The Honor Magic 7 is powered by a 5650mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the Magic 7 Pro features a 5850mAh silicon-carbon battery, both offering 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. The use of silicon-carbon technology ensures higher energy density, enabling longer runtimes while maintaining sleek designs. The enhanced battery efficiency is complemented by advanced cooling systems, including stainless steel VC cooling and graphite sheets, ensuring optimal performance during intensive tasks.

Both phones run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The Magic 7 Pro distinguishes itself with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, capable of 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom, along with a 50MP main sensor and ultra-wide lens. The Magic 7 shares a similar camera setup but lacks the advanced telephoto capabilities. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, 1-120Hz LTPO OLED displays, and Magic UI 9.0, the Honor Magic 7 Series combines cutting-edge technology with superior durability, solidifying its position as a flagship contender in 2025.

Final Thoughts

Chinese smartphone makers have rapidly embraced silicon-carbon battery technology, integrating 6,000mAh and above capacities into their flagship devices, while Samsung and Apple remain limited to 5,000mAh batteries. With brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo, Realme, and Honor pushing the limits of battery efficiency, Samsung is reportedly developing its own silicon-carbon batteries, though its implementation timeline remains unclear. Apple, known for its slow adoption of new technologies, may take even longer to integrate these advancements.

While software optimizations and power-efficient chips help extend battery life, they cannot overcome the limitations of small battery capacities. As Chinese manufacturers continue to set new industry benchmarks, it is inevitable that Samsung and Apple will have to adopt silicon-carbon batteries to remain competitive. The future of smartphone battery technology is already here, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the industry catches up.

In 2024, there a bunch of smartphones with great selfie cameras that continue to push the boundaries of smartphone photography. Thanks to AI-powered enhancements and hardware improvements, these devices make capturing stunning self-portraits effortless. So here’s a look at the best selfie camera smartphones of the year.

Huawei Nova 13 Pro: Best Selfie Camera Smartphone 2024

The Huawei Nova 13 Pro claims the top spot as the best selfie camera smartphone of 2024. The Chinese brand is known for cutting edge photography on its flagships, and the Nova 13 Pro is a notable model for those that love taking selfies. It houses a 60MP main selfie camera that offers auto focus and is powered by Huawei’s XD Portrait Engine. This helps refine facial features, smoothen out skin tones, and adjust lighting as well.

Huawei Nova 13 Pro

But that’s not all, the Nova 13 Pro has a dual selfie camera setup, which includes an 8MP portrait shooter as well that offers 2x optical zoom and up to 5x digital zoom for close up portraits and macro shots. This is unique for smartphones and offers better functionality as well. So it is our pick for the best selfie camera smartphone of 2024.

Vivo S20 Pro

The Vivo S20 Pro is another strong contender in the selfie game. While most models only offer auto focus on the rear cameras, the S20 Pro brings this feature to its selfie camera as well. For selfies and video calls, you get a 50MP shooter that brings support for HDR and even 4K video recording as well.

Vivo S20 Pro

This camera promises to deliver sharp selfies. Apart from this, it is a well rounded smartphone with an AMOLED display, sleek and elegant design, and Dimensity 9300+ for flagship level performance as well.

Honor 300 Pro

The Honor 300 Pro is a great standout option like the other two models in this list. Just like the Huawei Nova 13 Pro, the 300 Pro packs a dual camera setup on the front. This already adds more layers to its photography experience. The front packs a pill shaped cutout that houses a 50MP main selfie camera that supports autofocus for sharper images.

