<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a> has begun rolling out a new MagicOS update for its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-8/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic 8</a> series smartphones in China. Labeled MagicOS 10.0.0.122, the update brings a mix of AI-driven features, usability improvements, and system optimizations. Among all, the feature that stands out is the new eye-tracking page turning.</p>

<p>As the name implies, the feature is designed to make reading on the phone more hands-free. Once enabled, the system can automatically turn pages as it detects the user’s eye movement, reducing the need for touch input.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-722643" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Honor-Magic-8-eye-tracking-page-turnning-upate-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>It is a more immersive way of reading on your phone, particularly when reading sessions are long or in situations where using your hands is inconvenient. The feature can be accessed through Settings &gt; Honor AI &amp; YOYO &gt; Eye Tracking &gt; Eye-tracking Page Turning.</p>

<h2><strong>Rest of the update</strong></h2>

<p>The update also brings meaningful improvements to screen recording. Honor has added a Clean Screen Recording mode that allows users to record their screens without capturing banner notifications, status bars, or animated icons.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition, the Magic 8 series now supports simultaneous call and screen recording, allowing users to start or continue screen recording during calls. And if you’re wondering, Honor made it clear that call audio and content are excluded from recordings.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="754" height="722" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-12-003142.png?x44794" alt="HONOR Magic 8 Pro" class="wp-image-718779" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-12-003142.png 754w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-12-003142-300x287.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-12-003142-696x666.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Screenshot-2025-12-12-003142-439x420.png 439w" sizes="(max-width: 754px) 100vw, 754px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Honor has also refreshed its Tips and Tricks app for the Magic 8 series. It now has a redesigned interface with expanded content to help users better understand device features and usage techniques.</p>

<p>On the system side, the Communication Control Center now includes motion rebound animations when expanding or collapsing WLAN, Bluetooth, and media cards, adding subtle visual polish. Battery life has also been optimized for certain scenarios, while scrolling performance has been improved in applications such as the home screen and China’s 12306 railway ticketing app.</p>

<p>Finally, the update addresses overall system smoothness and stability, fixing lag in specific situations and reducing third-party app crashes and unresponsiveness.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The update is 790MB in size.</p>

<p>After weeks of rumors, leaks, and official teasers, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a>&#8216;s latest generation of flagship smartphones has finally made their debut in China. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-8/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic 8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-8-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic 8 Pro</a> pack cutting edge technology, high end camera systems, and a sleek design. So here&#8217;s everything you need to know about the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powered smartphone.</p>

<h3>Design and Display</h3>

<p>The Chinese brand has just announced the Magic 8 series with minimal changes to the design over its predecessor. While the look seems familiar to the Magic 7 lineup, the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro are getting a more polished design. The rear has a large circular camera island with rounded corners on the edge. Both models arrive in multiple color options. </p>

<p>The base model gets Rising Sun Gold, Celadon Gaze, Snowy White, and Velvet Black, while the Magic 8 Pro arrives in Azure Blue, Snow White, and Velvet Black. You also get an IP68 + IP69 + IP69K rating for water and dust resistance on the new lineup. Honor&#8217;s Magic 8 measures just 7.95mm thick and weighs around 205 grams, while the Magic 8 Pro measures 8.32mm thick and weighs around 219 grams. The Magic 8 series also adds a new button to the frame, which acts as a dedicated key for AI. Long pressing this key brings up Honor&#8217;s proprietary version of Gemini Live called YOYO Video Call.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-709981" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-color-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the front, the standard Magic 8 is closer to a compact flagship thanks to its 6.58-inch LTPO OLED display that has an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 6000 nits of peak brightness, 1.18mm uniform ultra thin bezels and 4,320Hz PWM dimming. </p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Magic 8 Pro sports a taller 6.71-inch quad curved LTPO OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 6000 nits of peak brightness, 4,320Hz PWM dimming, Honor Giant Rhino Glass for protection, and 1.18mm uniform bezels on all four sides. The duo houses a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security.</p>

