Xiaomi Mi Bands are not the only affordable fitness trackers in the market. Huawei and Honor also sell similar products in almost all the countries where these two brands have their presence. However, they are not as feature-rich as Xiaomi’s offerings. 

But credit where credit’s due, Huawei regularly updates its as well as Honor’s fitness trackers to offer software features present in competitors. Currently, the company is finally rolling out the weather forecast option to HUAWEI Band 4 and HONOR Band 5i.

The HUAWEI Band 4 and HONOR band 5i are the latest fitness trackers from the brands. Like their smartphones, these two wearable have also been receiving regular firmware updates with new features as well as bug fixes.

These two fitness trackers are now receiving a new firmware update with different build versions. Nevertheless, their changelog is identical, which means the update brings the same set of changes for them.

As per HuaweiCentral, the new update for HUAWEI Band 4 comes with firmware version 1.0.2.112, whereas the one for HONOR Band 5i carries version 1.0.5.100. As always, the update is being pushed through the HUAWEI Health app.

As mentioned in the beginning, the new update finally brings the 6-day weather forecast feature and also adds new watch faces in the Watch Face Store in the companion app.

In order to receive the latest update, make sure to have the latest version of the HUAWEI Health app installed from Google Play Store, HUAWEI AppGalerry, or Apple App Store depending upon the smartphone you own.

Last year, Honor had launched the MagicWatch 2 and Band 5i devices in China. Today, the Chinese manufacturer held a dedicated launch event to announce the Honor 9X smartphone in India. At the event, Honor also unveiled the MagicWatch 2 smartwatch and Band 5i fitness tracker. Apart from the wearables, Honor introduced Rs. 1,999 worth Honor Sport Bluetooth Earphones and Rs. 3,999 Honor Sport Pro Bluetooth Earphones. These devices will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Amazon India in the near future. Here is all the information on the pricing, specifications and features of both devices.

Honor Band 5i price in India

The Honor Band 5i is an updated edition of the Honor Band 5 that was introduced in August for Rs. 2,599 (~$37). The Band has arrived with a price tag of Rs. 1,999 (~$28). It comes in Black color only and it can be availed from Amazon India. SBI card owners can avail 10 percent discount on the device.

Honor Band 5i specifications

The Band 5i features a 0.96-inch TFT color display that offers a resolution of 80 x 160 pixels. The 91mAh battery that can be charged for up to 1 week can be charged by directly connecting a USB cable. There is a dedicated capacitive home button.

Its appeal can be customized using downloadable clock faces. The device offers 9 kinds of fitness modes for outdoor and activities such as running, walking, cycling, free training and more. It has an optical heart rate tracker it can also monitor sleep patterns. Its other features include stopwatch, music control, alarm and idle alert. The Band 5i offers 50ATM water resistance.

Honor MagicWatch 2 price in India

Honor MagicWatch 2 has gone official in India with a pricing of Rs. The 46mm model that comes in color options like Charcoal Black and Flax Brown. They are respectively priced at Rs. 12,999 (~$183) and Rs. 14,999 (~$211).

The 42mm can be brought in color editions such as Agate Black and Sakura Gold. They are respectively priced at Rs. 11,999 (~$169) and Rs. 14,999 (~$211).

Buyers of Honor MagicWatch 2 will be provided with Honor xSport AM61 Bluetooth earphones worth Rs. 1,699 (~$24) for free. Users can also take advantage of up to 6 months no cost EMI offer. SBI card owners can avail 10 percent discount on the MagicWatch 2. The 46mm will be available for purchase through Amazon India from Jan. 19. The 42mm will be available soon on the same e-commerce platform.

Honor MagicWatch 2 specifications

The 46mm and 42mm Honor MagicWatch models feature 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display and stainless steel chassis. The Kirin A1 chipset fuels the MagicWatch 2. The device offers user with 4 GB of RAM and its look can be personalized with custom watch faces. Photos from the paired Honor devices can be also used as wallpapers on the MagicWatch 2.

The MagicWatch 2 has a 455mAh battery that can last for up to 14 days on a single charge. The other features of the MagicWatch 2 include 50ATM water-resistance, dual-frequency GPS, heart rate tracker, sleep monitor, fitness tracking modes, built-in speaker and a microphone.

Honor, a sub-brand of Chinese electronics behemoth Huawei, has just sent out invites for the official launch of a range of smart accessories which includes MagicWatch 2 and Band 5i in India. Honor has teamed up with notable eCommerce platform Amazon to sell its products. Although the Jan. 14 launch date has been confirmed, there is no word on when the devices will be sold to the public. The Honor 9X smartphone is also launching on the same day in the country. The same platform could be used by Honor to announce its new smart accessories for the country.