Honor 300 Pro

Along with this shooter, you get a 2MP 3D depth sensor for improved selfie portraits. It even offers 4K resolution recording from the selfie camera.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro

Rounding out our list is the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro (Aka Xiaomi 14 Civi). Huawei’s Nova 13 Pro is our pick for the best selfie camera smartphone thanks to both front cameras being usable. But it is not alone since the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro also offers a dual camera system. But unlike the Nova 13 Pro, the Civi brings two 32MP selfie shooters.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro

One of a 32MP main wide sensor that supports auto focus, while the latter is a 32MP ultra wide angle lens with a 100 degree FOV. Apart from HDR and panorama, there is also support for 4K video recording as well. This phone excels in capturing selfies with accurate skin tones and vibrant backgrounds.

While both phones target the high-end market, a closer look at them reveals they are surprisingly similar. So this begs the question whether the Ultra model justifies its higher price.

Here’s why the Honor 300 Ultra might not make much sense when the 300 Pro offers nearly identical specifications at a significantly lower cost.

Honor 300 Ultra

Design and Build

From a design perspective, the Honor 300 Ultra and 300 Pro are indistinguishable. Both feature identical dimensions (163.8 x 75.3 x 8.2 mm) and weight (198g for the Ultra and 199g for the Pro), as well as IP65-rated dust and water resistance. They even share the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rates, 1 billion colors, and an impressive peak brightness of 4000 nits.

Honor 300 Ultra

The Ultra model does have what Honor says is a 7-layer plain leather back embossed with a subtle pattern for a more premium look. But both share the same camera module and front design, making it nearly impossible to tell them apart when placed side by side.

Performance

Under the hood, both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with an Adreno 750 GPU. They share the same CPU configuration and software experience, running Android 15 with Honor’s MagicOS 9 overlay.

Honor 300 Pro

The memory configurations are nearly identical as well, except for the Ultra offering a 1TB option with 16GB of RAM, compared to the Pro’s maximum of 512GB. Unless you absolutely need that extra storage, the Pro’s 16GB RAM + 512GB variant should suffice for most users.

Cameras

Cameras are often the deciding factor for flagship buyers, but the Ultra’s upgrades over the Pro are modest at best. Both phones sport a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP selfie camera.

The Ultra does have an edge in telephoto capabilities, offering a periscope lens with 3.8x optical zoom compared to the Pro’s 3x zoom. However, in everyday scenarios, this difference is unlikely to be significant unless you frequently shoot from a distance.

In terms of video recording, both phones offer 4K recording with gyro-EIS and OIS. The Ultra’s slightly better zoom may appeal to niche users, but for most, the Pro delivers nearly the same photographic experience.

Battery and Charging

Battery capacity and charging speeds are identical across both models. Both phones feature a 5300mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. This translates to a 59% charge in 15 minutes for wired charging, and 39% for wireless, according to Honor’s claims.

Reverse charging capabilities are also identical, making it hard to justify paying extra for the Ultra based on battery or charging features.

Rest of the features

Connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, are consistent across both models. One minor difference is in terms of fingerprint sensor technology. The Ultra uses an ultrasonic sensor, while the Pro opts for an optical one. While ultrasonic sensors are generally faster and more reliable, this is hardly a dealbreaker for most users.

Price Comparison

Here’s where things become harder to justify for the Honor 300 Ultra. The base model of the Ultra starts at 4199 yuan ($610) for 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the top-tier 16GB/1TB variant costs 4699 yuan ($680).

In contrast, the Pro offers more accessible pricing:

12/256GB: 3399 yuan ($470)

12/512GB: 3699 yuan ($510)

16/512GB: 3999 yuan ($550)

The price difference between the highest-tier Pro and the base Ultra is 200 yuan ($30), and the 16GB/1TB Ultra model adds an additional 700 yuan ($100). For most users, the Pro offers almost everything the Ultra does at a more competitive price.

What Does the Ultra Bring to the Table?

The Ultra adds three extra features to the mix:

A slightly improved telephoto lens with 3.8x optical zoom.

A 7-layer plain leather back.

The option for 1TB storage.

These upgrades are incremental rather than transformative. For users who don’t need the extra storage or telephoto capabilities, the Pro is a more sensible choice.

Conclusion: Why Pay More?

