So now, here&#8217;s a list of new foldable smartphones that you should definitely be hyped about. These models are set to debut with cutting edge tech, new and improved designs, and capable hardware. So whether you&#8217;re looking for a flip phone or book style foldable device, here&#8217;s the most anticipated foldable phones.</p>

<h3>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 &amp; Galaxy Z Flip 7</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 CAD renders by OnLeaks and AndroidHeadlines" class="wp-image-674690" width="659" height="370" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1-746x420.png 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Samsung-Galaxy-Z-Fold-7-CAD-renders-by-OnLeaks-and-AndroidHeadlines1.png 1420w" sizes="(max-width: 659px) 100vw, 659px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 CAD renders by OnLeaks and AndroidHeadlines</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The very first entry in our list is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 from the South Korean tech giant. Samsung is one of the largest foldable phone makers and its next gen models are expected to debut with various improvements over their predecessors. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the top of the line model, which is expected to bring an improved folding design along with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy SoC. </p>

<p>One of the biggest improvements could be to its camera systems, with the primary sensor reportedly being a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/14/galaxy-z-fold-7-rumored-to-pack-s25-ultras-200mp-main-camera-plus-more-upgrades/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">200MP shooter</a>. Even the under-display selfie camera is supposedly getting some upgrades. This same processor is also rumored to power the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The flip phone might be getting a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/05/galaxy-z-flip-7-to-pack-a-much-larger-battery-paired-with-power-efficient-snapdragon-8-elite/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">larger battery pack</a> as well as an improved image processing for better quality pictures.</p>

<h3>Motorola Razr 60 Series</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display" class="wp-image-678012" width="617" height="411" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Motorola-Razr-60-Design-and-Display-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px" /><figcaption>Motorola Razr 60</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Motorola is well known for its Razr series of flip phones and the upcoming Razr 60 series is set to debut globally soon. The lineup is expected to include the base Razr 60 along with the Razr 60 Ultra (aka Razr+ 2025 in the US market). We covered <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/20/first-motorola-razr-60-renders-show-smaller-foldable-screen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">fresh renders of the base model earlier today</a>, while the Ultra variant was leaked in a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/23/motorola-razr-60-ultra-rio-red-renders-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Rio Red vegan leather option </a>last month.</p>

<p>It seems that Motorola is bringing fast charging upgrades to the lineup with the base model possibly offering 33W wired fast charging and the Razr 60 Ultra getting 68W charging speeds. It isn&#8217;t a great jump from 30W on the Razr 50 for the vanilla model, but the Ultra is going from 45W to 68W, which is a more notable improvement. We can expect other upgrades like a newer chipset, but the camera system might not be getting such a big bump. The Razr 60 Ultra could launch with the 7-core variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Motorola Razr 60 Ultra" class="wp-image-674513" width="657" height="493" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Motorola-Razr-60-Ultra.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px" /><figcaption>Motorola Razr 60 Ultra</figcaption></figure></div>

<h3>Honor Magic V4</h3>

<p>Earlier this month, a fresh leak revealed that a new Honor flagship foldable is also in the works. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/03/06/honors-magic-v4-could-be-the-thinnest-foldable-yet-with-a-200mp-telephoto-camera/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic V4 surfaced on a Weibo post</a>, which confirmed some of its key specs and features. It may sport a tall 8-inch LTPO inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution, while the cover screen is a 6.45-inch panel with LPTO and 120Hz refresh rate support. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Magic V3" class="wp-image-648752" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Honor-Magic-V3.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic V3</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>For optics, the Magic V4 is said to feature a 50MP main camera along with a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with 3x optical zoom. Other notable features include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite and an ultra slim body that measures less than 9mm.</p>

<p>While multiple brands have actively launched book-style foldables over the past few years, it seems they are taking a different approach this year. Oppo recently introduced the Oppo Find N5 in China and Southeast Asia. While the OnePlus Open 2 was expected to debut as a rebranded version in markets like India and the US, OnePlus unexpectedly announced that it would not be launching a foldable phone this year, confirming that the Open 2 is not happening. At the same time, doubts persist about Xiaomi’s plans—while the brand is expected to launch the Mix Flip 2, it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/09/mix-fold-5-could-be-skipped-this-year-but-xiaomi-remains-committed-to-large-foldables-report/">may not release the Mix Fold 5 this year</a>. Now, a new leak raises questions about the existence of the rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/vivo">Vivo</a> X Fold 4 and Huawei Mate X7.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="959" height="225" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-100.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-677802" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-100.png 959w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-100-300x70.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-100-768x180.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-100-696x163.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 959px) 100vw, 959px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Weibo post shown above from tipster Digital Chat Station, originally shared in January, listing the foldable phones expected from Chinese brands this year. These included the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a>, Honor Magic V4, Vivo X Fold 4, and Huawei Mate X7. Notably, the post did not mention the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="979" height="155" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-99.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-677801" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-99.png 979w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-99-300x47.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-99-768x122.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/image-99-696x110.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 979px) 100vw, 979px" /></figure></div>