Honor is all set to unveil the Honor MagicWatch 2 and Honor Band 5i at an event in New Delhi. Both the MagicWatch 2 and the Band 5i are listed on Amazon India revealing a few key features, along with the ‘Notify Me’ button. Honor officially launched the Watch Magic 2 back in November 2019 in China, replacing the 1st-generation Watch Magic. 

Honor MagicWatch 2 Specifications and Features

The Honor MagicWatch 2 flaunts 42mm and 46mm dials with a 316L stainless steel chassis. The 42mm variant features a 1.2-inch circular display, while the 46mm unit comes with a 1.39-inch screen. Both smartwatches sport an always-on AMOLED panel with a ton of customization features. The device is powered by a HiSIlicon Kirin A1 SoC and features 15 different goal-based fitness modes. Honor claims the MagicWatch 2 has an effective battery life of 14 days and comes with a dual satellite positioning system that accurately records user data like speed and direction while cycling or running.

The MagicWatch 2 has 13 different courses especially for running. It comes with real-time voice-over guidance and supports an array of additional features including heart rate monitoring, Huawei TruSleep sleep monitoring and Huawei TruRelax. The smartwatch features 4GB of native storage, is water-resistant, and is equipped with a built-in speaker and microphone.

Honor Band 5i Specifications and Features

The Honor Band 5i sports a 0.96-inch display with a resolution of 160 x 80 pixels. The fitness band features a 24-hour heart-rate monitor with sleep tracking, flaunts built-in USB connectors and is water-resistant up to 50 meters. The device is also capable of tracking fitness and offering personalized recommendations based on previously recorded data.

Alongside the Honor 20 Lite (Youth Edition), Honor also announced a new fitness tracker called the honor Band 5i. The Honor fitness tracker addresses a major flaw in the design of other fitness trackers including some of Honor’s own previous models.

Unlike a lot of other fitness trackers that have a proprietary charging connector for charging them, the Honor Band 5i can be charged by simply plugging it into a USB port. This design eliminates the need to take a charger along with you if you are on a trip and also prevents your fitness tracker from becoming useless if your charger gets damaged or stolen.

Coming to its specs, the Honor Band 5i has a 0.96-inch TFT full-color touchscreen display with an 80 x 160 resolution and a capacitive home button below it. The screen can display up to 30 characters at a time and there are several watchfaces to choose from.

The Honor band 5i can measure SpO2 levels and has TruSeen 3.5 heart rate monitoring. It also has sleep tracking, up to 9 sport modes, and has music playback controls. Honor says it is also water-resistant up to 50 meters. It has a 91mAh battery which can last between 7 to 9 days on a single charge depending on usage.

The new fitness tracker is priced at ¥159 (~$22) but those who pre-order will get it for ¥149 (~$21). Pre-order begins today on Vmall and runs until October 31. The Honor Band 5i will be available for purchase starting November 1. It is available in Meteorite Black, Olive Green, and Coral Pink.

Earlier this year, in July, Honor launched it latest fitness tracker named Honor Band 5. Now, the company has been teasing the launch of another variant of the same, which is dubbed Honor Band 5i.

Today, the upcoming Honor Band 5i, which is expected to launch in China on 22nd October, is up for reservation on TMALL. However, the pricing of the device remains unknown as the eCommerce listing shows a placeholder price of 9,999 Yuan.

The listing as well as the poster shared by the company confirms that the Honor Band 5i will be made available in three color options — Pink, Black, and Olive Green. As for the design, it looks similar to the original device with an elongated body and silicone strap.

While the display size is yet to be confirmed, it looks similar to the standard Honor Band 5 that features a 0.95 inch OLED AMOLED display which is capable of displaying 43 characters at once. The teaser shared by the company also confirms that Band 5i variant will have an Spo2 meter to measure blood oxygen and will also come with a step counter.

Usually, the “i” suffix are used for watered down and affordable variants of the standard handset and similar strategy is expected to be adopted with the Honor Band 5i. Even though this cannot be confirmed, we assume the only major alteration with this variant will be the new type of charging connector and the lack of NFC.

In the month of July this year, Huawei‘s sub-brand, Honor launched it latest fitness band which is called the Honor Band 5. Earlier today, the company has shared a teaser which reveals that it is about to launch another variant of the previously launched smart wearable which will be dubbed the “Honor Band 5i”.

According to the teaser, the upcoming fitness tracker will be launched on the 22nd of October which also happens to the launch date of the “Honor 20 Youth Edition“. In terms of looks, the Honor Band 5i is reminiscent of the original device with an elongated body and silicone wrist strap. However, one obvious difference that the two variants have is that the future smart wearable has a charging connector built-in which is concealed in the strap.

With the help of this connector, the Honor band 5i can directly be plugged into a wall charger with a USB A female port, eliminating the need of a specific charging accessory which we believe is a thoughtful addition.
