<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Huawei and Honor executives have confirmed to </span><a href="https://suomimobiili.fi/omistatko-vanhemman-honor-puhelimen-huawei-vastaa-siita-jatkossa/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">SuomiMobiili.fi</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> (via </span><a href="https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_will_provide_firmware_updates_for_all_honor_phones_released_before_april_1_2021-news-49789.php"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">GSMArena</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">) that older HONOR-branded smartphones will continue to receive software updates. However, this support will come from the brand’s then-parent company Huawei.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Only select handset models released before April 1, 2021 will be eligible for this scheme. That’s because Honor’s exit from Huawei took place between March and April of this year.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">As per Joonas Nurmela, Huawei’s Chief Public Relations and Communications Manager, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/HONOR/"><span style="font-weight: 400">HONOR</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">-branded smartphones will get full product support, including standard security and software updates like the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/HUAWEI/"><span style="font-weight: 400">HUAWEI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">-branded models throughout their lifecycle. The executive even revealed the list of eligible handsets.</span></p>