<h3>Specifications</h3>

<p>Following the Xiaomi 17 series, Honor is the next in line to feature Qualcomm&#8217;s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This makes it one of the fastest Android smartphones in the market right now. The chip is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-1024x576.webp?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 8" class="wp-image-710958" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-696x391.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-1068x600.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Honor-Magic-8.webp 1265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8</figcaption></figure></div>

On the other hand, the Magic 8 Pro has an even larger 7,200mAh cell with support for faster 100W wired and 80W wireless charging speeds. Out of the box, both models run on the Android 16 OS based MagicOS 10 custom skin. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and more.</p>

<h3>Camera</h3>

<p>Honor&#8217;s flagship Magic 8 Pro offers a triple camera setup on the rear that includes a 50MP (Main, 1/1.31-inch, f/1.6) + 200MP (Telephoto, 1/1.4-inch, 3.7x optical zoom) + 50MP (Ultrawide) setup. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> is expected to unveil the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro smartphones <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/21/honor-magic-8-magicpad-3-pro-set-to-debut-october-15/">on Oct. 15 in China</a>, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Fresh leaks indicate that the two models will share similarities in their camera systems but will stand apart in terms of displays, battery capacity and charging technology. Here is an overview of the rumored specifications of both devices.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="771" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-1024x771.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 8 series image by Teme" class="wp-image-709288" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-300x226.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-768x578.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-1536x1157.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-696x524.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-1068x804.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-1920x1446.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-558x420.jpg 558w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/HOnor-Magic-8-series-image-by-Teme.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 series image by Teme</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The base <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-8/">Magic 8</a> is expected to sport a 6.58-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. It could include a 7,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging, but unlike the Pro edition, it is not expected to support wireless charging.</p>

<p>The rear camera system is tipped to combine a 50-megapixel lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/24/honor-magic-8-pro-200mp-periscope-telephoto-camera-samples/">a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto unit</a>, along with a red maple camera sensor. For those who don&#8217;t know, the red maple camera sensor is a multispectral or spectral-color imaging sensor intended to improve color accuracy, especially under varying lighting conditions. On the front, the phone may carry a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Color choices for this model are expected to include black, white, light blue and gold.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 Pro specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-8-pro">Honor Magic 8 Pro</a> is said to feature a 6.71-inch micro-quad-curved screen with 1.5K resolution. Powering it could be a 7,200mAh battery paired with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging.</p>

<p>The rear setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and the distinctive red maple colour sensor. A 50-megapixel selfie camera is also likely on the front.</p>

<p>The Magic 8 Pro is said to weigh around 222 grams, but the company is likely to advertise a lower value. It is tipped to arrive in black, white and blue finishes, though its availability in gold is still uncertain.</p>

<p>Apart from the Magic 8 series, Honor is also expected to launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/29/honor-magicpad-3-pro-official-images-specifications/">MagicPad 3 Pro tablet</a>. This flagship device is said to include the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/27/honor-magicpad-3-pro-confirmed-as-first-tablet-with-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5/">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor</a>, a 13.3-inch LCD screen with 3.2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, and a sizeable 12,450mAh battery.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/27/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-vs-snapdragon-8-elite-benchmarks-and-specs/">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a> is barely out of the gate, and the first benchmark battles are already heating up. Xiaomi was first to market with the new 3nm chip inside its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/27/xiaomis-17-series-breaks-sales-record-one-of-brands-fastest-selling-flagship-yet/">17 series</a>, but Honor is wasting no time trying to claim the upper hand. Early numbers from the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/26/heres-your-first-look-at-the-honor-magic-8/">Magic 8</a> suggest it may already have an edge over the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/27/whats-so-special-about-the-xiaomi-17-pro-rear-display/">Xiaomi 17 Pro</a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-708477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<p>Honor’s product manager Li Kun shared a Weibo post showing the Magic 8’s AnTuTu V11 score: 4,166,339. That’s notably higher than the Xiaomi 17 Pro’s 3,749,435. A closer look at the breakdown shows Honor leading across the board—CPU (1,213,845 vs. 1,053,385), GPU (1,468,351 vs. 1,332,311), memory (570,553 vs. 529,807), and UX (913,590 vs. 833,932). On paper, that’s about an 11% advantage.</p>

