Almost a month ago Honor announced a new phone called the Honor X10 5G. A new leak has revealed it will be getting two siblings called the Honor X10 Max 5G and Honor X10 Pro 5G.

The info was revealed on Weibo by Digital Chat Station today. The leaker did not mention any of their specs neither did he mention when they will hit the market. Nevertheless, we have a few speculations of our own.

The Honor X10 Max 5G should be a bigger version of the Honor X10 5G, so expect a bigger screen and a bigger battery but the same Kirin 820 processor inside. The president of Honor, George Zhao revealed recently that they are working on a phone with a big screen. There is a chance this device might be the Honor X10 Max.

For the Honor X10 Pro 5G, we presume it will not only be bigger but may come with a more powerful chipset and better and or more camera sensors. It may also come with a faster-charging technology than the 22.5W fast charging that is bundled with the Honor X10 5G.

The two phones should launch in the coming weeks or months but before then, more details should surface.

A few days ago, Huawei-backed Honor launched the Honor X10 5G smartphone in China and today the smartphone went on sale for the first time. Now, hours after the sale, the company has announced that it sold over 100,000 units of the Honor X10 5G in the first sale within just eight minutes.

The Honor X10 5G has been launched in three variants — 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. They are priced at 1,899 Yuan (~$266), 2,199 Yuan (~$308) and 2,399 Yuan (~$336) respectively. It comes in three color options — Probing Black, Racing Blue, and Lightspeed Silver.

The smartphone comes with a 6.63-inch IPS LCD display with notch-less design, 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 20:9 aspect ratio display. Under the hood, the device is powered by Kirin 820 5G SoC which supports nine 5G bands such as n41, n78, n79, n1, n77, n38, n80 and n84.

In the camera department, the phone has a Sony IMX600y 40-megapixel RYYB as a primary sensor, coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens. On the front side, it comes with a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The smartphone runs the latest Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Magic UI 3.1 skin on top. The device is powered by a 4,300mAh battery that carries 22.5W fast charging support.

Huawei is gearing up for the launch of the Honor X10 on 20th May. However, just a few days prior to the launch, the smartphone had its popup camera revealed online. The leak revealed a stronger build design but at a higher cost.

For those unaware, the Honor X10 is a mid range smartphone and will feature the Kirin 820 5G SoC. Its display has a sampling rate of 180Hz and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The device will be powered by a large 4,200mAh battery that supports up to 22.5W fast charging. For selfies, the front shooter is housed in a popup camera mechanism, which had its internal structure revealed.

The reveal was first shared online by @长安数码君 on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, and arrived alongside a few images as well. The images revealed the internal layout and schematics of the Honor X10’s popup camera mechanism. These schematics showcase a dual-rail popup mechanism. In comparison, smartphones generally only have a single rail design and motor for raising or lowering the camera module.

This essentially translates to a robust design, which should offer a stronger structure to the mechanism. However, it also means that the Honor X10’s popup camera will be a bit more expensive and could potentially raise the price of the handset as well. Over the conventional builds, this system also placed lesser stress on the middle portion of the lifting track and the mechanism will have a lower chance of deviation with use over time.

Honor will be launching the Honor X10 on May 20. Ahead of it, the brand has started teasing the features as expected. A teaser posted on Weibo earlier today confirms the Honor X10 to come with 9 5G bands. When it will launch, it will be the cheapest smartphone with such a characteristic.

Honor X10 is expected to be the most affordable 5G smartphone from Huawei. Almost all of the specifications of the handset are out, thanks to the Chinese certification agency TENAA and leakers. Additionally, even the brand’s president George Zhao has teased some of the specs.

But now, Honor’s official Weibo account has started posting teasers, which we believe will continue till the day of the launch. The first set of teasers did not reveal much about the handset.

However, today’s teaser disclosed the Honor 10X to feature 9 5G bands, which is about double the bands seen on standard 5G-enabled smartphones.

According to the teaser poster, the upcoming Honor 10X will come with the following 5G bands.

Honor calls this device as a ‘universal key’ to 5G world. It will work on all the three carriers in China as well as on at least one carrier in most countries with 5G infrastructure.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is all set to launch its new Honor X10 5G smartphone in China on 20th May. Ahead of the launch, key specifications and features of the upcoming device have been surfacing online. In the latest development, the camera samples of the smartphone from Everest expedition have been released by the company.

Honor says that Li Pau and Cai Qing from 2020 Everest Survey Mountaineering Team took some stunning images using the Honor 30 Pro Plus and the upcoming Honor X10 5G. Here are the images captured using the new Honor X10 5G smartphone.

The smartphone is expected to come with a triple-camera setup on the back consisting of a 40-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary sensor. For the main lens, the company is expected to use Sony IMX600y custom sensor.

The Honor X10 5G is expected to be the cheapest 5G-compatible smartphone from the company and is likely to be priced around 2,000 yuan which roughly converts to $282. To know for sure, we’ll have to wait for the official launch on 20th May.
