Smartphone brand, Honor has announced that the flagship Honor Note 10 8GB RAM version will be officially launched at 10 AM tomorrow. The model is presently listed on Honor’s official flagship store on Jingdong (JD.com) for 3,599 yuan and will be available in Magic Night Black and Phantom Blue.

Honor Note 10 was first announced on July 31 in China and officially went on sale on August 1. The device comes in 6GB RAM and 8 GB models. Only the 6GB RAM went on sale until now. The 8GB RAM model has a 128GB expandable storage onboard and carries a 3599 yuan price tag (~$524).

The Honor Note 10 comes with an expansive 6.95-inch AMOLED display having 600 nits brightness and 70,000:1 contrast ratio. The display has a resolution of 2220×1080 pixels. The device is powered by a Kirin 970 chipset with up to 8GB RAM option and a gigantic 5000mAh battery to keep you running for more than a day. The phone supports 5V 4.5A super fast charging that’ll ensure that it gets topped up in around 2 hours. For photography, the Honor Note 10 features a 16MP + 24MP f/1.8 dual camera set up at the rear with AIS (AI image stabilisation) technology which will also aid in improving night photography.

The Honor Note 10 is expected to be launched on July 31 and Huawei has released an official invitation to that effect. Ahead of its launch, the device has also made an appearance recently on China’s telecoms regulatory agency’s website – TENAA. The listing gave us an insight into the specifications of the device. One of the details revealed includes the presence of a 2220 x 1080p AMOLED display.

Before now, there were reports that Huawei has purchased a large inventory of 2K AMOLED display panels from Samsung and it was speculated to be for use on the Honor Note 10. That seems not to be the case but there’s a catch. Some internet users have disclosed via a post on Baidu that Huawei plans to utilize a new technology known as AI2k on the Honor Note 10. As suggested by the name, the technology makes use of Artificial Intelligence in order to enable the 1080p resolution display on the device to achieve 2K image quality. A teaser poster released by Honor had earlier shown the Note 10 would come with artificial intelligence.

The 1080p display which the device is expected to feature ordinarily helps in reducing CPU and GPU load as well as improving battery life. But with this new technology, the display would be able to offer more than 1080p resolution. This could be done in a way similar to what Nvidia did in 2014 with its Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) which offers 4K quality on a 1080p resolution. We’ll have to wait to find out how the technology works when it is unveiled. The Honor Note is also tipped by Netizens to feature some other “scary” technology which will meet with us on July 31.

Huawei’s Honor brand has kept the media buzzing with teasers centred on the expected Honor Note 10. Some details of the device have also appeared online. According to reports from China, Huawei officially shared a post on its Pollen club which seems to suggest that the Honor Note 10 will be launched later this month. The company is yet to reveal the exact date the launch would happen but that should be done any moment from now.

The Honor Note 10 is yet another flagship device from Huawei which is expected to feature a massive size screen. Details of the device show that it would feature a 6.9-inch QHD+ display. Apart from packing the flagship Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset, the device is expected to have Huawei’s latest GPU Turbo technology onboard.

In addition, the Huawei Honor Note 10 phablet is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Of course, there could be other memory variants. The device will also have a dual camera setup at the rear which would be a 16MP + 24 MP combo while at the front is a 24MP sensor. The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.