Considering these factors, the Honor 300 Ultra feels like a tough sell. While it offers a few incremental improvements over the Pro, these differences are too minor to warrant the price jump. For the vast majority of users, the Honor 300 Pro provides better value for money without compromising performance, display, or even camera quality in meaningful ways.

The Ultra seems more like a “halo” product designed to showcase exclusivity rather than delivering meaningful upgrades to earn its “Ultra” label. Unless you specifically need its niche features, the Pro remains the smarter choice.

Let’s delve into a detailed comparison to understand their differences in terms of design, display, performance, camera, battery, and pricing.

Design and Build

Honor 300 Pro features a sleek and sturdy design with a thickness of 8.2mm and weighs 199g (glass variant). It comes with a dust and splash-resistant (IP65) certification and offers color options like Rock Black, Tea Green, and Starlight Sand.

The Vivo S20 Pro is slightly more compact, with a thickness of 7.43mm and a lighter weight of 193g. It has IP64 dust and splash resistance and offers unique finishes like Phoenix Feather Gold and Jade Dew White, showcasing intricate craftsmanship. While both phones are visually striking, the Vivo S20 Pro’s design stands out with its premium textured back and curved edges.

Display

Honor 300 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 4,000 nits peak brightness, and 3840Hz PWM dimming. Meanwhile, the Vivo S20 Pro features a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED quad-curved screen with a resolution of 2800×1260 pixels.

It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a staggering peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Both displays offer excellent clarity, but Vivo’s quad-curved AMOLED display with higher brightness gives it an edge for immersive viewing.

Performance

Honor 300 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, paired with Adreno 750 GPU, offering top-tier performance for gaming and multitasking. It is available in configurations of 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

On the other hand, the Vivo S20 Pro utilizes MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9300+ SoC, coupled with Immortalis-G720 GPU. It offers similar RAM (LPDDR5X) and storage options. While both chipsets are extremely powerful, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Honor 300 Pro is slightly more optimized for most apps and games, providing better thermal efficiency under sustained workloads.

Cameras

Honor 300 Pro features a versatile triple-camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX906 sensor and OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with macro functionality, and a 50MP 3x portrait telephoto lens with OIS. For selfies and video recording, it boasts a 50MP front camera with autofocus, paired with a 3D depth sensor for advanced imaging. All lenses support 4K video recording, ensuring high-quality footage across various scenarios.

The Vivo S20 Pro also comes with a triple-camera configuration, comprising a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX921) with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP IMX882 3x periscope telephoto lens with macro functionality and CIPA4.5-level stabilization. It also boasts a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus and delivers sharp selfies and video calls, further enhanced by the Aura Light feature for improved low-light performance.

Both phones offer impressive photography and videography capabilities, but the Vivo S20 Pro stands out with its higher-resolution 50MP ultra-wide camera.

Battery and Charging

The Honor 300 Pro is equipped with a 5300mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Vivo S20 Pro, on the other hand, has a slightly bigger 5500mAh battery, with 90W wired charging. It doesn’t support wireless charging though. While Vivo offers a marginally larger battery, Honor’s faster wireless charging makes it a more versatile option.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor 300 Pro is available in multiple configurations, with the base model starting at 3399 yuan ($467) and going up to 3999 yuan ($550) for the top-tier variant.

The Vivo S20 Pro starts at the same price, 3399 yuan ($467), and goes up to 3999 yuan ($550) for its highest configuration. Pricing is nearly identical, so the decision will depend on your preference for features and design.

Conclusion

Honor 300 Pro is an excellent choice for users prioritizing wireless charging, a flat display, and a robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. On the other hand, the Vivo S20 Pro is perfect for users looking for a premium design, curved display, and exceptional camera setup. Both phones deliver flagship-grade performance, making either a compelling choice depending on individual needs.

