Last week, Honor unveiled its latest performance-oriented smartphone — Honor 90 GT. The device succeeds the Honor 80 GT from last year and it was previously rumored as Honor 100 GT.

The main highlight of the handset is its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Considered one of the best Qualcomm mobile chips to date, it delivers superb performance with lower power consumption.

Yesterday, the product went on sale. Following that, the brand has now revealed the prices of its spare parts.

Just like every other phone, the most expensive part of the Honor 90 GT is its motherboard. It starts at ¥1,899 (~$265) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and goes all the way up to ¥2,679 (~$375) for the 24GB + 1TB version.

On the other hand, the cheapest parts are the 16MP selfie camera and the 12MP ultrawide camera. They are priced at ¥149 (~$20) each.

The Honor 90 GT flaunts a 6.7-inch centered punch-hole flat OLED display with minimal bezels all around. The screeen offers a resolution of 2664 x 1200 pixels (1.5K), 120Hz refresh rate, and 3840Hz PWM dimming.

Under the hood, the smartphone houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. To keep the thermals under control, it uses a 3D vapor chamber cooling system.

Just hours before the official launch in China, Honor is not stopping to tease the primary features of the smartphone. With yesterday’s revelation of three color variants, including GT Blue, Black, and Cream, the company today confirmed a lot of features via posters. The smartphone will ship with the Sony IMX906 50MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), like present on the Honor 100, which launched a while ago.

The Honor 90 GT will house a 5000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. It will succeed the Honor 80 GT with improved specifications and design. In another teaser, the company revealed the presence of a C1 chip, which will improve the device’s connectivity. Honor is gearing up to launch new GT series smartphones in China. The brand is expected to position these devices as a separate lineup.

We have been hearing about these performance-focused phones for quite a while now. But still, we don’t have much info on them.

Today, a render of the upcoming Honor 90 GT emerges on the internet. Let’s go through its appearance.

The Honor 90 GT was accidentally listed online for pre-order earlier today. Though the brand has taken down the listing, netizens and media houses have managed to save the image of the handset.

The original render is different from the one that leaked a couple of days back. The device will feature a flat frame design.

The frame will be shiny but it appears to be made of plastic rather than metal. The rectangular camera island on the rear will include two sensors and an LED flashlight.

Following the launch of the Honor 100 series last month, the company is reportedly turning its attention to the Honor 90 GT. Rumors also suggest another GT-series phone, the Honor X50 GT, is in the works. Both devices are expected to be performance-centric phones, competing against the likes of Redmi’s K70 and K70e. A recent leak on Weibo has now revealed the possible design of the Honor 90 GT.

Honor 90 GT Design

The leaked image showcases a design that’s a significant departure from the Honor 80 GT. The phone appears in a striking purple-ish and gold color scheme with a matte finish.

The back panel features a rectangular camera module housing three cameras and an LED flash. The module itself is slightly raised, and the camera rim has a stylish golden accent. The phone also has flat sides, and the right side is adorned with stylish golden stripes, adding a touch of aesthetics.

While the leak offers a good look at the phone’s back, it doesn’t reveal the front.

Honor is gearing up to launch new GT series smartphones in China. One of the brand executives just teased the arrival of these devices last week.

As per leaks, there will be two devices, namely Honor 90 GT (previously Honor 100 GT) and Honor X50 GT. These phones will be centered around performance.

We only know a few tidbits about these products. Today, a couple more crucial details have emerged. Let’s go through them.

According to Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Honor 90 GT and Honor X50 GT will come with up to 24GB RAM. They will be the brand’s first smartphones to offer this huge amount of RAM.

Further, the tipster claims that the main camera of these handsets will have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). He also adds that why will be powered by three different chipsets and will flaunt an eye-catching display.

Previously, the same source had revealed that the 90 GT and X50 GT will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon 888 chips, respectively. But this is the first time we are hearing about three chipsets.

In December 2022, Honor unveiled the Honor G80 GT phone in China after the Honor 80 series, which went official in November. The company is now reportedly working on the Honor 90 GT smartphone for the Chinese market. Here is when the next GT-series Honor phone will debut on the market.

A Chinese tipster revealed that Honor’s next GT-branded phone, dubbed the Honor 90 GT, will be unveiled by the end of December. Unfortunately, the leaker did not say anything about the specifications of the device.

Honor 80 GT

To recall, the Honor 80 GT debuted as a flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. In fact, the device was similar to the Honor 80 Pro in some respects. Both smartphones featured the same chipset, battery, and charging capabilities. The device will run on Magic OS 7.2-based Android 13.

Like the Honor 90 Pro, the 90 GT is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery with 90W charging support. There is a possibility that being a GT variant, the 90 GT’s top variant may offer 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