<p>Now, in a fresh leak, the tipster states that the only remaining <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a>-powered foldable phone is the Honor Magic V4. This casts doubt on the existence of the Vivo X Fold 4 (or X Fold 4 Pro, if that was its intended name).</p>

<p>To recall, Vivo’s X Fold series has always featured the latest Snapdragon chipset. Last year, the brand launched two foldables—the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x-fold-3/">Vivo X Fold 3</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x-fold-3-pro/">X Fold 3 Pro</a> —powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, respectively. Earlier reports suggested that this year, Vivo would release only one foldable, the X Fold 4 Pro, equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/11/22/vivo-x-fold-4-leak-reveals-6000mah-battery-snapdragon-8-elite-delayed-arrival/">Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 6,000mAh battery</a>.</p>

<p>Now, the new leak hints that Vivo might either launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x-fold-4-pro/">Vivo X Fold 4 Pro</a> with a different Snapdragon chip or possibly a MediaTek SoC like the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-9400-plus">Dimensity 9400 Plus</a>. Alternatively, the brand may completely skip launching a book-style foldable this year. However, before drawing any conclusions, it would be best to wait for further reports to clarify whether the X Fold 4 Pro will be released.</p>

<p>As for the Huawei Mate X7, it is still expected to launch in the second half of this year, featuring the company’s in-house Kirin chipset. For those who are waiting for the Magic V4, Honor is expected to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/20/honor-magic-v4-tipped-for-june-launch-will-it-be-thinner-than-the-find-n5/4">unveil it in June</a> this year in China.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/">Honor</a> is reportedly gearing up to launch its next foldable, expected to be called the Magic V4, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/20/honor-magic-v4-tipped-for-june-launch-will-it-be-thinner-than-the-find-n5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">in June</a>. A new leak suggests the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite, the full-core variant, unlike the seven-core version found in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oppo Find N5</a>.</p>

<p>Now, a new leak may have spilled the beans on other key details, including display sizes, camera upgrades, and a thinner design. While the leak doesn’t explicitly name the device, all signs point to it being the Magic V4.</p>

<h2><strong>Honor Magic V4 Specifications (Expected)</strong></h2>

<p>According to DCS, the foldable will feature an 8-inch LTPO inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution. The cover display will also be LTPO with a 120Hz refresh rate, measuring 6.45 inches.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="344" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Honor-Magic-V4-specs-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-676120" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Honor-Magic-V4-specs-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Honor-Magic-V4-specs-leak-300x115.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Honor-Magic-V4-specs-leak-768x294.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Honor-Magic-V4-specs-leak-696x266.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>On the camera front, the Magic V4 is said to retain the 50MP 1/1.5-inch main sensor from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic V3</a>. However, the big upgrade could come in telephoto capabilities—the leak suggests a 200MP 1/1.4-inch sensor with 3x optical zoom, a significant jump from the 50MP zoom lens on the Magic V3. There’s likely another sensor in the mix, but details on that remain under wraps.</p>

<p>Despite the beefed-up camera hardware, the Magic V4 is expected to be thinner than 9mm, which could make it one of the slimmest foldables around. The Magic V3 previously held the crown before the Oppo Find N5 stole the title last month. If Honor wants to reclaim the throne, the Magic V4 will have to be even slimmer.</p>

<p>The foldable is also rumored to include wireless charging, an IPX8 waterproof rating, and satellite communication support. For biometrics, Honor is reportedly sticking with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display one.</p>

<p>If the leak holds up, the Magic V4 could shape up to be one of the most exciting foldables of the year. We’ll likely find out in June.</p>

Recently, tipster Digital Chat Station shared details about the Magic V4 in a Weibo post. Now, he has returned with another leak, revealing new information not only about the Magic V4 but also, for the first time, about the Magic V2 Flip.</p>

