Ever since Huawei announced EMUI 10.1 / Magic UI 3.1 in late March, it has been rolling out beta builds to eligible devices in China. After almost two months of testing, the company has now begun to release stable builds for certain devices. Earlier today, we reported the arrival of EMUI 10.1 stable update for Huawei P30 series and MatePad Pro. Now, Huawei Nova 6 series and Honor V30 series are getting a similar treatment.

So far, Huawei / Honor has managed to roll out EMUI 10.1 / Magic UI 3.1 stable update for 7 devices including a tablet. The latest batch of devices to get the update are the ones listed below.

• Huawei Nova 6 5G
• Huawei Nova 6
• Huawei Nova 6 SE
• Honor V30
• Honor V30 Pro

Before these devices, the stable update was first available for Huawei P30, P30 Pro, and MatePad Pro.

Anyway, it is worth noting that the update for the above-mentioned devices is limited to China only. Also, uses will have to register in Huawei Club app to receive the update. The wider rollout for these devices will begin based on feedback from the early adopters.

We except more devices to receive stable builds in the coming days, especially those models that entered Open Beta channel last week. Nevertheless, Huawei and Honor are yet to announce the global rollout of EMUI 10.1 and Magic UI 3.1.

Honor V30 Pro launched late last year scores only 76 points in DxOMark Selfie. The score is too less for a phone with 122 points for its rear cameras. On top of it, the device ain’t champ in audio either with a substandard score of 59 points.

The pictures from the phone’s front camera have unnatural low contrast on faces as well as exposure instabilities across different shots. But target exposure on the face is mostly accurate in all conditions. Further, the images also suffer from limited dynamic range resulting in highlight clipping in challenging high-contrast scenes.

The pictures also tend to have problems with colours. Saturation is quite low with unnatural skin tones. White balance is unstable producing color casts and there is noticeable colour-shading in low-light shots.

The fixed focus with a large image sensor results in poor focus performance. Images lack sharpness and focus if the subject is either too close or far away from the phone. This handset is not suitable for clicking pictures using a selfie stick.

The properly shot pictures from the Honor V30 Pro’s selfie camera have good textures, however, beautification erodes away fine detail. Noise is well-controlled in ideal lighting but becomes more visible indoors and low-light scenarios. Additionally, the bokeh mode on the phone is unstable with noticeable exposure and white balance instabilities.

On the other hand, videos from the front camera have good details, thanks to 4K quality. Target exposure on face and white balance are stable outdoors and under typical indoor lighting. The stabilization performance is also good with keeping the video smooth and steady.

But the cons of photography continues in videography as well. The videos have visible highlight clipping on faces and in the background in high-contrast scenes. Also, the videos have poor color rendering with low saturation on skin tones. There are also visible hue shift, ringing artifcats, and narrow depth of field.

In general, the Honor V30 Pro is not suitable for selfies just like it is for audio. However, the phone’s rear cameras perform extremely well.

Honor V30 Pro launched in November 2019 gets tested by DxOMark Audio team. Sadly, the phone only scores 59 points, which is just a single point more than the Realme X2 Pro. As a result, the handset ranks 15th, which is a far cry from the top 10.

Being a phone with a single speaker system, Honor V30 Pro performs terribly in spatial. The wideness in playback is non-existent as well as balance and localizability are impaired since the sound comes from a single side.

The timbre performance is decent but the lack of bass is clearly felt, which in turn affects the overall timbre and dynamics of the playback audio.  But clear and precise high-ends result in good attack.

Once again, volume performance is decent with good consistency and natural volume steps. However, excessive compression affects audio content at maximum volume levels as well as leads to distortion by producing hissing noises.

As for recording, the phone performs much better than its playback. The recording frequency is very good and consistent with exceptional bass extension. The dynamics are well-preserved due to great SNR (signal-to-noise ratio).

The spatial performance is remarkable with excellent localizability and wideness. Recorded loudness is also superb with very few artifacts, even in loud environments. Background rendering is great as well, thanks to a natural tonal balance and all the above-mentioned recording qualities.

Overall, the Honor V30 Pro is a good phone for recording but an average handset for playback.

Huawei introduced EMUI 10.1 alongside the P40 series last month. Since then, the company has announced a list of eligible devices and even updated some of them with a closed beta build in China. As for Honor devices, the new EMUI iteration is known as Magic UI 3.1 and only one device has received it so far. But now, the brand has started rolling out the update to more devices such as Honor 20 series, Honor V30 series, and Honor V20. 