Honor has been on a roll in 2024, unveiling compelling smartphones with advanced features and performance capabilities. The Honor 300 Pro, launched recently, serves as an upgrade to the Honor 200 Pro, which debuted earlier this year. Here’s a detailed comparison of the two devices, focusing on their design, display, performance, camera systems, battery life, and other key features.

Display

Both smartphones offer the same vibrant OLED displays. The Honor 200 Pro sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED curved display with a resolution of 2700 × 1224 pixels, delivering sharp visuals and vibrant colors. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and boasts an impressive peak brightness of 4,000 nits. It also includes 3840Hz PWM dimming, making it easy on the eyes during prolonged usage.

The Honor 300 Pro retains the same 6.78-inch curved OLED display and specifications, including 120Hz refresh rate, 2700 × 1224 pixels resolution, and 4,000 nits peak brightness along with all the other specs.

Design and Build

Honor 300 Pro features a slightly larger footprint, measuring 163.8×75.3×8.2mm, and weighs 199g in glass and 198g in leather finishes. It comes in bold colors like Rock Black, Tea Green, and Starlight Sand, emphasizing elegance with a modern twist.

In contrast, the Honor 200 Pro measures 163.3×75.2×8.2mm and weighs 199g, maintaining a sleek design. It is available in relatively conservative shades that complement its curved OLED display. The difference in design primarily lies in the refined finishes of the Honor 300 Pro, which gives it a more contemporary look.

Performance

Performance is one of the most significant areas of improvement in the Honor 300 Pro. The Honor 200 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, a high-performing chipset built on the 4nm process. It features the Adreno 735 GPU and is paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of internal storage, delivering smooth multitasking and gaming performance.

The Honor 300 Pro, on the other hand, takes things up a notch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, Qualcomm’s flagship processor, also based on the 4nm process. The chipset integrates the Adreno 750 GPU, which provides a noticeable boost in graphical performance, particularly for resource-intensive applications and gaming. The device offers configurations with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options up to 1TB, catering to users with high storage demands.

Camera

The Honor 200 Pro features a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP 2.5x portrait telephoto camera. It includes OIS for stability, 4-in-1 pixel binning, and a shape memory alloy actuator, ensuring sharp and stable images. The front setup includes dual cameras with a 50MP selfie camera along with a 3D depth camera.

The Honor 300 Pro takes the camera game further by offering a 50MP main camera with the Sony IMX906 sensor, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP 3x portrait telephoto camera. The improved telephoto lens captures more detail and performs better in low-light conditions. On the front, the 50MP camera and the 3D depth cameras continue to excel in selfies and video recording, and 4K video remains a staple for both devices.

Battery Life and Charging

The Honor 200 Pro packs a 5200mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W SuperCharge fast charging. The device can charge up to 50% in just 15 minutes, making it ideal for users on the go. Additionally, it supports 66W wireless fast charging, a feature uncommon in this segment.

The Honor 300 Pro comes with a slightly larger 5300mAh battery, offering better endurance. It retains the 100W wired SuperCharge but upgrades the wireless charging to 80W, reducing charging time significantly. The combination of larger capacity and faster charging makes the Honor 300 Pro more versatile for heavy users.

Software and Other Features

Software enhancements also set these devices apart. The Honor 200 Pro runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 out of the box, while the Honor 300 Pro introduces MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15. MagicOS 9.0 includes better AI-driven features, optimized app performance, and improved connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi 7 for faster wireless speeds.

Conclusion

The Honor 300 Pro is a clear upgrade over the Honor 200 Pro, with better performance, improved camera features, slightly enhanced battery life, and faster wireless charging.

While both devices are excellent in their own right, users seeking cutting-edge technology, particularly in photography and performance, will find the Honor 300 Pro a worthwhile investment. On the other hand, the Honor 200 Pro remains a fantastic choice for those who prioritize value and do not require the absolute latest features.

If you’re unsure whether to choose the Honor 300 or 300 Pro, you can check out our detailed comparison of these smartphones.

