Honor is all set to launch its first smartphone of the year — Honor 8A, which is the successor of Honor 7A launched in April last year. The company has announced through microblogging platform Weibo that the phone launch will take place on 8th January.

While the company has not revealed any information related to the smartphone, the phone’s teaser poster shared by the company hints at what to expect from the Honor 8A.

The smartphone will come with a 6.09-inch display having a waterdrop notch, ensuring higher screen-to-body ratio. It is said to come with an octa-core processor, which is likely going to be the company’s own Kirin 710 chipset.

It will pack 64GB of internal storage and the poster also hints that the phone will come with dual speakers for an immersive sound experience.

The Honor 8A was recently spotted on TENAA, which revealed some of the phone’s specifications. The smartphone will come with 6.09-inch HD+ display with 1560 x 720 pixels screen resolution and will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz.

The phone will pack 3GB of RAM and will be available in two internal storage options — 32GB and 64GB. Both models will come with a microSD card slot, allowing users to further expand the storage capacity. As for the camera, it will feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.

It is expected to be running Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s EMUI 9 custom interface on top. The phone will be powered by a 2,920mAh battery. As per the reports, it will be available in Black, Blue, Gold, and Red colors.