Huawei has been seeding out EMUI 10.1 closed beta updates to multiple devices over the past few days. The first batch of devices included the P30 Series and Mate 30 series, which was later followed by Nova 5 series and Honor 20S (Magic UI 3.1). Recently, even the company’s first 5G smartphone, the Mate 20X 5G also got the update.

With that being said, the new set of Honor smartphones that are currently receiving the Magic UI 3.1 closed beta update in China are as listed below.

Whereas, the update for Honor V30 ( OXF-AN00) and Honor V30 Pro (OXF-AN10) bear the build number Magic UI 3.1.0.75.

In the smartphone industry, DxOMark has established itself as a renowned benchmarking authority for mobile photography and videography. In the camera photography area, the Honor V30 Pro received an impressive 133 points with its zoom feature being the most highlighted and well received aspect of the camera module. It also achieved 100 points in videography and received praise for its stabilization methods, quick autofocus and color reproduction.

Honor’s V30 series featured a Matrix Camera technology for systemic imaging technology framework through software and hardware collaboration. In simpler terms, the handset was well optimized with capable hardware and well programmed algorithm software which helped it achieve an industry leading score. The camera module sports the customized Sony IMX600 RYYB 40-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture as the main lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 12-megapixel cine lens with f/2.2 aperture with 109-degree field-of-view.

Notably, Xiong Junmin, the Vice President of Honor, took the scores as an opportunity to claim that higher pixel count doesn’t translate to better images but a combination of optics, sensors, chips, algorithms, and more do, something that have also been backed up by the ratings. This was shared on the senior executives official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website.

Besides having the most amazing design, Oppo Reno3 Pro even comes with a more convincing display, alongside the Realme X2 Pro. It is a 6.5-inch panel with very high color accuracy and image reproduction. It comes with high DCI P3 coverage, a high HDR10+ and a 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as a very high brightness. Realme X2 Pro is more or less at the same level. Honor V30 Pro has a disappointing display if we consider that it is a flagship: it comes with a classic IPS panel that you can find on a lot of mid-rangers.

Hardware/Software

With the amazing Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage, Realme X2 Pro wins the performance comparison. It is faster, better for gaming and every advanced task. But there are two cons if you choose this device. First, it does not have 5G, unlike both its rivals. Second, it is still based on Android 9 Pie, while Honor V30 Pro and Oppo Reno3 boast Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

When it comes to cameras, Oppo Reno3 Pro and Honor V30 Pro take the award with their better sensors and departments. We still did not test it thoroughly, but Oppo Reno3 Pro looks more promising on the paper when it comes to rear cameras, while Honor V30 Pro has a better front camera department. It is one of the few phones to include an ultrawide front camera with a dual configuration. Realme X2 Pro has just a midrange camera department with a Samsung GW1 sensor and no OIS. It is a good camera phone, but far from the top tier ones.

Battery

Due to similar battery capacities, there are no huge differences in the battery life of Honor V30 Pro, Oppo Reno3 Pro, and Realme X2 Pro. What matters more are charging technologies. Realme X2 Pro has the fastest charging technology, but you can only charge it via a cable. Honor V30 Pro offers both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Price

The price of Honor V30 Pro in China is around $550/€495, Oppo Reno3 Pro starts from $580/€520, and Realme X2 Pro starts from $380/€340. Overall, Realme X2 Pro offers the highest performance and value for money, but it lacks 5G and a high-end camera. Honor V30 Pro is the most complete flagship, but Oppo Reno3 Pro offers a way better design and amazing cameras. Which one would you pick?

In my opinion, Huawei Nova 6 5G offers the most stunning design. Thanks to the punch-hole display, Huawei got rid of the notch and made a full bezel-less device without interruptions. Honor V30 Pro adopts the same solution, but it is slightly thicker and it has a rectangle-shaped camera module on the back which I do not like (and maybe a lot of other people as well). On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G offers a more compact body and an amazing build quality thanks to a 7000 series aluminum frame and a Gorilla Glass 6 back. Which one would you pick?

Display

While Huawei Nova 6 5G and Honor V30 Pro both come with an awesome punch-hole design, their display quality is not the best you would expect from a flagship smartphone. Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is a definitely better option. It has a smaller display, but it offers a richer image quality thanks to DCI P3 coverage and HDR10 technology. Further, it is a Super AMOLED display, while Huawei Nova 6 5G and Honor V30 Pro are equipped with IPS panels. On the paper, the display of the Huawei Nova 6 5G is superior to the Honor V30 Pro. But in this case, you only get a marginal difference.