<p>Of course, raw numbers only tell part of the story. The Magic 8 dropped 7% battery during the run, while the 17 Pro only lost 2%. This difference in battery consumption isn’t too surprising. The 17 Pro was tested at over 90% charge, and Xiaomi phones often drop more slowly at higher levels—likely a quirk in how the battery percentage is reported. Thermal behavior was also mixed—the Magic 8 gained 13°C as compared to 20°C of the Xiaomi 17 Pro.</p>

</figure>

<p>Both phones have more than just performance to prove. The Xiaomi 17 Pro brings Leica-backed cameras and a unique 2.7-inch rear display, while Honor is teasing a 200MP telephoto sensor on the Magic 8 Pro with sample images already circulating online.</p>

<p>With Honor’s Magic 8 series set to debut in October, the early lead in benchmarks adds fuel to an already interesting rivalry. Xiaomi may have been first to launch with Qualcomm’s new chip, but Honor looks determined to show it can tune the hardware even better.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a> is getting ready to launch its next flagship lineup, the Magic 8 series, and we’re finally getting a clear look at what the phones will bring. Fresh live images shared by the company reveal the front of the device, following earlier leaks that showed off its back design.</p>

<p>At first glance, the Honor Magic 8 doesn’t stray too far from last year’s Magic 7. The most noticeable is the flat display with large rounded corners, or what Honor calls an R-angle flat screen. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="593" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-front.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-708475" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-front.jpg 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-front-297x300.jpg 297w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-front-415x420.jpg 415w" sizes="(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Paired with a new right-angled middle frame, the device looks slimmer and sharper than its predecessor. On the back, it retains a familiar circular camera island housing four cutouts. It’s likely three lenses plus a depth sensor, though Honor hasn’t detailed exact specs yet. What we do know is that Honor is testing a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/24/honor-magic-8-pro-200mp-periscope-telephoto-camera-samples/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">200-megapixel telephoto camera</a> for Magic 8 Pro.</p>

<p>The front of the standard Magic 8 shows a single punch-hole selfie camera, while the Magic 8 Pro is expected to also feature a pill-shaped cutout to enable 3D face recognition. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" data-id="708477" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-708477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/Honor-Magic-8-Pro-Design-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>Another subtle but important addition is a brand-new button placed below the power key. Honor says this isn’t a camera shutter but rather a dedicated AI button. Its full functions aren’t clear yet, but it will likely tie into the company’s growing suite of AI tools, including features like Magic Color, AI retouching, and one-tap photo expansion.</p>

<p>Inside, the Magic 8 series will be among the first phones to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, unveiled this week at Qualcomm’s annual summit. The chip promises faster performance, improved efficiency, and enhanced on-device AI processing, which aligns neatly with Honor’s AI strategy.</p>

<p>The Magic 8 series will officially debut in China on October 15th, alongside the MagicPad 3 Pro. The device might go global early next year.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a>&#8216;s upcoming flagship smartphones and tablets have just surfaced in a fresh leak, revealing their launch date. The Magic 8 series and MagicPad 3 Pro are expected to debut next month, so here&#8217;s everything we know so far.</p>

<h2>Honor Magic 8 Series &amp; MagicPad 3 Pro Leaked for Mid-October Launch</h2>

<p>The latest rumor arrives from tipster Fixed Focus Digital, who shared the details on Weibo. Honor is reportedly planning on releasing the Magic 8 series and the MagicPad 3 Pro in the brand&#8217;s home market on 15th October 2025. That&#8217;s not all, there are other products also launching alongside these high end smartphones and tablets, including a new pair of truly wireless earbuds (EarBuds 4?) and the Honor Watch 5 Pro. To recall, the Honor Magic 8, Magic 8 Pro, and Magic 8 Mini will debut with Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-670012" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Magic7-Pro00007-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 7 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Apart from the powerful chip and cutting edge specs, the company is focusing on bringing more advanced AI powered features in the Magic 8 series. These will likely include deeper AI integration for more useful tools and help improve the zoomed pictures from the 200MP periscore telephoto shooter on the rear. Based on earlier reports, the Magic 8 Pro could also be the only Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powered chipset that features <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/08/honor-magic-8-pro-3d-face-id-camera-specifications/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">3D Face ID technology</a>.</p>

