<p>60Hz was the standard refresh rate for smartphones a few years ago. As chipsets got more capable and phones could finally push more frames for smoother animation and scrolling, smartphone makers switched to higher refresh rate displays to improve the user experience. Lately, this has also allowed phones to offer smoother gameplay.</p>

<h3>The current landscape</h3>

<p>120Hz is the current standard for both Androids and iPhones, and many Android OEMs are continuously pushing the boundaries to reach even higher numbers. The OnePlus 15, for instance, refreshes its 1.5K display up to 165 times per second. In fact, one of the reasons behind the shift from the OnePlus 13’s 2K panel to 1.5K in the latest flagship was reportedly the higher refresh rate. Refreshing a 2K panel at 165fps simply wasn’t possible <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/10/16/oneplus-reveals-why-it-chose-1-5k-display-for-oneplus-15/">due to technical limitations</a>, as a company official noted.</p>

<p>The performance-centric <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/26/honor-win-win-rt-gaming-phones-launched/">Honor Win series</a> goes a step further, with a whopping 185Hz refresh rate. This matches Asus’s gaming flagship from 2024, the ROG Phone 9 series.</p>

<p>So here’s the question: do higher refresh rates help gamers? Well, only if a game has been updated to take advantage of it (mostly through frame rate interpolation). The phone also needs to be able to render that many frames consistently. While smartphone chips are getting more capable every year, the list of games that cross 120fps remains quite short.</p>

<h3>Games that actually support it</h3>

<p>OnePlus <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/09/29/oneplus-15-here-are-the-games-with-165fps-support/">revealed</a> a list of games that take advantage of the OnePlus 15’s high refresh rate display at launch:</p>

<ul><li>Call of Duty: Mobile</li><li>Arena Breakout</li><li>Delta Force</li><li>League of Legends: Wild Rift</li><li>Naruto Mobile</li><li>CrossFire</li></ul>

<p>As for the Honor Win series, the list reportedly covers around 20 games, including CrossFire, PUBG Mobile, Honor of Kings, and Honkai: Star Rail.</p>

<p>Brands like Honor and OnePlus could be working with more game developers to expand support for their frame rate interpolation systems. Still, it’s safe to say these titles make up a very small percentage of the games available on an app store for now.</p>

<h3>A feature or a gimmick?</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="852" height="480" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-722699" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1.png 852w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1-768x433.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/videoframe_159363-1-746x420.png 746w" sizes="(max-width: 852px) 100vw, 852px" /></figure></div>

<p>While I enjoy having the toggle to turn on frame rate interpolation and experience smoother gameplay on Genshin Impact on my <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/05/iqoo-neo9-pro-review-i-heard-it-whisper-in-my-ear-ill-kill-everyone-under-450/">iQOO Neo 9 Pro</a>, it only works for a handful of supported games. It also doesn’t apply elsewhere in the UI, despite what marketing materials sometimes imply. As a result, it feels like a niche feature rather than one that should influence the buying decision of a wider audience.</p>

<p>So, to answer the question directly, a 185Hz refresh rate is only useful to you if a game in your app drawer actually supports it.</p>

<p>Most gamers looking to upgrade would be better off prioritizing sustained performance in games or the effectiveness of a phone’s cooling system instead. But if you are an avid player of a game that supports such high refresh rates, then upgrading to a phone with 165Hz+ refresh rate might make sense.</p>

<p>What&#8217;s your opinion? Do you think you would prioritize screen refresh rate when buying a smartphone?</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/">Honor</a> is getting ready to launch its new WIN gaming phone lineup, and the company is clearly putting a lot of emphasis on one thing many gaming phones overlook: eye comfort.</p>

<p>Ahead of the official unveiling <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/17/honor-win-series-launch-date-design-revealed/">on December 26</a>, Honor confirmed that every phone in the upcoming WIN series will feature what it calls an AI Oasis eye-protection gaming display. The company says the screen is specifically tuned for 3D games and fast-paced visuals, with built-in anti-dizziness technology designed to reduce eye strain and motion sickness during long gaming sessions. According to Honor, the system can cut discomfort by up to 54 percent, though real-world results will need independent testing.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-576x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-720703" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-1152x2048.jpg 1152w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-1068x1899.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-1920x3413.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-236x420.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/003v0AaFly1i8lqcanx1xj61o02yo1l202-1-scaled.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /></figure></div>

