Honor has introduced the Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design in the global markets after launching it in China in March. As the name suggests, the device is developed in collaboration with legendary carmaker Porsche. It boasts a stunning luxurious design and of course top-of-the-line specifications. Beginning with the key USP of the device, the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design takes design inspiration from the legendary Porsche Taycan. The phone has a Hexagonal-shaped protruding camera module in Black colour. It features a titanium alloy frame that is durable and lightweight. The rear panel also sports a flyline-like body that is inspired from the front vertical styling of the car for every racing enthusiast. The device is IP68-certified dust and water-resistant.

The Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design has a quad-curved AMOLED display measuring 6.8 inches and bearing an FHD+ resolution. It features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 5,000 nits HDR peak brightness, and 1,800 nits global peak brightness. The screen is protected by an Honor anti-scratch NanoCrystal shield.

In the imaging department, the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design features triple rear cameras. Honor has recently hinted at a new pink color variant of its Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design for the global market. This announcement comes after the smartphone was launched in Malaysia last month in two colors: Agate Gray and Frozen Berry Pink. Interestingly, the pink model has already been available in its home country, China, since the device’s debut there.

The device has yet to launch in any other market besides China and Malaysia. Last month, HTech CEO Madhav Sheth teased the upcoming launch of the Honor Magic 6 Ultimate Edition and Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design in India. However, no further announcements have been made since then.

Last month, Honor debuted its latest range of flagship-tier smartphones in its home market of China including the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design and the Magic 6 Ultimate. Now, the Honor Magic 6 Pro RSR Porsche Design smartphone has also emerged on the IMDA certification website, revealing that it might soon debut in the global market.

While the IMDA certification does not reveal any specifications onboard the Magic 6 Pro RSR Porsche Design design device, it does confirm its model number BVL-N59. This listing also means that the device is greenlit to launch in Singapore in the coming days.

As expected Honor has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design alongside Magic 6 Ultimate, MagicBook Pro 16 series, and Band 9 at a new product launch event in China. This highly anticipated phone boasts a luxurious design crafted in collaboration with Porsche.

Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design Specifications:

Most specs of this smartphone are very similar to the Honor Magic 6 Ultimate. It primarily differs in design. In terms of design, the smartphone boasts design elements inspired by the Porsche Taycan. The rear cover and metal frame draw from the “front vertical styling aesthetics” of the car, while the rear camera module mimics the hexagonal structure of Porsche, replicating its original color and texture.

In terms of display, Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design features a 6.80-inch OLED screen with an aspect ratio of 19.69:9 and a resolution of FHD+ (1280×2800 pixels). The above X post (now deleted), released by tipster Teme, gives the first look at the rear design of the Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design. It has a hexagonal camera module housing three cameras and an LED flash. The right edge of the module has “100X” mentioned for the digital zoom.

The Magic 6 boasts a slim 8.1mm profile, while the Magic 6 Pro is slightly thicker at 8.9mm to accommodate its larger 5600mAh battery. While the Magic 6 RSR appears thicker in leaked images, there’s no official word on its exact thickness yet.

The Magic 6 RSR’s front design remains a mystery, but it’s rumored to feature the same quad-curved OLED panel with a pill-shaped camera cutout as other Magic 6 models. Honor recently teased that the Magic 6 series will introduce the industry’s first dual-stack series OLED architecture, promising a 600% increase in screen life and a 40% improvement in energy efficiency. In February, Honor released the first teaser of the Magic 6 RSR, hinting that it would be announced in March in China. Now, a new Weibo post by a Chinese leaker reveals that the company has already started receiving pre-orders for the Magic 6 RSR as well as two other products.

Honor reportedly begins pre-orders for three new products

According to a Chinese tech blogger, Honor has started receiving pre-orders for three new devices, such as the Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design, the Magic 6 Ultimate, and the MagicBook Pro 16. The tipster did not say anything about the specifications of the Magic 6 models but revealed that the new notebook will be equipped with Intel’s latest Ultra 7 processor and the Nvidia RTX4060 GPU.

Last year’s Honor Magic 5 series included three models, such as the Magic 5, Magic 5 Pro, and Magic 5 Ultimate. The Pro and Ultimate models packed the same specs, but the Ultimate variant sported a different design, offering a unique camera module and a ceramic / leather build.

In January of this year, Honor unveiled the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro smartphones in China. It is unclear whether the Magic 6 RSR and Ultimate are different or the same devices. Last month, Honor unveiled the Magic 6 series in mainland China. While many were expecting the release of a Magic 6 RSR model following their collaboration with Porsche Design, Honor surprised us with the launch of the Magic V2 RSR foldable phone instead.

However, this doesn’t mean the Honor Magic 6 RSR isn’t in the works. Recent developments suggest that it might be on its way.

Honor Magic 6 RSR MIIT certification

A new Honor device, likely the Honor Magic 6 RSR, has received certification from the MIIT authority in China under the model number BAL-AN20.

Although the certification listing doesn’t explicitly mention the device’s name, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station confirmed its identity as the Honor Magic 6 RSR.

While MIIT certification doesn’t provide detailed specifications, it does confirm that the phone will have satellite and 5G connectivity.

Previous reports indicate that the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design could be the first smartphone to feature the one-inch OmniVision OV50K 50-megapixel camera sensor. The OV50K sensor is expected to directly rival Sony’s latest flagship LYT-900 sensor.

Before the official announcement of the Magic 6 series, several reports had claimed that the lineup would also include a Porsche Design model, but there was no announcement on it. A new development suggests that the Honor Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design is still in the works and is expected to debut in the next few months in China.
