Honor has shared an early look at a new tablet in its MagicPad lineup, this time a 12.3-inch version of the MagicPad 3 Pro. Unlike the larger model from last year, this one seems to focus more on design and display rather than pushing for top-end performance.

The details were posted by Lin Lin from Honor’s Smart Life division, along with a few official images. The company is calling it more of an “aesthetic flagship,” which gives a rough idea of where it sits in the lineup. The bigger 13.3-inch model still handles the performance side of things.

Up front, there’s a 12.3-inch OLED display with slim bezels. One of the more notable features here is support for 5280Hz PWM dimming, which is meant to reduce eye strain during longer use. That’s something we’ve been seeing more often lately, especially on devices aimed at reading or content consumption.

Design is clearly a big part of the pitch. The tablet comes in a space gray finish, and it’s quite thin, around 4.8mm, while weighing roughly 440g. That should make it easy to carry around. The back includes a camera module with a ring-style flash, and there are contact points that suggest support for accessories like a keyboard.

Honor also mentions IMAX Enhanced certification, which typically relates to improved picture and audio tuning. It doesn’t always translate directly into a noticeable difference for everyone, but it’s there as an added feature.

The idea here seems to be offering two slightly different takes under the same series: one focused on performance, the other leaning more toward portability and display comfort. The earlier 13.3-inch MagicPad 3 Pro set the tone with higher-end specs, while this smaller version looks like it’s trying to balance things a bit differently.

There’s no official word yet on pricing or full specifications for this model. That should become clearer once Honor announces it more formally.

AnTuTu’s December 2025 Android tablet performance rankings clearly show a segment shaped by limited chipset refreshes and selective manufacturer participation. The data, collected globally outside mainland China using AnTuTu Benchmark V11, reflects average benchmark scores rather than peak figures, ensuring consistency and reliability.

The Honor MagicPad 3 Pro 13.3 takes the top position with a commanding average score of 4,051,634, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Honor is currently the only brand to introduce this new-generation flagship chipset to the tablet market, giving the MagicPad a substantial performance lead over all competitors. The gap is large enough to place it in a separate performance tier.

Second place is claimed by the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro, running the Snapdragon 8 Elite, with an average score of 3,399,451. While still highly capable, it falls well behind Honor’s latest offering due to the older chipset. The Legion Pad Y700 Gen 4 follows in third place, also using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, achieving an average score of 3,168,903.

Other entries in the top ten include gaming-focused tablets from Red Magic and Lenovo, as well as productivity-oriented models from Samsung and Xiaomi, many of which rely on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ or older Snapdragon platforms. These devices deliver strong performance but lack the raw computing power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

AnTuTu reiterates that tablet scores are influenced by thermal conditions, system versions, and sustained workload behavior. Devices with insufficient benchmark samples are excluded, and cross-version score comparisons are not supported.

Honor MagicPad 3 Pro: Design & Display

The Chinese brand just unveiled the MagicPad 3 Pro in its home market with flagship levels specs. However, the brand didn’t skip out on the design and display either. Despite its large screen and massive battery, the MagicPad 3 Pro measures just 5.79mm thick and weighs 595 grams. So Honor’s premium tablet easily takes on the likes of Apple’s iPad Pros. This device is also bundled with a smart touch keyboard and stylus.

On the front, we have one of its biggest features. A large and gorgeous 13.3-inch LCD panel that has a 3.2K resolution, HDR10, up to 1100 nits of peak brightness, an IMAX Enhanced and HDR Vivid certification, 91 percent screen to body ratio, and DC dimming. Honor uses AI to bring AI defocus eye protection, AI dry eye care, and much more to improve the visual experience. It is great for gaming as well, featuring the industry’s first 165Hz (lowers down to 30Hz) and 270Hz touch sampling rate.

Honor has launched the world’s fastest Android tablet thanks to Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. This chip brings upgrades in performance, energy efficiency, gaming, and AI tasks. Coupling this with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, this is undoubtedly a flagship grade tablet. Keeping these beefy specs cool is a stainless steel VC system with a total heat dissipation area of ​​65485mm².

Out of the box, the MagicPad 3 Pro runs on the Android 16 OS based MagicOS 6 custom skin, which also brings various useful AI powered tools. A massive 12,450mAh battery pack powers this model that supports 80W wired fast charging (66W adapter in the box) and 23W reverse charging as well. Other notable features include dual band WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, an eight speaker setup with 3D spatial audio, 3 microphones, and Honor’s new YOYO AI.

As per reports, the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro will feature a 13.3-inch LCD screen with support for a 3.2K resolution of 3200 x 2136 pixels and a 165Hz refresh rate. The device will run on MagicOS 10-based Android 16.

The MagicPad 3 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a 12,450mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. For photography, it may feature a 9-megapixel camera on the front and a 13-megapixel primary sensor on the back.

The event isn’t just about phones. Honor also plans to unveil the MagicPad 3, MagicPad 3 Pro, Magic Watch 5 Pro, and a new pair of Earbuds 4, all launching on the same day. 

Among these, the MagicPad 3 Pro will make headlines as the first tablet powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This is the same flagship processor that will also power the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro. The regular MagicPad 3, meanwhile, is rumored to feature last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

What to expect?

Getting back to the phones, the Honor Magic 8 Pro will feature a 6.7-inch micro-quad-curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

It could pack a 7,200mAh battery with support for 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging. On the back, the Pro model may carry a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, also with optical stabilization. A 50-megapixel selfie camera is expected up front. The phone will come in Rising Sun Gold, Azure, Snow White, and Velvet Black finishes.

The standard Magic 8 is rumored to offer a 6.58-inch flat display with the same 1.5K resolution, paired with a 7,000mAh battery and 90W fast charging. It likely skips wireless charging but might keep a similar camera setup with 50-megapixel primary, 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

Color options for the Magic 8 may include black, white, light blue, and gold.

Honor has confirmed that its next high-end tablet, the MagicPad 3 Pro, will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The company shared the news following Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, and plans to launch the tablet in China in October alongside the Magic 8 series flagships.

The MagicPad 3 Pro is positioned as a more capable alternative to the MagicPad 3 released in July. The earlier model used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and earned praise for performance but showed limits in sustained workloads. Qualcomm says the Gen 5 platform brings a 20% CPU uplift, a 23% GPU boost, and a 37% faster Hexagon NPU compared with the previous generation, which should help with multitasking, generative AI-based on-device workloads, and gaming.

The teaser also confirms the design of the MagicPad 3 Pro, which looks identical to the standard model. That includes the squarcle camera island with two lenses, a flash, and branding, along with the same button placement, Honor logo in the middle of the back panel, and an overall flat design. It will likely keep the aluminum build of its predecessor.

The MagicPad 3 already offers a large 13.3-inch display for a tablet, and reports suggest the upcoming Pro model will retain the same size. The standard version features a 3.2K (3200 x 2136 pixels) LCD panel with up to a 165Hz refresh rate.