<p>A major highlight is the display’s 5920Hz PWM dimming, which Honor claims is the highest “zero-risk” flicker control in the industry. The panel has also received TÜV Rheinland’s Global Eye Protection 5.0 certification, covering issues like dry eyes and fatigue during extended use.</p>

<p>The WIN lineup will include two models: the Honor WIN, positioned as a flagship gaming phone, and the slightly toned-down Honor WIN RT. Both devices share one eye-catching spec—a massive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/18/honor-win-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-10000mah-battery-launch/">10,000mAh battery</a>, aimed at extended gaming without constant charging breaks.</p>

<p>On the performance side, Honor isn’t holding back. The top-end WIN model runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Audio is handled by Honor Surround Subwoofer 2.0, featuring dual symmetrical speakers for louder, more immersive sound.</p>

<p>Durability also seems to be a focus. The entire series is rated for IP68, IP69, and IP69K resistance. With the WIN series, Honor appears to be targeting hardcore mobile gamers—but with a stronger focus on long-term comfort rather than just raw performance numbers.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor </a>is gearing up to release its performance focused flagship smartphones in its home market of China. But ahead of the official announcement, a fresh teaser has showcased the Honor Win and Honor Win RT&#8217;s active cooling solution in action, so let&#8217;s check it out.</p>

<h2>Honor Win series teased with Turbine cooling fan</h2>

<p>The Chinese brand&#8217;s upcoming Honor Win just surfaced in a fresh video trailer that offers us a glimpse of the new &#8220;Dongfeng Turbine Cooling&#8221; Fan. As the name suggests, this is a tiny physical fan that spins at 25,000 RPM. In the video teaser, the Honor Win&#8217;s fan manages to cool down the chip powering the smartphone, preventing thermal throttling. This is a dual 360° surround fan that has a direct-drive cooling airflow. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-1024x477.png?x44794" alt="Honor Win Cooling Fan Teaser" class="wp-image-720601" width="703" height="327" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-1024x477.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-300x140.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-768x357.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-1536x715.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-696x324.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-1068x497.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser-902x420.png 902w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Cooling-Fan-Teaser.png 1751w" sizes="(max-width: 703px) 100vw, 703px" /><figcaption>Honor Win Cooling Fan Teaser</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>When in full speed, the company claims that the temperature drops by around 5.7 degrees Celsius. Honor also stated that this is a durable moving piece that is promised to last for at least five years. The Honor Win and Win RT is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, which is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.</p>

<p>While this confirms the device&#8217;s performance first focus, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/23/honor-win-win-rt-camera-specifications-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">recent leak has revealed capable camera hardware</a> for photography. This includes a 50MP Sony LYT700 main camera and a 122MP ultra wide angle lens on the Win RT model. Meanwhile, the Honor Win is a premium model that also gets a 50MP Sony IMX856 telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. Other notable features include a massive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/18/honor-win-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-10000mah-battery-launch/">10,000mAh battery</a>, a 1.5K 6.83-inch 120Hz OLED display and 100W wired fast charging support.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> Win series has surfaced in a fresh leak that sheds light on one of its less-discussed areas. While the lineup is largely positioned as performance-focused, the latest information reveals that Honor has not sidelined camera hardware, hinting at a more balanced flagship approach.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Win and Win RT camera details surface</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="735" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-1024x735.png?x44794" alt="Honor Win " class="wp-image-720531" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-1024x735.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-300x215.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-768x551.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-1536x1102.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-696x500.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-1068x767.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1-585x420.png 585w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-blue-1.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor Win </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>According to <a href="https://weibo.com/6734482564/QjH8KbrAi">tipster </a>Bald Panda, both the Honor Win and Win RT will feature a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. On the rear, the standard Win RT model will feature a dual-camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700 primary camera along with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.</p>

<p>The Honor Win, on the other hand, will have a triple camera unit equipped with the same primary and ultra-wide cameras along with an additional 50-megapixel Sony IMX856 telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. This setup indicates that Honor is aiming to deliver respectable imaging performance even on devices built around raw power.</p>

<p>Apart from cameras, the same leak mentions several shared features across the lineup. These include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, a dual-speaker system combining 1216 and 0809H units, and support for 5920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The phones are also said to measure 76.6mm in width, suggesting a large, immersive form factor.</p>