Hardware/Software

When it comes to the hardware, it is worth making a distinction between performance and 5G performance, given that 5G is the key feature of these handsets. If we talk about performance such as speed and smoothness, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G is superior since it is equipped with a better Snapdragon 855+ SoC. There is even a better memory configuration with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. But the chipset does not come bundled with an integrated 5G modem and it uses an independent 5G modem. The Kirin 990 found on the Huawei nova 6 5G and Honor V30 Pro has an integrated 5G modem offering better connectivity and less energy consumption.

Camera

If you care about having an amazing camera phone, then you should not choose the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G. Instead, go for the Honor V30 Pro without thinking twice. It has better rear cameras including a 40 MP main sensor, OIS, 3x optical zoom and a higher resolution for the ultrawide lens (compared to the Huawei Nova 6 5G). Huawei Nova 6 5G and Honor V30 Pro have the same dual front camera department. According to DxOMark, Huawei Nova 6 5G is actually the best selfie phone.

Battery

Similar battery capacities, but not identical. Huawei Nova 6 5G has a bigger 4200 mAh but it is not said that it will last more: we’ll have to test it in order to give you a definitive thought. A definitely more important thing: Huawei Nova 6 5G does not support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, while Honor V30 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G do.

Price

Huawei Nova 6 5G and Honor V30 Pro debuted in China with prices starting from €486/$540 and €500/$555 respectively. Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G starts from €469/$520. At the end of the day, I would recommend the Honor V30 Pro due to its better camera department, integrated 5G modem, and amazing selfie cameras. It is more convincing than Huawei Nova 6 5G, despite it has a slightly worse display. But Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G wins when it comes to display quality and performance.

While waiting for their arrival in Europe which may be scheduled for Q1 2020, we think it is useful to compare them with their most important rivals. After comparing the Honor V30 to Oppo Reno 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note 10, it is time for comparisons regarding the Honor V30 Pro. We decided to compare it with OnePlus 7T Pro and Google Pixel 4 since they are among the most complete alternatives you can get at a not very high price.

Huawei Honor V30 Pro vs OnePlus 7T Pro vs Google Pixel 4

Design

OnePlus and Honor put a lot of effort into reducing the bezels around the display of their handsets: while the former opted for a pop-up camera in order to get rid of the notch on the OnePlus 7T Pro, the latter chose a punch-hole display for the Honor V30 Pro. But despite both have slimmer bezels than Google Pixel 4, the Pixel 4 is more compact and lightweight as it packs a smaller display and battery. Further, unlike its rivals, it has a waterproof body with the IP68 certification. It does not have the best look, according to my tastes the OnePlus 7T Pro is the most beautiful (but it has the biggest dimensions). But it is the most compact and it has a higher build quality, that is why I would go for it.

Display

OnePlus 7T Pro’s screen is the king of displays. It has everything you can expect from a display in 2019. It provides very accurate colors and a rich image quality thanks to the HDR10+ standard and full DCI P3 coverage. It has a very high level of detail thanks to the Quad HD+ resolution and it even provides a smoother user experience thanks to its 90 Hz refresh rate. The silver medal goes to the Google Pixel 4 rocking a P-OLED display with the support to HDR and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Honor V30 Pro has a midrange IPS panel, so nothing so exciting.

Hardware/Software

The speed is probably the most loved feature of the OnePlus 7T Pro. Thanks to an astonishing hardware department and an excellent software optimization, the handset provides blazing speeds and the smoothest user experience. It rocks a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 native storage, there is really nothing better for high performance. Right after, we got the Honor V30 Pro which, unlike the OnePlus 7T Pro, comes with the support to 5G connectivity. Google Pixel 4 does not support 5G and it has a lower-end chipset than both OnePlus 7T Pro and Honor V30 Pro, but it is a Google phone and it gets updated faster and more constantly with the latest patch and Android versions. That is why it is a better phone for developers.

Camera

Honor V30 Pro has the most advanced camera setup: a triple rear camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, as well as an amazing dual front camera with an additional ultrawide sensor. It is a very hard fight between OnePlus 7T Pro and Google Pixel 4, but they are both inferior to the Honor V30 Pro.

Battery

Honor V30 Pro packs the biggest battery and it will probably last more on a single charge. It is also the only to support reverse wireless charging. Right after, we got the OnePlus 7T Pro with a slightly smaller battery, while Google Pixel 4 has a way smaller one and can not compete with its opponents.

