At IFA 2020, apart from launching HONOR Watch GS Pro, HONOR Watch ES, HONOR MagicBook Pro 2020 Ryzen Edition, and HONOR MagicBook 14/15 2020 Ryzen Edition, the brand also announced HONOR Pad 6 and HONOR Pad X6 for Europe. Unlike the other products, the company did not reveal the pricing and availability of its new tablets for the market.

HONOR Pad 6 and HONOR Pad X6

The newly announced Honor tablets for European countries are identical to each other. They initially launched in China in the month of July alongside the above-mentioned AMD Ryzen-powered laptops that debuted today for Europe at IFA 2020.

The only major differences between these tablets are their screen size, memory configuration, LTE support, and color. Apart from these two parameters, both of them feature an exact same chassis as well as features.

Talking about the dissimilarities first, the HONOR Pad 6 sports a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 224ppi, 70% NTSC color gamut, and 80.6% screen-to-body ratio. As a bonus, this panel is certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light emission. Further, it will be available in two memory variants – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB respectively. Although it will only come in Space Gray color, users can opt for either WiFi-only or WiFi + LTE edition.

On the other hand, the HONOR Pad X6 comes equipped with a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 156ppi, 60% color gamut, and 75% screen-to-body ratio. Unlike the other model, it will be only available in a single WiFi-only 3GB + 32GB variant in Neo Mint pain job.

As for common features, they are powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710A SoC manufactured by SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation). For optics, they come with a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. Also, both of them use IPS LCD panel with 16.7 million colors and 10-point multi-touch.

Surprisingly, they don’t feature 3.5mm headphone jack and hence, the brand will include a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adaptor in the box. But they don’t miss on the essentials like dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-speaker with HUAWEI Histen 6.1 surround sound technology, and microSD card slot (up to 512GB). 

Last but not least, they run Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10 with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) backed by a 5,100mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

Huawei’s Honor brand has announced that it will hold a keynote event at IFA 2020 in Berlin.  The event will be held on September 4 and is promoted with the theme “expand your smart life”.

The company has now shared a teaser which confirms a smartwatch will be among the products to launch in September. The smartwatch is the Honor Watch GS Pro which has been confirmed by CEO. Details of the smartwatch are still not known but the watch is expected to feature a round shape with buttons at the side. It is also said to be designed for mountain lovers.

Honor is also expected to launch two new tablets dubbed Honor Pad 6 and Honor Pad X6. The Honor Pad X6 was launched in China as Tablet X6 with a starting price of around $155. The tablet features a 9.7-inch screen while the Pad 6 features a bigger 10.1-inch panel.

In addition, the tech giant will also launch a new Magicbook laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 4000 CPUs.

The launch event will hold at 11.25 AM on September 4.

A few days back, Honor launched 2020 Ryzen Editions of MagicBook Pro and MagicBook 14/15 in China. At the same event, the brand also unveiled two new tablets and one of them was Honor Pad 6. This tablet was scheduled to go on sale on July 28. But due to harsh weather conditions and flood, the company has officially delayed the sale.

Honor Pad 6, which we called Honor Tab 6 during its launch is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710A manufactured by SMIC. It comes in a number of storage options and is also available in both only WiFi as well as 4G variants.

The tablet went on sale for the first time on the launch day (July 16) itself for a limited quantity. However, the first official sale was scheduled for July 28, which happens to be tomorrow. But last night, the brand officially announced on Weibo regarding the pushing of sale date to August 14 on account of the weather.

Also, the post notes that customers who pre-ordered can cancel to avail refund if they don’t want to wait that long. But if they can cope up with the delay, the brand will offer 50 yuan ($7) discount coupon as an apology.

Having said that, here’s the pricing of the new Honor Pad 6 in China.

• 4GB + 64GB (Wi-Fi only) – 1,399 yuan ($200)
