Huawei’s Honor brand today officially rolled out a special offer for the Honor V10 on JD.com. The offer affects the 6GB + 64GB variant of the device which is now offered for 2099 yuan ($306). The device earlier had a further 100 yuan price cut and was sold briefly for 1999 yuan ($291). This is a surprise price cut which has seen the price of the device drop by 999 yuan. The Honor V10 was announced with a 2,999 yuan price tag for the 6GB + 64GB variant.

The Honor V10 comes in as a mid-range model but with flagship specs. The device was launched late last year packing a Kirin 970 chipset which is Huawei’s 2017 flagship chipset.  It sports a 5.99-inch full-screen display with the 18:9 aspect ratio. The device packs a dual 16MP + 20M camera a the rear with PDAF while at the front is a 13MP sensor said to have AI capabilities.

The smartphone runs Android-Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box and should get EMUI 9.0 in no distant time. It packs a 3750mAh battery with 5V/4.5A super fast charge. Honor V10, the smartphone that was unveiled in China last month, went on sale today in China. According to the company, the smartphone was sold out within minutes of opening the flash sale.

This was expected given that the Honor V10 smartphone received massive interest on China-based online retailer JD.com. The retailer had revealed that it received over 570,000 registrations to purchase the smartphone.

The Honor V10 will again go on sale next week on 12th December. The company has announced that five lucky owners of the V10 will receive Huawei Honor Band A2. To be eligible for the contest, buyers will have to share a screenshot of their purchase.

The smartphone features a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device comes with a metal body with ultra-slim design, measuring just 6.97mm in thickness.

Under the hood, the Honor V10 is powered by a Kirin 970 chipset, which comes with a built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The phone is said to have a visual, auditory, learning, cognitive, computing, and decision-making ability.

There are three memory variants of the smartphone — 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The camera aspect is piloted by a 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel dual camera setup at the rear. On the front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel shooter with AI features.

It runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system based EMUI 8.0 out-of-the-box. The phone packs a 3,750mAh battery with support for 5V/4.5A super fast charge. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The smartphone also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor which also doubles as the home button.

The Honor V10 is available in Magic Black, Aurora Blue, Beach Gold and Charm Red colour variant. As for the prices, the 4GB + 64GB variant costs 2699 Yuan (~$409). The price rises to 2,999 Yuan (~$454) for the 6GB + 64GB version while the 6GB + 128GB version is priced at 3,499 Yuan (~$530).

Huawei is expected to launch the Honor V10 on November 28, which is tomorrow. Ahead of the impending launch event, the Honor V10 has appeared on TENAA, thus revealing the real pictures of the device and some of its key specifications.

The TENAA document shows that the Honor V10 will present with a 5.99-inch TFT display with FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. That gives it the 18:9 aspect ratio. The display size is very much evident in the picture of the front aspect. however, one surprising inclusion is the front home key which definitely also doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The Honor V10 is also listed with a 2.35GHz processor believed to be the Kirin 970 chip. Already, Huawei had disclosed the device will launch with a Kirin 970 chip and also, the press invitation for the China launch event was a teaser of the AI capability of the upcoming smartphone. The processor will pair with a 6GB RAM while there is a 64GB storage variant as well as a higher 128GB version. Both storages are expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

In addition, the smartphone features a 3950mAh battery which should be just enough to provide extended usage. Huawei is expected to launch what should be its last flagship smartphone for the year later this month. The Honor V10 will be going official on December 5 in London, UK for the global market but before then, it would be unveiled in China on November 28.