Price

Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$555 in China, OnePlus 7T Pro starts from €585/$649 in China and €759/$799 globally, and Google Pixel 4 costs €759/$799 globally. Overall, OnePlus 7T Pro is more advanced due to its better display and hardware, but it lacks 5G unlike the Honor V30 Pro, and Honor V30 Pro offers a better camera. We do not recommend the Google Pixel 4 instead of Honor V30 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro unless you are a developer or a user needing the most updated software, but note that it is the only waterproof and compact device here.

Yesterday, we compared the newly-announced Honor V30 Pro with two high-end phones at the center of the attention during the last period: Huawei Mate 30 and Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. But they are not the only smartphones you can opt for if you want a device in the same price range of the Honor V30 Pro, which is a so-called affordable flagship. We think it is a fool not to compare the new handset from Huawei’s sub-brand to the latest flagship of another sub-brand which is making a huge success in the global market: the Realme X2 Pro. And we decided to include another important device in this comparison, which is one of the few affordable 5G handsets: Vivo iQOO Pro 5G.

Huawei Honor V30 Pro vs Oppo Realme X2 Pro vs Vivo iQOO Pro 5G

Design

Notch has never been the most wanted solution to get rid of display bezels, that is why smartphone manufacturers always try to find new solutions to reduce the bezels without the need for a notch. One of these solutions is the punch-hole display and, in my opinion, that is what makes Honor V30 Pro more beautiful than Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, alongside its slightly different form factor. But you should also note that Vivo iQOO Neo Pro 5G has a very original look and it is a more compact device, keep that in mind if you do not like smartphones with big dimensions.

Display

Realme X2 Pro’s display is simply astonishing. It is the best screen you can currently find on a smartphone sold for less than €400. It supports the HDR10+ technology, it provides a full DCI P3 coverage and it even has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Simply a perfect display for both gamers and multimedia lovers. It only lacks the Quad HD+ resolution or it would be at the same level as the most expensive flagships. But, you know, a Quad HD+ resolution on a smartphone does not make a lot of difference. If you want a great display, we do not recommend the Honor V30 Pro as it has an average IPS panel.

Hardware/Software

Vivo iQOO Pro and Realme X2 Pro provide superior performance to the Honor V30 Pro thanks to their Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Realme X2 Pro is definitely the best as it sports a UFS 3.0 internal storage and amazing software optimization. It even has a smoother display thanks to the 90 Hz refresh rate. But unfortunately, it lacks support for 5G connectivity. So if you want a 5G phone but you still need the best performance go for the iQOO Pro 5G, otherwise the Realme X2 Pro is the best choice. Even Honor V30 Pro supports 5G, but it is fueled by a Kirin 990 SoC and just 8 GB of RAM, while Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G offer up to 12 GB of RAM. Android 10 is preinstalled only on the Honor V30 Pro, while its rivals run Android 9 Pie.

Camera

Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G are all but real camera phones. The camera master here is the Honor V30 Pro thanks to its 40 MP triple camera including OIS and 3x optical zoom. It even provides a better front camera setup with a dual selfie camera including an ultrawide sensor. After the Honor V30 Pro, the best camera phone is Realme X2 Pro thanks to its 64 MP quad-camera.

Battery

The bigger 4500 mAh battery of the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G makes it last more on a single charge. And with its 44W, it charges very quickly. Right after we got the Honor V30 Pro with a 4100 mAh battery and a very efficient chipset.

Price

Realme X2 Pro is sold for about €344/$379 in Asia, Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$550, and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G from less than €500/$550. There is not a clear winner here. If you do not need 5G and you are a power user, Realme X2 Pro is a better device than Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, despite it has a smaller battery. But if you need very high performance, 5G and long battery life, go for the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G. If you want a real camera phone, then discard both and choose the Honor V30 Pro.

Design

If you are ok with the rectangle-shaped camera module on the back, we suggest you go for the Honor V30 Pro. It has a more futuristic form factor and a notch-less display thanks to its in-display front cameras. The punch-hole display minimizes the bezels without the need for a notch and makes the device a lot more elegant. If you do not like the rear side with that huge camera module, then you may prefer the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro offering an awesome build quality thanks to its Gorilla Glass 6 back and its 7000 series aluminum frame.