Honor 300 and 300 Pro: A Closer Look

Both the Honor 300 and 300 Pro draw inspiration from nature’s beauty, reflected in their sleek designs and captivating colors. The Honor 300 features an ultra-thin straight screen, while the 300 Pro boasts a more immersive hyperboloid curved display on both sides.

Camera Capabilities: Photography enthusiasts will be pleased with the 50-megapixel front camera on both models, perfect for capturing stunning selfies and group photos. On the rear, the Honor 300 sports a dual camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-mgeapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens. The Honor 300 Pro elevates the photography experience with a triple camera setup, adding a 50-megapixel telephoto lens to the mix. Both phones promise “SLR-level elegant portraits” thanks to Honor’s AI light-control engine and advanced software features like focus adjustment after capture, artistic background blurring, and frame expansion.

Display and Performance: Both models offer vibrant OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and 1.07 billion colors. The Honor 300 features a 6.7-inch straight screen, while the Pro model boasts a larger 6.78-inch quad-curved display. Under the hood, the Honor 300 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3v processor, while the Pro model utilizes the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Both phones pack a 5,300mAh battery with 100W fast charging, with the Pro model additionally supporting 80W wireless charging and Wi-Fi 7.

Honor 300 Ultra: The Premium Flagship

The Honor 300 Ultra takes the series to new heights with its luxurious design, featuring a 7-layer plain leather back and a sophisticated aesthetic. Available in classic black and white, the Ultra maintains a slim profile and comfortable weight.

Camera Prowess: The Ultra boasts a triple rear camera setup similar to the Pro model, but with a key distinction – a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with optical image stabilization. This allows for an impressive 3.8X optical zoom and a remarkable 100X digital zoom, making it ideal for capturing distant subjects with clarity. Honor claims the 300 Ultra has its “strongest telephoto portrait camera” to date.

Display and Performance: The Ultra mirrors the Pro model with a 6.78-inch OLED quad-curved display, offering the same high refresh rate, vibrant colors, and eye-care features. It is powered by a slightly downclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, optimized for sustained performance and thermal efficiency.
Honor 300 series: Which one to choose?

At present, Honor has not released any information about the global launch of the Honor 300 series. While the standard and Pro models are expected to debut globally next year, there’s no clarity on whether the Ultra model will also be made available in markets outside of China.

The three distinct models of the Honor 300 series offer a smartphone for every type of user. The Honor 300 is a great option for budget-conscious consumers seeking a stylish and capable device.
Honor‘s upcoming 300 series is set to launch on December 2. The company has already officially revealed the design language of the Honor 300 Ultra while the promotional images of the standard model were leaked previously.

Now the alleged Honor 300 Pro has surfaced on Geekbench. We previously knew the phone was going to use last year’s flagship Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chip, but the listing reveals some unexpected insights. Let’s take a look at the clock speeds first.

Details of Honor 300 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chip

The model uses a configuration with one 3.05 GHz X4 super core, five 2.96 GHz A720 large cores, and two 2.04 GHz A520 medium cores.

In contrast, the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen3 configuration includes a 3.3 GHz X4 core, three 3.2 GHz A720 cores, and two 3.0 GHz A720 cores, with two 2.3 GHz A520 cores. The GPU is the same Adreno 750 in both variants.

So all the CPU cores on the alleged Honor 300 Pro have significantly lower clock speeds than the regular configuration of the chip. Remember the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a flagship chipset from last year and can handle almost all the heavy titles, while the Honor 300 series belongs to the mid-range segment.

This is likely that the phone does not pack the best available cooling solution (which might be necessary for the peak clock speeds of the 8 Gen 3 chip) and the downclocking is likely intended to hit the sweet spot between performance and thermal management for the device.

How do the scores compare and what to expect?

