Honor will unveil the Honor Magic 6 series of smartphones tomorrow in China. Today, the brand will unveil the Magic OS 8.0 for the home market. A day before the launch tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked what appears to be the camera specifications of the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro.

In the latest leak, DCS has talked about the camera specifications of upcoming photography-focused flagship phones. Hence, it appears he could be talking about the Magic 6 and 6 Pro. The Oppo Find X7 series is scheduled to launch in China on January 8. The conference will kickstart at 2:30 PM local time (GMT+8).

The lineup will consist of two devices, namely Oppo Find X7 and Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The vanilla model will house a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chip, while the ultra variant will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The Find X7 Ultra will arrive with a 50MP Sony LYT-900 1-inch main camera, two periscope telephoto shooters, a leather finish, and satellite communication.

Asus ROG Phone 8 Series

Asus will unveil the ROG Phone 8 series at CES on January 8. At least two models are expected, namely ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. There could be an ‘Ultimate’ variant as well.

All of them will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Their high refresh rate OLED display will have minimal bezels compared to the previous iterations.

Motorola Moto G34 5G

Motorola will debut the Moto G34 5G in India on January 9. As the name suggests, it is a budget 5G smartphone.

The handset offers a 6.5-inch 120Hz HD+ display (LCD), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip, a 50MP main camera, a 16MP selfie camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 18W charging support.

The Poco X6 is a rebranded Redmi Note 13 Pro, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. On the other hand, the Poco X6 Pro houses a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC as it is a rebadged Redmi K70e.

Finally, the Poco M6 Pro is a 4G-only device powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra chip. It will come with a 120Hz OLED display, a 64MP primary camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W charging support.

Oppo Reno 11 Series

The Oppo Reno 11 series will make its global debut on January 11. The lineup will include two models, namely Oppo Reno 11 and Oppo Reno 11 Pro.

The Reno 11 Pro for international markets is expected to be the same as the variant sold in China. However, the vanilla Reno 11 for global markets will be different from the original model.

The international Reno 11 will arrive with a less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC and faster 80W wired charging support. However, it will retain the 32MP telephoto camera and 120Hz curved display.

A new leak that has emerged on Weibo reveals the camera details and battery sizes of the Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro.

As per the new leak, the Honor Magic 6 and Magic 6 Pro are reported to feature a rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H main camera and a 50-megapixel OV50M ultra-wide lens. The leak is contrary to previous reports that have said that the Pro variant will have a one-inch, 50-megapixel main camera. Honor’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup is officially called Magic 6. The brand had already revealed in October that the series will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Honor CEO Zhao Ming (aka George Zhao) recently shared a few pictures of him alongside a Porsche executive on Weibo. The description of his post reads ‘the future is promising.’

George seems to be hinting at a Porsche Design variant of the forthcoming Honor Magic 6 series. For the unaware, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) revealed the existence of this model earlier this month.

This will be the first collaboration between Honor and Porsche Design. Previously, only Huawei used to release products with Porsche branding, which has been now replaced by the company’s own premium label — Ultimate Design.

As per DCS, there will be three primary handsets in the Magic 6 lineup and a special Porsche Design variant based on the top-end model. Their exact names are not known at the moment. But going by previous generations, these phones could be called Honor Magic 6, Honor Magic 6 Pro, and Honor Magic 6 Ultimate.

All of them are said to flaunt a quad-curved display with a dual punch hole (pill-shaped cutout) at the top center. The first two models are expected to feature a circular camera island as opposed to a rounded square camera module on the high-end model.

Looks like Honor has been a busy bee lately! We’re seeing leaks and rumors about two new GT-series phones, the X50 GT and the 90 GT. But that’s not all – Honor is also gearing up to launch its flagship Magic 6 series, and the Pro model just popped up on a 3C certification listing.

The 3C listing confirms that the Honor Magic 6 Pro (model number BVL-AN16) will support 5G networks. However, the most interesting detail is its label as a “Satellite mobile terminal 5G.”

This confirms the presence of advanced satellite connectivity, aligning with earlier statements from Honor’s general manager, Li Kun, about the company’s development of satellite-based communication solutions.

While the standard Honor Magic 6 (model number BVL-AN00) also appeared on the 3C last month, it only boasts support for 66W charging. No mention of satellite connectivity was found, suggesting this feature will be exclusive to the Pro model.

According to reports, the upcoming Honor Magic 6 has the “Bvlgari” codename. While the BVL-AN00 is said to be associated with the Magic 6, the Pro / Ultimate models are said to have the BVL-AN16 and BVL-AN20 model numbers. Just days ago, word broke that the Honor Magic 6 will feature a new camera sensor — the 1-inch OV50K sensor from OmniVision. While specifics about this new sensor remain under wraps, credible leaker Digital Chat Station has shared a few details about it.

According to the leaker, the 1-inch OmniVision OV50K sensor is equipped with a new technology called LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) which will tackle a common challenge in smartphone photography – overexposure in bright scenes.

When you click a picture, the camera sensor captures light which is converted into electrical signals. These signals are then combined to form the final image.

However, in bright scenes, the sensor can be overwhelmed by an excessive amount of light, leading to overexposure and a loss of detail. LOFIC will address this issue by effectively managing the excess light, ensuring that photos retain their integrity even in high-brightness conditions.

DCS added that the OV50K will also be able to compete against Sony’s 1-inch IMX989 sensor.

The news arrived from known tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The leaker claims that both premium grade smartphone series will feature a mini chipset for satellite communication technology, proprietary low power calling tech, and heat dissipation for improved performance.

The low power calling feature will likely compliment the satellite communication as an emergency contact method. Meanwhile, the heat dissipation technology will help lower thermal throttling to maintain high performance for longer with powerful chips like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the Magic 6 series. Honor has announced that its upcoming Magic 6 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform. The Magic 6 will also feature a new AI assistant called YOYO and an eye-tracking-based multimodal interaction called Magic Capsule.

YOYO is powered by an on-device large language model with 7 billion parameters, which means that it can perform complex tasks such as answering questions, creating short videos, and providing personalized recommendations without the need to send any data to the cloud.

Another feature is Magic Capsule, which Honor says is a new way to interact with your phone using your eyes. It will be powered by Snapdragon Seamless technology, although Honor has not yet announced any specific details about how it will work.

The Honor Magic 6 series will reportedly consist of two smartphones, the Honor Magic 6 and the Magic 6 Pro. The latter has already been spotted in the wild with a pill-shaped notch and is expected to have the same 12MP ultrawide selfie camera and time of flight (ToF) 3D camera as the Magic 5 Pro.