Display

The most advanced display is on board of the OnePlus 7T, despite it does not feature a Quad HD+ resolution like its Pro sibling. Unlike Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro and Honor V30 Pro, the handset supports a 90 Hz refresh rate as well as the HDR10+ standard for the richest image quality. It even provides full DCI P3 coverage. If you still want an amazing display but not at the same level as the OnePlus 7T, then you should definitely opt for the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro which supports HDR10 and sports a Super AMOLED display. The Honor V30 Pro has an average-class IPS display and, despite its punch-hole design suggests the opposite, its image quality is not the best you can find.

Hardware/Software

The Snapdragon 855+ chipset found on the OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro is way better than the Kirin 990 on the Honor V30 Pro when it comes to speed and overall performance. Between OnePlus 7T and Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, OnePlus 7T wins thanks to its amazing software optimization and a UFS 3.0 internal storage. But unfortunately, the OnePlus 7T is the only which does not have a variant with 5G connectivity. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro comes in a higher-end configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage, as well as a 5G variant, that is why it wins the hardware comparison. In each case, you get Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

Honor V30 Pro is the camera master here. It has a better rear department including a 40 MP main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP  telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an ultrawide lens. It clicks better photos in low light conditions and captures more detail. Even the videos are way better. Right after, there is OnePlus 7T with its 48 MP triple camera and OIS. Honor V30 Pro wins even when it comes to selfies thanks to its dual front camera including a 32 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide lens.

Battery

Honor V30 Pro has the biggest battery, but it is not sure that it will offer a longer battery life than Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro. We have to test the Honor V30 Pro thoroughly in order to give you a definitive verdict.

Price

Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$550 just like Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro, while OnePlus 7T starts from €385/$425. At the end of the day, I define Honor V30 Pro a more interesting device for the average user due to its better cameras, 5G support, reverse wireless charging and more. But if you do not care about 5G, then you might prefer the OnePlus 7T for its better display and performance, even though it has a smaller battery and lacks reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro sits in the middle with great performance, big battery, reverse wireless charging and optional 5G, but it is not among the best camera phones.

The Honor V30 Pro is Honor’s latest flagship phone and the first Honor smartphone to be powered by the Kirin 990 5G processor. Prior to its release, the device’s AnTuTu benchmark result was shared on the web, now its Master Lu benchmark result has been released.

The benchmark result shows the Honor V30 score a total of 426,862 points. The total score is made up of a CPU score of 163,784 points, a GPU score of 163,249 points, a storage score of 57,284 and a memory score of 42.545.

The Honor V30 Pro’s score trails behind that of devices such as the Nubia Red Magic 3 which has a score of 459,463 points.

The Honor V30 Pro has a 6.57-inch display with a punch-hole for dual cameras. The display is an LCD panel and with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. The Kirin 990 5G  processor is paired with 8GB of RAM and you can choose between 128GB or 256GB of storage. There is no MicroSD card slot, so you cannot add more storage.

Honor is marketing the V30 Pro as a camera-centric device with its 40MPprmary rear cameras paired with an 8MP telephoto camera and a 12MP ultrawide angle camera. Its dual front-facing cameras include a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor.

The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 4100mAh battery with support for 40W wired fast charge, 27W wireless fast charge, and reverse wireless charging. It also supports NSA and SA 5G networks.

The Honor V30 Pro is priced at ¥3899 for the 128GB version and ¥4199 (~$597) for the 256GB version.

Today, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor held an unveil event in China to announce the Honor V30 (Vera 30) series of flagship phones. At the same event, it also announced the Honor MagicBook 15, Honor Magic Watch 2, Honor Flypods 2 and Honor Hunter Gaming Router. The Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro are the first phones to arrive with support for 5G connectivity. The smartphone manages to impress with its topnotch features such as dual punch-hole display, Kirin 990 chipset, fast wireless charging support, dual front-facing cameras and 40-megapixel triple rear cameras.

Honor V30 5G and Honor V30 Pro 5G Specifications

The Honor V30 Pro 5G comes with a 6.57-inch IPS LCD display that offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixel along with a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The display has an elliptical cutout at the top-left corner for its dual front-facing cameras. The fingerprint sensor of the phone can be found on the right edge embedded in the power button. The Honor V30 features the same dual punch-hole display and also comes with a side-facing fingerprint reader. Both phones offer 91.46 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Honor V30 Pro is driven by the 7nm Kirin 990 5G which is integrated with a 5G modem. The SoC brings support for SA (Standalone) and NSA (Non-Standalone) dual-mode 5G. The company claimed that the AI capabilities of the Kirin 990 AI is ahead of Apple A13 chipset. The V30 Pro houses a 4,100mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. It is the first Honor phone to arrive with wireless charging. The device supports 27W superfast wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

The Honor V30 has Kirin 990 chipset onboard along with Balong 5000 5G modem for 5G connectivity. It features a slightly larger 4,200mAh battery which also supports 40W rapid charging. It lacks support for wireless charging. The Honor V30 series is designed for high-end gaming. Users can connect single or dual-handed gamepad to the V30 / V30 Pro for immersive gaming experience.