<p>The large 200MP zoom lens is expected paired with a large 50MP 1/1.3-inch main camera and 50MP ultra wide angle shooter. This model may be powered by a massive 7,000mAh battery pack, which may support 80W wired fast charging. On the other hand, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/14/honor-magicpad-3-pro-teased-new-compact-magicpad-mini-also-expected/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MagicPad 3 Pro was recently teased</a>, and it will likely feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite. </p>

Honor’s Flagship Series Product Manager Li Kun has hinted that the Honor Magic 8 Pro will be the next 200-megapixel telephoto camera king</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 Pro to feature 200MP periscope telephoto camera</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-39.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-705093" width="691" height="649" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-39.png 691w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-39-300x282.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/image-39-447x420.png 447w" sizes="(max-width: 691px) 100vw, 691px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 Pro to feature 200MP periscope telephoto camera </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As can be seen, Li Kun has said that Honor’s 200-megapixel telephoto camera king will be available soon. This Weibo post was released after reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared following details about the Honor Magic 8 series, which is expected to break cover in October in China.</p>

<p>According to the source, the camera module of the Honor Magic 8 series will continue to be centrally aligned, although the flash placement has been altered compared to the previous generation. The setup includes a dToF sensor for depth measurement and an additional small, unidentified sensor, which remains undisclosed for now. The module itself is large, signalling significant upgrades, particularly for the Pro variant.</p>

<p>He added that the Honor Magic 8 Pro is tipped to feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera backed by a large sensor. The tipster noted that three brands this year are expected to adopt similar high-resolution telephoto lenses, placing Honor in direct competition with rivals. The main sensor’s base size is said to match that of Vivo’s latest Pro flagship, making it clear that Honor intends to challenge its competitor directly in imaging performance.</p>

<p>In terms of design, the prototype shows colour options including a classic black-and-white combination, along with a newly introduced glazed finish that adds a premium look. The comparison between Vivo and Honor is already being set up by enthusiasts, with October expected to reveal which company’s image tuning proves more effective.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> is preparing a packed lineup of smartphones for the closing months of 2025. Reports have revealed that the Magic 8 lineup will be unveiled in October. The GT 2 series is expected to launch after the Magic 8 series in China. Now, a new leak claims that the Honor 500 series has also been planned for this year.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor 500, 500 Pro key specs, launch timeline (rumored)</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="953" height="399" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-147.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-703436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-147.png 953w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-147-300x126.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-147-768x322.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-147-696x291.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 953px) 100vw, 953px" /></figure>

<p>In June 2025, Honor unveiled the Honor 400 and 400 Pro in China. These devices are different from their global versions. The Chinese variants came with a 6.55-inch display and a 200-megapixel primary camera. According to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, two devices under the Honor 500 series are tipped to debut by the end of 2025.</p>

<p>While the exact names were not mentioned, they are expected to launch as the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro. The new models are said to carry forward the design approach of their predecessors with an iPhone-inspired appearance. The Honor 500 lineup will focus on being slim and lightweight while still being camera-centric, featuring a 6.5-inch display and a new 200-megapixel main sensor. As far as launch is concerned, it may debut in December this year. </p>

<h3><strong>Honor GT 2 series display size revealed (rumored)</strong></h3>

<p>DCS has mentioned in the same leak that the Honor GT 2 prototypes are equipped with a large 6.83-inch screen. He added that performance will be the main highlight, paired with a large-capacity battery. </p>