<h2><strong>Honor Magic V2 Flip</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-1024x293.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-675129" width="1024" height="293" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-1024x293.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-300x86.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-768x219.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-696x199.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146-1068x305.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-146.png 1169w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>DCS&#8217; leak reveals details about Honor Magic V2 Flip and Magic V4</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to DCS, the Honor Magic V2 Flip will feature a customized LTPO panel and be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chipset. However, the leak does not disclose other specifications of the device. For reference, last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v-flip">Honor Magic V Flip</a> came with a 6.8-inch foldable LTPO OLED display and was equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.</p>

<h2><strong>Honor Magic V4</strong></h2>

<p>The leak further reveals that the Honor Magic V4 will feature a customized LTPO internal foldable display measuring approximately 8 inches. For security, it will be equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.</p>

<p>Under the hood, the device will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chipset. In China, it will compete with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a>, which is expected to feature a 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, unlike the Find N5, the Magic V4 will likely ship with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/27/honor-magic-v4s-snapdragon-8-elite-chip-seemingly-confirmed-wont-be-the-7-core-edition-like-the-find-n5/">standard 8-core version of the chip</a>.</p>

<p>In terms of cameras, the Magic V4 will sport a 50-megapixel flagship-level primary sensor along with a telephoto camera. While it is expected to retain a periscope telephoto lens like its predecessor, the leak suggests that it will not be a flagship-grade.</p>

<p>One of the key areas of improvement for this generation is thickness reduction. The Magic V4 is expected to be thinner than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v3">Magic V3</a>, which had a 9.2mm thickness when folded.</p>

<p>Additionally, the leak hints that Honor is moving swiftly with its launch schedule, with both foldable devices expected to debut around June.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> is reportedly working on two foldable phones for the Chinese market: the Magic V4, a book-style foldable, and the Magic V2 Flip, a clamshell-style device. While rumours about the V4 have started surfacing, details about the flip phone remain scarce. In a recent development, an Honor executive has seemingly confirmed the chipset that will power the Magic V4.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic V4’s chipset revealed</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="581" height="620" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-141.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-674978" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-141.png 581w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-141-281x300.png 281w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-141-394x420.png 394w" sizes="(max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic V4 to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Oppo recently launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a> foldable phone in China and Southeast Asian markets. It is the world’s first device to feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/01/17/qualcomm-secretly-had-a-7-core-snapdragon-8-elite-and-no-one-knew/">7-core edition of the Snapdragon 8 Elite</a>, which has one less performance core than the standard 8-core version. While this results in slightly reduced processing power for demanding tasks, the real-world performance difference may be minimal. The 7-core variant is typically designed for thinner devices with limited cooling capabilities, balancing efficiency and performance. Notably, the Find N5 measures just 4.2mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded, making it the world’s thinnest foldable phone.</p>

<p>Since the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v3">Honor Magic V3</a> previously held the title of the world’s thinnest foldable until the Find N5, the Magic V4 is expected to adopt an even slimmer form factor. In a recent Weibo post (shown above), a Chinese tech blogger speculated whether the Magic V4 would also feature the 7-core <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a>, given its ultra-thin design. In response, Honor’s Flagship Mobile Phone Product Manager, Li Kun, stated that it would be equipped with the “full-blooded” (machine-translated text) version of the chipset, suggesting that the Magic V4 could feature the standard 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite.</p>

<p>The final naming of the device remains uncertain. Since Oppo skipped the &#8220;N4&#8221; moniker due to the number 4 being considered unlucky in some Asian countries, there is a possibility that Honor might also bypass the &#8220;V4&#8221; name and instead launch its next-generation foldable as the Magic V5. As far launch is concerned, it is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/20/honor-magic-v4-tipped-for-june-launch-will-it-be-thinner-than-the-find-n5/">expected to debut in June</a>.</p>

<p>Oppo has unveiled the Oppo Find N5 as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldable phone. Surprisingly, the brand has managed to slim down its design to 8.93mm in the folded state, breaking the 9.2mm record set by last year’s <a href="https://gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> Magic V3. A recent leak revealed that the Magic V4 is in the works and may debut in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/17/honor-magic-v4-tipped-to-launch-in-q2/">second quarter of this year</a>. A new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the specific month in which the device will launch. Additionally, he has also shared details of other Honor devices that are expected to launch by mid-2025.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic V4 launch timeframe (rumored)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="941" height="321" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-104.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-674148" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-104.png 941w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-104-300x102.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-104-768x262.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-104-696x237.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 941px) 100vw, 941px" /></figure></div>

