Honor 10 Lite aka Youth Edition has appeared for a teardown in China and has passed it with moderate points. Its modular design approach along with strengthened and complex circuit has made it score little less for personal repair of the device.

Honor 10 Youth Edition has made a good number of sales and young folks have loved its gradient colored design. Its thin body design along with a huge 6.21-inch display has made it a perfect match for young folks in the country.

In the latest dismantling of Honor 10 Lite, we can see a purely sealed body of the Honor 10 Lite. After opening it with the apparatus, we can see its 3320 mAh battery. Its motherboard and all other hardware are embedded in a plastic shield along with a fingerprint sensor ribbon cable over it.

Honor 10 Lite uses thermal paste in moderate quantity to make few things stick together. Notably, on the motherboard, we can see its 3G/4G VoLTE modem along with eMMC internal storage and a Kirin 710 processor on the board. Further, there are GPS, FM and other hardware components for communication.

The components arrangement is quite sophisticated manner, most of the parts are attached to each other in a rigorous way. The Integrated Circuits are technically aligned precisely. In comparison with other manufacturers in China, Honor did a pretty good job of arranging all the hardware in a clean and well-versed manner.

Additionally, it features Kirin 710 processor coupled with GPU Turbo for enhanced gaming performance. In camera, there’s a 24 megapixel AI backed camera on the front side, while on the rear there are a 24 megapixel + 13-megapixel dual shooters. It is packed with a 6.21 inch Full HD display making the device look more impressive. The latest EMUI version has added a lot of AI-based features, it has evolved the device to a different level.

Well, overall the external and internal build of the device is solid. Users can repair it with little more efforts.

Last week, at a launch event in China, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched its latest smartphone — Honor 10 Lite aka Honor 10 Youth Edition. As the name suggests, the phone is a toned-down variant of the company’s Honor 10 smartphone.

While the phone was launched last week, it will now be available for purchase in China from tomorrow, i.e. 27th November through leading Chinese online retailers. As for the pricing, the base model with 4GB RAM costs 1,399 Yuan (~$202) while the 6GB RAM model with 64GB storage costs 1,699 Yuan (approx. $245).

The top-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at 1,899 Yuan (approximately $274). The Honor 10 Lite was announced in four color options — Gradient Red, Gradient Blue, Magic Night Black, and Lily Valley White.

Coming to the specifications, the Honor 10 Lite features a 6.21-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio and about 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by the company’s own Kirin 710 chipset.

Huawei‘s HiSilicon Kirin 710’s single-core performance is said to be 75% higher than that of the Kirin 659 while for multi-core performance, it offers a 68% increase in performance. It comes in either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, along with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot which enables you to further expand the phone’s storage capacity.

In terms of optics, the Honor 10 Lite comes equipped with a dual camera setup on the back, featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor stacked vertically. It has several AI-based features, including scene recognition, partition optimization, among others. There’s also a 24-megapixel front camera with artificial intelligence technology.

Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, and microUSB 2.0. The phone runs Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box with the company’s own custom interface EMUI 9 on top. It also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security.