<p>Previous leaks suggest that the GT 2 could be powered by either the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Gen 5</a> or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> SoC, while the GT 2 Pro may house the newer <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a>. According to a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/24/honor-gt-2-leaks-8800mah-24gb-ram/">recent report</a>, the standard GT 2 may arrive with an 8,800mAh battery, up to 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Power 2 launch timeframe (rumored)</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="969" height="163" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-148.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-703437" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-148.png 969w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-148-300x50.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-148-768x129.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/image-148-696x117.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 969px) 100vw, 969px" /></figure>

<p>DCS revealed in the comments section of the same post that the Honor Power 2 is tentatively scheduled to launch in Q1 2026, with an invincible battery. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/11/honor-dimensity-8500-10000mah-battery-phone-leak/">As per reports</a>, the Honor Power 2 will arrive with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/21/honor-10000mah-phone-display-launch-timeframe/">a 6.79-inch display</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8500">Dimensity 8500</a> chipset, and an enormous <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/29/honor-10000mah-battery-phone-production-introduction-stage-news/">10,000mAh battery</a>.</p>

<p>In the original leak, the tipster mentioned that the brand is also working on compact tablets, but he did not share more details about them.</p>

According to a new leak from tipster <em>Fixed Focus Digital</em> on Weibo, the company is preparing to launch the Magic 8 lineup in mid-October.</p>

<p>That would put it a few weeks ahead of last year’s Magic 7 series, which debuted in late October before going on sale in early November 2024.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 7 Pro" class="wp-image-685525" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-Review-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Magic 8 series is rumored to include several models this year. In October, we may see the launch of the standard Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, while a smaller Magic 8 Mini and a high-end Magic 8 Ultra could follow in early 2026.</p>

<h2><strong>What to expect?</strong></h2>

<p>According to previous leaks, the Magic 8 and 8 Pro will feature OLED displays measuring around 6.6 and 6.7 inches, respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Both phones will be powered by Qualcomm’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a> chipset, have support for wireless charging, and ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanners. The devices are also expected to feature larger batteries than their predecessors. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 7 Pro" class="wp-image-659682" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Honor-Magic-7-Pro-1.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Magic 8 Pro, in particular, may come with a 7000mAh cell and support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/14/honor-magic-8-series-3c-certified/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">90W wired charging</a>.</p>

<p>The Magic 8 Mini, meanwhile, is said to take a different approach. It’s rumored to use <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/18/honor-magic-8-mini-key-specifications-leaked/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip</a>, paired with a smaller 6.3-inch screen and a slimmer overall design. </p>

<p>As for the Magic 8 Ultra, it is expected to feature <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/27/honor-dual-200mp-camera-phone-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dual 200-megapixel cameras</a>, one for the main sensor and another for a periscope telephoto lens. It will also run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip and may share features with the Magic 8 Pro, such as charging and display technology.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> launched the Honor Magic 7 series as one of the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phones last year. The same is expected this year, as reports have claimed that the Magic 8 lineup featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be unveiled in October. Ahead of the expected launch, new Honor phones believed to be part of the Magic 8 lineup have received 3C certification in China.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 series phones bag 3C certification</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="835" height="483" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified.png?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 8 series 3C certified" class="wp-image-701423" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified.png 835w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified-300x174.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified-768x444.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified-696x403.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Honor-Magic-8-series-3C-certified-726x420.png 726w" sizes="(max-width: 835px) 100vw, 835px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 series 3C certified</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As can be seen above, two Honor smartphones bearing the model numbers BKQ-AN00 and BKQ-AN80 have received 3C certification in China. These devices have been spotted with a 90W fast charger. Notably, the BKQ-AN80 version is listed with only BeiDou positioning support, meaning it may not include other satellite navigation systems such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, or A-GNSS.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 series rumors</strong></h3>