<p>Previous reports have revealed that the Honor Win and Win RT will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite, respectively. Both models will have a 6.83-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/19/honor-win-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-antutu-score-performance-leak/">185Hz refresh rate</a>, framed by slim 1.4mm bezels. Powering the device is a massive <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/18/honor-win-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-10000mah-battery-launch/">10,000mAh battery</a>, said to support 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The Win RT will reportedly retain the same battery capacity with 100W wired charging but drop wireless charging to keep costs lower. Both phones also feature a built-in cooling fan. </p>

<p>Honor has confirmed that the Win series will debut in China <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/17/honor-win-series-launch-date-design-revealed/">on Dec. 26</a>, with no official word yet on global availability.</p>

These devices are bringing class leading battery sizes, high end water and dust resistance rating, and much more. So here&#8217;s everything that was revealed.</p>

<h2>Honor Win Teaser</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-IP69K-576x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Win Teaser" class="wp-image-720310" width="451" height="802" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-IP69K-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-IP69K-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-IP69K-236x420.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-IP69K.jpg 690w" sizes="(max-width: 451px) 100vw, 451px" /></figure></div>

<p>To recall, the Chinese brand will officially unveil the Honor Win series in its home market on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/17/honor-win-series-launch-date-design-revealed/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">26th December 2025</a>. But ahead of the announcement, Honor has confirmed that the Win lineup will carry an IP68, IP69, and IP69K rating for protection against the elements. It will also pack a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for security. While there were rumors of the devices carrying a huge battery pack, the latest teasers have confirmed a gigantic 10,000mAh Qinghai Lake battery.</p>

<p>Other notable features that were revealed in the teasers include a proprietary communication system that consists of a dual-chip architecture that pairs a dedicated Wi-Fi signal chip and the Honor C1+ RF enhancement chip. This should help boost the network indoors and in areas with weaker network connectivity. Based on what we know so far, the Honor Win is expected to sport a tall 6.83-inch OLED screen offering a 1.5K resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate, and uniform 1.4mm bezels. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-10000mAh-battery.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Win Teaser" class="wp-image-720311" width="426" height="757" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-10000mAh-battery.jpg 360w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-10000mAh-battery-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-10000mAh-battery-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Honor Win model is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, paired with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. While the base Win is rumored to feature a 50MP triple camera setup, the Win RT is believed to have a dual camera system. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more.</p>

<p>The above poster reveals that the Honor Win is powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a> chip, paired with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM with speeds of up to 10.7Gbps, and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination has allowed the device to score 4,409,382 on AnTuTu v10, claims the brand.</p>

<p>A <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/18/honor-win-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-10000mah-battery-launch/">recent report revealed</a> that the device will have 16GB of RAM and 16GB of virtual RAM. Honor claims that the Honor Win can run heavy-load games continuously for five hours with zero stutter, zero frame drops, and zero jitter.</p>

<p>The above image <a href="https://weibo.com/6734482564/Qj0Nql45Y">shared </a>by tipster Bald Panda reveals that the Honor Win packs a massive 6.83-inch OLED screen offering a 1.5K resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate. The tipster claims that the screen is surrounded by slim 1.4mm bezels on all four sides.</p>

<p>A recent <a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/QiOybC3hg">leak</a> by tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Honor Win’s humongous 10,000mAh battery will support 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. On the other hand, the Win RT will be a more affordable model equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chip and a 10,000mAh battery with 100W charging, but it will lack wireless charging support.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> is all set to launch the Honor Win series of smartphones on Dec. 26 in China. The lineup will include dual flagship phones, namely <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-win-rt">the Honor Win RT</a> and the more powerful Honor Win. There have been reports that these phones will pack huge batteries, and a new official teaser has revealed that the Honor Win will arrive with a 10,000mAh battery.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Win key specs confirmed</strong></h3>

<p>A Weibo user shared an image of the ‘About Phone’ page of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-win">Honor Win</a>, claiming that its 10,000mAh battery is incredible and that it is practically a power bank. The said post was <a href="https://weibo.com/6061221650/QiW5ihIH6">reposted </a>by Honor Performance Optimization R&amp;D Engineer A Yong, bolstering the authenticity of the image.</p>

<p>The &#8216;About Phone&#8217; image confirms that the Honor Win will feature an OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution of 2800 x 1272 pixels. Under the hood, the device is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.</p>

<p>At present, the Red Magic 11 Pro (Chinese edition) is the only <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>-powered phone to pack an 8,000mAh battery. The upcoming Honor Win is even more powerful than the Magic 11 Pro, as it offers an extraordinary combination of a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.</p>