The Honor 300 Pro test model is equipped with 16GB of memory and runs on Android 15. The device achieved a single-core score of 2141 points and a multi-core score of 6813 points.

For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 Pro, which also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, has a single-core average score of 2066 points and a multi-core average score of 6556 points, with some peaks reaching up to 2300 points and 6900 points, respectively.

It’s important to note that in most real-world usage scenarios, smartphones rarely hit the peak clock speeds of their processors. Geekbench measures the peak performance of the chip in a controlled environment, but in everyday tasks, users are unlikely to see a significant difference in performance compared to higher-clocked models.

Thus, the downclocking of the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 in the Honor 300 Pro may not result in a noticeable performance drop for typical users. Instead, it will likely offer a more power-efficient, thermally stable experience, making it a good choice for users who want strong performance without the drawbacks of overheating.

The new device is available for pre-order on the official website, showcasing a sleek and modern design, and is set to come in two stylish color options: Camellia White and Ink Rock Black. The Honor 300 series is set for launch on December 2.

Honor 300 Ultra design

The Honor 300 Ultra draws heavy design inspiration from the Pro version, with a focus on sleek aesthetics and premium build quality. On the front, the device features a curved screen with a centered punch-hole camera (just like the Pro model) that enhances the visual appeal and provides a more immersive display.

On the rear, the Ultra model sports a triple-camera setup. While the Pro model also packs a similar lens setup, the lens deco is highlighted by a distinctive red branding, giving it a unique and high-end look. This design language signals that the Honor 300 Ultra will cater to users who prioritize both performance and style.

Key specifications and what to expect

In terms of performance, the Honor 300 Ultra is equipped with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, ensuring smooth and efficient performance for demanding tasks, gaming, and multitasking. The device also supports advanced biometric security with 3D ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking, adding an extra layer of convenience for users.

The screen is a 1.5K curved display made from durable Juxiong glass. It is available in two memory configurations: 12GB RAM with 512GB storage and 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage, catering to both casual users and those who need extensive storage for apps, media, and files.

For photography enthusiasts, the Honor 300 Ultra is equipped with a rear triple-camera setup, including a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, designed to offer advanced features like “SLR-level elegant portrait” photography and AI-driven image enhancements such as AI free image expansion.

Honor has been teasing its upcoming 300 series phones for a while, and now we finally have an official launch date for China, December 2nd.

The announcement comes just after several rival launches. For instance, Oppo will launch the Reno 13 series on November 25 (today), Redmi has an event for its K80 line on November 27, and Vivo will unveil the S20 series on November 28 in China.

Honor’s lineup includes three models — the vanilla 300, 300 Pro, and 300 Ultra. While all three share a similar rear design, the 300 Pro and Ultra have more in common with each other.

What you can expect

The latter features a curved screen with a pill-shaped cutout on top for two selfie cameras. Honor 300, on the other hand, has a flat panel with a single hole-punch cutout.

The Pro and Ultra also share a triple camera setup on the back while the vanilla model has a dual-camera system, likely led by a 50MP main sensor.

Honor 300 Pro

As for the performance, rumors suggest a Snapdragon 7 series processor for the Honor 300, powered by a 5300mAh battery with 100W charging support. And despite its sizable battery, the phone measures just 6.97mm in thickness. It will come in four configurations: 8/256GB, 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 16/512GB.

The Pro and Ultra models may not match the slim profile of the vanilla 300, but they are expected to offer wireless charging as an added convenience. The wired charging remains the same at 100W, and so is the 5300mAh battery. Both models will likely be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

Apart from this, we know that the standard model will be available in Luyan Purple, Chaka Green, Yulong Snow, and Cangshan Gray shades. Meanwhile, the Pro and Ultra models are expected to come in at least White and Black options.

Honor China’s online store has already listed the standard and Pro models but has not yet officially listed the 300 Ultra. Reliable leaker Digital Chat Station has shared the leaked renders of the Ultra model. Another tipster has leaked the battery sizes, charging capabilities, and dimensions of both smartphones.