<p>According to reports, the Honor Magic 8 lineup will comprise multiple models, such as the Magic 8, Magic 8 Pro, Magic 8 Mini, and Magic 8 Ultra. The standard and Pro models are expected to feature 6.58-inch and 6.7-inch OLED displays, respectively, and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 </a>chipset. While these devices are expected to launch this year, the Mini and Ultra editions may debut next year.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/26/honor-magic-8-mini-dimensity-9500-specs-leak/">Magic 8 Mini</a> is reportedly equipped with a 6.3-inch display and a Dimensity 9500 SoC. The Ultra variant may offer an ultimate photography experience, as it is said to be the world’s first phone equipped with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/27/honor-dual-200mp-camera-phone-leak/">dual 200-megapixel</a> lens setup for the primary and periscope telephoto cameras. A few weeks ago, Luo Wei, head of Honor Imaging, clarified that the Magic 8 series will not feature a 1-inch main camera or a dual-periscope telephoto lens. He explained that the brand prefers to focus on balanced performance rather than adding hardware for marketing appeal.</p>

<p>As the second half of the year unfolds, leaks around upcoming smartphone flagships are beginning to gain traction. The latest device to enter the rumor cycle is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/07/01/honor-magic-8-series-leak-mini-delay-7-inch-model/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor Magic 8 series</a>.</p>

<p>According to Chinese tech blogger The<em> Factory Manager is Guan</em>, Honor is preparing three Magic 8 flagships this year, up from two in the previous Magic 7 lineup. </p>

<h2><strong>Honor Magic 8 mini incoming?</strong></h2>

<p>Interestingly, the new addition to the series is a compact model. Compact phones are quietly gaining momentum as smartphone internals have matured enough to fit better hardware (including bigger batteries) into smaller frames. Take<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x200-fe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Vivo X200 FE</a> or <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-13s/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus 13s</a>, for example. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="760" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-reveals-a-compact-variant.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 8 series leak reveals Magic 8 mini" class="wp-image-696682" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-reveals-a-compact-variant.jpg 760w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-reveals-a-compact-variant-300x237.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-reveals-a-compact-variant-696x549.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-reveals-a-compact-variant-532x420.jpg 532w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px" /></figure></div>

<p>Let’s just call the upcoming compact Honor flagship Magic 8 Mini, and it will join the standard Magic 8 and the Magic 8 Pro in the line. All three devices are expected to feature flat-edged displays with rounded corners and ultra-slim bezels.</p>

<p>Two of the three models will also reportedly include 3D facial recognition technology, likely the standard and Pro variants. Both are also said to be powered by Qualcomm’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/12/snapdragon-8-elite-2-leaked-benchmark-scores/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor</a>.</p>

<p>The leak further claims that the new devices will feature batteries exceeding 7000mAh, a 200MP telephoto lens with multi-refractive optics, a new primary sensor, and upgraded AI-powered image processing. The Magic 8 mini, meanwhile, is rumored to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip.</p>

<p>Adding weight to the leak, known tipster <em>Digital Chat Station </em>also stated that the Honor Magic 8 lineup will consist of three models this year. According to him, the Magic 8 mini will feature a 6.31-inch LTPO display with 1.5K resolution.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="252" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-696681" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-300x84.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-768x215.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/Honor-Magic-8-series-leak-696x195.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The standard Magic 8 will reportedly sport a 6.58-inch screen, while the Magic 8 Pro will offer a larger 6.71-inch build. Both have the same 1.5K resolution LTPO AMOLED panel as the mini.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Honor is expected to unveil the Magic 8 series in October. </p>

<p>According to DCS, the Magic 8 lineup may include multiple models with varying screen sizes, such as 6.3-inch, 6.58-inch, and 6.7-inch. While there is no concrete evidence yet, it appears that all four models may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.</p>

<p>DCS claims that Honor is yet to finalize the 6.3-inch model. Dubbed Magic 8 Mini by the rumor mill, it will not launch alongside the Magic 8 and 8 Pro, claims the tipster.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/07/honor-magic-8-may-sport-a-6-59-inch-oled-screen-october-launch-tipped/">6.58-inch model</a>, which is believed to be the Honor Magic 8, is currently being tested with a mid-tier periscope camera. The current engineering prototype is said to be tested with OmniVision OV64B and Sony IMX882 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/06/10/honor-magic-8-key-specifications-leaked/">periscope cameras</a>.</p>