<p>The Honor Win also features 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, coupled with 16GB of virtual RAM. The device is also equipped with Honor’s self-developed chips, such as the C1+ RF enhancement chip and the E2 power efficiency enhancement chip.</p>

<p>Recent reports have revealed that the Honor Win will have a triple camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel sensor. Its display size is said to be 6.83 inches and is expected to support a 1.5K resolution. It will be available in three shades, such as black, white, and blue.</p>

<p>Honor has confirmed that the Win series will be unveiled on Dec. 26 at 14:30 (local time) in China. The launch will introduce two models named Honor Win and Honor Win RT, marking a dual flagship strategy for the lineup.</p>

<p>The Honor Win series has been revealed in three shades, such as black, white, and blue. There seems to be a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/14/vivo-first-action-camera-launch-alongside-x300-ultra/">beige color option</a> as well, but that has not been officially confirmed yet. The rear panel features a matte texture that resists fingerprints and sweat, helping to maintain a secure grip during extended gaming sessions. The overall design looks similar to the Redmi K90 series.</p>

<p>Both phones follow Honor’s familiar design language, though there are visible differences between the two. The Honor Win is positioned as the higher-end variant and features a triple rear camera setup, while the Honor Win RT has a dual camera setup. Both phones have the Win-branding and an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/13/honor-wins-design-shows-an-active-cooling-fan-built-into-the-camera-module/">active cooling fan</a>, reinforcing their gaming-centric approach.</p>

<p>According to reports, the Honor Win is expected to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display with a high refresh rate of up to 165Hz. It is said to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chipset, which is currently among the most powerful processors in the Android ecosystem. The phone is also tipped to include a 50-megapixel main camera, a metal frame, ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and full-level water resistance.</p>

<p>Battery capacity is another major highlight, with reports pointing to a battery size of at least 8,500mAh, setting a new benchmark for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/16/honor-win-series-launch-gaming-flagship-india/">performance-focused smartphones</a>. Detailed specifications of the Honor Win RT remain under wraps and are expected to be revealed closer to launch. However, it is expected to similar specs as the standard model but is said to be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor">Honor</a> Win series has officially been confirmed for launch later this month, with the company positioning it as a new performance-first smartphone lineup aimed at gaming users. While the initial teaser does not disclose every specification, it highlights that the Win series will include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/11/honor-win-series-replace-honor-gt-2/">two flagship models</a> and will focus heavily on sustained performance, battery life, and gamer-friendly design elements.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor Win series positioned as an esports-focused flagship</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="562" height="1000" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-is-launching-this-month.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Win series is launching this month" class="wp-image-719515" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-is-launching-this-month.jpg 562w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-is-launching-this-month-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-is-launching-this-month-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px" /><figcaption>Honor Win series is launching this month</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Honor has described the Win series as a “yearly esports phone,” signalling its intention to compete directly in the high-performance gaming segment. The lineup is expected to include two variants, both positioned as performance flagships rather than mainstream devices.</p>

<p>As per reports, the higher-end model is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display, a form factor preferred by many gamers for grip comfort and reduced accidental touches. The phone is also expected to adopt a metal frame and a flat panel design to support long gaming sessions. Under the hood, it is said to feature <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite=gen-5">the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5</a> chip.</p>

<p>One of the most talked-about features of the Honor Win series is the inclusion of an active cooling fan, which have been seen in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/13/honor-wins-design-shows-an-active-cooling-fan-built-into-the-camera-module/">leaked renders</a> in the recent past. This suggests a focus on sustained performance rather than peak numbers alone.</p>

<p>The phone is also tipped to pack a battery larger than 8,500mAh. Other expected features include a 50-megapixel primary camera, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, high-grade water resistance, fast charging support, and a dedicated AI side key that could offer gaming-related shortcuts.</p>

<p>The standard Honor Win model will borrow some of its specs from the higher-end edition. It is said to come equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-elite">Snapdragon 8 Elite</a> chipset. Although it will have a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/14/vivo-first-action-camera-launch-alongside-x300-ultra/">similar design</a> as its higher-end version, it may not feature a cooling fan.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a> is officially teasing a brand-new smartphone lineup, and yes, it’s really called the Win series. After months of rumors, the company has now confirmed the name by sharing its first teaser on its official Weibo handle.</p>