<p>According to DCS, the Honor Magic V4 is set to debut in China in June. Like its predecessor, it will feature an ultra-thin design. While it&#8217;s unclear if it will be slimmer than the <a href="https://gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5">Find N5</a>, it is expected to be a few millimetres thinner, maintaining the standard set by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/02/17/honor-magic-v4-tipped-to-launch-in-q2/https;/www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v3">Magic V3</a>.</p>

<h3><strong>Upcoming Honor devices</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="973" height="94" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-105.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-674149" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-105.png 973w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-105-300x29.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-105-768x74.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-105-696x67.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 973px) 100vw, 973px" /></figure></div>

<p>Apart from Magic V4, the brand is also working on a couple of new phones, which may launch by mid-2025. These include the Honor 400 series, Magic V2 Flip, and GT Pro.</p>

<p>DCS did not share any information about the specifications of the upcoming Honor devices. However, it appears that the Magic V4 may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The tipster also revealed that the Vivo X Fold 4 will launch in quick succession after the Magic V4.</p>

<p>Reports suggest that Xiaomi may not launch a book-style foldable phone. As far as Huawei is concerned, it may launch the Mate X7 in the second half of this year.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Magic V4 launch timeframe (rumored)</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-71.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-673496" width="790" height="200" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-71.png 852w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-71-300x76.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-71-768x195.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-71-696x176.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 790px) 100vw, 790px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic V4 to launch by May end or early June</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to tech blogger Fixed Focus Digital, the Honor Magic V4 is set to launch by the end of May or early June in China. Unfortunately, nothing concrete is known about the specifications of the device.</p>

<p>The <a href="https;/www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-magic-v3">Honor Magic V3</a>, measuring only 9.2mm when folded and just 4.3mm when unfolded, is a remarkably thin book-style foldable phone currently available in the market. The upcoming Oppo Find N5, with a thin profile of only 8.93mm in the folded state, will dethrone the Magic V3 to become the world’s slimmest foldable phone.</p>

<p>Given Honor&#8217;s focus on slimness with the Magic V3, the Magic V4 could push the boundaries further, potentially utilizing even more advanced materials and hinge designs to reclaim the &#8220;thinnest foldable&#8221; title from the <a href="https://gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-n5">Oppo Find N5</a>. There’s a possibility that it may come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Another source Smart Pikachu has hinted that the Magic V4 will pack a battery of around 6,000mAh capacity. The leak also suggests that the Magic V Flip 2 will also launch in the first half of 2025 in China.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="869" height="237" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-70.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-673495" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-70.png 869w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-70-300x82.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-70-768x209.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/image-70-696x190.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px" /><figcaption>Honor Magic 4 and Magic V Flip 2 inital details leaked</figcaption></figure>

<p>To recall, the Honor Magic V3 features a 7.92-inch foldable OLED panel and a 6.43-inch outer screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. For security, it features a side-facing fingerprint sensor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered device comes with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.</p>

<p>The foldable phone packs a 5,150mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It has a pair of 20-megapixel cameras, one on the cover screen and one on the internal display. The rear camera setup of the device features an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel primary camera, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.</p>

<p>Foldable phones are rapidly evolving, with 2025 set to bring some of the most innovative and advanced models to date. Advancements in hinge design, display technology, and software optimization are converging to create a new generation of foldables that are more durable, powerful, and user-friendly than ever before.</p>

<p>As the competition intensifies, major players like Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and others are gearing up to release cutting-edge foldable devices that could redefine the smartphone market. Here&#8217;s a look at the top five foldable phones to watch in 2025.</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei Mate X6</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="914" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-914x1024.webp?x44794" alt="Huawei Mate X5" class="wp-image-626442" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-914x1024.webp 914w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-268x300.webp 268w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-768x860.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-696x780.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x-375x420.webp 375w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/huawei-mate-x5-violet@2x.webp 1000w" sizes="(max-width: 914px) 100vw, 914px" /><figcaption>Huawei Mate X5</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Huawei Mate X6 is expected to debut in November 2024 in China. It may hit the global markets in 2025. Unfortunately, there is no concrete information about the X6’s specifications. However, since the brand recently launched the Mate XT, the world&#8217;s first tri-foldable smartphone, the Mate X6 is expected to receive a lot of attention from phone enthusiasts worldwide.</p>