The Honor V30 and V30 Pro feature Matrix Camera technology for systemic imaging technology framework through software and hardware collaboration. The Honor V30 Pro is equipped with a laser autofocus and LED flash enabled triple camera system on its back. It includes the customized Sony IMX600 RYYB 40-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture as main lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 12-megapixel cine lens with f/2.2 aperture with 109-degree field-of-view. The latter can be used to capture 16:9 aspect ratio videos with vibrant colors through AI HDR+. The triple camera setup of the Honor V30 features a customized Sony IMX600 RYYB 40-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and an 8-megapixel superwide lens. It comes with support for laser autofocus, LED flash, 4-axis OIS, EIS 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, 30x digital zoom, 4K video shooting at 30fps and 720p video shooting at 960fps.

Honor will be holding a launch event in China tomorrow to announce Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro 5G phones. Several leaks have appeared in the recent weeks to reveal the specs and design of the phone. Now, freshly baked leaked images of the actual Honor V30 (or V30 Pro) have surfaced on Weibo.

The images seem to be new since the Nov. 25 date can be seen on the display of the Honor V30. The pill-shaped punch-hole enabled display is surrounded by very thin bezels which indicates that it will be boasting a remarkable screen space.

The rear shell of the phone has a rectangular camera module that is packed with three camera sensors and an LED flash. The volume rocker can be seen on the right edge of the device. Below it is the side-facing fingerprint sensor. Another shot reveals the box package of the device that has been previously spotted. It contains the Vera brand name.

The Honor V30 and V30 Pro are both likely to come with full HD+ IPS LCD display of 6.57 inches. The V30 series is expected to offer 91.46 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Kirin 990 5G SoC will be fueling these phones. The Honor V30 may come with in 6 GB / 8 GB RAM version and 128 GB of storage. We had a clue that the new flagship models were going to feature Hisilicon’s best chipset, but today, the company has officially confirmed that the Honor V30 will feature its flagship-grade Kirin 990 5G processor. This also confirms them to be the first 5G smartphones from the brand.

Given its high-end placement, the Honor V30 and V30 Pro 5G models are expected to be expensive as well. According to a recent leak on Weibo, the V30 could be priced at 4999 yuan ($710). This would put it in direct competition to the Mate 30 models which also start at the same price in China.

So if they are similar technologies, the Matrix camera could be a really exciting camera feature. On coming Tuesday, Honor will be holding an unveil event in China to announce the Honor V30 and V30 Pro phones. The Honor V30 series will be the first 5G phones from the company. Recently, the OXF-AN10 phone was spotted on Geekbench with some of its key specs. Today, the same model has surfaced on AnTuTu benchmarking platform to reveal more details. According to AnTuTu, OXF-AN10 model number belongs to the Honor V30 Pro 5G phone and not Honor V30 5Gv as it was believed before.

On AnTuTu, the Honor V30 Pro 5G phone has recorded 476,480 average benchmarking score. This score is an average of CPU, GPU, memory and UX tests in which the phone scored 154,496, 169,369, 92,807 and 59,811 points. AnTuTu claimed that the Huawei Mate 30 Pro’s benchmarking scores for CPU and memory tests are higher than V30 Pro 5G. Both phones have scored recorded similar points in the UX score. However, the V30 Pro 5G outscored the Mate 30 Pro in the graphics test.

Coming to the specs of the Honor V30 Pro 5G phone that revealed through AnTuTu listing, it features a display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2440 pixels. Hence, the display of the Honor V30 Pro with an elliptical cutout for its two front-facing cameras will deliver a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The Kirin 990 5G chipset that powers the Mate 30 Pro 5G is also present under the hood of the V30 Pro 5G. The SoC is coupled with 8 GB of RAM.

The frontside of the phone has been already revealed by the Chinese manufacturer through its launch posters, but its rear design has remained a mystery. A reliable source has provided 91mobiles with fresh renders of the Honor V30 phone to reveal its design from all sides.

