ is a strictly high-end chip</a>, so the budget gaming market is not only wide open, but also ripe for the taking.</p>
<div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: </b><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/26/honors-smart-screen-55-inch-tv-pop-up-camera/"><b>Honor’s Smart Screen will have a 55-inch Display with a Pop-Up Camera</b></a></div></div>
<p>Well, apparently MediaTek had the exact same idea, and are acting pretty quickly. The company is set to release their brand new line of Helio G-series SoCs on July 30. The manufacturer plans to introduce the G90 SoC at an event in Shanghai, and then follow-up from there with more models in the future. It&#8217;s a pretty smart move, though we question how well a budget oriented gaming smartphone would work.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-266680" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190726_145338_681.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="690" height="1227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190726_145338_681.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190726_145338_681-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190726_145338_681-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/20190726_145338_681-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>On top of that, we&#8217;re also not entirely sure what the Helio G90 will actually be like when it launches when it comes to specs. We&#8217;ve got a leaked poster for the SoC but it doesn’t reveal much other than the fact that it is targeted at mobile gaming. Going off the name, it wouldn&#8217;t be stretch to say that it&#8217;ll be based on the Helio P90, but that&#8217;s just a simple assumption.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-266679" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="727" height="454" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-300x187.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-696x435.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/mediatek-g90-673x420.jpg 673w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>Perhaps more interesting will be seeing how the company deals with making gaming SoCs to begin with. MediaTek SoCs have never been well known for their gaming performance, and their GPUs are often weaker than the competition, though not by too much. Whether they&#8217;ll step up and give us something great or just settle for a more conventional package remains to be seen. We&#8217;re hoping it leans more towards the former.</p>

The new processor which is called the Helio G90 will be the first of a new line of mobile gaming-focused chipsets.</p>
<p>A poster of the Helio G90 has leaked but it doesn&#8217;t reveal much other than the fact that it is targeted at mobile gaming. There are rumors it will be officially announced by the end of July, hopefully, more details will surface before then.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-264476" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Helio-G90.jpg?x44794" alt="MediaTek Helio G90" width="690" height="881" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Helio-G90.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Helio-G90-235x300.jpg 235w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Helio-G90-329x420.jpg 329w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>We are also curious to know which manufacturers will adopt the Helio G90 which it launches. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> hasn&#8217;t announced a phone powered by a MediaTek processor this year. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-play/">Mi Play</a> released last year was the last Xiaomi phone with an MTK chipset. Other big-name manufacturers like <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a> have announced multiple phones with MediaTek chipsets, so one of them might be the first to announce an Helio G90-powered device.</p>
<p>Last month, MediaTek announced the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/25/mediatek-unveils-the-helio-p65-chipset-with-some-improvements-over-the-p60-p70/">Helio P65</a>, an octa-core processor with Cortex-A75 and Cortex A55 cores, making it more powerful (CPU-only) than the Helio P60 and Helio P70. However, it comes with a less powerful GPU, doesn&#8217;t support UFS 2.1 storage like the P70, and only supports single-channel LPDDR4x RAM. On the plus side, the P65 has a better NPU than the P60 and P70.</p>
<p>The Helio P65 will make its debut in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/16/alleged-vivo-s1-geekbench-listing-reveals-mediatek-helio-p65/">Indian version of the Vivo S1</a> which is reported to launch in early August.</p>
