The HiBy FD5 multifunction headphone amplifier has been unveiled. The new desktop-grade heavy-duty headphone amplifier is a powerful offering from HiBy and will be a great addition for audiophiles. The FD5 amplifier supports Bluetooth connectivity and USB connection. It also supports 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone and line outputs.

The FD5 headphone amplifier is equipped with a quad AKM4493 DAC array with a 1,503mW power output. The amplifier comes with a cyborg-inspired exterior design which will catch the fancy of audiophiles alike. It supports all desktop audio functions and offers class A and AB amplification with switching possible. The 4 x AKM4493 DAC array has dual crystal oscillators and dual Hi-Res certification. It has a transparent 1.1-inch display for navigating through the menu.

The amplifier has sufficient power to drive virtually all headphones currently on the market, with its maximum power output of 1,523mW. The maximum SNR of the model is 125dB while the dynamic range is 127 dB. The crosstalk rejection value is 106dBr, the THD+N rate is about 0.0004% and the frequency response is between 20Hz and 90kHz.

The HiBy FD5 is priced at $429 and is available for purchase directly from the HiBy official website. The price is independent of shipping costs but HiBy says shipments will commence next week. It is expected that the availability of the model will subsequently shift to retail platforms like Amazon.