<p>Honor announced today that it will host a communication event for its new e-sports-focused phones on December 16th, which is tomorrow. The event carries the slogan “Exceptional Strength, Born to Win.” </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="450" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-teaser-official.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-719281" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-teaser-official.jpg 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-teaser-official-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-series-teaser-official-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></figure></div>

<p>The teaser image posted on Honor’s official website shows a screen filled with the word “WIN,” leaving little doubt that this is the branding the company is moving forward with.</p>

<p>For those unaware, the Honor Win series is set to replace the Honor GT lineup, which itself only debuted in 2024. The next phone that many expected to launch as the Honor GT 2 will now reportedly arrive under the Win name instead. In other words, GT is out, and Win is in, at least for now.</p>

<h2><strong>Two devices powered by Snapdragon chips</strong></h2>

<p>According to rumors, the line will have two devices, called the Honor Win and Honor Win Pro.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We have also seen images of both phones sporting a rectangular camera module with Win branding placed at the bottom-right corner. The module appears to include three cameras on both sets.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Hono-Win-image--1068x1508.png?x44794" alt="" /><figcaption>Honor Win render</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The standard Honor Win is said to come in multiple colors, including beige, black, white, and cyan.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the Honor Win Pro also has a built-in cooling component next to the top camera lens.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" /><figcaption>Honor Win Pro render</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the hardware side, the Honor Win could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the Win Pro may use the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both phones are expected to feature a 1.5K OLED display, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a massive 8,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.</p>

<p>Only the last 15 days of 2025 remain, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.oom/caetgory/honor">Honor</a> appears set to close the year with a bang by announcing the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/11/honor-win-series-replace-honor-gt-2/">all-new Honor Win series</a>, formerly known as the Honor GT 2. The lineup is expected to include two models that were previously dubbed the Honor GT 2 and GT 2 Pro. These new devices are likely to be called the Honor Win and Honor Win Pro. Images of the Honor Win series are currently doing the rounds on Chinese social media platforms, revealing a design similar to the Redmi K90 series.</p>

<p>There are two sets of images circulating on Weibo. Both models feature a rectangular camera module with Win branding placed at the bottom-right corner. The module appears to house three cameras along with an LED flash. The handset that seems to be the base Honor Win could arrive in shades such as beige, black, white, and cyan.</p>

<p>In the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/13/honor-wins-design-shows-an-active-cooling-fan-built-into-the-camera-module/">other set of images</a>, the LED flash is positioned toward the right side of the rectangular camera island. Alongside the camera setup, there appears to be a built-in cooling component, which suggests that this could be a performance-focused model. Its inclusion points to it being a higher-end offering, likely to be called the Honor Win Pro.</p>

Both devices may feature a 1.5K OLED screen, a 50-megapixel main camera, and an around 8,500mAh battery with 100W charging support.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/honor/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Honor</a> made a last-minute branding change to its upcoming midrange phone. What we were expecting to be the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-gt-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Honor GT 2 </a>will now be the Honor Win smartphone, as revealed in a previous report.</p>

<p>Ahead of the launch, the first renders of the Honor Win have surfaced on the web, and they show a few features that immediately stand out.</p>

<h2><strong>Here’s your first look at Honor Win&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The renders show the Honor Win in black, blue, and cyan color options. On the back, there’s a horizontal matrix-style camera module that houses three cameras. The layout stretches across the width of the phone and extends all the way to the edge, similar to how recent iPhones integrate their camera islands. The module also includes an LED flash and a visible WIN branding.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-2 is-cropped">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" data-id="719021" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-719021" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" data-id="719022" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-719022" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-render-2-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" data-id="719023" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-719023" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Honor-Win-Render-1-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>What’s more unusual or interesting is an active cooling fan that sits in a cutout that visually blends with the camera module. Active cooling fans are still rare outside gaming phones, so this hints that Honor will position the Win series as a performance-focused device rather than a typical flagship.</p>

<p>On the inside, leaked information suggests the Honor Win series could be powered by the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/11/03/snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-claims-every-top-five-spot-in-antutus-latest-performance-ranking/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 </a>mobile platform. The chip uses a 2+6 core architecture, with two super-large cores clocked as high as 4.6GHz. </p>

<p>Moreover, the phone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution, paired with a metal frame. Honor may also include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition and high-level water resistance.</p>

<p>Camera-wise, the Honor Win is tipped to use a 50MP large-sensor main camera, while charging could go all the way up to 100W fast charging. Perhaps the wildest claim is that it could come with a 10,000mAh battery, which would be massive for a phone of this class.</p>