<p>The Honor Magic 8 Pro, which may feature a 6.7-inch display, is being tested with a 200-megapixel periscope camera with a large sensor. DCS has also claimed that the flagship series may include a 6.9-inch model, which could be called the Honor Magic 8 Max or Ultra. He didn’t divulge any information about it.</p>

<p>Additionally, in the mid-range segment, Honor is said to be working on a new device with an even larger screen—around 6.96 inches—bringing it very close to the 7-inch mark.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 key specifications tipped</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="265" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-1024x265.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-691014" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-1024x265.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-300x78.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-768x199.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-696x180.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43-1068x277.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/image-43.png 1170w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 key specifications leaked</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to the leak, the alleged Honor Magic 8 will feature a flat 6.58-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and 2.5D glass. The screen design will include large-radius corners and slim bezels. To recall, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/07/honor-magic-8-may-sport-a-6-59-inch-oled-screen-october-launch-tipped/">tipster previously claimed</a> that the thickness of the black border would be less than 1mm. The new leak also states that the screen will be integrated with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.</p>

<p>The device is also expected to support wireless charging and carry an IP68/69 rating for water and dust resistance. Interestingly, the current prototype unit is said to be equipped with a periscope telephoto camera, pointing to advanced imaging capabilities even on the standard variant. To recall, last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-7">Honor Magic 7’s</a> rear camera setup included a 3x telephoto camera.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="606" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-1024x606.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Magic 7 series price cut" class="wp-image-683838" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-1024x606.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-300x177.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-768x454.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-1536x908.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-696x412.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-1068x632.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut-710x420.jpg 710w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Honor-magic-7-series-price-cut.jpg 1691w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 7 series</figcaption></figure>

<p>While full hardware specifications haven&#8217;t been confirmed yet, the tipster remarks that the &#8220;core specs are decent,&#8221; hinting at a flagship-level performance package, likely featuring a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-2">Snapdragon 8 Elite 2</a> chipset.</p>

<p>Speaking of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, it is expected to launch by late September this year. It is speculated that the Honor Magic 8 series featuring the new chip will also debut by the end of September in China. At present, there is no information about the Honor Magic 8 series’ global launch.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> has several smartphones in the pipeline for the Chinese market. Meanwhile, the second half of the year is likely to see the launch of the Honor X70 series, catering to the mid-range segment. In October 2024, Honor unveiled the Magic 7 series, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Based on this timeline, it seems likely that the company is preparing to launch the Honor Magic 8 lineup in October this year.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic 8 series leak</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="868" height="234" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-21.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-676171" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-21.png 868w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-21-300x81.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-21-768x207.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-21-696x188.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 868px) 100vw, 868px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 8 series leak</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to tipster Digital Chat Station, a major smartphone iteration from an unspecified brand is expected to launch in October. While he did not mention the brand by name, the emoji used in his Weibo post appears to hint at Honor&#8217;s Magic 8 series.</p>

<p>The leak states that the device will be equipped with a 6.59-inch OLED display with a 1.5K+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. One of the major highlights of this new panel is its extremely narrow bezels on all four sides, with the BM (black matrix) border measuring less than 1 mm, though it will increase slightly when integrated into the device.</p>

<p>Additionally, the screen will have a flat design with large R-corner rounding, giving it a distinct aesthetic. The R-corner refers to the radius of the rounded corners of a display. In this context, a large R-corner means that the screen will have more pronounced, smoothly curved corners rather than sharp edges.</p>

<p>The exact moniker of the device is not known. Probably, the brand is planning to reduce the Honor Magic 8’s display size to 6.59 inches from the 6.78-inch screen seen on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-7">Honor Magic 7</a>. To put it into context, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-7-pro">Honor Magic 7 Pro</a> also features a 6.78-inch screen.</p>

<p>Competing brands like Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi typically offer a larger display on their Pro-branded flagship models while equipping the standard variants with a smaller screen. Following this trend, the Honor Magic 8 Pro may continue to feature a bigger display, whereas the Magic 8 could see a reduction in screen size to 6.59 inches. However, these are only assumptions, and readers are advised to wait for further reports for confirmed details about the Magic 8 lineup.</p>
