Earlier this year, Honor launched its latest Honor 50 series of smartphones which includes three models — Honor 50, 50 Pro, and 50 SE. Now, the Honor 50 SE is getting a new model in China that comes packed with 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

This new memory variant is priced at 2,699 yuan which is approximately $421 and is now available for pre-order in the country. Apart from the RAM and storage capacity, everything else remains the same.

The Honor 50 SE smartphone features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ ultra-narrow-sided full-view display that offers a 94.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, 120Hz high refresh rate, and 240Hz high touch sampling rate.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor and comes with LPDDR5 memory and UFS. 3.1 storage specifications. Prior to the launch of this new 12GB RAM model, the phone maxed out at 8GB RAM.

In the camera department, the smartphone uses the iconic ring design inspired by Rollei’s double-reflex cameras. It is equipped with a 100-megapixel ultra-clear primary camera and a 4-megapixel macro lens with an F/2.4 aperture and a 112-degree ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front side, there’s a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.

The phone is running the Android operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Magic UI 4.2 on top. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging technology which the company claims can charge the phone up to 75% in 20 minutes.

Honor recently launched the first phones after the separation from Huawei. The Honor 50 series is currently composed of three models: Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 SE. They are the first after the ban which will come in the global market with Google Mobile Services and Play Store out of the box since Honor is no longer under Huawei. Despite there is a Pro version in the trio, all of these devices are mid-rangers. That is why there is a lot of confusion around their specifications. This comparison between the new devices will hopefully make things clear.

Honor 50 vs Honor 50 SE vs Honor 50 Pro

Design

The Honor 50 Pro (on the left) is the handset with the highest screen-to-body ratio and the most beautiful one. It has an amazing finish for the rear side which you can rarely find on midrange phones. The pill-shaped dual punch hole is not the max in terms of beauty, but for the rest, the Pro variant is definitely more attractive. With the vanilla Honor 50, you can get a more compact design, as well as a thinner and lighter body. That is why it remains very interesting.

Display

The best displays belong to the vanilla Honor 50 and its Pro variant. We are talking about OLED panels which can show up to one billion colors with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution. The only important difference between these two panels is the diagonal: the vanilla version is 6.57 inches, while the Pro version is 6.72 inches. The Honor 50 SE has an even wider 6.78-inch display, but it is an IPS panel that is way inferior compared to its two internal rivals.

Hardware/Software

The Honor 50 and the Honor 50 Pro come with the same hardware department including a Snapdragon 778G mobile platform, up to 256 GB of internal storage, and up to 8 GB of RAM. It is an upper-midrange hardware department which is great for every scenario, but it is still far from flagships. Honor 50 SE is an upper-midrange phone too, but its Dimensity 900 chipset is slightly inferior to the Snapdragon 778G. The memory configurations are the same. The phones run Android 11 customized by Magic UI with Google Mobile Services out of the box for the global market.

Camera

Honor 50, 50 Pro, and 50 SE all come with a 108 MP main camera paired with an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. With the Honor 50 and 50 Pro, you also get an additional 2 MP depth sensor which is not present on the SE variant. They are midrange camera phones. The Honor 50 Pro has a better front camera department including a 32 MP main camera and an ultrawide sensor with a 12 MP resolution: the front department is the reason why it wins the camera comparison.

Battery

With the vanilla Honor 50, you can get a bigger battery with a 4300 mAh capacity and a longer battery life, while Honor 50 Pro supports faster charging with a power of 100W.

For now, the Honor 50 series is only available in Asia. The vanilla version starts at about $555/€470, Honor 50 SE begins at $369/€310, and Honor 50 Pro costs $689/€580 in its base variant. There are only marginal differences between Honor 50 and 50 Pro: despite the latter has faster charging and better front cameras, I would go for the vanilla version due to its bigger battery. Last month, Honor launched its latest Honor 50 series of smartphones which includes Honor 50, 50 Pro, and 50 SE, all of which come with an almost similar design. The Honor 50 and 50 Pro have already been on sale but today, the Honor 50 SE goes on sale.

The Honor 50 SE will go on sale today for the first time in China and the pricing starts at 2,399 yuan which is approximately $370. It will be interesting to see how the device performs in terms of sales as the other two models generated sales worth 500 million yuan within a minute last week when they went on sale.

The smartphone features a 6.78-inch ultra-narrow-sided full-view screen with a screen frame of only 1.1mm and offers a 94.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. it supports a 120Hz high refresh rate and 240Hz high touch sampling rate, which can present an extremely smooth visual and control experience.

For the camera department, the Honor 50 SE uses the iconic ring design inspired by  Rollei’s double-reflex cameras. It is equipped with a 100-megapixel ultra-clear main camera and a 4-megapixel macro lens with an F/2.4 aperture and a 112-degree ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front side, there’s a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.

The device is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor which is based on TSMC’s latest 6nm process, offering more advantages in performance and power consumption. The processor also supports a new generation of LPDDR5 memory and UFS. 3.1 storage specifications, which provide good performance output. It comes with 8GB RAM while there are 128GB and 256GB storage options.

The handset is running the Android operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Magic UI 4.2 on top. The phone has a 4,000mAh battery and comes with support for 66W fast charging technology.

The 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model of the Honor 50 SE is priced at 2,399 yuan which is about $370. The top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage costs 2,699 yuan which roughly converts to $417.

The Honor 50 SE that has a model number of JLH-AN00 has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking site today. Moreover, another unknown Honor phone with model number NTH-AN00 has also appeared on Geekbench (via). Both phones have were spotted at China’s 3C and TENAA certification sites in the recent past.

The TENAA listings of phones have not revealed any information on their specs. However, their 3C listings have revealed that they carry support for 5G connectivity, and they may debut a 66W charger. The Geekbench listing of both phones has revealed that they are equipped with 8 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS.