Honor 300 Ultra

The above images give the first look at the design of the Honor 300 Ultra. As can be seen, the device features a quad-curved screen with a pill-shaped cutout for the dual selfie camera system. On the back, it features the same camera module as the Honor 300 and 300 Pro. It houses a triple camera setup, which includes a periscope telephoto camera and an LED flash. In comparison, the Honor 300 has a dual-camera system and the 300 Pro has a triple-camera setup featuring a telephoto camera.

The Honor 300 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, making it the most powerful phone in the 300 series. It will pack a 5,300mAh battery and support 100W fast charging and wireless charging. The leak does not provide information about the 300 Ultra’s measurements and weight. Also, it is yet to be confirmed whether it will be available in other shades apart from white and black.

Honor 300 and Honor 300 Pro

The same source reveals that the Honor 300 and Honor 300 Pro will feature a 5,300mAh battery with 100W rapid charging support. While the Pro variant will support wireless charging, the standard model will lack support for it.

The leak has no information about the chipset that powers both smartphones. A recent leak claimed that the standard model will feature a Snapdragon 7-series chipset. It will be an ultra-thin phone measuring 6.97mm in thickness and it will weigh 181 grams. On the other hand, the 300 Pro will measure 7.7mm in thickness and weigh 187 grams.

Honor has officially revealed the appearance of its upcoming Honor 300 Pro, adding to the anticipation for the 300 series. The Pro variant is available in three storage configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB, catering to users with varied storage needs.

This comes after a company official teased the slick form factor of the base model. The Honor 300 offers a flat-screen design and comes in five unique colors: Luyan Purple, Moyan Black, Chaka Green, Cangshan Gray, and Yulong Snow. The official emphasized its thin profile, highlighting the 6.97mm thickness of the base model, which is “thinner than a straw.”

What to expect from Honor 300 series?

The Honor 300 series is shaping up to be a significant step forward for the brand. Leaks suggest a sharper 1.5K resolution for the series, moving beyond the FHD+ displays of its predecessor. Powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Honor 300 Pro and Pro+ are expected to deliver exceptional performance. Meanwhile, the standard model is expected to adopt a Snapdragon 7 series processor. For context, last year’s Honor 200 runs on the 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip.

The series is also said to support 100W wired charging, as confirmed by 3C certification. Wireless charging is also expected, at least with the Pro models. The overall user experience is also expected to be further elevated with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an upgrade from the optical sensors of last year’s models.

Four devices under the Honor 300 lineup have reportedly passed 3C certifications in China, hinting at the inclusion of a budget-friendly ‘Lite’ or ‘Smart’ model alongside the new Pro+ model. Notably the Pro+ model is expected to feature a triple-lens camera with a distinctive layout, promising an appealing look alongside cutting-edge photography capabilities.

Honor has officially confirmed that its upcoming Honor 300 series will feature a flat-screen design, dispelling doubts about the phone’s design and appearance. It contrasts with the curved displays that have become more popular in recent years.

This announcement was made by Jiang Hairong, the CMO of Honor Terminal Co., Ltd., in response to inquiries from Chinese netizens. The Honor 300 series is expected to be a budget-friendly lineup, catering to users seeking compact and affordable smartphones without compromising on essential features.

The company also mentioned that the Honor 300 series will boast an ultra-thin, small straight screen, making it one of the thinnest phones in its class. This design choice reflects a preference for simplicity and practicality, which should appeal to users who prefer a more traditional, compact smartphone form factor.

What we know so far

The Honor 300 series is shaping up to be a solid performer, offering a range of configurations to suit different user needs. The base model, the Honor 300, will come with a Snapdragon 7 series processor, providing a good balance between performance and efficiency for everyday tasks. It will also support 100W fast wired charging.