Honor V30 Renders

The Honor V30 renders reveal that it will be arriving in Orange and Blue colors. Both color variants have gradient finish that gives it a premium appeal. The display of the phone has a pill-shaped cutout for housing the two front-facing cameras.

The rear side of the phone has a rectangular camera module placed at the upper-left corner. The module looks similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy M30s and the upcoming Galaxy A51 phone. The module has three cameras and an LED flash. Rumors are rife it could be equipped with a primary lens of 60-megapixel. A recent report had revealed that Honor V30 series will come with the new Camera Matrix algorithm that will optimize the photography experience.

The Honor V30 could be a non-5G phone fueled by Kirin 990 chipset whereas the Honor V30 Pro could be the company’s first 5G phone driven by the Kirin 990 5G chipset. The handset will be supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. The Honor V30 may include a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The Pro model may house a 4,200Ah battery along with 40W rapid charging and it also carry support for wireless charging.

The Honor V30 Pro could be coming with dual front-facing cameras housed inside a pill-shaped camera module. On the other side, the Honor V30 could be also featuring a punch-hole display with a single front camera. It remains to be seen whether both phones are equipped with side-mounted fingerprint scanners. The predecessor Honor 20 and 20 Pro phones had featured side-facing fingerprint readers.

As far photography is concerned, the Honor V30 and V30 Pro may feature a rectangle-shaped camera module. The V30 could be fitted three rear-mounted cameras whereas the V30 Pro could be decked with four rear-mounted cameras. Both phones are rumored to be equipped with 60-megapixel main cameras on their rear. The Honor V30 series will come with new “Camera Matrix” algorithm that will make it possible to capture better photography experience.

Hopefully, the Honor V30 and V30 Pro phones will soon appear on TENAA with their full specifications. On Nov. 26, the Chinese is also expected to unleash other products including Kirin 810 powered Honor Tab 6 alongside the V30 series of phones.

Honor will be announcing the Honor V30 series of flagship smartphones on Nov. 26. Recently, an official promo video of the phone had revealed the design of the rear camera module of the Honor V30. It showed the smartphone sporting triple rear cameras. Today, a reliable tipster has shared an image of the Honor V30. Considering the fact that it is equipped with four rear-facing cameras, it appears that it could be Honor V30 Pro 5G phone.

The image shows that the smartphone has a V-shaped pattern on its rear panel that seems to be made out of glass. The upper-right corner of the back panel has ‘AI Vision’ text mentioned. There is an offbeat rectangular camera module that includes three vertically placed camera lenses and alongside it is the fourth lens with an LED flash.

It could be the Honor V30 Pro because the handset that was spotted recently in Honor’s promo video has a slightly different camera setup. In the above image, the LED flash is placed besides the third lens whereas in the screenshot taken from Honor’s promo video shows the LED flash next to the first camera. It also features a rectangular camera module with only three camera sensors.

Hence, it appears that the Honor V30 could be featuring three rear-facing cameras whereas the Honor V30 Pro could be coming with four rear-mounted cameras. Speaking of cameras, Honor has already shared a camera sample that was shot using Honor V30. However, the camera configurations of the Honor V30 and V30 Pro handsets are not known yet.

Coming back to the leaked image of the Honor V30 Pro, it seems to feature a volume rocker on its left edge. It appears that the phone is also equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that could be embedded under its power button.  The predecessor Honor 20 Pro phone also featured a side-facing fingerprint reader.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has already confirmed that the company will soon launch its Honor V30 series smartphones powered by the company’s own Kirin 990 5G chipset. Today, Honor President Zhao Ming has shared a screenshot of the device showcasing the internet speed on the upcoming device.

In the screenshot, we can see that the phone managed to get 741 Mbps download speed and 69.4 Mbps upload speed. This showcases the acceleration of the 5G technology as the next-generation mobile network technology on the network of China Mobile.

Recently, an image of the smartphone’s front panel leaked online, which confirmed that the phone will feature a hole-punch display for housing camera sensors whereas the Pro model will house two camera sensors in the punch-hole design.

As for the main camera module at the back of the device, reports indicate that it will come with a 60-megapixel primary sensor, coupled with a 16-megapixel super wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a ToF camera sensor, completing the quad-camera setup.

While the phone’s launch date, pricing and availability information still remains unknown, some reports indicate that the Honor V30 series will be priced under 3,000 Yuan which roughly converts to $420. We are expecting the smartphones to get launched in the coming weeks and the company should announced the date pretty soon.

