Last week, Honor launched its latest budget smartphone in the Indian market — Honor 9N, which is the rebranded version of the Honor 9i (2018) launched in China last month. The smartphone will go on sale in India tomorrow for the first time and will be available for purchase via flash sales exclusively on Flipkart and HiHonor website.

The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model is priced at Rs. 11,999, which roughly converts to $175. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model costs Rs. 13,999 (approx. $204) while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version is priced at 17,999 (approximately $262).

However, only two models with 4GB RAM will be available tomorrow on Flipkart and HiHonorStore at 12:00 PM IST, in two color options — Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue. As for the launch offers, there’s a Reliance Jio cashback worth Rs. 2,200 and 100GB additional data, along with up to Rs. 1,200 Myntra voucher.

The Honor 9N boasts a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, 2.5D curved glass, and 19:9 aspect ratio. As is the current trend, the device features a notch on top of the display. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 659 octa-core processor with Mali T830-MP2 graphics processor.

The 3GB RAM model has 32GB of internal storage while the 4GB RAM variant comes in two options for onboard storage — 64GB and 128GB. There’s also a microSD card slot that enables users to further expand the storage capacity up to 256GB. The smartphone will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the smartphone features a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Both of them have an aperture of f/2.2 and supports phase detection autofocus. On the front side, there’s also a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.

There’s a fingerprint sensor on the back panel and the phone also supports Direct Face Unlock. It also has Game Suite that enables users to play games without interruptions of notifications and calls. The device has Quick Payments support via Paytm and the Party Mode is coming through a new update that enables to sync music with up to 7 devices.

The phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and with a layer of the company’s own custom interface EMUI 8.0. The company has also promised to roll out GPU Turbo to the smartphone in the future through an over-the-air update.

Honor has recently introduced the Purple Fantasy color variant for the Honor 9i in China. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed another color variant through its Weibo account. The Honor 9i Green Jasper color variant will be available for buying from tomorrow (July 5) in the home country.

According to the official poster, the official sales of Green Jasper Honor 9i will begin at 10:08AM (local time) tomorrow. This model will be arriving with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM and it will be priced at 1,399 Yuan (~$211). The recently introduced Honor 9i Purple Fantasy also features the same configuration and pricing. These two color variants will be selling alongside the Magic Night Black and Charm Sea Blue color variants that are already available in the market.

The Honor 9i is budget-friendly smartphone from the company that comes with a notched display design to offer higher screen space to the user. It houses a 5.84-inch IPS LCD screen that produces 19:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The backside of the phone is made out of 2.5D glass.

Huawei is reportedly cooking up a launch event in India scheduled for next month. The company s said to be planning an India launch for the Honor 9i but there is a catch. The tech giant is rumoured to be planning to launch the Honor 9i with a new moniker. According to the source, the premium mid-range model will launch as Honor 9x in India.

The source also hinted that the device will hit the Asian country mid-July and will be priced around Rs 15,000 (around $220). The company is expected to send out invites for the product launch event in the coming days. We can’t independently verify this rumour but it isn’t unusual for Huawei to bring its product to a new market bearing a different name. It has been done in the past like the Huawei P20 Lite which launched as Nova 3e in Malaysia and a couple of other markets. However, the specifications aren’t expected to change.

As a reminder, the new Honor 9i adopts a 5.84-inch notch display with full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The phone has a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back with phase detection autofocus and a portrait mode. On the front, the device gets a 16MP shooter with artificial intelligence features. Earlier today, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had confirmed that it will be keeping a launch event on June 6 the Honor PLAY phone that will deliver AI based pathbreaking 4D gaming experience. The smartphone is also expected to also include AI driven camera functions. Honor will be unleashing it at the Beijing University Gymnasium in Beijing, China. The company has also confirmed today on Weibo that it will be announcing another phone called Honor 9i at the same event.

The TENAA listings of LLD-AL20 and LLD-AL30 reveals that the Honor 9i will be housing a 5.84-inch display that will produce Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The Honor 9i is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.36 GHz. It is speculated that the handset may feature the older Kirin 960 chipset. It is packed with a 2,900mAh battery.

The horizontal dual camera setup lying on the rear of the Honor 9i features a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary sensor of 2-megapixel. It is equipped with a front-facing shooter of 16-megapixel.

On Monday, Huawei had unveiled the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design smartphones. However, the Mate 10 Lite was not unveiled alongside these phones. Today, the Chinese firm has made it official discreetly.

Huawei Mate 10 Lite Specifications and Features

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite features an elongated 5.9-inch LCD panel and since it carries support for FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, it produces an aspect ratio of 2:1. The display is surrounded by minimal bezels. The smartphone features 156.2 x 75.2 x 7.5mm and its weight is 164 grams.

The top bezel houses a dual camera system that includes a 13-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. The rear side of the phone is flanked with Leica certified and dual-LED enabled dual camera system featuring a 16-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. Since the smartphone features a large display and does not have enough space to house a Home button below it, the fingerprint scanner is moved to rear side of the phone.

The 16nm Kirin 659 chipset that features a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor and ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics is present under the hood of the Mate 10 Lite. The SoC is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. The native storage that has been provided on the handset is 64 GB. It also features an external storage slot for adding a microSD card. Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has launched a new smartphone in India as it marks its third year anniversary in the country. The Honor 9i is a mid-range device with some pretty impressive features. First, it has dual cameras on both sides, not a first, but still a cool feature. It also has a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Honor 9i packs a 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 FullView display with a 2.5D glass on top. It is powered by the Kirin 659, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.36GHz. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

The Honor 9i is one of the few smartphones with four cameras. The rear camera is a 16MP + 2MP combination and up front is a 13MP + 2MP front facing camera with its own LED flash. Both the rear and front cameras allow you to adjust the focus for portrait images.