The Honor 300 Pro takes things up a notch with a much more capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, ensuring flagship-level performance for gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications. This model will feature a large 1.5K quad-curved screen, ensuring a more immersive viewing experience.

Honor 200

In addition to the impressive wired charging speed, the 300 Pro will also support wireless charging, adding a layer of convenience. The Pro model is expected to come with a 50MP triple-camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP vertical telephoto lens, and a dual 50MP front-facing camera, which will appeal to photography enthusiasts.

The Honor 300 Pro+ model features the same Snapdragon 8 Gen3 processor, a 1.5K display, and 100W wired and wireless charging. However, it will include a 50MP periscope camera for enhanced zooming capability, rounding out its premium feature set.

All three models in the Honor 300 series are expected to include ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint sensors, a rare feature in this price range, which offers a faster and more reliable unlocking experience.

All models have already been added to China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) database, indicating that the release is imminent.

Looks like Honor isn’t wasting any time. Hot on the heels of their flagship Magic 7 series launch, rumors about their upcoming mid-range 300 series are already surfacing online.

Expected to launch before the end of the year, details about the new lineup have started appearing, thanks to a post from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Chinese social media platform.

According to the tipster, the Honor 300 series may move past the FHD+ displays of the 200 series, possibly featuring a sharper 1.5K resolution. It might also run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

The leak also confirms earlier information from 3C certifications: the 300 series will support 100W wired charging. Wireless charging might also return, and security could get a boost with a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded in the display.

These specs likely apply to the top-tier model, possibly the Honor 300 Pro or Pro+. The previous 200 series included various models, from the standard 200 to the budget-friendly Lite and entry-level Smart. The 300 series will probably offer similar options.

In fact, four models in the lineup have recently received 3C certifications in China, with model numbers AMP-AN00, AMP-AN10, AMM-AN00, and AMG-AN00. While the exact names of these devices are still unknown, they’re likely all part of the Honor 300 series.

Additionally, a previous rumor suggests a more compact design for the standard version, while a leaked render of the Pro model hints at a distinctive rear camera layout, a triple-lens setup, and a curved display with minimal bezels.

With the launch window supposedly approaching, we can expect more details to surface in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you’re looking for a top-tier option from Honor, don’t forget about the recently launched Magic 7 series, featuring the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro models.

Honor launched the Honor 200 Pro towards the end of May this year with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. While it’s only been slightly over two months, the successor has already entered the conversation. A rendering of the Honor 300 Pro has surfaced on the internet that also speculates some of the specifications of the device.

As you can see from the image, the phone is expected to come with a uniquely designed camera module, that includes three lenses and a flash module. On the front, the phone packs a curved display. Upon closer inspection, you will see that the front includes a dual-camera setup for the front, just like its predecessor. Notably, the predecessor also comes with a similar curved display with narrow and almost symmetrical bezels.

According to the render, the back panel will have similar stripes as the predecessor. However, the branding seems to be relatively well-pronounced this time.

Speaking of the internals, here are some guesses made by netizens. The camera setup is expected to include a 50MP main sensor and support 50X zoom with a periscope telephoto. Speaking of performance, the phone is expected to equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and pack a 5300mAh battery inside, that will support 100W wired and 66W wireless fast charging.

On the front, the phone will have the second-generation Honor Oasis eye protection screen with zero-risk dual ultra-high frequency dimming. It is also expected to be IP68 dust and water-resistant and support NFC and IR blaster for remote control functionality.

While the information above is rumored, we can take a look at the predecessor to get an idea of what to expect. The Honor 200 Pro comes with a 6.78 (1224 x 2700) OLED display that goes up to 4000 nits in peak brightness. It was launched with MagicOS 8, which is based on Android 14. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip is paired with 12GB or 16GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB or 1TB storage. The phone offers a 50MP main, 50MP 2.5X telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide on the back. There is a 5200 mAh battery inside, which also supports 100W wired and 66W wireless charging.