<p>According to a recent Weibo <a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/OyUbjqz7G">post</a> by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, the supply chain for the Huawei Mate X6 is ramping up, indicating increased production orders. This suggests that Huawei is strengthening its position in the high-end, 10,000 Yuan+ (~$1,415) smartphone market. The Mate X6 is expected to be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/19/nova-13-series-mate-70-series-and-mate-x6-foldable-launch-timeframe-tipped/">released around November</a>, and there are no competing products anticipated to launch at the same time. The only potential competition is a foldable device (likely the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/23/oppo-find-n4-oneplus-open-2-launch-timeframe-chipset-battery-size-tipped/">Oppo Find N5</a>) powered by the Qualcomm SM8750, which is expected to be released in Q1 of next year, with most other foldables following in Q2 or Q3.</p>

<h2><strong>Oppo Find N5 &nbsp;</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="558" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-1024x558.jpg?x44794" alt="Oppo Find N3" class="wp-image-651130" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-1024x558.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-300x163.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-768x418.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-1536x837.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-2048x1116.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-696x379.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-1068x582.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-1920x1046.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Oppo-Find-N3-771x420.jpg 771w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Oppo Find N3</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Oppo is reportedly working on the successor to last year’s Oppo Find N3 foldable phone. As per reports, the company may adopt the Oppo Find N5 for its next foldable phone, possibly avoiding the number &#8220;4&#8221; due to cultural superstitions in Asia, and may be branded as the Find N5 instead of the Find N4. It is expected to debut in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/05/22/oppo-find-n5-oppo-pad-3-launch-timeline/">the first quarter of 2025</a>.</p>

<p>The Find N5 is anticipated to be one of the first foldable phones powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> (aka. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4). It will likely feature a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/04/oppo-find-n5-leak-reveals-launch-timeframe-snapdragon-8-gen-4-chip-display-camera-details-and-more/">2K+ resolution screen</a>, a 50-megapixel Sony triple camera with a periscope lens, and a 6,000mAh battery, marking a significant improvement from its predecessor&#8217;s 4,800mAh battery. The device will boast a thinner, lighter design with enhanced durability and some level of waterproofing, running ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 in China. The device is also expected to have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/29/oppo-releases-video-to-demo-find-x8-series-magnetic-wireless-charging-find-n5-may-support-wireless-charging/">wireless charging</a>.</p>

<h2><strong>OnePlus Open 2</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="828" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Open" class="wp-image-576379" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1-300x276.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1-768x707.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1-696x640.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/OnePlus-Open-1-457x420.jpg 457w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>OnePlus Open</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>This Find N5 is expected to launch in China and other Southeast Asian markets, while it could be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in regions like India and the US. The specifics about its availability in Europe remain unclear.</p>

<h2><strong>Vivo X Fold 4</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-1024x640.png?x44794" alt="Vivo X Fold 3 Pro" class="wp-image-630179" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Vivo-X-Fold-3-Pro-1.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Vivo X Fold 3 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Our <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/30/exclusive-vivo-already-developing-vivo-x-fold4/">recent report</a> revealed an upcoming Vivo device with model number V2429 will debut in the market as the Vivo X Fold 4. According to recent leaks, it will be one of the first foldable phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite (aka Snapdragon 8 Gen 4) chipset. The device is anticipated to feature a circular camera module on the back, comprising a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.</p>

<p>The Vivo X Fold 4 will sport a silicon battery with an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/26/vivo-x-fold-4-key-specifications-leaked/">approximate capacity of 6,000mAh</a> and will support wireless charging. It will also boast an IPX8 water resistance rating. When folded, the phone will have a thickness of about 8.x mm, and the fibreglass variant will weigh around 21x grams. As far as the launch is concerned, it is expected to break cover as in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/17/vivo-x-fold-4-oppo-find-n5-chipset-launch-timeframe-tipped/">Q1 or Q2 2025</a>.</p>

<p>The existing X Fold 3 series includes two models, such as the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro, that are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. While the existence of the X Fold 4 has been confirmed, there is no clarity whether there will be a Pro variant. &nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6" class="wp-image-638878" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-1920x1440.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/20240710_152213-265x198.jpg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Samsung has been launching foldable phones since 2019. The brand, which is currently leading the foldable smartphone market, is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July 2025. At present, it is too early for the rumor mill to leak concrete details about it.</p>

<p>Considering that the Galaxy Z Fold 6&#8217;s design closely resembles its predecessors, Samsung may introduce the Z Fold 7 with a new design. With competing brands offering top-notch cameras on their foldable phones, it is likely that the Z Fold 7 will come with an improved set of cameras. The previous iterations from the Z Fold 3 to the Z Fold 6 have featured a 4,400mAh battery. Hopefully, the Z Fold 7 will arrive with an increased battery size.</p>
