After the release of the low-end 16GB edition of the Huawei Honor 6 last month, tonight, Huawei announced in their Weibo account that the high-end 32GB edition will be released worldwide on August 12.

The Huawei Honor 6 sports a 5-inch FHD display screen. Its processor is the new Kirin 920 octa-core processor (28nm design, big.Little structure, composed of four Cortex-A7 and four Cortex-A15). In addition, it has 3GB RAM, 13mp Sony BSI 4 rear-facing camera, and 4mp 88 degree wide-angle front-facing camera. It is powered by a built-in 3100mah battery, supports dual-SIM, and runs on the Android 4.4.2-based EMUI 3.0 OS.

The Huawei Honor 6 is the world’s first cell phone to support LTE Cat 6 internet. At most, it has a download speed of 300Mbps. This phone will be released at 10:08 AM on August 12 and will cost 2299 RMB.

After releasing the Kirin 920 processor, it does not look like Huawei will be taking a rest anytime soon. According to a reversal film showed by analyst @panjiutang, Huawei will later release a 64-bit processor. The company’s first 64-bit processor should come out in 2015 and is set to face the high-end 64-bit processors of Qualcomm and Mediatek.

There is going to be one big showdown in 2015 and we hope Huawei can catch up, or maybe even beat its rivals.

The secretary-general of the Mobile China Alliance, @老杳, announced in his Weibo account today that Huawei’s HiSilicon microchip manufacturer company will release its Kirin 920 chipset and that phones installed with this chipset should hit stores by the end of the month.

According to a photo released by the secretary-general, the Kirin 920 is built on 28nm architecture and follows the big.Little octa-core chipset design. Four of its cores are Cortex A15 and the rest are Cortex-A7. Its GPU is the Mali-T628, ARM’s newest GPU which can support, at most, a screen with 2560×1600 resolution.

The Kirin 920’s biggest chip can support LTE Cat 6 and global frequency. It also supports 4G voice message using SGLTE/CSFB and VoLTE.