Huawei Technologies, the China-based smartphone maker has filed application with the Ministry of Industry Certification for its two new smartphones having model numbers WLZ-AN00 and OXF-AN00.

Some reports from the Chinese market claims that the smartphone with model number WLZ-AN00 is the Huawei Nova 6 while the one carrying model number OXF-AN00 is the Honor V30. Both the smartphone are said to have similar design.

Among the two smartphones, nothing is known about the Huawei Nova 6. However, the Honor V30 smartphone has already been confirmed by the company and will get launched next month.

Honor President Zhao Ming confirmed in a recent interview with Chinese media that the smartphone will come with support for both Non-Stand Alone (NSA) and Stand Alone (SA) modes for 5G, essentially future-proofing the device.

This year’s Honor V series flagships will have a standard variant and a Pro version. Leaked specs have revealed the Honor V30 Pro will have support for wireless charging. It has now been confirmed that it is true.

The Wireless Power Consortium has certified a wireless charger with model number AP61. According to the certification page, the product is called the HONOR Wireless Charger and it was registered on September 30, 2019.

An attached image shows the charger has a circular design with a gray fabric top and a sky blue base. The fabric is most likely the same cationic fabric Huawei used for the Mate 30 series’ SuperCharge Wireless Car Charger. The fabric design should improve heat dissipation.

The design of the wireless charger actually gives off a Bluetooth speaker vibe. I think its design is inspired by the UE ROLL 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. However, the design is not unique. A similar-looking charger was certified by Huawei on September 20, 2019. The only difference is the color and of course the model number which is CP61.

The listing says it has a potential power level of 10 watts but leaks said the Honor V30 Pro supports 15W wireless charging. The power rating is most likely higher since the same potential power level is written for the Huawei charger. And we know the Mate 30 series supports 27W wireless charging.

The Honor V30 Pro will be the first Honor flagship phone to support wireless charging. We expect the feature will become standard for its future flagships going forward.

The V30 Pro will have an OLED display with a punch hole for two cameras, a Kirin 990 5G processor, a 60MP + 20MP + 8MP + ToF quad rear camera setup, and a 32MP selfie camera. It will draw power from a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge wired charging.

Now, fresh renders showcasing the rear design of the purported Honor V30 Pro has surfaced on Weibo. It reveals that the smartphone will be sporting a gradient colored rear along with a square-shaped quad camera module like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

Unlike the previous leak which said the Honor V30 has triple rear cameras, this new leak says the phone actually has a quad-camera setup on the back just like the Honor V30 Pro. However, the camera configuration is different for both phones.

The Honor V30 will have a 60MP primary camera paired with a 16MP super wide-angle lens, a 2MP 2.4 cm macro lens, and a ToF camera. Inside the hole in its screen is a 32MP selfie camera.

The Honor V30 Pro will also have a 60MP main rear camera but a 20MP super wide-angle lens, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a ToF camera. The main selfie camera is also a 32MP sensor but the configuration of the second camera is unknown.

The Honor V30 will draw power from a 4000mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging while the V30 Pro will have a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W fast charge and 15W wireless fast charge.

The source reports that the Honor V30 series will have a price tag not more than ¥3000 (~$420) and both phones are expected to be announced by the end of October.

The specs were posted on Twitter by Teme (特米) (@RODENT950). According to the tweet, the Honor V30 Pro will have support for 5G.

The Honor V30 will have an LCD display with a punch-hole for a single front-facing camera just like the Honor V20. There is no mention of the display size or the selfie camera’s configuration.

The phone will have a 4000mAh battery capacity just like its predecessor and also support 22.5W SuperCharge fast charging technology. Honor will include an extra camera for a triple-camera setup and the primary sensor will be a 60MP camera. The specs of the other two sensors are not mentioned.

The Honor V30 will be powered by the 7nm Kirin 990 processor which powers the Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

The Honor V30 Pro will have an OLED display with a punch hole for dual front-facing cameras. The specs of the two sensors are also kept under wraps. The display of the V30 Pro already leaked a few weeks ago. Powering the Honor V30 Pro will be the Kirin 990 5G processor.

The phone will also have a 60MP primary rear camera but it will be paired with 3 other sensors for a quad-camera setup. The Honor V30 Pro will have a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge just like the Mate 30 series. However, it will not have support for their 27W fast wireless charging. Instead, it will come with 15W wireless charging support.

While both phones boast interesting specs, they will face the same issues as the Mate 30 series – no Google Services; which will make them practically useless for interested buyers outside China.