MediaTek’s MT6877V/ZA chip that fuels the JLH-AN00 phone is the Dimensity 900 chip, but there is no word on the chip that powers the NTH-AN00. A recent leak by tipster Ishan Agarwal revealed that the Honor 50 SE is driven by the Dimensity 900 chipset. Hence, it can be said that the NTH-AN00 smartphone is the Honor 50 SE. It is unclear whether JLH-AN00 is the Honor 50 phone or the rumored Honor X20, which is expected to debut a few weeks after the Honor 50 series.

The Honor 50 SE is speculated to arrive with a 6.78-inch FHD+ LCD screen, a 4,000mAh battery, a 16-megapixel front camera, and 100-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple rear cameras. The Honor 50 series that includes the Honor 50, 50 SE, and 50 Pro will be made official tomorrow through a launch event in China.

On June 16, Honor will be announcing the much-awaited Honor 50 series of smartphones. A new leak by 91mobiles with reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal as the source has revealed the entire specs of the Honor 50 lineup. Since the leak has no information on the rumored Snapdragon 888 powered Honor 50 Pro+, it seems that the company may not launch it on June 16.

Honor 50 5G and Honor 50 Pro 5G specifications

The new leak reveals that the Honor 50 5G has a 6.57-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. On the other side, the Honor 50 Pro has a larger 6.72-inch OLED FHD+ screen with a cutout for a 32-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual selfie camera system. The Honor 50 measures 159.96 x 73.76 x 7.78mm and weighs 175gs, while the Honor 50 Pro 5G’s dimensions 163.46 x 74.66 x 8.05mm, and it weighs 187 grams.

The Honor 50 and 50 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 778G SoC. The vanilla model has a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W rapid charging, whereas the Pro model gets a smaller 4,000mAh battery with 100W fast charge support. The leak claims that it takes only 25 minutes to fully charge the Pro model. Both phones feature the same quad-camera system, which comprises of a 108-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Honor 50 SE 5G specifications

The Honor 50 SE has a 6.78-inch LCD FHD+ screen with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera setup of the phone has a 100-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It features the Dimensity 900 chip and a 4,000mAh battery that supports 66W rapid charging. The Honor 50 trio is loaded with Magic UI 4.2 and possibly Android 11 OS.

Honor will be announcing the Honor 50 series of smartphones on June 16 in China. Today, the company released a new poster to reveal the rear design of the smartphone. At the same time, a tipster from China shared a Geekbench listing of the device.

As seen in the poster, a popular Chinese actor and model named Gong Jun will endorse the Honor 50 series in China. Another poster, which showcases the color variants of the Honor 50 series is now doing rounds on social platforms. It reveals that the lineup will be available in black, green, pink, and silver colors.

The poster also reveals that the Honor 50 lineup will come with a 100-megapixel camera. It will also feature a curved screen and support for 100W fast charging.

The handset has appeared with its RNA-AN00 model number on the Geekbench benchmarking site. The listing reveals that it runs on Android 11 OS, and it is equipped with 8 GB of RAM as well as a Qualcomm chip that has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. While the listing does not explicitly mention the name of the chip, the tipster claimed that it is fuelled by the Snapdragon 778G SoC.

Speculations have it that the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will be equipped with Snapdragon 778G. The former may come with a 50-megapixel main camera and 66W charging, while the latter may come with a 100-megapixel camera and 100W charging. The lineup is also expected to include two more phones such as Honor 50 SE and Honor 50 Pro+. The latter is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, but it is not clear whether it will be announced on June 16.

Honor is all set to announce the Honor 50 series of smartphones in China on June 16. Reports have revealed that the series will offer three devices such as the Honor 50 SE, Honor 50, and Honor 50 Pro. GSMArena has shared high-resolution renders of the Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro to showcase the rear appearance of both smartphones.

The Honor 50 has a gradient blue-colored back features a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The black model that has a 108-megapixel camera is the Honor 50 Pro with an f/1.8 aperture.

Both phones have two cameras in the second ring. Unfortunately, there is no word on their configurations. In the previous month, live images of an alleged Honor 50 series phone had appeared online. It featured the main camera in the first ring and its second ring had a periscope zoom lens along with another camera. There is a possibility that those images could be fake, or they may belong to the Honor 50 Pro+ handset.

The publication claims that the Honor 50 lineup will focus on vlogging. Hence, it is expected to offer top-notch videography features. As far as specs are concerned, the rumor mill is yet to share any information about the Honor 50 series.

Probably, the Honor 50 will debut as the world’s first phone powered by the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform. Recently, two Honor phones with model numbers NTH-AN00, JLH-AN00, and RNA-AN00/RNA-TN00 were recently seen at the 3C certification site of China. The RNA model was seen with a 100W charger, whereas the other two models were spotted with a 66W charger. These handsets may belong to the Honor 50 series.

The Honor 50 series will launch on June 16 in China. Prior to this announcement, we have heard that there will be two devices – the Honor 50 and the Honor 50 Pro. It turns out there is a third model called the Honor 50 SE.

The info comes from Teme (@RODENT950), who is known for his Huawei and Honor-related leaks. A tweet posted earlier today revealed that the Honor 50 series will include the Honor 50 SE, the Honor 50, and the Honor 50 Pro.

Unfortunately, the specs of the device are not known nor do we have an idea of what it will look like. However, the Honor 50 SE should be a sort of Lite model priced under the Honor 50.

The Honor 50 Pro will come with a Snapdragon 778G processor while the Honor 50 is expected to come with a Dimensity 1200 processor. There is a possibility that the SE model will have a MediaTek chipset too. All three phones should run Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.
