Several reports have claimed that Honor is working on the Honor 80 Pro’s flat display edition for the Chinese market. The device appears to be available for purchase in China’s offline stores. A spec sheet of the phone, which mentions the price of the device, has been shared by tipster WHYLAB on Weibo. The device is aimed at the offline market in the country and is said to go on sale starting Jan. 6.

It is equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Recent leaks and reports have revealed that Honor is working on a new Honor 80 Pro smartphone. So far, the only difference between this upcoming device and the Honor 80 Pro, which launched a couple of months ago, is the display type.

Now, the Honor 8 Pro flat-screen variant has appeared on Geekbench, revealing its performance while also confirming some of its specifications.

Going by the details provided by the listing, the Honor 80 Pro Flat-screen bears the model number ANB-AN00. It has an octa-core SoC with 4 Cores at 1.80 GHz, 3 Cores @ 2.50 GHz, and one core at 3.00 GHz. This combined with the motherboard codename “taro”, it is pretty clear that this chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm chipset manufactured by Samsung foundries.

The listing also reveals that the device has 12GB of RAM and runs an Android 12-based operating system. Coming to the benchmark results, the phone has scored 1215 points in the single-core test and 3960 in the multi-core test of Geekbench 5.

Honor recently launched two of its latest smartphones in the market — Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro. Now, the company is expected to launch a new model in the lineup, dubbed Honor 80 Pro Flat Display.

While the launch date for this new smartphone isn’t known, it is expected to go official this month. Now, ahead of the launch, the phone’s specifications and pricing details have leaked online.

A new leak coming from China confirms that the Honor 80 Pro Flat Display model will be priced at 3,599 yuan in the country, which roughly converts to $522. The pricing is for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model and is speculated to go on sale from 6th January.

Coming to the specifications, leaks indicate that the smartphone will feature a 6.67-inch OLED centered punch-hole flexible flat display, offering a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Honor recently held a mega launch event in China to announce devices, such as the Honor 80 GT, Pad V8 Pro tablet, Band 7, Smart Body Scale 3, and Router X4 Pro. Reports claimed that the company would also announce a flat display version of the Honor 80 Pro. However, the company did not unveil it. A Chinese leaker has claimed that the device will debut by early January in the home market. He added that the phone will be aimed at the offline market in the country.

To those who don’t know, Honor unveiled the Honor 80 SE, Honor 80, and Honor 80 Pro in November in China. The Pro model features a curved-edge display with a pill-shaped camera cutout at top-centre position, which houses a 50-megapixel dual selfie camera unit.

Coming back to the new leak, the tipster further said that the Honor 80 Pro’s flat display variant’s specifications are quite similar to the original Honor 80 Pro. Apart from featuring a flat screen, the device will come equipped with a different primary camera.
