Honor has released two new laptops in India, the MagicBook X14 Pro and X16 Pro 2024, available now on Amazon. These laptops come with a range of offers that make them a good deal for people looking for a new device.

Honor MagicBook X14/X16 Pro 2024 specs:

Both the X14 Pro and X16 Pro are made from aluminum, making them light but sturdy. The X14 Pro is just 1.4 kg and 16.5mm thick, while the X16 Pro is slightly heavier and thicker at 1.7 kg and 17.9mm. Inside, they’re powered by the 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H processor, so they should run smoothly.

For visuals, the X14 Pro has a 14-inch FHD screen and the X16 Pro has a 16-inch FHD screen, both with thin bezels for a better viewing experience. They come with up to 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, and run on Windows 11 Home. They’re designed to stay cool with a special cooling fan, and the 60Wh battery promises up to 12 hours of use. They also have several ports, including USB-C, HDMI, USB-A, and a headphone/mic jack.

Pricing & availability

Prices start at Rs 54,490 for the MagicBook X14 Pro with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, and go up to Rs 58,490 for the X16 Pro with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Customers can take advantage of an exchange offer that could knock off up to Rs 16,900 from the price. There’s also a Rs 5,000 discount for those who pay with HDFC or SBI credit cards, and EMI options start from Rs 2,642 per month.

Last month at MWC 2024, Honor unveiled its MagicBook Pro 16 AI-powered laptop featuring Intel’s new Core Ultra processors. It has now debuted in China, standing out as the first laptop to use a non-standard non-binary RAM capacity of 24GB (LPDDR5X-6400).

This new non-binary capacity, along with 12GB and 48GB is expected to become more prevalent for laptops in the coming days, providing customers with a relatively affordable option to get a higher memory variant, rather than just doubling the capacity.

The 24GB RAM configuration is currently available for pre-reservation with the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H chip. At MWC, the brand revealed that the laptop also has a higher-end configuration powered by a Core Ultra 7 155H and an Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU.

The laptop offers a 16-inch 3072 x 1920 resolution display with up to 165Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% coverage of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The laptop caps out at 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, so it likely won’t have a 48GB RAM variant. Other than that, it has a large 75Wh battery, a fingerprint reader, a 3.5 mm jack, an HDMI, a Thunderbolt 4, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C.

Honor MagicBook Pro 16 AI-powered laptop launched at MWC: Intel Core Ultra 7 & RTX 4060 GPU

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, Honor introduced the Honor MagicBook Pro 16, an AI-enhanced laptop, alongside their new flagship smartphone, the Magic 6 Pro.

The laptop features a sleek metal body, which is just 17.9mm thick and weighs around 1.86kg. It offers an elegant 93% screen-to-body ratio, with super slim bezels around its 16-inch display. Talking about the display, it comes with a 3072 x 1920 resolution panel, offering a 165Hz refresh rate, 100% coverage of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Additionally, it offers a 16:10 aspect ratio for improved productivity, as well as TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing. For Audio, the laptop has six speakers onboard.

Under the hood, the laptop is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H, which is a powerful yet energy-efficient processor. The integration of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card makes the laptop ideal for both professional and gaming applications. It features 32GB of RAM and 1TB storage.

A key feature of the MagicBook Pro 16 is its AI-based OS Turbo X, which allows users to activate a 140W High-Performance Mode for optimal processing power with minimal latency. The laptop’s smart scheduling and tuning adapt to user habits, providing a customized computing experience.

The laptop offers seamless device integration through MagicRing, enabling easy transfer and synchronization of tasks and notifications across devices. AI-powered functions like Smart Picture Search and Smart Document Summary further make the MagicBook Pro 16 more appealing in this AI-powered laptop generation.

The MagicBook Pro 16 boasts a 75Wh battery, delivering an impressive 10 hours in PCMark 10’s battery test, according to Honor. Additionally, it features a fingerprint reader that provides secure Windows Hello authentication. It has a 3.5 mm jack, an HDMI, a Thunderbolt 4, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C.

Currently, Honor has not disclosed details about the pricing and availability of the MagicBook Pro 16, however, it is expected to land in China first, and the global launch will likely happen around Q2 2024.

Honor MagicBook Pro 16 runs Geekbench, alleged box image leaked

Honor has officially announced the launch of the MagicBook Pro 16 at MWC 2024, set for February 25th. Ahead of its release, the laptop made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking platform.

Listed under the model number DRA-XX, the Geekbench listing shows that the MagicBook Pro 16 will boast an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor paired with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 graphics card.

In the Geekbench 6.2.2 CPU test, it scored 2427 points in single-core operations and 12994 points in multi-core scenarios. The RTX 4060 graphics card achieved a score of 42263 points in the OpenCL Compute test.

Additionally, an image of the retail box for the purported Honor MagicBook Pro 16 laptop has surfaced on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform. The box prominently features design elements from Honor’s gaming-focused sub-brand, “Hunter.”

This detail, coupled with the dedicated RTX 4060 GPU, suggests that the laptop will offer a degree of gaming prowess in addition to general productivity tasks.

Further information comes from the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) website, where Honor laptops with model numbers DRA-72 and DRA-54 have secured certification. These listings indicate that the laptops will come with either 100W or 200W power adapters.

The upcoming MagicBook Pro 16 is a due update to the lineup. For context, the last major update to Honor’s MagicBook Pro line was in 2021.

The 2021 version of the MagicBook Pro 16 offered configurations with up to an NVIDIA RTX 3050 graphics card and had a starting price of 6199 yuan.

Honor is touting the new laptop as an “epoch-making AI PC,” and its promotional material revealed so far suggests advantages in multi-device connectivity compared to offerings from competitors like Samsung and Apple. We will know more about the device in the next week.
