After the Chinese launch last month, Honor has finally launched the Honor 70 5G smartphone in the UK along with the Honor Pad 8 and the X8 5G smartphone.

Honor 70 5G

The Honor 70 Pro features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ OLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has an under-display fingerprint sensor and a punch-hole cutout for housing the front-facing camera.

Under the hood, it houses the Snapdragon 778G Plus SoC with HONOR’s own GPU Turbo X, which keeps high frame rates and low power consumption while running high-rate games. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

For optics, the device has a 54-megapixel IMX800 Super Sensing Main Camera, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide & macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the device has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The device has a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. It runs Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1 out of the box and offers other features like a USB-C port, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and NFC.

Honor Pad 8

The Honor Pad 8 is a mid-range tablet with a 12-inch LCD screen with 2K resolution and an 87% screen-to-body ratio.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset which is complimented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The tab runs Android 12 with Magic UI 6.1 and the all-new desktop layout. This is the first tablet from Honor to feature multi-screen collaboration. Drag and drop functions on the tablet and Honor smartphone allow for seamless interaction, making it simple to work together on the same files.

Other features of the tablet include 5-megapixel front and rear cameras, an 8-speaker setup with DTS audio tuning technology, and a 7,250mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.

Honor X8 5G

The 6.5-inch LCD display on the Honor X8 5G has a Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The X8 5G is equipped with the Snapdragon 480 Plus chipset, which is complimented by6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage.

For optics, the device has a 48-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro snapper, and a 2-megapixel depth-sensing unit. On the front, it comes with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.

The device runs on Android 11-based Magic UI 4.2. It has a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 22.5W rapid charging. It also incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing & availability

The HONOR 70 5G is available in the following colours: Crystal Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black. The 8GB+128 model costs £479.99 (about $568/Rs. 45,375) while the 8GB+256GB variant costs £529.99 (roughly $627/Rs. 50,120).

General sales of the HONOR 70 will begin on September 2nd, 2022, with pre-orders beginning on August 26th, 2022.

The HONOR Pad 8 will be sold on HiHonor.com starting on August 26 and on Amazon starting on September 2 for a price of £269.99 (about $319/Rs. 25,505 / 4GB+128GB).

Priced at £229.99 (about $272 or Rs. 21,725), the HONOR X8 5G is already on sale at HiHonor.com, Argos, and Amazon.

In March 2022, Honor unveiled the Honor X8 4G smartphone. Now, the brand is back with its 5G sibling, called the Honor X8 5G. While both smartphones sport a very similar design, the 5G edition is packed with inferior specs as compared to its 4G version. The Honor X8 5G is equipped with a 6.5-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The display notch houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera. In comparison, the Honor X8 4G has a bigger 6.7-inch LCD FHD+ 90Hz display, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 64-megapixel (main) + 5-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. It is powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and a 4,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. It boots to the Android 11 OS with Magic UI 4.2 on top.

Honor X8 5G price and availability

Honor has not confirmed the price of the Honor X8 5G. It will be available soon in Midnight Black and Ocean Blue colours.
